[00:00:11] .

[00:00:26] Hey everybody, welcome to the show.

[00:00:28] My name is Alex.

[00:00:29] My name is Jerry.

[00:00:30] And today we are talking season finale of

[00:00:35] season one, episode eight of 1923,

[00:00:40] Nothing Left to Lose.

[00:00:41] And Jerry, can you believe we finally got here?

[00:00:46] Yeah, it's been a long road here.

[00:00:50] And it's, you know, eight episodes seem like

[00:00:53] it was gonna be so sharp,

[00:00:54] but with a break it seemed a little bit long.

[00:00:57] You know, and I know we were just talking right before the show.

[00:01:01] It's like, not that I want it to end cause I don't,

[00:01:04] but at the same time it's like finally, you know.

[00:01:07] It's a lot to take.

[00:01:08] I'm sorry?

[00:01:09] It's a lot to take.

[00:01:11] It is a lot to take.

[00:01:12] And we have a lot to talk about on this episode.

[00:01:17] And folks, you know, if you enjoy the podcast

[00:01:22] or you enjoy the show, please add comments to the,

[00:01:28] either the Facebook answer, I'm sorry,

[00:01:31] the YouTube or the Apple podcast.

[00:01:35] If you wanna give us a review or anything like that.

[00:01:39] So that said, what were some of your first thoughts?

[00:01:42] Oh wait, before we do that, we have to do description.

[00:01:44] Why don't you do your, your a,

[00:01:46] Gerrified description.

[00:01:49] Okay, well number one, no Isabel Mayne.

[00:01:52] It may narration, which kind of like gives me a sad face.

[00:01:55] Yes it does.

[00:01:56] I would have a sad face for that.

[00:01:57] I always liked hearing her voice,

[00:01:59] but to summarize, Tiona finds some love on the run.

[00:02:05] Banner and Whitfield are still colossal jerks.

[00:02:08] Jacob needs some cash to pay his property taxes.

[00:02:11] The Dutton suffer another tragedy

[00:02:13] and Spencer and Alexandra have one

[00:02:16] of the worst cruises ever.

[00:02:18] Pretty much you have got that nail on the head

[00:02:21] and we're done.

[00:02:22] So see you next season.

[00:02:23] And that was pretty much it.

[00:02:24] Now, you know, in terms of my first thoughts on the show,

[00:02:30] it wasn't the best episode.

[00:02:33] I'm not gonna lie for me.

[00:02:34] I mean, it was a great episode.

[00:02:36] It moves the story and it has a great cliffhanger.

[00:02:42] Again, it just, it was a good episode.

[00:02:48] It wasn't great.

[00:02:50] And I think that that's where it falls short for me.

[00:02:53] It has all the pieces that you want, couple pieces

[00:02:56] don't really need, but on the whole,

[00:03:00] if it was on a raining of one to five

[00:03:06] or one to six bullets,

[00:03:08] I'd give it probably a five and a half bullets.

[00:03:11] It's just, they did everything they needed to do.

[00:03:16] It just, there were some parts

[00:03:17] that it just kind of got slow.

[00:03:19] I don't know about you.

[00:03:20] I mean, what's your first thoughts?

[00:03:22] Well, I think that the parts with like the marshals

[00:03:27] were a little bit slow because you want them to pick up

[00:03:30] but they were kind of like piecing together

[00:03:32] what happened, what we saw with Tiona

[00:03:35] and the priest following her, getting ahold of Pete

[00:03:39] and catching up with her and her dad

[00:03:42] or her and Hank, excuse me, not her dad but Hank.

[00:03:45] Yeah, no.

[00:03:46] I mean, that definitely was some interesting story.

[00:03:51] So let's get into it.

[00:03:53] And the cold open goes right into the Indian storyline.

[00:04:00] Yes.

[00:04:01] And I find it kind of interesting

[00:04:04] how these marshals all vary.

[00:04:07] I should say all the law varies

[00:04:10] throughout the country at this point.

[00:04:16] Indians are basically not even third class

[00:04:19] but almost fourth class citizens if there was a thing.

[00:04:21] And we find out that there's some other citizens

[00:04:24] that probably go below them in some cases.

[00:04:28] But what did you think of the manhunt?

[00:04:32] Basically, the manhunt for Tiona and her dad

[00:04:37] and...

[00:04:42] Benny?

[00:04:44] I'm sorry.

[00:04:45] Pete?

[00:04:46] Yes, I'm sorry.

[00:04:47] I was gonna say, I don't know why I was thinking Benny.

[00:04:48] I don't know what I was thinking.

[00:04:50] And Pete, what was your take on that whole manhunt?

[00:04:56] Well, see here, because the father Renaud

[00:05:01] was talking with the lead marshal,

[00:05:02] the one that we saw knock the grandmother out

[00:05:06] a couple episodes ago and killer.

[00:05:10] The marshal's gonna start again.

[00:05:11] By the way, those two are a great match

[00:05:14] and they should have their own series.

[00:05:17] Jackass and dumbass could ride off into the sunset

[00:05:21] in my opinion, but anyway.

[00:05:23] Yeah, but he wants to say,

[00:05:25] father's gonna say we're gonna go along,

[00:05:27] we're gonna bring some marshals back

[00:05:28] and you're gonna come with us.

[00:05:30] And he's like, what?

[00:05:32] Do you like to ride?

[00:05:33] Oh yes, oh yeah.

[00:05:35] Yeah, it was like, well, you're the only one

[00:05:37] who knows who she looks like

[00:05:38] because they can't be sure what's gonna happen to them.

[00:05:40] They aren't sure what happened to the priests.

[00:05:42] Right.

[00:05:43] They have to say,

[00:05:49] we need you.

[00:05:50] And then they take off with,

[00:05:53] I think it's a total of five people that are on this trip.

[00:05:57] Going down.

[00:05:58] I love, I just wanna just jump back.

[00:06:00] That first scene, they have the room

[00:06:03] where the two girls or all the girls

[00:06:05] are sleeping or whatever

[00:06:06] and the beds are all rolled up

[00:06:08] and he mentioned something.

[00:06:09] Oh, where's their belongings?

[00:06:10] Oh, they don't have any belongings.

[00:06:12] It's just the lack of...

[00:06:20] I would say privacy.

[00:06:22] Privacy but humanity, I mean, people have stuff.

[00:06:27] Yeah.

[00:06:28] They deserve to have something.

[00:06:31] And the fact that the Americans

[00:06:35] or I should say the Christians

[00:06:37] were trying to purify them

[00:06:39] of all of their awful sins

[00:06:42] is just the way they did it is just...

[00:06:45] I mean...

[00:06:46] It's sickening.

[00:06:47] It is sickening.

[00:06:48] And I know anybody that's listening

[00:06:51] that either lives in that area or is Indian,

[00:06:58] probably is like, yeah, it's been going on since,

[00:07:00] I don't know, since Columbus

[00:07:03] and they just can't get a break.

[00:07:06] And it's just a shame that Taylor Sheridan does a great job

[00:07:12] and in terms of showing the realness of it,

[00:07:16] but at the same time,

[00:07:19] you don't wanna see it,

[00:07:20] but I guess you're forced to see it

[00:07:21] because you have to see it.

[00:07:23] So I just loved that whole palette of colors.

[00:07:28] It's just off, nothing vibrant,

[00:07:31] nothing happy about the church.

[00:07:35] You stick to church.

[00:07:36] So I'm sorry, so they end up keep going

[00:07:39] and then they find a couple of bodies.

[00:07:44] Yeah, and these are the ones that had Hank had a...

[00:07:48] Not Hank, but sorry.

[00:07:51] Tiona's dad had a...

[00:07:55] Hank had killed these guys,

[00:07:56] but her dad wrote Child Killer on the pair that was...

[00:08:01] Yes, oh yeah, that was nice.

[00:08:04] That was a nice extra touch.

[00:08:05] Yeah, and then wraps up Hank in a blanket for his...

[00:08:10] Oh, sorry.

