[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_05]: I'll read the synopsis.

[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Tori, everybody hates each other and it's a bummer.

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, let's go to your points.

[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm just kidding.

[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Tori encounters Kreese while returning from the medical center who warns her not to trust Miyagi Do.

[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Daniel and Johnny decide to have Sam, Tori, Miguel, and Robbie fight each other to secure their spots as teen captains.

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_05]: That sentence is so misleading.

[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Sam and Tori have to decide who's going to be the female captain, Miguel, Miguel, and Robbie, the male.

[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Tori returns home only to discover her mother has died due to an undetected blood clot.

[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_05]: On the day of the contest, Robbie defeats Miguel to become male captain.

[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_05]: During the girls fight, Tori displays aggression and is about to score the winning point when Daniel intervenes before she reveals to every one of her mother's death and leaves the team, forfeiting the female captain position to Sam.

[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_05]: This incident causes an argument between Daniel and Johnny over how they should have handled the situation, ending with them planning to never speak to each other again after the tournament.

[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, Johnny says that about Daniel.

[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Hock is selected to take over Tori's spot on the team with Dimitri being slightly displeased at the tournament event.

[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Really? I didn't even notice that.

[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_05]: As Robbie and Sam are given their captain headbands, Daniel suddenly recognizes a similar headband from Mr. Miyagi's chest and realizes his sensei may have fought in the Sakae, Taikae too as a team captain.

[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_05]: And then his headband was actually bloodied at the ends making Daniel question his beliefs.

[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_05]: The Miyagi team arrives in Barcelona for the tournament where they encounter Chris and Dayoon's new four member Cobra Kai representing South Korea led by Kwon and Tori.

[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Dang, Tori is a lead already, huh? Wow.

[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_05]: I guess so. Yeah, well, I mean, Chris said you're my champion.

[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Chris always popping up.

[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_05]: I know.

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Like a bad penny.

[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Maybe he'll die at the end.

[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_05]: He'll die and then it'll just say the end.

[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Everything we fought for is over.

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_05]: So, Rich, I'm curious you didn't like it, huh? What'd you think?

[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_06]: You know, I do have mixed feelings about it. I mean, good lord.

[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_06]: We just finished our last podcast talking like extensively about how we didn't think they were going to touch the top four and then that's all they frickin' did in this episode.

[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_06]: Screwed everything up.

[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_06]: Like they were playing a horrible game of chess or something.

[00:04:01] [SPEAKER_06]: And then probably the most emotional of all of that was Tori.

[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_06]: I think Tori went right for the jugular with that.

[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_06]: But man, this episode was fast paced and I'll be honest, I was like what the hell is going on?

[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_06]: So I liked it better the second time but my head is still spinning a little bit.

[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. It was very soap opera-ish.

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_05]: You're just like, oh, so much drama and conflict.

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_05]: What about you, Reema?

[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_01]: I enjoyed it.

[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I liked the pace.

[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I liked that they touched on most of all of the storylines and I do think there was some really good tension.

[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I think there were a few predictable moments but I think that they were kind of fun predictable,

[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_01]: even though I kind of called a few things it was still, you know, didn't like ruin it.

[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Like oh, I already knew that was going to happen.

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_01]: It was kind of like, yeah, I thought that was going to happen but it was cool the way that they did it.

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_01]: So I enjoyed it. I think there was a lot of great tense moments and I'm super excited to see the next five.

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_01]: They have, I don't know if either one of you had a chance to see it.

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't see it until my second watch earlier.

[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_01]: They did a behind the dojo kind of 11 minute episode kind of recapping and talking about the first five episodes

[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_01]: of the season with some of the cast members and the show runners.

[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_01]: And that was pretty cool.

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_01]: And then they, they're in the last couple minutes were teasing the next five,

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_01]: you know, really kind of getting you pumped up.

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know if that's what helped drive me over the edge a little bit maybe seeing that.

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to get you pumped for the next five, but I had a good time with it.

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited.

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Are you going to during your points talk about the parts you thought were predictable but fun?

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Or should I ask you about that now?

[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_01]: I do have it in my point.

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_05]: But yeah, because I mean, I think clearly the idea they're going into this tournament,

[00:06:02] [SPEAKER_05]: this big international to decide who the best karate students are in the whole entire world.

[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_05]: So it's huge.

[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_05]: It's a huge deal.

[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_05]: And I think the idea of this episode is to just have them start off in a sketchy shaken up situation

[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_05]: so that we'll be worried for them and it will be more dramatic but anxious.

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_05]: And I thought kind of a bummer, but it's the first part of a three-part story.

