[00:00:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh God, my the first to arrive.
[00:00:09] [SPEAKER_01]: The rest will be here soon.
[00:00:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Please come in, right Agatha?
[00:00:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm a guardian of whatever's in it.
[00:00:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Can I entrust you in a pre-road appetizer?
[00:00:20] [SPEAKER_01]: They are.
[00:00:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Old granola bars, I didn't have much to work with.
[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, before I came.
[00:00:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I don't mind a lapsed exploration date.
[00:00:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Hi, priestess.
[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Jennifer Cal, potions.
[00:00:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Really a cold-erough, divination.
[00:00:35] [SPEAKER_01]: You're bound.
[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_01]: And you need a chemical pill.
[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_00]: This is never gonna work.
[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Your front door is missing.
[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yes.
[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_00]: How did you?
[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm an ex-cop.
[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be an answer to a lot of questions.
[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Ah.
[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Gangs all here.
[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's hit the road.
[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey everybody.
[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Welcome to the Marvel TV cast from Podcastica.
[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm Penny.
[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm Jim today.
[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_02]: We're gonna be talking about Agatha all along.
[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Season one episode two.
[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like I should sing this.
[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to circle-sone with fate.
[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Unlock thy hidden gates.
[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, so I don't know about you but I've had the song stuck in my head for days.
[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh.
[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't get out of there.
[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm humming it singing it all the time.
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, and what's cool about it is I hadn't heard it when we recorded season the first episode.
[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And that version of it was so, I mean, it was great.
[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_02]: But this version of it is, I mean, I don't see.
[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's kind of iconic.
[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, when you look at the performers who were, I mean, patty lapone immediately.
[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_02]: But who knew, I mean, I don't know.
[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know much about like Catherine Hans like vocal presence.
[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I think no she was like a, like her voice is beautiful.
[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yes.
[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I just, I didn't know.
[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I wasn't surprised about Sashir Zamata.
[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was not as familiar with Ali on.
[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Although I looked up her IMDB page and I was like, oh my god, I've seen her in all these things.
[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I just didn't like put it together.
[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she was in billions which was great in it and the part that she was in.
[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_02]: But yet, I, their voices like fit together so well.
[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, to do something like that, and then on top of it.
[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, and the TV show like this when you have an amazing song and the,
[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_02]: it, Montage isn't right.
[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_02]: But all of the action that was happening along with the song with the way that they were singing it.
[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, and the, the Salem seven, like the, the introduction of the Salem seven.
[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_02]: So we were talking in episode one how stuff does it scare me?
[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like this, so to have a show.
[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, so this is what, like this is where the brilliance of the show is for me.
[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_02]: A, a, a, this episode and any other TV series is okay.
[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to introduce everybody. Here you go.
[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Here's this person in here. This person in here.
[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_02]: This person in here. This person in here.
[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_02]: This person and we got a crow over here in a coyote over here.
[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_02]: We hear an owl in the background.
[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Introduce introduced introduced.
[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_02]: They do that with this amazing humor with two amazing actors kind of weaving in an out.
[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_02]: And I got to tell you, the kid that's playing Toto or teen or whatever they're calling them.
[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_02]: What's Joe,
[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my gosh, this kid is good.
[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_03]: He's good.
[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I, you know, his, his facial expressions in this episode,
[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_02]: tell a whole tale of, which is absolutely amazing.
[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_02]: But going back to the, to be able to get to this last like third of the show,
[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_02]: where we get all the care, the team assembling, you know, and then they sing this song.
[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_02]: And if you're not doing it right, you're singing this song, you're getting on the road,
[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_02]: and off you go to the rest of the story.
[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_02]: But when you build up a store, when you're building up a chase,
[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_02]: which apparently they're going to be doing, how amazing was that sequence?
[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I've eaten and you're gripping.
[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And Aubrey Plaza wasn't there.
[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, so there's like this whole other layer that like so how,
[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_02]: where's what hat or is she? We'll get to that.
[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, I have some thoughts in some theories, but we'll get to that.
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll get to that.
[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_02]: So that song was made. The song was brilliant and amazing,
[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_02]: and how they've come up with two versions of the same song that I will be listening to for years and years.
[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And I have to assume that we're going to get the rock goddess version,
[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_04]: the Lorna Wu version before the end of this season because
[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_04]: they don't tell you that there's the most popular version that's sold 40 million copies worldwide,
[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_04]: and it's one of the characters, mother who recorded it.
[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And she's mysteriously missing. Like we're going to hear that song.
[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_04]: So we're going to get at least a rock goddess.
[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Did you catch when they were singing it?
[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't see it the first time I watched it, but the second time I watched it,
[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Alice.
[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, did she cry? She was crying.
[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, oh, okay.
[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_02]: So let's talk that. Let's put that one in the note because we need to remember that.
[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so that was beautiful too.
[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Because I didn't catch it the first time either.
[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I was like, oh, and I was like, oh, why is her make up running?
[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, does she's crying? Like, yeah, that's why.
[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I had to sort of come at it backwards.
[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_04]: But I was like, where's her mother's missing?
[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_02]: That's wonderful storytelling is what that is.
[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I just, um, I am so enthralled with a show that can again take take really the one episode of the nine where you just hear your players.
[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Here they are in the, they're on the playing field and make it that suspenseful because that you've got so many questions that hopefully we get some answers.
[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, what's this journey going to be like, how connected to Wizard of Oz?
[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Is it going to be how are we going to get these players who aren't on the road onto the road?
[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I, oh, yeah.
[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_02]: We're, we're really getting ahead of ourselves.
[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. I have a theory that, um, that every member of the Coven is going to have to confront their own sort of core trauma or big bad.
[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And so we're going to get the backstory of each character when they confront their thing.
[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think each character is going to have a focus episode.
[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_02]: That's, and I do have Agatha Zetta and we have, we have four other witches, five counting whoever the teen,
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Toto, wouldn't we calling him?
[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_04]: We have been calling him, kid even though he says he's not a kid because he's 16.
[00:07:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Just because I find it easier than teen, but I think there is fine.
[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_02]: She called them teen for a while and then she called them Toto and, yeah, I guess we'll probably.
[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I think she didn't want him to try to tell any of the other witches who he is because she didn't want them to realize that there's some kind of powerful magic attached to him.
[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_04]: She hasn't figured out what it is.
[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And she hasn't figured out if it's going to something she can use, but she certainly doesn't want them to use it or connect to it.
[00:08:18] [SPEAKER_02]: So I guess my question to you, my is all just.
[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_02]: That's just a part of it.
[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_02]: So so I mean if we're going to have a point number one, he sort of is the place to start.
[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean I don't want to start with who do you think he is, but I do want us.
[00:08:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I want to ask you a question like, do you think he knows who he is?
[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I was wondering that because there's he has that off-hand comment when they're talking about Alice and Mona Wu and she's like he says,
[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_04]: oh my mother saw her in concert before she died and at first I thought he meant before his mother died.
[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I was like, oh I think he means before Lorna Wu supposedly died but really disappeared.
[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_02]: But I love it because I had the same question.
[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I love that.
[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_02]: So there again is good story telling because it could be either or it could be both.
[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_04]: He and it could mean anything when he says my mom or my mother, right?
[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_04]: He could be that he doesn't know who he is.
[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_04]: He lives with some other some family and he is the child of Wanda or Agatha or some other mystical be, you know, some character that we're going to know.
[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Did you catch did you catch?
[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_02]: So I watch of course with with.
[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm just happening.
[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And he's when when she asks him in the car, his story.
[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_02]: He of course it mutes out right away, but it catches just enough for him to say that he's from.
[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_02]: East view.
[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_02]: So so that's what made me go wait a second like if he is he's obviously someone important to the story other than just this random.