[00:08:12] That's okay.

[00:08:14] But this part of the show is sponsored by Chester.

[00:08:19] Yes, when you need a support animal for 1923,

[00:08:27] you just grab a Chester and it's not a gun,

[00:08:30] but an actual cat

[00:08:32] and they will make you a lot more comfortable

[00:08:34] than any person that is trying to beat the Christian into you.

[00:08:39] Yes.

[00:08:40] So we were saying...

[00:08:41] Okay, yeah, because we have...

[00:08:45] When Tiona gets up and sees what's happening,

[00:08:52] because Pete's...

[00:08:56] So her dad had found her in that one spot,

[00:08:59] says, you know, I'm not hurt, I'm just sore.

[00:09:03] She's not eating, but in her face shows it.

[00:09:06] Yeah, and she looked like she was the punching bag

[00:09:08] from Mike Tyson's punch out.

[00:09:11] Yes.

[00:09:12] Yeah, and when they're gonna take her with

[00:09:16] and she goes out and talks with a little bit with Pete

[00:09:20] and this is when the episode goes into the cold open,

[00:09:25] we see them leave the spot where the priests were killed

[00:09:28] and Hank was wrapped up in a blanket,

[00:09:31] I think, you know, because I don't think they wanted

[00:09:33] to take the time to bury him at this point

[00:09:35] because they just had to hightail it at the heck out of there.

[00:09:39] And we go...

[00:09:40] And I'm gonna go with their story first.

[00:09:43] Yeah, sure.

[00:09:44] Yeah, so we see that Tiona when they're at a campfire,

[00:09:48] see Tiona talking with Pete

[00:09:50] and they kind of find some affection between the two

[00:09:52] and the dad's like, no, none of that,

[00:09:54] no googly eyes, no between you.

[00:09:56] I love this scene.

[00:09:58] I love it because he's just like,

[00:10:00] one, I can't deal with this.

[00:10:03] Two, he does make a very good point right now

[00:10:07] because if they are together,

[00:10:09] then that could jeopardize what they're doing.

[00:10:13] And three, he doesn't wanna deal with his daughter

[00:10:16] and boyfriends.

[00:10:17] Yes, exactly.

[00:10:19] I mean, let's go with what it is.

[00:10:20] Yeah, and he said something about thinking

[00:10:23] about the future and she's like,

[00:10:24] I don't think there's gonna be a future or something.

[00:10:27] Yeah, she's like in the now right now.

[00:10:29] Yeah, we're in the here and now.

[00:10:33] And just to go to the title of this,

[00:10:36] she's got nothing left to lose.

[00:10:38] Exactly.

[00:10:39] What I also noticed about that scene was he falls asleep

[00:10:44] and she just starts bawling into...

[00:10:47] Yeah, she finally could let it go.

[00:10:50] Like all that.

[00:10:50] Pete's arms.

[00:10:51] Yeah.

[00:10:52] And they're a great couple.

[00:10:53] I mean, they're both really cute in terms of,

[00:10:57] they don't know what they don't know

[00:10:58] and they're just having fun

[00:11:00] and they're the same age.

[00:11:02] So it's like, hey, you know, it's Slim Pickens.

[00:11:08] But no, I think they have that bond.

[00:11:10] He was in the schools.

[00:11:13] He got his beating.

[00:11:14] She was in the school.

[00:11:15] She got her beating.

[00:11:16] So it's a great way to kind of meet.

[00:11:20] But I do find it interesting is

[00:11:24] they said that they were gonna go down south.

[00:11:28] To Comanche Reservation.

[00:11:29] To Comanche's, because they can hide.

[00:11:31] And then they end up going north to Wyoming.

[00:11:35] And I think that...

[00:11:38] Oh, no, no.

[00:11:39] The Wyoming south.

[00:11:40] Oh, I'm sorry.

[00:11:41] Oh, geez.

[00:11:41] Yeah, they were taking a lot going...

[00:11:43] Some of us just don't know our maps anymore.

[00:11:46] And they end up doing that.

[00:11:47] But at the same time, you know,

[00:11:52] the law is on their tail.

[00:11:53] Yes.

[00:11:54] The law is on their tail.

[00:11:56] It's gonna be interesting if and when they do get caught.

[00:11:59] How is that going to affect everything?

[00:12:02] And by the time they do get caught,

[00:12:03] who knows when that can be?

[00:12:05] Because we don't know when season two is going to pick up.

[00:12:08] Yeah.

[00:12:09] But here, there's a kind of an intertwining...

[00:12:12] You know, that they go between the marshals

[00:12:14] and them in this part of the story

[00:12:16] is that we see the marshals

[00:12:18] at when they've come across the two other priests

[00:12:20] that have the word child killer written on them.

[00:12:22] And they're saying, well, where could they have gone?

[00:12:25] And they said, you know, tough out the winter.

[00:12:27] He said, well, that's kind of tough.

[00:12:28] They would go to any father says, Canada.

[00:12:30] And I was like, well, no.

[00:12:31] And then the marshals says, well,

[00:12:34] maybe somewhere friendly or somewhere they can hide.

[00:12:37] And they say, well, the Comanche's

[00:12:39] Comanche reservations here, but it's a long hard ride.

[00:12:44] And he said, okay, we're gonna take the train.

[00:12:46] And we'll meet him there.

[00:12:47] We'll meet him there.

[00:12:48] And then what we leave off Tiona and this trio with

[00:12:54] is that they are looking at some mountains to get over.

[00:12:57] And this is like probably the north side of the Rockies.

[00:13:02] Yeah.

[00:13:03] And I say, well, this is where we gotta go

[00:13:04] and it's not gonna be easy.

[00:13:06] No, no, it's not.

[00:13:07] I mean, you know, if anything,

[00:13:11] this show has proven that if you get any good thread,

[00:13:16] you're in for three bad punches.

[00:13:19] You know, it's like I punch you once,

[00:13:21] you get three back.

[00:13:22] And that alone could be its own series,

[00:13:26] then going through the Rockies.

[00:13:29] So yeah, no, I mean, and they've really proven

[00:13:32] that they can, they're tough in it.

[00:13:37] I mean, they are a tough breed and they know the land

[00:13:41] and they know what they need to do and how to do it.

[00:13:44] And they're gonna just protect themselves

[00:13:47] and he's trying to protect his daughter

[00:13:49] and his adopted son, so to speak.

[00:13:52] And they're going.

[00:13:54] So good luck to them and we'll see them hopefully

[00:13:58] not on the train, but on the other side

[00:14:01] of the rocks or the Rockies.

[00:14:05] And ahead of the law.

[00:14:07] And ahead of the law.

[00:14:08] I have a bad feeling they're not gonna be ahead of the law.

[00:14:11] And there's no way.

[00:14:13] I mean, you can't beat a train.

[00:14:17] So then we turn to the Dutton's.

[00:14:21] Jacob.

[00:14:23] And it's very interesting how quick

[00:14:29] they've moved technology.

[00:14:34] I don't know if it would have,

[00:14:35] if it really moved this quick or not,

[00:14:37] but it just seems like within a couple of months

[00:14:43] they went from prohibition, everybody's,

[00:14:47] you know, walking around in horses to,

[00:14:51] you know.

[00:14:52] Everybody's got a car.

[00:14:53] Everybody's got a car and there's no posts

[00:14:56] for the horses anymore.

[00:14:58] Yeah.

[00:14:59] And they make their own, they make their own hitching posts.

[00:15:02] It's like, well, you took my parking spot away

[00:15:04] so I'm gonna make a new one.

[00:15:05] Exactly.

[00:15:07] This is when Jacob and his boys

[00:15:09] go to the Arrayment of Banner.

[00:15:13] Courthouse.

[00:15:14] And this is kind of an interesting thing

[00:15:16] because this is kind of the first stake

[00:15:19] in the Dutton's coffin in terms of what's right

[00:15:26] doesn't mean what fits in the law.

[00:15:29] And this is where I think modernization

[00:15:36] is coming to the Yellowstone

[00:15:39] because just because it's not business as usual.