[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_05]: And they have, I mean, I just like I thought about Game of Thrones like we always used to say if you think this story has a happy ending,

[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_05]: you haven't been paying attention with Cobra Kai.

[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_05]: I would say if you haven't been paying attention,

[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_05]: if you think this isn't going to have a kickass triumphant ending, you know,

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_05]: it's going to be, we're going to be left feeling good, I think.

[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_05]: That's my prediction anyway.

[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_05]: So right now it's like, I just feel like we got kicked in the stomach here.

[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_05]: And yeah, I think, Rima, what you said about,

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_05]: I didn't see that 11 minute thing to help me get jazz for the next part.

[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_05]: So I'm just kind of like, oh God, they're in a really bad place.

[00:07:18] [SPEAKER_06]: I mean, it was, I don't know if you guys felt surprised,

[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_06]: but when they went to Barcelona just like that,

[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_06]: I was like, what?

[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_06]: We're already here?

[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_01]: That did throw me off.

[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't expecting to already, you know, kind of be in Barcelona

[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_01]: and like seeing an introduction and getting to see other fighters.

[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, oh dang, we're just like,

[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_01]: we're ready to dislike when we drop into the next five,

[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_01]: like boom, you're just going to be dropped right in the middle.

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Because if this is watching dead, we would not be here yet.

[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_05]: It would be a damn season.

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_05]: It depends on the season.

[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_05]: It depends on the season, yeah.

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_05]: But most of them.

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_05]: But I think it makes me wonder,

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_05]: are they going to extend the whole Sakai-Tai-Kai thing

[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_05]: throughout the next 10 episodes?

[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_05]: Or is it just going to be the next five?

[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Or I kind of hope that they have at least one episode after

[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_05]: back home in the valley for all the loose ends to be tied up,

[00:08:15] [SPEAKER_06]: Well, I mean, they could just do,

[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_06]: it's like you said Rima, it's in three parts.

[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_06]: So maybe the second part is the tournament.

[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_06]: And then the third part is just all five episodes

[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_06]: or when they're back in the valley

[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_06]: or dealing with the fallout or victory

[00:08:28] [SPEAKER_06]: or whatever is going to happen.

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm curious if that's how they'll do it.

[00:08:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Just, I mean, when you think it's like the end of the whole series.

[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_01]: So think of everything that needs to be wrapped up.

[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I'm curious if that,

[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_01]: if the part three, if you will,

[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_01]: that drops what next year, I guess sometime

[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_01]: firming up and kind of ending, giving everyone a good,

[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_01]: I hope anyway, a satisfactory good, good ending.

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_05]: I read that the last five are just chosen

[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_05]: in Kumako arguing the whole time.

[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_05]: We still got their story too.

[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm sure that's going to be told.

[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they have to give us something.

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Even if it's just in passing, I mean, they never even firmly,

[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yes, we saw him look on his phone,

[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_01]: flights to, you know, Okinawa or whatever,

[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_01]: but they've literally just not even said anything about it.

[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_01]: They've not addressed it or mentioned it at all.

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Like he's just gone.

[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_01]: I know.

[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_05]: They don't even like the knowledge that he disappeared

[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_05]: or anything.

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_05]: That's how much they cared about it.

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Amanda seems in a better mood.

[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Rima, you want to go first?

[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Why not?

[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_01]: The first thing I want to talk about kind of short and sweet.

[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_01]: And they always do a good job.

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, it's not like, oh, this episode was

[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_01]: like over the top over any other episode,

[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_01]: anytime they've got fighting and no matter who's fighting,

[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_01]: whether it's, you know, like in this episode,

[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_01]: the kids who are all on the same team

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_01]: or if you've got, you know, opponents,

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_01]: like we got the, you know, Johnny and,

[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_01]: oh shoot, what the heck was his name?

[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Daniel.

[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_01]: A few episodes ago.

[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Just kidding.

[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_01]: No, sorry.

[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Barnes.

[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, Barnes.

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Gosh, I've already forgotten the dude's name.

[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_01]: That's very sad.

[00:10:27] [SPEAKER_01]: AJ Quarter-Main.

[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Any, yes, AJ Quarter-Main.

[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_01]: That's how I know him.

[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_01]: But they always have really great fights,

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_01]: but there was just something about this episode's

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_01]: fighting that, I mean, maybe it's just all the seasons

[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_01]: of all these actors and their training paying off,

[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_01]: kind of like it has Miyagi-Do right there.

[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_01]: They've all been training this long in Miyagi-Do

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_01]: to get ready for this Sakaikai.

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_01]: But something about this episode where the fighting

[00:10:52] [SPEAKER_01]: was just so top notch.