[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_02]: He's something random.
[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_02]: So so but I don't think I really think that whatever whoever he is that he doesn't know the true part that he's going to play whether he is, you know, we speculate that he might be.
[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Wanda Sunbilly we speculated it might be Agatha's son Nicholas who in in the series.
[00:10:27] [SPEAKER_02]: He's not you know, Ben mentioned is being real and then you have a whole other like story line because there's definitely some.
[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_02]: What's real and what's not going on here but we'll get to that but I just and and in the fact that he plays and I guess baby I don't know a whole lot about the history of Agatha and the history of the Scarlet Witch and the comics.
[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And I guess they throughout some clues for us is so you know his boyfriend calls him when they're in the car.
[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a clue and and I guess my question again like do we know if any of the characters that we're speculating about is gay in the comics.
[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, I don't know but that doesn't necessarily mean anything because they might have just made a switch and you know the boyfriend could have been a girlfriend in the comics and they just you know updated modern times.
[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_04]: The fact that the phone calls his boyfriend boy, I was like is that a clue does you know why f mean something or is that just generation alpha to like slang.
[00:11:31] I don't know.
[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_02]: So and it and I don't know that actor.
[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if we're going to get to see him again.
[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I kind of think maybe we will but I do I do just love that we just keep dipping into the pool here and hopefully all of this comes back to fruition nine episodes.
[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_02]: We should have plenty of time to get it all but yeah and when he tried to tell her his name.
[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_04]: There was a symbol that came over his mouth and at first I thought it was like stitches closing his mouth so he couldn't talk but then I thought it was in like a fancy M.
[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and then I thought is it a fancy M or is it a fancy W right so then I was like Wanda or maximum off or I know that a major like mystical villain in the comics is.
[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm a fisto and.
[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_04]: And I loved that Wanda was just like interesting because she doesn't she she's drawn to power as she's like that is power I don't know what is yet but I'm going to find out.
[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And it certainly it certainly seems like she might.
[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_02]: The looks on Catherine on space while she's playing this character will these us to least she's intrigued but it does seem like she knows more that she's telling us.
[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, they're yeah but also that she's not sure of what she knows because she had that thing happened with the car where she was like wait this isn't a car and I was like oh her perception of the world is still messed up from the spell like she's not.
[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_04]: 100% out of the spad that was so funny.
[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what happened the first time I watched the episode I missed that entire sequence about the the not car.
[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_04]: So the second time I watched I was like I didn't miss this is so many things so but like pop tartines instead of gas pedal and.
[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And then she gets up to the person is like here you guys the key.
[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my so so that's the first time I watch it that's what I caught and then I had to then go back and watch the first episode.
[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_02]: To see her in the car and every time she was in the car I was like.
[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_02]: She's just just we're living living living living.
[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_04]: She's just like looking into makeup mirror and using pop tarts for that all my god.
[00:13:57] [SPEAKER_02]: She actually wrote this down she.
[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_02]: She says.
[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh what does she say I think I wrote it down somewhere I can't find it in my notes right now but we'll come back to this because one of my I one of my for the you were in this episode is amazing but I want to hammer out this this teen stuff before we move on from it but.
[00:14:18] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah the M W stitch symbol whatever that was is a huge clue and maybe if I were more versed in more of the comics I would absolutely know what that symbol is but I don't.
[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I yeah I tried to do some agatha comic book beating right after one division aired because I just thought the character was so great and knew there was a series coming and also because I claimed dibs on covering it for podcast like immediately was like my.
[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_04]: But agatha never had her own series and she's like all over the place in the marble universe so you have to do like one episode one issue of this comic and another issue of that comic and there's no place where it's all pulled together and.
[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_04]: And I read a few things here and there but I couldn't really like get a like a real picture and I'm sure I missed a ton and I found it very annoying and I also sort of assumed that if the show didn't need come out which it did that they would release some kind of like compendium of.
[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Agatha stories and make it easier for me so I didn't have to go find a mollum ball together so I'm kind of waiting for that to happen.
[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I have a feeling it's going to I can't imagine they throw this episode out here I think to.
[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I did go back yesterday and kind of dabble through some of the.
[00:15:46] [SPEAKER_02]: 2016 Scarlet Witch series that seems to be the basis of this because.
[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_02]: One is the one who's on the road and I think that's where they're getting some so I stopped quickly I didn't want any spoilers in case there were spoilers in there in case they just swaps what.
[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Switched characters and it.
[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Because.
[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Agatha is in that but more as a ghost guide and it's not and it's the version that I know from your early fantastic for so.
[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_02]: It's it's it is very but the nice thing about it too is I do think it does give.
[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_02]: The show runners the writers a lot of freedom with this character especially since regardless of whether you know we have a returning scar that which at some point it doesn't seem like she's going to be in enough for.
[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that's not to be able to use some of her source material in this character because we still don't know what version of Agatha we're going to get by the end of this I mean she's obviously looking to gain her power back and gain a lot more than that she definitely has some of her evil tendencies.
[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_02]: But this isn't a character that's been overtly evil throughout the series that she's been in over the mar so I just super cure there's so much open.
[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Land to cover here that they can sort of write themselves so maybe they don't want to pull everything together maybe they want this to be.
[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Something that they can just kind of build their own map for yeah it's um you know I don't I don't know that Agatha is evil so much as yeah extremely power hungry and willing to do evil to get power which in my head.
[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_04]: That is slightly different not I mean evil is evil to a certain extent but.
[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_04]: The motivations are different she's not like I want to destroy the world or I want to rule the world she's like I want power and.
[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe there's a psychological reason for that that we're going to learn you know maybe it's because.
[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm that she's a villain exactly we don't know any I mean yeah well it and we don't know because.
[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_02]: The story that we get from 1693 she's getting burned at the stake then she takes their power we don't know what happened to.
[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_02]: before that, it might have been a good thing.
[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_02]: We don't, I mean, we do know what happened in
[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Wanda Vision.
[00:18:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Wanda was not a great character in that.
[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, portray very well,
[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_02]: and obviously someone going through grief and trauma.
[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Simpsatic, but also in the wrong, right?
[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, she enslaved the town.
[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_04]: That doesn't mean that Agatha should kill her,
[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_02]: but like, it's not un-defencible.
[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Still recovering that town and a town
[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_02]: that by all indications, kind of like Sagatha,
[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_02]: even though she's kind of a lunatic.
[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_04]: They seem like good people.
[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, we'll get there, but Deborah Joe Rubs character.
[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my God, I love her so much already.
[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, she's so funny.
[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_04]: All right. Let's finish talking about the teen.
[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_04]: One of my most favorite things was how well he
[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_04]: meshed with Agatha on there, you know,
[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_04]: let's get the band together, mission.
[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_04]: And how he was so swath about pulling out her address
[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_04]: and being like, be there in five?
[00:19:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Like boom, he was on it.
[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And when he, like, called out Jennifer Kale
[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_04]: about her lawsuit problem,
[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_02]: he was literally half that.
[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_02]: So the humor in this is fabulous,
[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_02]: but he, just kind of getting into it.
[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_02]: He, this is when he enters the phrase
[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_02]: and ally to Agatha.
[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_02]: We don't really know where this is going to go,
[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_02]: but they turn into an official duel.
[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_02]: And it ends with just like the payouts
[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_02]: and maybe like five years in prison,
[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_02]: but 800 counts of it starts to get a little lifey
[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_02]: and the look on his face when he says it.
[00:20:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I was sold on this actor from this point on.
[00:20:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, yeah, okay.
[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to call it.
[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_02]: He's going to, with all of these amazing actresses,
[00:20:28] [SPEAKER_02]: he's such a nice, like,
[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I hate to say it this way because the show's kind of a breath
[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_02]: of fresh air, but he really is as a new actor.