[00:15:45] It's not business as usual.

[00:15:47] He goes to the bank.

[00:15:48] He basically, the banker tells him,

[00:15:50] hey, we've always worked on a handshake.

[00:15:53] I've always paid my loans.

[00:15:56] Well, it's a different world now.

[00:15:58] We're more mechanized, we're more this, we're more that.

[00:16:01] And he's getting painted into a corner.

[00:16:05] So he goes to the courthouse

[00:16:07] and what ends up happening?

[00:16:09] Well here his lawyer gets him off of the,

[00:16:13] not off the charge but released without bail.

[00:16:16] Is because it's like, well there's no real evidence

[00:16:19] and there's evidence against Dutton

[00:16:21] because my client has a rope burn on his neck

[00:16:24] from where he tried to hang me.

[00:16:26] See but this is what I don't understand about that whole scene.

[00:16:29] Okay, one, first off, Dutton was,

[00:16:35] he was within the rights to do what he did

[00:16:39] because he's on his land.

[00:16:40] And that's the law right now until it's changed.

[00:16:44] And then he's on his land too.

[00:16:46] He just admitted that he tried to attempt to kill him

[00:16:52] and everybody kind of glossed over that.

[00:16:55] And I don't understand why they keep glossing.

[00:16:57] I mean, this isn't the first time

[00:16:59] that Banner has basically said, I've tried to kill you

[00:17:03] and maybe I'm reading into it more or something.

[00:17:08] Did you find that too, Jerry?

[00:17:11] Yeah, because he said, when he's leaving the courthouse

[00:17:16] says I'm looking at a ghost.

[00:17:18] Yeah, it's like, I mean, he just goes on and on and on.

[00:17:23] And we realize Banner is just a pawn in this whole game

[00:17:29] and he can be thrown away as quickly as anything

[00:17:36] and he doesn't get generational wealth.

[00:17:40] He doesn't get what Timothy Dalton is trying to push.

[00:17:43] He doesn't understand it.

[00:17:45] And neither does the Dutton's either.

[00:17:50] I mean, they don't understand the way the world is becoming.

[00:17:58] And then after that whole scene,

[00:18:00] I mean, the judge is like,

[00:18:02] I'll throw you all out and put you in jail

[00:18:03] and let you fight it all out there.

[00:18:06] Something interesting happens when they leave the courthouse.

[00:18:11] Or right before they go, yeah, no, right after they leave.

[00:18:16] Somebody's watching them the whole time

[00:18:18] and it's pissing me off.

[00:18:21] And for lack of a better term,

[00:18:23] Deputy Red is just watching them like a hawk

[00:18:27] and it's, oh God.

[00:18:30] I thought he was a deputy.

[00:18:32] I thought he was gonna be more...

[00:18:36] I thought he didn't have this much free time

[00:18:38] to do what he's doing.

[00:18:40] He's everywhere.

[00:18:41] I mean, he's basically shadowing the Dutton's.

[00:18:45] Chasing a lot, yeah.

[00:18:46] Shadowing the Dutton's.

[00:18:47] And it's just, it's wrong.

[00:18:50] But Zeke goes to his family.

[00:18:56] Zane.

[00:18:56] Zane goes to his family.

[00:18:58] I don't, oh geez.

[00:18:59] Zane goes to his family

[00:19:01] and we find that he does have a family.

[00:19:04] We didn't realize that before.

[00:19:07] Zane's family is multicultural, which we find.

[00:19:13] She's Asian and I guess he doesn't get to see his family

[00:19:19] all that often.

[00:19:20] So they're saving water, so to speak

[00:19:24] in the shower, which was a great scene with the kids.

[00:19:28] Why are you saying, how are you?

[00:19:30] How do you know what that...

[00:19:31] Yeah, and the whole thing.

[00:19:33] And it was a great thing.

[00:19:35] And she is not at all a country bumpkin.

[00:19:41] Again, the women in this show are the heart of the show.

[00:19:46] The men are the ones that are...

[00:19:51] The dummies it seems.

[00:19:55] But that said, the child was right.

[00:20:01] There was somebody watching him.

[00:20:03] Yeah, I see a monster outside my window.

[00:20:05] Yeah, there was a monster, a red-headed monster.

[00:20:07] Yeah, and it's Deputy Red, like you call them.

[00:20:09] Deputy Red.

[00:20:10] And just to follow the whole storyline at the end of it

[00:20:16] the police bust in and...

[00:20:20] Do you remember what the charge was?

[00:20:22] Violating the anti-miscegenation law of Montana,

[00:20:27] which is disgusting.

[00:20:29] So basically he called his kids mongrels.

[00:20:32] And beat the shit out of them.

[00:20:34] Like they beat the crap out of the Indian girls at the camp.

[00:20:41] Yeah, and they beat the hell out of Zayn

[00:20:44] because he tried to stop them.

[00:20:47] Right.

[00:20:48] And the officer said something like,

[00:20:51] I would take you in too,

[00:20:52] but I don't want the mongrel kids in my car.

[00:20:54] And it's like...

[00:20:55] Yeah, it was just so bizarre.

[00:20:58] And again, I know it's a different time and whatever else,

[00:21:01] but it's like, you know,

[00:21:03] it just goes to show you what they're trying to do

[00:21:09] is they're trying to corner the Dutton's.

[00:21:11] They're trying to paint them into a corner

[00:21:12] so they have nowhere else to go.

[00:21:14] And it's just kind of awful.

[00:21:21] You know, do you want to continue with the Dutton story?

[00:21:25] Do you want to go across the pond yet?

[00:21:27] Let's continue on with the Dutton story.

[00:21:28] Okay, so why don't you just...

[00:21:30] What's your next...

[00:21:34] Yeah, okay.

[00:21:34] So we have Jacob going to the bank,

[00:21:37] you know, like we said about getting the loan

[00:21:39] and when he's leaving the bank,

[00:21:41] we see possibly another spy making a telephone call.

[00:21:44] Right.

[00:21:45] Yeah, so we don't know.

[00:21:46] You know, that's why I think he made a call to Whitfield.

[00:21:48] So he said, you know, we're not gonna...

[00:21:51] They said saying no is like one of the quicker things

[00:21:54] you can do in the bank along with robbing it.

[00:21:57] Yeah, robbing it.

[00:21:58] And then he comes out, he's like,

[00:21:59] oh, I guess you said no.

[00:22:00] He's like, well, you know, I really didn't have a choice.

[00:22:03] Yes, exactly.

[00:22:05] So we have the Dutton's suffering another loss

[00:22:10] with Elizabeth suffering a miscarriage and losing a baby.

[00:22:13] And after that scene, after the doctor said,

[00:22:17] she lost the baby, Jack takes some comfort,

[00:22:23] comforts her in saying, you know, with some words

[00:22:24] and just like being with her.

[00:22:26] I want to kind of expand upon that

[00:22:28] because you know, Jack obviously is not exactly

[00:22:31] the most cultured person in the world.

[00:22:33] And we all know this, it's not like it's a big secret

[00:22:36] and he's a hothead and he's all these other things.

[00:22:39] But you know what?

[00:22:40] That's what makes him such a great character.

[00:22:42] You know, he's simple, he knows what he is.

[00:22:44] And you know, that little speech that he had,

[00:22:49] I think was perfect.

[00:22:50] Because it was in terms that he knows.

[00:22:54] And this goes back to the main series, I think,

[00:22:58] in terms of they're not dumb.

[00:23:02] They're just simple.

[00:23:05] And I think there's a big difference

[00:23:07] between dumb and simple.

[00:23:09] You know, hey, it happens.

[00:23:13] Cows do this, horses do this.

[00:23:17] And I love how he spins it around

[00:23:21] when Elizabeth talks about, well, you know,

[00:23:25] I have no purpose now.

[00:23:27] Well, yeah, you do because who raised me?

[00:23:30] It wasn't my mom, it was my aunt.

[00:23:33] She raised everybody.