[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Miguel and Robbie's fight, I thought was so awesome.

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_05]: One of the best we've seen, I think.

[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was great.

[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_01]: And I, it was, it was fantastic.

[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_01]: And I thought there was really great tension building.

[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Now, this is when I mentioned some things that I called,

[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I did call Robbie.

[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I think Robbie's gonna get this one.

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_01]: But it was still tense, even though I kind of had that

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_01]: in the back of my head that he was gonna win.

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_01]: It didn't make it less tense.

[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_01]: It still felt like there was something to lose there.

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_01]: And you know, I thought, you know,

[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know they could subvert some expectations

[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_01]: or at least my expectations and it could be Miguel.

[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_01]: But I thought it was super tense.

[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_01]: And I just knew, like, and whenever he spotted Tori,

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I go, yep, it's his.

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Like just something about, like, he got super focused.

[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_05]: And Miguel looked thrown off and kind of all up in his head

[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_05]: and everything.

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, I think Miguel was pretty balanced,

[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_01]: I think, but it was something about whenever he saw Tori,

[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_01]: that really kind of brought Robbie,

[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I think to the space he needed to be

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_01]: to really get his head into the fight

[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_01]: and get those points.

[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_01]: So that was, I thought, really, really great.

[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_01]: And I thought Tori and Sam's fight also was really great.

[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_01]: The tension between those two,

[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I just thought it led up to some really great tense moments.

[00:12:19] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't usually get to like, oh, you know,

[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_01]: what's gonna happen?

[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_01]: And like on the edge of my seat,

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_01]: but with those two fights between the girls and guys,

[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I just thought they were fantastic.

[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I was worried for Sam because, you know,

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Tori where she was mentally and not in a good place,

[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I thought, oh my gosh,

[00:12:43] [SPEAKER_01]: she could kind of revert back to Tori

[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_01]: that we saw in earlier seasons.

[00:12:48] [SPEAKER_01]: She plays dirty.

[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm coming for you, bitch.

[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_05]: You should start it off with that.

[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I thought, oh my gosh,

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_01]: she might really hurt Sam, you know?

[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_01]: And after how far they had come, you know,

[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_01]: and I was really worried that she was,

[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, oh, here we go again,

[00:13:02] [SPEAKER_01]: kind of going back to that place again.

[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_01]: So I thought there were some really great tense moments.

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I really liked the choreography of Robbie

[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_01]: when he was training outside of the apartment area

[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_01]: out in the center there.

[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_01]: And he kept hearing that second place,

[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_01]: second place, second place over and over again.

[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_01]: And it was kind of heartbreaking

[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_01]: because it was like, I was like, oh yeah.

[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I kind of forgot all those fights that he had

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_01]: and he kept coming in second place

[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_01]: and Robbie's a really great fighter,

[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_01]: and he's got it in him.

[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_01]: And I thought his acting was really,

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_01]: really well done.

[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I liked the choreography of his sparring and training.

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_01]: But then hearing that, it broke my heart

[00:13:46] [SPEAKER_01]: because it was not only showing second place

[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_01]: in tournaments, but it reminded me

[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_01]: of also kind of being second place

[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_01]: when it came to Johnny too, when he was growing up.

[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_01]: And it just kind of added that extra layer of...

[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Behind Miguel at times.

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.

[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_01]: So I just loved that.

[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I always kind of crapped on Robbie early on

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_01]: in some of the early in the season.

[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, the haircut, I had a lot to do with that.

[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_04]: So that's over now.

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_01]: But that was my number one.

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Just I thought the choreography was outstanding

[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_01]: and the fighting was just top tier

[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_01]: and gave us some really great tense moments.

[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_06]: It was.

[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it was a great time to show us that too.

[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_06]: Right before they go to the tournament.

[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_06]: It's like, hey, they really did get better

[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_06]: after all this time of practicing.

[00:14:31] [SPEAKER_06]: And the second fight too with Tori,

[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_06]: that one I was more tense than the first one with the boys.

[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, yeah, she was like raging out of control.

[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_05]: I was like, don't hurt Sam.

[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I thought, okay, I mean, I loved it.

[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_05]: It really did stand out, especially

[00:14:49] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean with Tori and Sam, I was more just like, oh my God,

[00:14:53] [SPEAKER_05]: this is not going to end well.

[00:14:55] [SPEAKER_05]: So I was nervous and not paying so much attention to the fighting

[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_05]: except being worried that Sam would get injured.

[00:15:00] [SPEAKER_05]: But especially with Robbie and Miguel,

[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_05]: I was just like, wow, this is great.

[00:15:04] [SPEAKER_05]: This is one of the best fights of the series.