[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a contrast.
[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_04]: He says he, they're all so different from each other.
[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_04]: This is one of the things I'm really digging about the oven
[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_04]: is how unbelievably different these characters are
[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_04]: from each other.
[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And they make a reference to it at one point,
[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I guess I'm jumping ahead, but that's okay.
[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_04]: When Lillia gets her vision or whatever
[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_04]: and writes down the names,
[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_04]: the first thing she says is three of pentacles,
[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_04]: which is a tarot card reference.
[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I dabbled in tarot card readings at one point in my life,
[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_04]: so I do know kind of a lot about tarot cards.
[00:21:18] [SPEAKER_04]: The three of pentacles represents teamwork,
[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And specifically, the power and value that there is
[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_04]: in a team made up of diverse skill sets
[00:21:33] [SPEAKER_04]: and experience levels,
[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_04]: which is exactly what we end up with in this comment.
[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_04]: We have some very old and powerful witches
[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_04]: who have lost their magic or the magic's been bound.
[00:21:46] [SPEAKER_04]: And then we have Alice Wu who doesn't seem to have ever
[00:21:49] [SPEAKER_04]: really embraced her magic
[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_04]: and then lock whose this new oven commer
[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_04]: and Sharon Davis,
[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_04]: who I don't think is any way a witch at all.
[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_04]: At least not yet, maybe she will be by the end of the season.
[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's a very diverse skill set.
[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_04]: This is like a passion of mine too,
[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_04]: is that diversity is strength.
[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Right? Like there have been all these studies
[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_04]: that show that decision making and problem-solving
[00:22:18] [SPEAKER_04]: is better and more efficient
[00:22:20] [SPEAKER_04]: when you have teams that have diverse backgrounds,
[00:22:25] [SPEAKER_04]: but also diverse cognitive styles.
[00:22:28] [SPEAKER_04]: So you don't just want people who look different from each other.
[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_04]: You also want people that think differently from each other.
[00:22:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And the more diversity you have,
[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_04]: the better solution you will end up in the long run.
[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_04]: It might be harder work to get to the end of a problem.
[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_04]: It might take a little bit more
[00:22:46] [SPEAKER_04]: because there's also team management that needs to happen,
[00:22:49] [SPEAKER_04]: but you'll get a better long lasting solution
[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_04]: that solves the problem or answers the question more thoroughly.
[00:22:59] [SPEAKER_04]: And I spent a lot of time in corporate America
[00:23:01] [SPEAKER_04]: and I've worked on a lot of teams
[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_04]: and I've done a lot of team building exercises
[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_04]: and gone to team management seminars
[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_04]: and management seminars and professional communications coaching
[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_04]: and all the stuff.
[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_04]: And the biggest lesson I've taken away from that
[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_04]: besides that if you fidget when people are,
[00:23:21] [SPEAKER_04]: when you're talking people don't take you as seriously,
[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_04]: is that multiple voices and multiple perspectives
[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_04]: are more valuable than we can even imagine.
[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Which is why I'm so anti-fascist because I'm like,
[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_04]: then you'll always end up with one person's view.
[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_04]: That's not the human race we'll explode and dive
[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_04]: if we do that.
[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, diversity is strong.
[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Three of pentacles.
[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_02]: So I, because we mentioned Terral Cards too
[00:23:54] [SPEAKER_02]: and I, so Patty Lupone's character,
[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Liliacalda Liliac.
[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_02]: So she had a necklace on that looked like a Terral Card.
[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Did you catch that?
[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't catch what it was.
[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I started paying attention to each character
[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_02]: and each character had a necklace,
[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_02]: a different necklace.
[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And there, I don't, again,
[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_04]: they represent their powers.
[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so because I know,
[00:24:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I just, I think it's worth kind of diving in and I tried to pause
[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_02]: and I tried to zoom in and I couldn't quite get it.
[00:24:31] [SPEAKER_02]: But Liliacalda, like she,
[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_02]: and she was the divination, right?
[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And so I really feel like,
[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_02]: and I don't know anything about Terral Cards,
[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_02]: but there's five of them, correct?
[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Which, again, we were talking,
[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_04]: there's,
[00:24:51] [SPEAKER_02]: no, I mean, I mean of the witches.
[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, five of them.
[00:24:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Right, there's five of them.
[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And we were talking about pentagons
[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_02]: because the, the town is,
[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't, I don't know enough about the topic and I think it would,
[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, now that I know,
[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_02]: now I can start pecking at you with some questions
[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_02]: because yeah,
[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I do think that they probably are related to certain Terral Cards.
[00:25:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I just don't know enough about them and there's that.
[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_04]: And it calls and the number five are very present in,
[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_04]: like witchcraft and supernatural beliefs.
[00:25:25] [SPEAKER_04]: There are certain numbers that have meaning three,
[00:25:28] [SPEAKER_04]: seven, five, nine, I don't know,
[00:25:30] [SPEAKER_04]: like all the odd numbers.
[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_04]: But pentacles show up in lots of different
[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_04]: faiths all over, you know,
[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_04]: our planet and all throughout history,
[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_04]: pentacles have been used by a number of different
[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_04]: cults, occult believers,
[00:25:50] [SPEAKER_04]: witchcraft practitioners and religions.
[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And I don't really know what the origins are of that,
[00:25:59] [SPEAKER_04]: maybe that would be some interesting research.
[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's often believed that
[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_04]: that it represents like the,
[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_04]: the five points represent like five elements.
[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, so it's like earth air,
[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_04]: fire, water, and spirit or soul, whatever.
[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Which is obviously they're connected to all of these parts,
[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_02]: because it's in the song.
[00:26:22] [SPEAKER_02]: So they needed the green witch.
[00:26:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, arguably the most important skill set.
[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I assume that the fifth witch that Lillia,
[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_04]: the black heart was Rio.
[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Right?
[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Because Rio said she has a heart,
[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_04]: it's black and it beats for Agatha.
[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_02]: But so is,
[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_02]: well, so I guess the question is,
[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_02]: is Rio really there and we don't know it?
[00:26:49] [SPEAKER_04]: And I also wanted to know, you know,
[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_04]: she saw the crow,
[00:26:52] [SPEAKER_04]: the rat,
[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_04]: and the coyote following her.
[00:26:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Was that Rio?
[00:26:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think that it was.
[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Was that the Salem seven or were that familiar?
[00:27:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that it was the Salem seven is what I think.
[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_02]: But I don't know the answer to that.
[00:27:06] [SPEAKER_02]: My assumption was because we've got just looking at my notes,
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_02]: because we had several animals,
[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_02]: the ones that we saw.
[00:27:14] [SPEAKER_02]: So we had,
[00:27:15] [SPEAKER_02]: we had the first one was the crow.
[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_02]: The second one was the rat.
[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_02]: The third one was the coyote.
[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Then we heard an owl.
[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_02]: So I think that's the,
[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't notice the owl.
[00:27:27] [SPEAKER_04]: So that's four.
[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_04]: So maybe there wasn't even a fifth one and I didn't catch it.
[00:27:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And then, well,
[00:27:32] [SPEAKER_02]: so, and then when the Salem seven presented,
[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_02]: there was the lady in the front,
[00:27:36] [SPEAKER_02]: and she had a bunch of stuff on her neck that kind of looked like a snake to me.
[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe there's a snake part.
[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I just assumed that,
[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_02]: but now that you mentioned it,
[00:27:46] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe it was Rio because she was not in the episode.
[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_02]: When you have an actress like Aubrey Plaza who blew it out of the water,
[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_02]: an episode one and you don't put her in the second episode,
[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_02]: it makes me think.