[00:23:35] She raised this whole ranch.

[00:23:36] And if that's our lot, then that's our lot.

[00:23:39] But you know, at the same time,

[00:23:40] I know it had just happened.

[00:23:42] So the sting is still there.

[00:23:45] But people have to remember.

[00:23:47] I mean, I know with my own grandmother,

[00:23:49] she had three or four miscarriages

[00:23:51] before she had my mother.

[00:23:53] You know what I mean?

[00:23:53] So these things happen and it was on a regular basis.

[00:23:56] Didn't have the prenatal care.

[00:23:57] Didn't have all the different things that I have today.

[00:23:59] So it's not uncommon that you have miscarriages.

[00:24:04] But at the same time, when you do,

[00:24:05] is it like, is it me?

[00:24:07] Am I unlucky?

[00:24:09] Am I this?

[00:24:09] Am I that?

[00:24:10] So I mean, that's a great slice of the West

[00:24:16] or life in the 20s and even today.

[00:24:20] Cause there's people that can, you know,

[00:24:22] have miscarriages with all the science that we have

[00:24:25] that, you know, getting over something like that

[00:24:28] just doesn't always happen.

[00:24:31] Yeah, and it's a lot.

[00:24:32] You know, I would say, you don't,

[00:24:34] I don't know the actual number,

[00:24:35] but it's like, it's probably higher than you think it is.

[00:24:38] And the amount of miscarriages

[00:24:39] that actually happened still today.

[00:24:41] Oh, I mean, I have friends that have multiple.

[00:24:43] I've had multiple.

[00:24:45] So it's one of those things that if it does,

[00:24:49] if it does hit your family, it's awful.

[00:24:54] But you know, there's people that try and try and try.

[00:24:59] I mean, go to fertility clinics, all that kind of stuff.

[00:25:03] And at least we have that today versus back then

[00:25:07] where it was just either it worked or it did it.

[00:25:11] Yeah.

[00:25:12] And of course, you know, Dr. Happy is always there.

[00:25:17] That doctor, man, it's like, dude,

[00:25:19] I mean, he cannot be any less,

[00:25:21] his bedside manner is not exactly the best,

[00:25:24] but you know, what can you do in this situation

[00:25:27] except rest and try to not get over

[00:25:32] but move on as much as you can

[00:25:37] with the situation that it is.

[00:25:40] And it's just sad because we had such a great,

[00:25:42] she had such a great last episode with the baking

[00:25:45] and just being part of the Duttons.

[00:25:49] Yeah.

[00:25:50] You know, it was just so sad, but it is what it is.

[00:25:55] Yeah.

[00:25:56] And then comes the next morning with...

[00:25:59] I'm rolling my eyes folks, because it's, oh God.

[00:26:03] With Whitfield coming by,

[00:26:05] and we see the guys come in from the pasture land

[00:26:13] riding their horses, bunch of guns get drawn

[00:26:17] and Whitfield after they calm the situation down a bit

[00:26:20] and turn the temperature down,

[00:26:23] he tells them that I paid your property taxes.

[00:26:26] Yeah.

[00:26:27] That was kind of a little sneaky thing that he did.

[00:26:31] Yeah.

[00:26:32] And kind of get around it to like encumber the,

[00:26:35] because he said, well, then you need to pay it back.

[00:26:37] And he has no way of paying it back at the moment

[00:26:39] without his loan, because when he went and saw the banker

[00:26:42] when Jacob said, oh, I don't wanna get a mortgage

[00:26:45] because he said you have, banker says,

[00:26:47] you have 30 years to pay this off

[00:26:49] and you have that luxury and it's like,

[00:26:51] and lets his pride get in the way

[00:26:52] and doesn't take the mortgage.

[00:26:53] Like I don't have 30 years.

[00:26:55] He doesn't understand how money works.

[00:26:58] It's not, again, he's not dumb.

[00:27:00] He just doesn't understand the basic finances.

[00:27:04] But I do wanna go back a little bit to that scene

[00:27:06] when it first starts.

[00:27:11] Everybody's pulling guns, right?

[00:27:13] Well, it just goes to show you

[00:27:16] even the difference in the guns.

[00:27:19] Whitfield's boys have a Tommy gun

[00:27:22] that could take it all, this could all be over.

[00:27:24] The show could have been over in like about three seconds.

[00:27:28] Versus the single or double action,

[00:27:32] I mean, rifles that they had, which are great,

[00:27:36] but that's not what you need.

[00:27:38] You don't bring a knife to a gunfight

[00:27:39] and that's what they were bringing to this gunfight.

[00:27:41] And it was pretty amazing that Cara basically stepped in

[00:27:45] because she, I think in the long run,

[00:27:48] she's the savior of Yellowstone.

[00:27:51] I think she's the one that's gonna save this.

[00:27:53] It's certainly not gonna be the guys

[00:27:56] because she's the only one that has the,

[00:27:58] that can put the knife in the heart.

[00:28:01] And as much as,

[00:28:11] they're trying to protect her,

[00:28:12] she's the one that's been doing everything.

[00:28:15] She's the glue.

[00:28:18] And Jacob is like,

[00:28:19] oh, I don't know what I'd do without you.

[00:28:21] You've been there for 50 years, all this kind of stuff.

[00:28:24] And it's just like, dude, you don't get it.

[00:28:26] She's the one that should be up front.

[00:28:28] I mean, she cools the situation,

[00:28:31] but she's also just not smart enough

[00:28:33] to know the way business works either.

[00:28:35] I mean, let's call it what it is.

[00:28:39] He got shafted by the bank

[00:28:41] because we know what Wiffield did.

[00:28:44] He's like, you're not giving them credit

[00:28:46] under no circumstances or I'll pull my money out

[00:28:48] or whatever, he threatened them.

[00:28:50] So all he had, he's pulling strings right now.

[00:28:54] But in that conversation,

[00:28:59] there was a humongous Easter egg.

[00:29:04] Did you pick it up or?

[00:29:06] What's gonna be big around here and tourism?

[00:29:10] And what has been the problem since Yellowstone started?

[00:29:14] It's the East coming West.

[00:29:18] People wanting to see this land.

[00:29:21] One of the first scenes in Yellowstone is what it is.

[00:29:27] The bus driver.

[00:29:29] Shooting at an Asian bus, get off my land.

[00:29:34] It's not your land.

[00:29:35] Oh, that's too much land for one person.

[00:29:37] Well, that's what it is.

[00:29:39] And that's what we're in America for.

[00:29:41] But I think that that's been the silver lining,

[00:29:47] but the lining between all the shows.

[00:29:51] And protecting this land is what it's like.

[00:29:55] I mean, it's almost like the Yellowstone

[00:29:57] is its own character.

[00:29:58] Correct.

[00:29:59] And so anyway, I didn't mean to steal your thunder on that.

[00:30:03] It's just, I just thought that was such a great scene.

[00:30:08] Yeah, and a nice foretelling of the future

[00:30:12] and what's gonna happen.

[00:30:14] I mean...

[00:30:15] And Whitfield's right.

[00:30:16] You know, there's like a lot of tourism around there.

[00:30:19] But you know what the thing is?

[00:30:21] There's always a Whitfield.

[00:30:23] I mean, how many seasons do we have?

[00:30:24] We've had six.

[00:30:25] We've had five or six different bad guys.

[00:30:28] Exactly.

[00:30:29] And it's always a new bad guy trying to do the same thing.

[00:30:31] Take over the Yellowstone, take over the, bring progress.

[00:30:35] And there's a fine line between progress

[00:30:39] and preserving the past.

[00:30:41] And I don't know what that is,

[00:30:42] but I don't know if necessarily the Dutton's are right,

[00:30:46] but they're not wrong.

[00:30:49] You know what I mean?

[00:30:50] It's a hard situation because they're not right.

[00:30:54] You know, you, but they're still, they're not wrong either.

[00:30:58] In my opinion, of course it's my opinion.

[00:31:01] There is a way to do it,

[00:31:03] but it's just finding that all parties can agree to

[00:31:06] is hard because compromise is not easy.