[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_05]: And then there was a part of me thinking,

[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_05]: a great balance is that Johnny's more offense focused

[00:25:14] [SPEAKER_05]: and Daniel's more defense and sort of focus focused

[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_05]: into the meditative and core strengthening and all.

[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_05]: And you need all of that stuff to make a good karate system.

[00:25:24] [SPEAKER_05]: So if they got their shit together,

[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_05]: they could make a good cohesive system

[00:25:28] [SPEAKER_05]: and each one of them could teach to their strengths

[00:28:35] [SPEAKER_05]: So I think Daniel does know that Johnny wouldn't be doing that.

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Daniel doing and teaching just Sam and Miguel

[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_05]: goes to the auto dealership, tells him he's starting

[00:28:52] [SPEAKER_05]: his own dealership, tries to steal all his employees.

[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_05]: It not pretty much tips it over into Johnny's a bad guy here

[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_05]: for me after Daniel gave him a job.

[00:29:03] [SPEAKER_05]: He was he was off the rails.

[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was funny.

[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_05]: It was funny as hell.

[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_05]: And then Amanda stands up for Johnny and tells Daniel,

[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_05]: hey, you guys are supposed to be partners.

[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_05]: And so then they apologize to each other, which was nice.

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_05]: But then Johnny got pissed that Daniel stopped the fight

[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_05]: and and yeah, right there they disagreed.

[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_05]: And they should have as soon as they saw that they were

[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_05]: disagreeing about whether they should continue that fight.

[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Then they should have said, we're going to take a break

[00:29:31] [SPEAKER_05]: and talk it over just wait.

[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Of course not.

[00:29:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Right?

[00:29:34] [SPEAKER_06]: That's what I thought.

[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_05]: So then when Johnny said, I'll go to this tournament.

[00:29:55] [SPEAKER_05]: But after that we're through and and that's how they're

[00:29:58] [SPEAKER_05]: entering it with I mean you talked about baggage,

[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_05]: but I don't even remember if you mentioned them,

[00:30:02] [SPEAKER_05]: but they have that baggage.

[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, they do.

[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_05]: At the tournament.

[00:30:34] [SPEAKER_01]: But I was like, well this time it feels a little different.

[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_01]: This season how far they've come and how both of them

[00:30:41] [SPEAKER_01]: have kind of evolved.

[00:30:43] [SPEAKER_01]: But I think that it did show, you know,

[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_01]: the differences we know Daniel's in a bit of a different headspace

[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_01]: with everything he's got going on learning about Miyagi.

[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_01]: But then you can see the maturity from Johnny

[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_01]: because Johnny what would he normally do?

[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_01]: He'd probably just punch him right back

[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_01]: and then we'd be right in the middle of a fight,

[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_01]: like we would get sometimes but instead,

[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_01]: he turns the other cheek and instead of also just

[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_01]: like quitting like I'm out of here like Tori did,

[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_01]: he's like they're still working together.

[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_01]: He's like, you know what?

[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll finish this and then I'm done.

[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_01]: So I think it really shows how far the characters have come.

[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_01]: But like with learning about his past.

[00:34:53] [SPEAKER_01]: And again, we still don't really know

[00:34:55] [SPEAKER_01]: what the circumstances or context about what happened.

[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_01]: We just have an article saying that Miyagi was a thief

[00:35:02] [SPEAKER_01]: and he did flee the country

[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_01]: but we don't know what it was all about.

[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_01]: But it's like, it kind of shows Miyagi

[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_01]: as not this picture perfect person

[00:35:16] [SPEAKER_01]: and like he could never do anything wrong.

[00:35:27] [SPEAKER_01]: he made mistakes and that leans for me more towards Johnny.

[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Like Johnny isn't perfect and he's made mistakes

[00:35:34] [SPEAKER_01]: and he's growing as a person.

[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I mean they are all growing and evolving

[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_01]: but I just feel like they're showing Johnny

[00:35:45] [SPEAKER_01]: a little closer to Miyagi than what Daniel is to Miyagi

[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_01]: in my opinion and how he's grown and changed

[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_01]: and how he could continue to grow and change

[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_01]: in the next 10 episodes to finish out the series

[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_01]: that he might be like more fitting of like the face

[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_01]: and head of Miyagi than what Daniel is.

[00:36:03] [SPEAKER_01]: And they've said like, well Daniel's planning

[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_01]: to step away after the tournament.