[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_02]: So you know,
[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe the,
[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe maybe the Sharon character is not really who we think it is.
[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I,
[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_02]: she's quote unquote the green witch.
[00:28:07] [SPEAKER_02]: And if I'm correct me if I'm wrong,
[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_02]: there was a scene in episode one where there's like a greenish kind of hue,
[00:28:15] [SPEAKER_02]: emanating from Rio when she was doing some stuff,
[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_02]: when she turned all black when she was all in that black out that I think.
[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember that thing.
[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_04]: So I thought about like different,
[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_04]: which is have different colors.
[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Or that the colors mean something.
[00:28:30] [SPEAKER_04]: So it could be like a green element.
[00:28:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And so this is what excites me the most about this show,
[00:28:38] [SPEAKER_02]: is that much like the guardians of the galaxy.
[00:28:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know much about them.
[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't even less about the characters in this.
[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_02]: These all seem like the types of characters that you know,
[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_02]: you love to get your hands on because they're,
[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_02]: they're deep into Marvel lore,
[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_02]: but they're not known commodities.
[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_02]: So do we have colors coming out?
[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_02]: How's this team going to fit together?
[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I've just so excited by all of that because it does feel like we're getting this puzzle.
[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a lot more clear to me than the puzzle we got in one division,
[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_02]: one division I just was kind of sitting back to the whole thing wondering,
[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_02]: what the hell is happening here?
[00:29:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And this one feels more like magical puzzle that's being put together slowly but surely.
[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_02]: And the pieces that they put together are amazing.
[00:29:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Like we know nothing about the Salem's seven.
[00:29:30] [SPEAKER_02]: We don't know the witches that are in that.
[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_04]: They're so scary though, man.
[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_04]: The way they moved all like herky jerky and then like sometimes like skipping forward
[00:29:38] [SPEAKER_04]: like as if they had skipped time or teleported or something.
[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And like the way they were like, you know, crashing through the windows of the house
[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_04]: and the noises they were making there were like,
[00:29:49] [SPEAKER_04]: whoever get the heart is.
[00:29:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that was the jump scare that we we watch that episode right after recorded episode one.
[00:29:59] [SPEAKER_02]: After I said yeah, the show doesn't scare me at all.
[00:30:01] [SPEAKER_02]: That's scared.
[00:30:02] [SPEAKER_02]: That's yeah.
[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And then when crawling down the stairs.
[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, so unnatural.
[00:30:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, and I loved that scene when they're hearing the the Salem's seven coming
[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_04]: and they're in the basement and and and teen runs down the stairs
[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_04]: and it's like, is that the road?
[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's go.
[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm in there.
[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, he's terrified of these witches coming
[00:30:23] [SPEAKER_04]: and then Jennifer Kale says,
[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_04]: No thank you.
[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Which I love just like I'm out of here.
[00:30:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And I don't remember what Lilya says or Alice but the best is where Sharon is like,
[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_04]: well, I don't know she's like, I don't know if I want to go in a magic door like this is crazy
[00:30:41] [SPEAKER_04]: and Aga says, what's your gut telling you and she's like, yeah, you're ready.
[00:30:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to go up there either.
[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I'm out.
[00:30:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I've known down the door.
[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Just like, hey, so what did your gut tell in you?
[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's still Katherine on to that.
[00:30:55] [SPEAKER_04]: But she's so like plain speak, right?
[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_04]: She's like, let me just boil it down to brass tax for you.
[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Like do you want to go up there?
[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_04]: What did your gut tell you about the sounds you're hearing that are coming from upstairs?
[00:31:09] [SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, Sharon is like, yeah, downstairs sounds good.
[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm alright with her purse and her son hatch.
[00:31:16] [SPEAKER_02]: So, you so listen, okay, I've got we've got to talk about this right now.
[00:31:20] [SPEAKER_02]: So let's talk about Deborah Jorop, they get her.
[00:31:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you caught this.
[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I was laughing so damn hard.
[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_02]: They bring her to the house.
[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_02]: She goes down into the basement.
[00:31:35] [SPEAKER_02]: The five of them get into a circle.
[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And then the camera shots are going around each character one at a time.
[00:31:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Just like the 70's showed, did you catch that?
[00:31:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, oh, like from the middle, like when they went to their weed circles, I didn't catch that.
[00:31:51] [SPEAKER_02]: She literally, she literally so funny.
[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_02]: She literally says, they said, who's gonna, uh, Jessica's gonna go high.
[00:32:01] [SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, oh, no, she goes, oh, no thank you.
[00:32:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't do drugs and then it began in the whole rest of that scene with them singing this amazing part.
[00:32:10] [SPEAKER_04]: It was a, it was a circle from that 70's show.
[00:32:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like, I was, it was like, I cannot believe they're pulling this off.
[00:32:18] [SPEAKER_04]: And I thought it was so funny when she goes, are we all gonna do laundry together?
[00:32:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I've got your so cute.
[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_04]: If this game of thrones, one of them would have said, oh my sweet summer child.
[00:32:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, god.
[00:32:39] [SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm not going to laundry together.
[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I just, I just love the fact that they probably just said, you need to be that 70's show character.
[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_02]: You need to be that character and play that character.
[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_02]: So what becomes of her in this?
[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, my hope is that it's her and that she's just a powerful witch that we just never knew about.
[00:32:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Or that she, she never knew about it either.
[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And that this experience, like turns her into a powerful witch.
[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_04]: That would make me really happy for the character, right?
[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_04]: It'd be like you were just like some lady, right?
[00:33:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Her husband has passed away and now she gardens.
[00:33:15] [SPEAKER_04]: And then it turns out you're a powerful witch and you had this power you never knew about.
[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that's a great second act in life.
[00:33:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Pretty sure.
[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, awesome.
[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_04]: That's like, I never got my Harry Potter letter when I turned 11, but then when I'm 55,
[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I find out I'm a witch.
[00:33:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that's even better.
[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh goodness.
[00:33:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm a little old to have waited for my Harry Potter letter, but um.
[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, you know, yeah, but I still, they're re-making their re-making Harry Potter.
[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe the letters are still coming.
[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_04]: For older people, I do know some people that hired an owl Wrangler and had the Wrangler dress up in Wizard Robes
[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_04]: and take a letter to their daughter on her 11th birthday.
[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, come on. That's amazing.
[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_04]: It was some of the cutest pictures I've ever seen.
[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_04]: The kid was like over the moon. She was so excited.
[00:34:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:34:11] [SPEAKER_02]: The locket.
[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Who's here?
[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_02]: We don't know.
[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_04]: We don't know.
[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, again, another.
[00:34:20] [SPEAKER_02]: But the CVS aren't.
[00:34:21] [SPEAKER_02]: These are questions you know we're going to be answered.
[00:34:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I'm so tired of showing us that without answering that question.
[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Because we, of course, everybody has black hair.
[00:34:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Like is it, is it the kid's hair? Is it Rio's hair?
[00:34:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Is it someone's, is it her son's hair?
[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, her son. One of these people is so, you know, as I'm watching the second show,
[00:34:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm watching this boy and Rio is not part of this at all.
[00:34:46] [SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, wait a second.
[00:34:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Wait a second.
[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Is he Rio?
[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I'm like, is Deborah Joe Rapprio?
[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_02]: And we just, there's so much.
[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_02]: There's so much.
[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_02]: So this is so much.
[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I have, I knew the actresses were going to be amazing.
[00:35:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought maybe the story was going to be good.
[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And I had a conversation with Jason Kovassi, the, you know, podcast, because
[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_02]: paternal influence will say.
[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_02]: And he was very optimistic about the showrunner and,
[00:35:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I, I was just hesitant.
[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I am not hesitant anymore.