[00:31:10] But you know, the Dutton's compromise is,

[00:31:13] they don't have a compromise.

[00:31:15] This is my land.

[00:31:16] I can do what I want with it.

[00:31:18] You know, I put every post in here, this is my land.

[00:31:21] Well, no, yes it is, it is.

[00:31:23] But at the same time, you know,

[00:31:26] this also goes back to what Beth said.

[00:31:31] It's not about the cattle.

[00:31:34] It's about the other end.

[00:31:36] It's the meat.

[00:31:38] It's not about the cattle.

[00:31:41] The cattle business is dead.

[00:31:42] It's about producing the meat so that people can eat.

[00:31:46] And if they had thought about that,

[00:31:48] then they'd have a totally different outcome

[00:31:53] and they would be bigger than any minor or any tourism

[00:31:58] and they could keep it anyway they want

[00:32:00] because nobody's gonna be around cause they don't care.

[00:32:02] Cause they could put 20 foot walls all the way around

[00:32:05] the whole entire state and nobody cared.

[00:32:07] If they're making that much money,

[00:32:09] which which field has proven that money talks.

[00:32:11] Yeah.

[00:32:12] So yeah, I mean, that was just such a,

[00:32:18] that was heartbreaking because he basically took the air

[00:32:21] right out of the Dutton's.

[00:32:23] And he thinks he has checkmate.

[00:32:27] We know he doesn't because of one reason.

[00:32:29] There's a show that goes ahead of him

[00:32:31] and he's not around but it definitely was,

[00:32:36] it definitely looked like a checkmate.

[00:32:39] And we gotta see what Jacob does.

[00:32:42] Either he gets the mortgage to pay it off

[00:32:45] or something's gonna happen.

[00:32:48] So, what do you wanna go from here?

[00:32:51] Let's go to the Mediterranean Sea aboard the majestic.

[00:32:57] Okay.

[00:32:57] So my favorite part.

[00:33:00] Yes.

[00:33:01] And we still have to talk about another favorite part,

[00:33:03] not favorite but a part nonetheless.

[00:33:07] So we are on the majestic and our favorite couple

[00:33:12] is basically not locked up in the room yet

[00:33:16] but they're just laying low.

[00:33:18] Yeah, well they're boarding the ship

[00:33:20] and they see Arthur there with his family.

[00:33:24] So she's like, and she's like,

[00:33:27] ah shit, what are we gonna do?

[00:33:28] Oh, hang on, sorry.

[00:33:30] You wanna see that?

[00:33:31] That's okay.

[00:33:31] You wanna see it down, okay.

[00:33:33] So yeah, we see Arthur getting on the ship with his family

[00:33:38] and so that happens.

[00:33:41] So they said, well, let's just hold up in the room forever

[00:33:46] and she ends up having some seasickness

[00:33:48] and goes out to deck with find some relief.

[00:33:51] Spencer takes her out there

[00:33:52] so you need to see the horizon.

[00:33:54] Right.

[00:33:56] Get your legs underneath you.

[00:33:58] And a friend of Alex says that

[00:33:59] she left back in Africa, her name's Jennifer,

[00:34:02] catches up with her, kind of what's happening.

[00:34:03] So he's just gonna do this with you and like ditch you

[00:34:08] and then she shows her the ring.

[00:34:09] It's like, nope, he's not.

[00:34:11] We're together and this thing is forever

[00:34:15] and away we go.

[00:34:19] So Alex decides, you know what?

[00:34:23] We're gonna take this out for a spin.

[00:34:25] Yeah, we're gonna go to dinner.

[00:34:26] And we're gonna go to dinner

[00:34:27] and Spencer's gotta clean himself up

[00:34:30] and of course he looks as dashed as he could be

[00:34:33] and she looks as amazing as she could be

[00:34:37] as the flapper would be in.

[00:34:39] I love the flapper dress she was wearing.

[00:34:40] Yeah, I mean sparkling head to toe

[00:34:44] and then they decided to go to dinner

[00:34:46] and all hell breaks loose.

[00:34:48] Yeah, we have Arthur's very jealous,

[00:34:51] you know it's always being the uptight jerk that he is

[00:34:55] and they have a small confrontation on the dance floor

[00:34:57] when we see them like he's,

[00:35:01] does the like bumps into say,

[00:35:04] Oh, he purposely bumped into him looking for a fight.

[00:35:07] Yeah, and I love his Spencer telling

[00:35:11] like coming up to Arthur and whispering in his ear,

[00:35:13] it's like you have about 30 seconds of this bullshitting me

[00:35:16] then I'm gonna mop the fucking floor with you.

[00:35:18] I know, I know, I know.

[00:35:20] I mean, and that's the thing.

[00:35:22] I mean, he really, if there is a guy

[00:35:26] that is not looking for anything and just gets his shit,

[00:35:32] like it's like the whole world decides to dump garbage

[00:35:36] on top of him every single time he walks

[00:35:38] and all he's trying to do is the right thing.

[00:35:40] Yeah, and he wants to,

[00:35:42] he just wants to take his wife and go home.

[00:35:44] Not even that.

[00:35:45] He just, he's not even bothering anybody

[00:35:47] and it's like boom.

[00:35:49] But what I, right before that,

[00:35:51] right before that moment,

[00:35:52] you know, I thought there was a really cool moment

[00:35:55] between Spencer and Alex because he knew how to dance.

[00:35:58] Oh yeah, Kara said my aunt taught me how to dance

[00:36:02] because we thought we should have some culture.

[00:36:04] Exactly, you know, hey, you gotta put some culture in ya.

[00:36:07] But I just think that that's really, it's important.

[00:36:10] You know, I mean, that's a nice little touch.

[00:36:13] Now, the thing about Alex that you have to point at is

[00:36:18] she has not exactly been as truthful.

[00:36:21] Yeah.

[00:36:23] Actually, no, that's not true.

[00:36:27] She has-

[00:36:29] She's holding back information.

[00:36:31] Well, she's just not saying what the whole situation is

[00:36:35] with her and her fiance.

[00:36:37] Now, you know, for her to

[00:36:42] sew her royal oats as they like to say

[00:36:45] in coming to America,

[00:36:48] basically that's what we're doing here

[00:36:50] if from an outsider looking in.

[00:36:53] So you have Spencer who has just fought in the Great War

[00:37:00] with people from England

[00:37:04] who are not exactly the same station

[00:37:08] as the people on that boat.

[00:37:10] He's a hunter, he's a fighter,

[00:37:12] he's a crazy wild American.

[00:37:15] He's not this cultured American either.

[00:37:17] And then we get, oh my gosh.

[00:37:22] I mean, could it be any more of a,

[00:37:27] a Hamilton type moment?

[00:37:29] I was waiting for him to take the glove off

[00:37:31] and slap it in his face.

[00:37:32] And next thing you know, we've got a duel.

[00:37:34] Yes.

[00:37:35] Yeah, he did.

[00:37:36] He did.

[00:37:37] Well, we spent some time watching Arthur

[00:37:39] let the liquid courage kind of talk for him.

[00:37:42] He's getting drunker and drunker

[00:37:46] and his father tells him something like,

[00:37:50] be happy you're gonna marry someone who loves you

[00:37:52] and she didn't really love you.

[00:37:54] So be happy he didn't marry her.

[00:37:56] Right.

[00:37:57] And so he kind of-

[00:37:59] And the father was actually supportive.

[00:38:03] And the father knows what the deal is

[00:38:07] and Spencer's like, listen, I don't wanna do this.

[00:38:12] It's like, you're gonna get hurt

[00:38:14] and it's not gonna be pretty.

[00:38:16] Yeah.

[00:38:16] And then Spencer told me,

[00:38:17] yeah, Spencer told me he's like,

[00:38:18] you do not want me to fight him

[00:38:21] because he's gonna, you know,

[00:38:23] it's gonna end up well

[00:38:24] because when he did the glove slap,

[00:38:26] you know, Arthur slapped Spencer with a glove,

[00:38:28] he did like just a straight out kick and knocked him down.