[01:26:04] [SPEAKER_03]: episode stretch kind of like a result

[01:26:07] [SPEAKER_03]: of how they left season 5

[01:26:09] [SPEAKER_03]: off in a place where if they didn't

[01:26:12] [SPEAKER_03]: get renewed for a sixth season

[01:26:13] [SPEAKER_03]: they would feel satisfying

[01:26:15] [SPEAKER_03]: you know like one of the only

[01:26:17] [SPEAKER_03]: threads that was hanging out there was crease

[01:26:19] [SPEAKER_03]: escaping from jail but overall

[01:26:21] [SPEAKER_03]: it felt pretty good so I almost wonder if

[01:26:23] [SPEAKER_03]: that is why this five

[01:26:25] [SPEAKER_03]: episode stretch really felt like they were

[01:26:27] [SPEAKER_03]: creating a lot of tension

[01:26:30] [SPEAKER_03]: within the dojo

[01:26:31] [SPEAKER_03]: you know we needed something more

[01:26:33] [SPEAKER_03]: than just the conflict

[01:26:35] [SPEAKER_03]: of going to the Sekai

[01:26:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Taikai in and of itself

[01:26:39] [SPEAKER_03]: by the way I looked that up apparently

[01:26:41] [SPEAKER_05]: wait I'm just gonna pause it because

[01:26:44] [SPEAKER_05]: you're reminding me

[01:26:45] [SPEAKER_05]: they always wanted to do more

[01:26:47] [SPEAKER_05]: they always said they had more story

[01:27:17] [SPEAKER_03]: that this season is getting on the whole

[01:27:19] [SPEAKER_03]: being a 15 episode season as opposed to

[01:27:21] [SPEAKER_03]: a 10 episode season they were

[01:27:23] [SPEAKER_03]: allowed to let

[01:27:25] [SPEAKER_03]: the season as a whole

[01:27:27] [SPEAKER_03]: breathe a little more and create

[01:27:28] [SPEAKER_03]: all these extra thread lines and plot

[01:27:31] [SPEAKER_03]: lines and subplots

[01:27:32] [SPEAKER_03]: and I think the show is really benefited from it.

[01:27:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Also we had a little bit of an extended

[01:27:38] [SPEAKER_03]: run time on this finale episode

[01:27:40] [SPEAKER_03]: compared to some of the

[01:27:42] [SPEAKER_03]: rest of the episodes of the series

[01:27:43] [SPEAKER_03]: which is kind of exciting if you think about it

[01:27:46] [SPEAKER_03]: we'll probably get some more of those as we approach the end of the series

[01:27:48] [SPEAKER_03]: but all of this made me want to

[01:27:51] [SPEAKER_03]: go back and try to

[01:27:52] [SPEAKER_03]: think about what are all the major

[01:27:55] [SPEAKER_03]: plots and subplots

[01:27:57] [SPEAKER_03]: and try to count them out so here's what I got

[01:28:41] [SPEAKER_03]: chosen whatever is going on with him that's nine

[01:28:45] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean one of the most obvious

[01:28:47] [SPEAKER_03]: plotlines we have going there in conflict again

[01:28:49] [SPEAKER_03]: and number eleven obviously

[01:28:51] [SPEAKER_03]: the biggest one I feel like is the

[01:28:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Sekai Taikai so that's eleven

[01:28:55] [SPEAKER_03]: at least plotlines and

[01:28:57] [SPEAKER_03]: subplotlines that are all running together right now

[01:29:00] [SPEAKER_03]: okay and side note as I was editing this

[01:29:02] [SPEAKER_03]: I realized I had forgotten Johnny

[01:29:04] [SPEAKER_03]: and Carmen's baby which is a

[01:29:06] [SPEAKER_03]: at least a 12th storyline

[01:29:07] [SPEAKER_03]: and I'm sure there's way more than

[01:29:10] [SPEAKER_03]: that that I'm forgetting

[01:29:10] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean I'm pausing again I would say

[01:29:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Crease and Johnny is

[01:29:15] [SPEAKER_05]: a big plotline

[01:29:34] [SPEAKER_03]: my question is do you think it'll take

[01:29:36] [SPEAKER_03]: more than five episodes for that

[01:29:38] [SPEAKER_03]: to play out because I

[01:29:44] [SPEAKER_03]: and end of the actual Sekai Taikai

[01:29:48] [SPEAKER_03]: chunk could focus on some kind of conflict

[01:29:53] [SPEAKER_03]: tournament or any tournament

[01:29:59] [SPEAKER_03]: but it's kind of exciting to

[01:30:01] [SPEAKER_03]: try to imagine how all these

[01:30:03] [SPEAKER_03]: storylines are going to play out and I

[01:30:05] [SPEAKER_03]: really really hope it comes to a satisfying

[01:30:07] [SPEAKER_03]: conclusion and I have faith that it will