[00:35:31] [SPEAKER_02]: We're two episodes into the series and it's exciting already.
[00:35:35] [SPEAKER_02]: They've, they've asked great questions and they haven't done it by just asking the questions.
[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_02]: This show is based in humor.
[00:35:43] [SPEAKER_02]: There's so much humor in it.
[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_04]: It's so funny and it's also really scary.
[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_04]: It kind of reminds me of like the style of Sam Ramey, you know, like,
[00:35:54] [SPEAKER_04]: like a drag me to how evil dead to like this complete land of
[00:35:59] [SPEAKER_02]: a second spider man movie, which was literally horror wrapped in humor.
[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And then he's Dr. Strange movie was also fun to work.
[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And this has a similar flavor but very much the female gaze,
[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_04]: very female empowered, which you know,
[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_02]: how, how refreshing to have all of these extremely strong feminine characters
[00:36:27] [SPEAKER_02]: who are completely empowered by whom they are.
[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And not one of them is seeking romance.
[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Nope.
[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_02]: None of them has that plot line.
[00:36:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Nope.
[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Not at all.
[00:36:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And I am so, gosh, I never even thought that each episode might be
[00:36:52] [SPEAKER_02]: the cowardly lions finding out how brave he could be.
[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I've never, never occurred to me that we were going to get.
[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you can see the Wizard of Oz.
[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I had no idea where you were heading down a road for one thing.
[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_02]: So you were probably laughing at me all the way through episode one.
[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I have just got no idea.
[00:37:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And I, and the visage of the road, I don't know what to see there.
[00:37:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think so.
[00:37:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And with the shoes sitting there, yeah, I mean it looked like a creepy.
[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Not that the Wizard of Oz road isn't creepy, but it certainly looked like the creepy version of the
[00:37:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Yellowbroke road, right?
[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Like the shoe image.
[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god.
[00:37:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I loved that shot of the shoes, you know, from behind.
[00:37:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And then walking down the road.
[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And just the representation of, you know, they all took off their shoes and they leave them all there neatly,
[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_04]: you know, they're just like side by side.
[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And they're all different shoes that each represent the personality of the person who was wearing them.
[00:37:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Sharon's were like gardening, like rubber duck shoes, which was perfect for her.
[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, and Alice had combat boots.
[00:38:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think the teen had something kind of like combat boots.
[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Genie were shoes were like really chic pointy-toed ankle boots.
[00:38:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I was like this is somebody put some serious thought into what these shoes would be.
[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And how they would look from behind and exactly how they would be placed on the path.
[00:38:25] [SPEAKER_04]: It was it was a beautiful, like cinematic graphic on moment.
[00:38:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Perfect way to end it. Perfect way to end that episode.
[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And I said to myself out loud, because I'm a door, can I talk to myself when I'm watching TV?
[00:38:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I said, I thought politics made strange bed fellows but magic.
[00:38:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought it was like, dark.
[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_04]: There's no one here listening to you except the cat, but you should have just called me.
[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, you texted me the picture of the teen with his mouth sewn up and just wrote,
[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_04]: no, and I laughed so hard.
[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I was so excited when she said, who are you?
[00:39:06] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like we're going to find out right and I was like, oh, we're not.
[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_02]: So of course, I rebound and I listened to whatever sound that they made.
[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't pay one lick of attention to that little swiggle.
[00:39:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And then she walked up closer and I got up off of my couch and went right up to my 65 inch television set.
[00:39:24] [SPEAKER_02]: And I put my Europe against it.
[00:39:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, that is not even a real.
[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_02]: That is a, that's like a horn like muted.
[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And they're just, they're just screwed with us.
[00:39:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And then if I could tell you how long I spent watching him talking in the car.
[00:39:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Trying to do it with the lips.
[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Flip read.
[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Here's what I found out.
[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't lip read.
[00:39:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, and that yes.
[00:39:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's the only thing I got out of that.
[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like, you see you.
[00:39:54] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[00:39:54] [SPEAKER_04]: We have one thing.
[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I tried putting like Spanish close cat.
[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I tried everything like maybe they'll put it in Spanish.
[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Nope.
[00:40:02] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what makes me think that the mother he thinks is his mother is not really his mother.
[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Is that that was not muted.
[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Hmm, that's a good point.
[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_02]: That just popped really late.
[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Because every other detail about himself has been muted,
[00:40:20] [SPEAKER_04]: except when he said that the boyfriend is protective or whatever,
[00:40:25] [SPEAKER_04]: and is about his mother going to the concert.
[00:40:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Everything else.
[00:40:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Or whatever it was about the hokey pokeball.
[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And then she's like, I never want to hear those words paired together again.
[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I, I bid on a limited edition signed LP of the ballad.
[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_02]: But it cost more than I make in a whole summer at the hokey pokeball.
[00:40:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't ever want to hear those words paired together again.
[00:40:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Again.
[00:40:48] [SPEAKER_02]: We're just, yeah.
[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Didn't have to be there.
[00:40:52] [SPEAKER_02]: But just those two saying those two things fit together a little like a symphony.
[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there were so many of those.
[00:41:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, oh my god.
[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_02]: When she walks in to the tarot card place.
[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh and pretends to be like whatever that character was.
[00:41:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Where do you keep your j-dags?
[00:41:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh that one.
[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh when she walks into the, I should, to the potty.
[00:41:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh it was, it was, that was yeah I was, yeah I'm sorry.
[00:41:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I was in the wrong place.
[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I, I'm fresh out of marbles and my pelvic floor is all over the place.
[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And then she says to those two strange things.
[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_04]: She want to go see Blitzies.
[00:41:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like, oh, what it goes.
[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Not the best part is the end of that.
[00:41:35] [SPEAKER_02]: She says that and it goes.
[00:41:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Anyone?
[00:41:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And then when she leaves, she takes an egg.
[00:41:45] [SPEAKER_04]: She's like, you'll know where to find it.
[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, okay.
[00:41:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know, yeah.
[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, she is one of my favorite actresses, bar none.
[00:41:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Like she is so amazing and she is in real life.
[00:42:00] [SPEAKER_02]: This amazing human being, um, super kind person.
[00:42:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I am so happy that they found a role for her.
[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_02]: And I so hope that this show, please if you're, if you're watching this and
[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_02]: hesitate, like tell friends about the show.
[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_02]: This show needs to succeed because this character, these characters need to continue to
[00:42:20] [SPEAKER_02]: be weave woven in the out of this new phase.
[00:42:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I, yeah. I mean, I, I have loved her for a long time but it really does feel like she was born
[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_04]: for this role. She inhabits it fully and I get the sense constantly that this is
[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_04]: like the most fun she's ever had is playing agatha.
[00:42:41] [SPEAKER_04]: She is having a ball.
[00:42:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And who wouldn't? Like she's over the top. She's campus.
[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_04]: She's powerful. She's funny. She's clearly smart.
[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_04]: She gets to physical fights.
[00:42:53] [SPEAKER_04]: She gets to like, you know, where fabulous clothes, like that outfit.
[00:42:58] [SPEAKER_02]: She gets to take all those fabulous, yeah. Oh, yeah.
[00:43:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah. She takes off all her clothes.
[00:43:03] [SPEAKER_02]: She's not, she's a fearless actress.
[00:43:06] [SPEAKER_02]: She's scary.
[00:43:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you go back to one division and when she turns full on evil,
[00:43:14] [SPEAKER_02]: it's scary.
[00:43:14] [SPEAKER_02]: It's scary.
[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_02]: It's scary.
[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Very believable. He's scary. Yeah.
[00:43:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. And the fact that you have a character that because of her skill set, her ability to take magic,
[00:43:24] [SPEAKER_02]: you start picturing her, you know, with somebody like the sorcerer's supreme.