[00:38:33] Right.

[00:38:34] Yeah.

[00:38:36] No, I just think that that's pretty,

[00:38:39] it was just pretty funny.

[00:38:41] So they have the duel.

[00:38:44] And then we come to find out what

[00:38:48] that Alex has not exactly been so truthful.

[00:38:52] And the reason being is one of the

[00:38:57] ship's mates goes to the captain and says,

[00:39:00] what is this title again?

[00:39:03] He's a count of-

[00:39:07] Oh, Sussex was it or I can't,

[00:39:10] oh, I don't remember the-

[00:39:12] Who's the Duke of Essex, I believe.

[00:39:14] Essex, excuse me, yeah.

[00:39:16] I believe he was the Duke of Essex,

[00:39:18] which is a little high up the food chain.

[00:39:23] Okay?

[00:39:24] And Alex is what?

[00:39:28] Countess, exactly.

[00:39:30] So we're not exactly talking about two little,

[00:39:35] just couple people from England with some money.

[00:39:37] These people have title privilege and everything else.

[00:39:41] So, you know, they have the duel.

[00:39:45] Of course it's on the deck.

[00:39:47] It's a controlled and controlled environment.

[00:39:50] And with swords, which he's never used before.

[00:39:56] And of course, you know, the Duke is an expert swordsman.

[00:40:02] And I love that.

[00:40:04] Have you ever used a sword before?

[00:40:05] No.

[00:40:06] Oh God, he's an expert.

[00:40:07] Yeah, it doesn't matter.

[00:40:09] So they have their fight.

[00:40:10] Yeah, and he's three times disarms him and punches him.

[00:40:15] You know, and the final time he's like,

[00:40:17] he punches him several times

[00:40:18] and drags him over to his father.

[00:40:22] And he's like-

[00:40:23] His father stops it and stops him.

[00:40:25] He's like steps on, put his foot on a sword.

[00:40:29] And Arthur's screaming, I do not yield, do not yield.

[00:40:33] He pulls a pistol, runs towards, you know,

[00:40:35] run towards Spencer and Spencer

[00:40:38] in my favorite part of the episode,

[00:40:40] which kind of like surprised me and made me do a yell

[00:40:42] and like put my hand over my mouth was,

[00:40:46] yeets him over the deck really.

[00:40:48] Oh absolutely, he eats him right over.

[00:40:51] And all of a sudden, now we went from,

[00:40:56] he should have yielded because he was an idiot to-

[00:41:00] And probably still drunk.

[00:41:02] To Spencer's going in the brig

[00:41:06] because he's gonna be charged for murder.

[00:41:10] And Alex is screaming that he pulled a gun.

[00:41:15] And I just think it's really,

[00:41:19] of course it was telling nobody admitted that he pulled a gun

[00:41:22] even though they all saw it.

[00:41:24] Except for one person, her best friend.

[00:41:27] Yeah.

[00:41:28] And you know, because she's a woman at the time,

[00:41:32] it didn't count.

[00:41:34] Yeah, until the next day when-

[00:41:37] They did the investigation and they had to admit

[00:41:42] that her voice was actually legitimate.

[00:41:50] Yeah.

[00:41:50] So,

[00:41:52] Hang on one more time.

[00:41:53] Okay, we got another Chester interlude.

[00:41:57] Okay, sorry about that.

[00:41:58] Which is fine.

[00:41:59] So I love how news,

[00:42:02] good news goes slow but bad news goes even faster

[00:42:06] when it comes to boats.

[00:42:07] So next thing you know, the king is involved.

[00:42:12] The actual king of England is involved.

[00:42:14] Was he?

[00:42:15] I don't know.

[00:42:16] Yes, because that was the-

[00:42:20] The way the king was involved was very simple.

[00:42:23] Because of their station, they went up.

[00:42:25] They wanted to make sure they protect the crown.

[00:42:29] And what was the deal that they made?

[00:42:30] Oh, you can, your life is fine.

[00:42:33] You're gonna, you can leave the ship.

[00:42:35] Oh, by the way, you're leaving the girl.

[00:42:37] Yeah.

[00:42:38] And the problem is, is Alex is not exactly

[00:42:43] the type to take no for an answer as we found out.

[00:42:49] Yeah.

[00:42:50] Did she ever?

[00:42:51] What's that?

[00:42:51] Did she ever take no for an answer?

[00:42:53] I don't think she was arguing when she came out

[00:42:58] of the queen's birth.

[00:43:02] But yeah, but I'm just saying,

[00:43:04] and that whole scene was just absolutely heartbreaking

[00:43:08] because it's a great cliffhanger.

[00:43:09] I love that she kept the letters

[00:43:11] and she was yelling to him about the fact

[00:43:14] that she's going to Montana.

[00:43:17] And, you know, there's still a question

[00:43:21] if they do ever see each other again.

[00:43:26] Because despite his marriage,

[00:43:28] he doesn't have time to mess around with this.

[00:43:30] He's gotta get back to the Yellowstone

[00:43:32] and deal with the problems at hand.

[00:43:34] So, yeah.

[00:43:35] So you may see a parallel track of him going home

[00:43:38] and her and her following.

[00:43:41] So exactly when that's gonna,

[00:43:43] you know, exactly what's gonna happen will see.

[00:43:44] I mean, I hope she makes it to Yellowstone

[00:43:46] because I think she will be such a great addition

[00:43:51] for Elizabeth.

[00:43:53] And she's basically a younger Cara.

[00:43:57] I mean, God, she's even worse.

[00:44:00] As far as like,

[00:44:01] the thing about her is

[00:44:04] she could go head to head with anybody.

[00:44:06] Oh, that minor?

[00:44:07] Yeah, I can take care of him.

[00:44:09] Now she might get written off from the family,

[00:44:12] so to speak, but you know,

[00:44:13] even Harry is written off,

[00:44:15] but he's still a royal, so to speak.

[00:44:19] And, but yeah, but here's the thing

[00:44:22] is that did you catch something that,

[00:44:25] you know, there was two different things

[00:44:27] that I caught that may speak of,

[00:44:31] you know, what's gonna happen in her future?

[00:44:33] Okay.

[00:44:34] Okay, in that, we think,

[00:44:37] we're thinking that, you know,

[00:44:38] it was sea sickness when she's like in bed

[00:44:43] and okay, let's keep that in mind.

[00:44:47] And when she's talking to her friend,

[00:44:49] like when the Spencer first takes her up on the deck

[00:44:52] and says, you know, my concern

[00:44:54] is not the family back in England,

[00:44:55] but the family I'm starting with, you know, here.

[00:44:57] And I'm thinking, did she just signal she's pregnant?

[00:45:00] Maybe?

[00:45:01] Possibly.

[00:45:02] Possibly.

[00:45:04] Possibly.

[00:45:04] I mean, when you first started,

[00:45:06] I didn't know where you were going with that,

[00:45:07] but right when you had said that,

[00:45:08] I'm like, oh, maybe we have a little,

[00:45:10] a little Spencer in the oven.

[00:45:12] So we'll see what that happens

[00:45:13] because they have been together for a while

[00:45:16] and then she's made no-

[00:45:17] Things do happen.

[00:45:18] Yeah, and she's made no secret of, you know,

[00:45:21] they said, you know,

[00:45:22] we spent all this time consummating

[00:45:25] and having no reception really.

[00:45:26] Exactly, so they were gonna have the reception.

[00:45:30] You know, I just wanna kind of put a bow on the last scene

[00:45:34] because I think that it's really important

[00:45:36] while he's rowing or he's getting rowed

[00:45:39] to the mainland, so to speak,

[00:45:42] to the port, she's yelling and screaming

[00:45:45] and then where do they cut to?

[00:45:48] Well, they cut to the captain telling Arthur's father,

[00:45:53] he says, you may question their marriage,

[00:45:55] but it's difficult to question their sincerity.

[00:45:59] Yes.

[00:46:01] And what was the last scene of the-

[00:46:03] Oh, very last, okay.

[00:46:04] And that's why I wanted to hold, oh, geez.

[00:46:07] Okay.

[00:46:07] We have another Chester alert here folks.

[00:46:10] Okay.

[00:46:10] Yet we're, we cut back to Kara with one of her letters.

[00:46:15] You know, she has it in a,

[00:46:18] she has the letter,

[00:46:20] kind of like what she was talking about last time

[00:46:22] is that it's more journaling than anything.

[00:46:24] And he says, a letter to Spencer saying,

[00:46:28] we fear everything that's gonna,

[00:46:30] everything that we've worked for is gonna be lost

[00:46:32] and you must hurry

[00:46:34] or there's gonna be nothing left to fight for.

[00:46:36] Right.

[00:46:37] And she crumples up the letter

[00:46:38] and starts walking back to the house

[00:46:42] and-

[00:46:43] Bro, it's done.

[00:46:44] And it's-

[00:46:45] I do wanna go back to one other thing

[00:46:48] that had happened in the show,

[00:46:50] but the Dutton's have proven

[00:46:54] that they are the embodiment of resiliency.

[00:46:58] And

[00:47:00] they, their show should be sponsored by Kleenex

[00:47:04] because all they do is cry

[00:47:06] and cry either tears of joy or tears of pain.

[00:47:12] And you know, Jacob is getting old.

[00:47:16] I mean, he, you know, Harrison Ford,

[00:47:19] I don't know if he looks like this now

[00:47:20] or they made him look like that.

[00:47:21] He is not looking good.

[00:47:23] He looks like that.

[00:47:24] I'm just saying, I mean, you know,

[00:47:26] I mean, he's getting old.

[00:47:27] I mean, he's not a young guy,

[00:47:29] but I'm just saying it's like,

[00:47:31] you can tell that the days, the months, the years

[00:47:36] have really kind of

[00:47:41] done a number on him.

[00:47:43] Yeah, well, yeah.

[00:47:44] Well, there's no freelance in nature.

[00:47:45] I mean, you do a lot of, you know,

[00:47:48] tough stuff in life.

[00:47:49] Your body is going to respond to it.

[00:47:51] Believe me, I know.

[00:47:52] And yeah, I mean, and that's the thing.

[00:47:54] And the person that really should have

[00:47:57] taken over a Spencer and he's just not there yet.

[00:48:00] And the other one that should have taken over got shot.

[00:48:03] Yeah. So, I mean, all he has is him.

[00:48:07] He has him and his wife

[00:48:09] and they've been married for 50 years.

[00:48:10] He's got nobody else because Jack's just not ready.

[00:48:13] Jack is totally not ready.

[00:48:15] Totally.

[00:48:16] Spencer would be ready.

[00:48:18] Well, I mean, it's just, but

[00:48:21] he's a good lieutenant.

[00:48:22] He's just not, he's not ready to be king, so to speak.

[00:48:25] Yeah.

[00:48:26] I do want to go back to one thing after the after the

[00:48:31] or the talk with

[00:48:34] banner.

[00:48:38] This is has to be the most bizarre scene

[00:48:43] or storyline in the whole.

[00:48:45] I still, I don't get.

[00:48:48] I mean, I get what he's trying, what they're trying to do.

[00:48:52] It's obvious what they're trying to do.

[00:48:54] But at the same time, I don't get why they're doing it this way.

[00:48:59] It just makes no sense.

[00:49:04] So he's talking to banner and

[00:49:08] with fields talking to banner and

[00:49:12] they're at the house, banners house,

[00:49:14] and they're talking about being rich versus being immortal.

[00:49:19] And this whole conversation.

[00:49:22] And then the two, one of the prostitutes comes down and fine.

[00:49:27] Now, these prostitutes have not left since that,

[00:49:30] I'm assuming since the last morning, yeah,

[00:49:34] which who knows how long this has been.

[00:49:36] I think it's been two days, a couple days.

[00:49:38] And and, you know,

[00:49:41] he's he's trying to just, you know,

[00:49:47] if you want to call it teach them power versus

[00:49:50] pain and all this other stuff.

[00:49:52] And these two girls are getting the crappy out of them.

[00:49:55] And, you know, the one girl is kind of liking it.

[00:49:58] And then she has to switch and she wants to understand what what's going on.

[00:50:03] And I just to the life of me, maybe I'm missing something.

[00:50:08] But for this show, that's just not good entertainment.

[00:50:12] No, that's one thing about the show.

[00:50:15] I kind of like, no, just I don't want to.

[00:50:18] That's I mean, even as bad as the the Indian scenes were, and they are bad.

[00:50:26] I mean, like it's like it's I just fast forward to it.

[00:50:29] We get because I was doing like a little rewatch with a couple episodes.

[00:50:32] And I just can't I just can't.

[00:50:34] But this stuff is just like over the top in terms of the whole.

[00:50:42] Larger Yellowstone.

[00:50:45] World, so I mean, we got to talk about it because it's part of the show.

[00:50:50] But at the same time, you know,

[00:50:54] it just it's just a weird storyline that he's putting in here.

[00:50:59] And I just love to know what people think if we're off base or

[00:51:04] or whatever. So that's yeah, well, I think it was more about

[00:51:09] teaching them like a power dynamic and I get it pleasure in the power.

[00:51:14] So I totally understand that.

[00:51:17] But I'm like, all right.

[00:51:20] So do you have any other other notes or other points you want to?

[00:51:26] You know, well, I was saying it taken for, you know,

[00:51:29] just looking over the entire season.

[00:51:31] I've loved the way that they've progressed.

[00:51:35] We've had Spencer's progression from being a solid like a hunter

[00:51:39] doing his own thing in in Africa to being

[00:51:44] a husband, you know, husband to his wife and following, you know,

[00:51:48] following that path home to get home to fight for, you know, fight for his family.

[00:51:54] No, I get it.

[00:51:55] I mean, I think that they have done a great job of moving the story long,

[00:52:03] whether it's whether it's just the characters themselves,

[00:52:08] whether it's the way modernization has come

[00:52:13] from horse and buggies to prohibition to

[00:52:18] telephones and electricity and cars everywhere.

[00:52:23] And washing machines, because that's what they wanted at the Yellowstone.

[00:52:29] That's for sure.

[00:52:30] Yeah. I think that, you know, in terms of the whole season,

[00:52:34] I I'm not going to lie.

[00:52:37] I if I could rank this, I'd rank this third

[00:52:45] of the of the shows.

[00:52:47] I think the journey to the Yellowstone

[00:52:52] 1883 was right.

[00:52:54] Yeah, is amazing.

[00:52:58] Yes, the actors are amazing.

[00:53:00] Everything about it was it was perfect.

[00:53:04] Yellowstone is great.

[00:53:05] It this part.

[00:53:08] I don't know.

[00:53:09] I mean, I like the show.

[00:53:10] I love the show.

[00:53:11] Every every episode is is fun.

[00:53:14] It's interesting in terms of bringing great value.

[00:53:18] But I want to see more.

[00:53:21] I can't wait for a second season, can't wait to cover second season.

[00:53:24] But I just can't, you know, there's just something missing that I don't know

[00:53:28] what it is. I don't know what it is.

[00:53:33] Maybe on India, the Jonesmore, I don't know.

[00:53:34] But no, I mean, I see that kind of jokingly.

[00:53:37] But yeah, but well, for that one, it's like, you know,

[00:53:42] using it like jokingly saying, I think, you know,

[00:53:45] you know, they found some talentless hack like Harrison Ford to do this.

[00:53:48] No. Yeah, they did.

[00:53:50] I mean, he had nothing better to do.

[00:53:52] Yeah. And I don't know if you saw, you know, in the news,

[00:53:56] they asked him like questions about the show.

[00:53:58] He's like, oh, what are the what's going to happen?

[00:54:00] I have no idea. I mean, he's just a great deal, man.

[00:54:03] You know, but yeah.