[00:43:30] [SPEAKER_02]: You start picturing like the kind of havoc that she could create or the kind of power that she could bring
[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_04]: to her evil. Yeah. And I just, and I get the feeling her choice of whether to be good or evil
[00:43:45] [SPEAKER_04]: is going to be self-servant.
[00:43:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Right? Like that's who she is.
[00:43:50] [SPEAKER_04]: She's, she's self-centered.
[00:43:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And maybe this series will bring out another side of her
[00:43:55] [SPEAKER_04]: and she'll learn to be on an out-to-actually care about other people.
[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_04]: But right now, those people are just like, they're just resources to her.
[00:44:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Yeah. She's like, I need, I need a covenant. I'll get one.
[00:44:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And this kid, there's something about him. I'll find out what it is and see if I can suck that power right out of him.
[00:44:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And I still don't know if she really thought they were going to go on the road or if the entire purpose of all of that
[00:44:25] [SPEAKER_04]: was just to get enough people in a room together that they would develop a spark of magic that she could steal.
[00:44:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, you saw it. That, well, it's sure seemed like it because that's she has that moment when the road doesn't show up.
[00:44:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Right? Or did she know that the road wouldn't show up unless the spark of magic happened?
[00:44:46] [SPEAKER_04]: And the only way she could get it to happen was by making them mad. I don't know.
[00:44:51] [SPEAKER_02]: So here's, you know, here is kind of something that was really not a major part of the show that I feel is sort of important.
[00:44:59] [SPEAKER_02]: We know she was on the road before we know she made it to the end of the road.
[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_02]: We have no idea what happened. We have no idea what the point of that was.
[00:45:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Was it, you know, we there was a talk of sacrificing a child.
[00:45:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Sacrifice her son or did her son die?
[00:45:22] [SPEAKER_04]: And she got power from it, but she didn't intend that to happen.
[00:45:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Like the look on her face when Jennifer Kale said that to her, like this is another child sacrifice was so subtle.
[00:45:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It was like, I am not going to let you see how much that is making me upset. Look, it was like, it was buried and it was painful.
[00:45:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought it was amazing.
[00:45:46] [SPEAKER_02]: It's occurred to me as we're talking that, you know, if her son died, did she go on the road initially to bring him back?
[00:45:56] [SPEAKER_03]: It did work.
[00:45:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Was her power pull with Wanda the only way she could acquire the kind of power she needs to bring her son back?
[00:46:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Is this second attempt?
[00:46:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I, there's just it's and if so, then obviously real plays a part in this somehow.
[00:46:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, I, this is like so completely far away from what I was talking about in episode one, both of them.
[00:46:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, everything we've been talking about all viable, all still on the table could be completely wrong.
[00:46:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:46:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Could be completely wrong.
[00:46:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I have no idea where this is going.
[00:46:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, there are certain things that I think I see, right?
[00:46:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I think each character gets an episode where we get their backstory.
[00:46:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm pretty sure about that.
[00:46:46] [SPEAKER_04]: But beyond that, like, I don't know where we're going and it is so unusual to not be able to predict where story is going.
[00:46:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Right?
[00:46:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Like most stories, you kind of know where we're going to end up or you figured out along the way.
[00:47:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And this is what I'm like, it could go anywhere.
[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.
[00:47:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't mean because these, some of these characters intertwined with fantastic four are we heading down a path that somehow incorporates them.
[00:47:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Or are we going to stick on the TV side since they've rebranded their television?
[00:47:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Are we heading towards what eventually folds into vision quest?
[00:47:24] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's the same showrunner, right?
[00:47:28] [SPEAKER_04]: The showrunner for this wrote the fantastic four movie.
[00:47:32] [SPEAKER_04]: So I have to believe Marvel did that on purpose.
[00:47:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Right?
[00:47:36] [SPEAKER_04]: That's not a coincidence.
[00:47:37] [SPEAKER_04]: They were like, I think all of these things link together.
[00:47:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's why they have the same director, writer working on them.
[00:47:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know.
[00:47:46] [SPEAKER_04]: They don't have like the same director work on like a completely unrelated project.
[00:47:52] Rare.
[00:47:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Marvel is very careful about keeping their styles together and their voices together and where they're meant to be.
[00:48:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think it's a strength of theirs is that they have all these different styles and then they know when to mix them and when not to mix them.
[00:48:08] [SPEAKER_04]: That's brilliant.
[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_04]: But I think they are very sure about this that one division.
[00:48:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Agatha fantastic four mixed who's running vision quest?
[00:48:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know who's show running that.
[00:48:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I honestly did not even know that was a thing until I started prepping for Agatha.
[00:48:29] [SPEAKER_02]: So so I have no idea.
[00:48:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I have no idea what it's about.
[00:48:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I have no idea what version we're going to get and I don't know who's running it or even if they know who's going to run.
[00:48:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's very.
[00:48:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Matelas MATALAS and it looks like it's going to be in 2026.
[00:48:49] [SPEAKER_04]: So whatever it's about either comes out of fantastic four or is unrelated to fantastic four right?
[00:48:55] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not going to be something that feeds in on it.
[00:48:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Matelas worked on the show Picard for Paramount.
[00:49:02] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what he was the season three Picard guy who brought it all.
[00:49:07] [SPEAKER_02]: They, oh come on.
[00:49:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's a clever word there.
[00:49:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, okay so so I you know and the tie-ins they're doing and I show you asked a great question episode one.
[00:49:21] [SPEAKER_02]: You asked about the house and there it was in episode two.
[00:49:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I know I was so happy.
[00:49:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like I got my first answer.
[00:49:28] [SPEAKER_04]: There's my first answer.
[00:49:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, in this house is there and people have been graffitiing it as they should.
[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_02]: But the way she was staring at that house sort of with.
[00:49:39] [SPEAKER_02]: There was some to stain to it but there was also.
[00:49:43] [SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't just anger.
[00:49:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and then the splitting.
[00:49:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, well yeah.
[00:49:50] [SPEAKER_02]: And then the walk away I just I.
[00:49:53] [SPEAKER_02]: So good so good.
[00:49:55] [SPEAKER_02]: All right anyways, I don't want to I just could I could I could we've been out of a lot of this stuff yet.
[00:50:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I, um there we have a feeling that when I watch episode three I'm going to have to go back and watch a bit of episode two because what I know like I said there were two or three things that happened in episode two.
[00:50:12] [SPEAKER_02]: That maybe go back and watch episode one.
[00:50:14] [SPEAKER_02]: And if and A, I think this is the type of show that we're going to be able to watch and rewatch numerous times and catch things.
[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_02]: That we haven't caught before so you know seven episodes left and we have no answers.
[00:50:30] [SPEAKER_02]: We don't have really all of the characters on the board yet because some of the characters we know about aren't there.
[00:50:37] [SPEAKER_02]: We don't we haven't met any of the Salem seven and I assume that's going to be part of this it would be silly to have them without them being important.
[00:50:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, maybe maybe not I just hope I hope they're not like caricature characters.
[00:50:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I hope they're not like, you know just sort of know these black shrouded people.
[00:50:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I hope we have a little bit of backstory to them too.
[00:51:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I have to assume what I bet they're not going to show up again until towards the end when we get to more of Agatha's backstory.
[00:51:11] [SPEAKER_04]: It's just my feeling is that we're going to get everyone else's backstory first and Agatha's story.
[00:51:17] [SPEAKER_04]: At the end just structurally I think that makes sense.
[00:51:22] [SPEAKER_02]: So do you think? Do you think that so I have to imagine though it's some point on this journey that they're going to have to feel pressure from behind them and not just what's in front.