[00:54:05] But his thing is that I don't remember.

[00:54:08] Is this Harrison Ford's first TV gig?

[00:54:11] No, we I think we talked about this is a second second.

[00:54:14] He's done. He's done some he's done some appearances on TV.

[00:54:18] But it was on a series.

[00:54:20] Yeah, it was on one series, but it didn't last very long.

[00:54:24] I believe we talked about it in the first or second.

[00:54:27] Yeah, episode.

[00:54:28] Well, since we talked about it, but yeah, no, I know.

[00:54:31] And trust me, and it was so long ago, it was like literally last year.

[00:54:36] Yeah.

[00:54:39] I mean, I swear they've taken eight episodes

[00:54:42] and they've I mean, this is like almost as bad as Game of Thrones.

[00:54:44] Yeah.

[00:54:46] But yeah.

[00:54:47] But it's it's like I always like to look at this season as an eight hour movie.

[00:54:51] It's been so damn good.

[00:54:53] Yeah, no, no. I mean, like I said, I know every week you're like,

[00:54:56] I can't wait to talk. I have to talk about this and I have to.

[00:54:59] And and, you know, it's been difficult.

[00:55:02] It's been it's been amazing.

[00:55:06] There's been, you know, when it's good, it's great.

[00:55:09] And when it's uncomfortable, it's uncomfortable.

[00:55:13] Oh, hell, yeah.

[00:55:14] They they don't own this.

[00:55:15] Exactly. And that's what this is all about, is making sure that

[00:55:22] the viewer, the viewers are there.

[00:55:24] I mean, the numbers are there.

[00:55:25] People love the show.

[00:55:26] I mean, how could you not?

[00:55:27] I mean, like you said, they got a couple of

[00:55:31] you know, hacks doing all these positions with, you know,

[00:55:35] a former bond, you know, the queen, a former queen and Han Solo.

[00:55:41] I mean, I don't think you can get any better than that.

[00:55:45] Just to you.

[00:55:46] Yeah. And these new, you know, because I've never seen the,

[00:55:49] you know, the what's her name?

[00:55:52] The one that plays Alexandra.

[00:55:53] I've never seen Julia Schlapper, I think.

[00:55:55] Yeah, I mean, they find they find great talent.

[00:55:58] Geez, you know, they're not a cultivate talent.

[00:56:00] I mean, you know, Taylor.

[00:56:02] Yeah. And I looked at it, looked at a few other things she did.

[00:56:05] It's like, well, I'm going to take a look at those two after

[00:56:07] after we're all said and done.

[00:56:08] And then I've never seen Brandon Sklannar in anything.

[00:56:11] Right. And it's like,

[00:56:13] I got to look these people up because I love the way he's played this character.

[00:56:17] Oh, no, I mean, they're they have

[00:56:20] if if people could have half the relationship that they they have,

[00:56:27] they would be in Marital Bliss.

[00:56:30] I mean, you know, they have something that most people

[00:56:35] you see in a movie or on a show.

[00:56:37] I mean, I say that jokingly, but at the same time,

[00:56:41] I mean, he's a man's man.

[00:56:42] She's a woman's woman and they are just, you know,

[00:56:45] in a wonderful time where she is she is her own person

[00:56:49] and she's been taught that way now that we know that she's a royal.

[00:56:54] I mean, you know, when he when he shoots, he really shoots for the moon

[00:56:58] literally and figuratively. Yeah.

[00:57:01] And but but the way, you know, like I've just loved his

[00:57:04] the way he plays this character is like he's been through war.

[00:57:08] Everything he's been through a lot of stuff.

[00:57:11] And he just wants, you know, I'm thinking that he just wants to go,

[00:57:16] you know, go take care of his, you know, of the family's ranch and live in peace.

[00:57:19] But he's not going to get that for a while.

[00:57:22] I don't think he's ever going to get that.

[00:57:24] I mean, even when he gets the Yellowstone, all of a sudden,

[00:57:27] you know, he's got another border at home. Yeah.

[00:57:31] But yeah, no, I mean, I think in general,

[00:57:34] I'm looking forward to next season whenever that is.

[00:57:37] I don't think they actually have a release date yet.

[00:57:40] And yeah, I would think about another year.

[00:57:43] Yeah, I mean, you know, Harrison Ford has to, you know,

[00:57:47] figure out how much money he's going to make and then it'll be cranky about it.

[00:57:50] And and I say that in the loving way.

[00:57:53] But do you have any other notes or or thoughts

[00:57:58] before we get to the good stuff?

[00:58:02] You know, I am just looking forward to next season.

[00:58:04] You know, you know, probably do a rewatch here next in the winter time.

[00:58:08] Right. In in in preparation for this

[00:58:12] because there's plenty of other stuff we got to watch, too.

[00:58:15] Oh, no, no. I mean, you know, Yellowstone, the main show

[00:58:17] is coming back in a couple of weeks or whatever.

[00:58:20] And I think there are other things besides the Yellowstone universe

[00:58:25] and that we are going to start covering them.

[00:58:28] And I can't wait to see all the good stuff.

[00:58:32] But that being said, you know, we also have like the four sixes coming out.

[00:58:36] I know. Oh, yes, I forgot the four sixes.

[00:58:39] Oh, Jesus. Yeah.

[00:58:41] And we'll see if you have time to to to do that.

[00:58:46] Maybe we'll we'll we'll come back and do the four sixes together,

[00:58:50] because I think that would be kind of neat, too.

[00:58:52] You know, you know, we'll give it a whirl.

[00:58:54] Yeah, you know, well, it's just a bunch of cowboys doing cowboy stuff.

[00:58:58] And we are the most rugged type of people to do that type of podcast

[00:59:04] because I'm from New Jersey and no horses around me.

[00:59:08] And you're from California and you've been on a horse lately either.

[00:59:13] Well, I've never been on a horse, but I've been around plenty.

[00:59:15] So there you go.

[00:59:16] And it's like I treat them like motorcycles is like I appreciate the beauty

[00:59:21] by respect to power. Absolutely. Absolutely.

[00:59:24] That's why I don't cry.

[00:59:26] So that being said, I guess that's our show.

[00:59:31] I'm going to take your line for a second.

[00:59:33] Thank you so much for listening.

[00:59:35] Hopefully you found found this entertaining as much as we did.

[00:59:41] And hopefully you love the show and and come back when we

[00:59:45] when we come back for season two or any of the other Yellowstone

[00:59:51] universe type stuff.

[00:59:54] Why don't you do the contact stuff there, Jerry?

[01:00:16] And I know Jason is going to be with Karen this week.

[01:00:21] And I believe Rima doing the cast of us

[01:00:27] podcast this week and as well as I know coming up is

[01:00:32] the Mandalorian and then I'm sorry.

[01:00:35] And yeah, a small little show called Yellow Jackets, which

[01:00:38] this this network just loves.

[01:00:40] So there's a lot of great stuff coming up.

[01:00:44] And hopefully, you know, you you enjoy all of it and

[01:00:49] come back in and listen.

[01:00:53] So next week.

[01:00:56] We're off and we're going to be off until the rest of the winter,

[01:00:59] so to speak, because that's what farmers that's what cattlemen do.

[01:01:02] They they hunker down for the winter.

[01:01:05] And thank you so much for for listening and letting us do this little podcast here.

[01:01:11] And we can't wait to get back to you for another Yellowstone universe.

[01:01:17] Show and I know you have an outro.

[01:01:21] I don't know what it is, so I'm going to let you.

[01:01:25] Do your thing.

[01:01:26] All right. Thank you, everybody for listening.

[01:01:28] And remember, set it up so you can pay your property taxes monthly

[01:01:32] or swallow your pride and get a damn mortgage.

[01:01:34] And especially when you're doing a drunk idiot,

[01:01:37] just knock him out and be done with it so you don't have to

[01:01:40] eat him over the rail when he pulls a pistol.

[01:01:42] See you next season.

[01:01:44] See you next. And there you go.

[01:01:46] See you next season.