[00:51:37] [SPEAKER_02]: So are do you think that they're just going to be kind of an endgame sort of thing or at some point are we going to start feeling their pressure as we're adding down.
[00:51:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I think you're right that there's going to be there's going to be pressure from behind whether that's the Salem seven or Rio or whoever is responsible for the kids, you know muted magic.
[00:52:02] [SPEAKER_04]: That I don't I can't predict that.
[00:52:04] [SPEAKER_02]: So as the Salem seven you know to pull in your other show.
[00:52:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Hmm.
[00:52:09] [SPEAKER_02]: To pull in the lore of your other show are we looking at ring rates here is that.
[00:52:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's what they kind of look like.
[00:52:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're very racy.
[00:52:18] [SPEAKER_02]: If they show up on if they show up on giant black horses then.
[00:52:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, then we'll know that that they are living dead creatures of some kind.
[00:52:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I assume that they are the seven witches she stole power from in Salem in one division.
[00:52:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well I did go back and watch just to make sure that I wasn't just talking out of my butt there were seven.
[00:52:44] [SPEAKER_02]: There were seven there were seven streams of power flowing into agatha when she took their power.
[00:52:51] [SPEAKER_02]: And because that's when I believe she learned that she could take power away so.
[00:52:57] [SPEAKER_02]: It would make sense if those were the seven and her new come in has to battle her old come in which is a fun little story.
[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I had a dream of it.
[00:53:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And all that I don't know I don't I just don't understand the real part of the story.
[00:53:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I hope they get I've into it.
[00:53:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Obviously that's going to be the agatha part of the story but yeah we don't know our main character's backstory.
[00:53:22] [SPEAKER_02]: No way at all nothing.
[00:53:25] [SPEAKER_04]: 300 years of emptiness.
[00:53:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we have no idea it's so great.
[00:53:31] [SPEAKER_04]: So great.
[00:53:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, I want to go through the the the the coven and the things we learn about coven's.
[00:53:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, we learn that there is a rule called the Coven's dead rule that wherever you are a coven there shall be.
[00:53:47] [SPEAKER_04]: And that says that within any three mile radius there will be a collection of whichy enough people to form a coven.
[00:53:56] [SPEAKER_04]: And even if those people are weak or what she calls down and out, that when you get them together, it can create a magical spark.
[00:54:05] [SPEAKER_04]: And then we we saw that happen right she got the people together and they sang the song and collectively their powers greater than the sum of its parts and they were able to.
[00:54:17] [SPEAKER_04]: To conjure the door and enter the road.
[00:54:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like okay we know a thing about a coven like that's at it to the rules list.
[00:54:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I was really excited thinking about coven's I spent a bunch of time thinking about coven's and like I realized that if I were to say I had a coven lately it's the four of us who are working on the buffy podcast that I've jokingly named the slay squad.
[00:54:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm like that's my coven that's who's in my coven that's my been proud to be part of that coven.
[00:54:52] [SPEAKER_02]: That's it. It's a good coven. It's a strong. We're going to have to figure out we're going to have to figure out our diverse roles right.
[00:55:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah exactly and I think we need a fifth member of the coven to make it one of the mystical numbers for might be an unstable number for a coven so I got I got to think about that.
[00:55:10] [SPEAKER_02]: What's fun is immediately like several names popped into my head.
[00:55:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Several several names for a lot of different reasons popped into my head so maybe we're all four of us cat people too so.
[00:55:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah okay so we might have to maybe maybe we'll have a series of guest hosts on the show where we will not let them know that we are interviewing them to be part of our coven.
[00:55:34] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a coven try out time. It's fantastic. Oh and I yeah I thought a lot about coven's that's why the witchie question of the week this week was what would you name your coven we only got one answer.
[00:55:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Side hustles who wasn't that said that I'm as well answer down Chad Johnson. Thank you for answering my question Chad and the rest of you come on get with a program.
[00:55:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what the witchie question of the week will be for next week I'll come up with something good.
[00:56:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay as your cat as your cat very appropriately your black cat hops up on but real great for the podcast you can't see this but Penny's cat just her black cat just hopped up on the chair behind her because clearly he wants to know who the fifth member of the coven is exactly I have been calling him my familiar for years.
[00:56:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Even though I do not consider myself a practicing witch and the most I've ever done is like a you know like a sage blessing on my my condo.
[00:56:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And Terracard readings but I have always been as we talked about before sort of fascinated by witches and witchcraft and so I you know you get a black a little black cat you know that it's a witchie's cat like he just is a witchie's cat.
[00:56:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I also call him the podcast because he likes to always be part of the podcasting he like always comes and sits with me when I'm podcasting so.
[00:57:01] [SPEAKER_02]: The picture that you just posted by the way of of.
[00:57:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Have sitting in your chair in front of your laptop is fantastic yeah he's always got to be a part of it at home I have a bigger desk at home and he has a cat bed on the desk because it was the only way to get him to stop like.
[00:57:19] [SPEAKER_04]: knocking over the microphone and like stepping on the keyboard was to give him his own special spot on the desk.
[00:57:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh yeah enough cat talk anyway.
[00:57:31] [SPEAKER_04]: So coven's coven's are cool I like the idea of coven's it's a word that's also used for vampire groups.
[00:57:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's a coven and I don't know why those are the two supernatural groups that are called coven's because you never hear I mean where wolves are always a pack of where wolves.
[00:57:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Um I don't know if other magical creatures have names for what they are when they're grouped together.
[00:57:56] [SPEAKER_02]: A herd of zeds.
[00:57:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yes zombies are always a hoard or a herd.
[00:58:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah maybe I'll look into that like collective plurals plural nouns for.
[00:58:11] [SPEAKER_04]: For mystical creatures yeah I I don't think dragons tend to collect in groups.
[00:58:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think that's a thing they seem to all be loners which always makes me wonder how they breed but whatever.
[00:58:26] [SPEAKER_04]: We have my other podcast cast of the rings we have mystical creatures on there as well.
[00:58:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh but no witches over there it's wizards and they are loner creatures.
[00:58:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Wizards wander and are are alone.
[00:58:44] [SPEAKER_04]: But they're really they're sent from the gods it's a whole big thing you have if you want to know a token lore listen to that podcast.
[00:58:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, definitely.
[00:58:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Um we never really finished talking about teen I'm going to circle back and say that his whole motivation for all of this is that he wants agathetic take him on the road.
[00:59:02] [SPEAKER_04]: And he says that the road gives you what you're missing.
[00:59:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And what he's missing is power.
[00:59:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Now why does he need power? Why is he so intent at 16 years old on acquiring power?
[00:59:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh we don't she never asks them because I don't think she cares.
[00:59:22] [SPEAKER_04]: But I want to know like what's happening in his life because he seems like a pretty happy kid.
[00:59:27] [SPEAKER_04]: You know he's like oh my mom went to that concert and I work at the hokey bokey bowl and I have a boyfriend. Why do you need power kid? What's going on?
[00:59:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah we're going on.
[00:59:39] [SPEAKER_02]: We know nothing about him.
[00:59:40] [SPEAKER_02]: We really don't know anything about any of these characters.
[00:59:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah we know what the motivations are for the other members of the covenant right Jennifer Pail is she's been bound and she's in in
[00:59:53] [SPEAKER_04]: to met in with sort of one mundane world problems lawsuits for odd whatever all that stuff is.
[01:00:02] [SPEAKER_04]: The the divination which Lillia is being evicted from her already kind of crappy apartment.
[01:00:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Alice doesn't know what she's sort of it seems like she's losing her abilities or her like control over her ability.
[01:00:20] [SPEAKER_02]: There was that moment where she says agatha says I'm not looking for right minded witches as it happens and then patty lapone turns around and screams.
[01:00:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah it's like catharton goes looks like we came to the right place.
[01:00:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah she's you know I guess you know looking to find herself and kind of you know she's older for sure.
[01:00:52] [SPEAKER_02]: She she's four hundred and fifteen years older something like that and so she maybe she's just looking for one final road.
[01:01:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Who knows?
[01:01:01] [SPEAKER_04]: But her life is not great so this is a good choice for her and also you know she had a vision of who the names were supposed to be on that in the covenant
[01:01:11] [SPEAKER_04]: and her wrote her own name down without realizing it so in some way she knows that this is meant to happen.
[01:01:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah right so she's following her own vision there and yeah Alice doesn't know what happened to her mother and.
[01:01:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Sharon thought she was coming to a party so we don't really know what motivates her yet we don't have a real handle on her story we know her husband is dead.
[01:01:35] [SPEAKER_04]: We know that she presents as a complete sweetie pie.
[01:01:40] [SPEAKER_04]: You know when Agatha walks up to her and is like you know which was hilarious because you can see her she was like I'm angry and then she's like all right get your face you have to perform.
[01:01:49] [SPEAKER_04]: You know like it was such a moment of of just bakery visible bakery was so hilarious and then she's like I missed don't you look fabulous like.
[01:02:01] [SPEAKER_04]: It was it was so not wichy everything about her was not wichy and she's like you know your garden looks right and she's like oh no you have not like oh my god let me just grab my purse a party like.
[01:02:13] [SPEAKER_02]: She couldn't be less like the other characters but she did she did she said she's like do I have to sing to and if I supposed to know the no song.
[01:02:25] [SPEAKER_02]: And then she did like immediately her voice after that yeah which joins in and then she's the one that spots the door.
[01:02:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah yeah so.
[01:02:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe there's power there maybe she's pretending to be this sweet Sharon Davis character the idea that there's like another secret wit whitch hiding in the same street.
[01:02:49] [SPEAKER_04]: In West view that that wand was on and agathas on is kind of a stretch but like maybe power is drawn to power so.
[01:02:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean an unfairness I mean her real name is Sharon Davis but she was Mrs. Hart in the fake world of.
[01:03:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Wanda in that episode one she was Mr it was Mr and Mrs. Hart I guess we assume that Mr Hart was her actual husband so he passed away we don't know why he passed away we don't know did she have more of a role in that first series that we don't know about.
[01:03:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah I don't know and she was Mrs. Hart in in the delusion of Agnes of East town she was still Mrs. Hart in that so.
[01:03:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry that's still mixed.
[01:03:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah this is not a car.
[01:03:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:03:41] [SPEAKER_04]: She's like you're driving.
[01:03:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Very fortunate that he had a car.
[01:03:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh man I'm so cute together like when he pulls out his phone and calls Jennifer out on her lawsuit problems.
[01:03:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And then Agathas is like she like folds into him like all of a sudden she's like oh I approve of you your my kind of people like the way you were like you really cleaned up my pores and you're having a lawsuit like the way you folded those two things together like we are.
[01:04:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Simpati.
[01:04:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Like almost like mother son or maybe nanny and former baby sitting.
[01:04:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh Franklin Richards no.
[01:04:31] [SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no.
[01:04:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean anything's possible but um.
[01:04:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay that's just that's making my brain hurt.
[01:04:44] [SPEAKER_02]: It's definitely not no no no.
[01:04:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah I if there's a if there's a Franklin Richards as a as a some sort of wicked out there I don't know that story.
[01:05:00] [SPEAKER_02]: There was kind of like a series of scary events that happened really enhanced the singing scene which.
[01:05:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah to me one of the I mean one of my personal like all time like iconic like Marvel moments is that missing that song like all of this stuff is happening in the background.
[01:05:21] [SPEAKER_02]: And I was really worried about the team you know he's just upstairs and the rabbit I was like don't feel the rabbit.
[01:05:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh well so so yeah I mean there was a very small part that seemed very deliberate when.
[01:05:37] [SPEAKER_02]: The team walked up and grabbed senior scratchy and said I got you it's okay buddy and there was a.
[01:05:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I believe when he first sees the rabbit is oh like he was kind of expecting to see him who what this rabbit is.
[01:05:53] [SPEAKER_02]: We don't know seems seems important though it's seen and that he seemed familiar with that rabbit so.
[01:06:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I got to think that I got to think that some I got to let it go.
[01:06:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I got to let it go I got to wait you got to wait to watch episode three got away to watch episode three which yeah that was really my last.
[01:06:15] [SPEAKER_02]: So you go ahead and take a peek and see if I can find out the title.
[01:06:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Awesome.
[01:06:23] [SPEAKER_04]: So the by last sort of two notes are I thought Alice Wu Mallcop was hilarious and the way that it says to teen run.
[01:06:33] [SPEAKER_04]: And knowing that the Mallcop will have to like take him down because it'll look like he's shoplifting and that that will be their way in with her that was just very silly and funny and.
[01:06:45] [SPEAKER_04]: The closing credits have a different song this week it's an instrumental piece it's not season of the which it had really spooky.
[01:06:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Vocalizations that were there were no words it was just like oh like that and I couldn't tell what all the instruments were but I think there was a harpsichord mixed in there and it was spooky.
[01:07:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I also think that there were some new images that weren't in their last time.
[01:07:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I have to I tried to try to I tried to catch it but I I'm not like go side.
[01:07:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah it's going to take long time to analyze that and I haven't gotten there yet so maybe maybe for episode three I will have the time to to go frame by frame through there.
[01:07:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course if we have a fantastic listener there was a fantastic listener out there who's just staring at the closing credits trying to figure them all out.
[01:07:43] [SPEAKER_02]: And if you could please the tarot cards and the closing either driving me nuts I don't know what they mean and I need someone to tell me what they need.
[01:07:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I'll make a particular note to try to look at those because I'm interested in that as well.
[01:07:55] [SPEAKER_04]: All right we're going to take a little break and we'll be right back.
[01:08:46] [SPEAKER_04]: And we're back and we have a little bit of news although it's not really news it's more like speculation this is an article from screen rant.com and I just pulled out some excerpts.
[01:08:58] [SPEAKER_04]: There is a lot of speculation about the fisto and a character called black heart from Marvel comics and whether or not they're going to be part of this show.
[01:09:09] [SPEAKER_04]: So, Mufisto is based on the foused demon character, Mufisto Feliz and he's one of Marvel comics most notable recognized and powerful super villains.
[01:09:20] [SPEAKER_04]: This prominence makes his debut in the MCU inevitable, but Mufisto has now been heavily rumored to be making his grand entrance for several years with hints of his existence being featured in wand division, Loki and she Hulk attorney at law among others.
[01:09:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Agatha all along may have just teased Mufisto yet again as there were several mentions of a black heart which could in fact be referring to Marvel comics's black heart.
[01:09:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Black heart is a terrifying character in Marvel comics created by Anna Senti and John Ramita Jr. in first scene in 1989's Daredevil No. 270.
[01:09:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Most commonly depicted as a dark and demonic adversary to ghost writer, black heart has crossed paths with a number of other heroes including Daredevil's Spider-Man Wolverine Wonder Man and Sam Wilson among others.
[01:10:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Black heart is remarkably powerful with a wealth of supernatural abilities and interestingly he's also depicted as Mufisto's son as the more notable demon used magic to create black heart.
[01:10:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Agatha all along first two episodes mentioned a quote black heart on several occasions.
[01:10:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Patty LaPolans Lily a Call to Rune notes an episode to that the fifth name she jotted down as a perspective member of the new covenant wasn't a name at all but a drawing of a black heart which then Agatha is like,
[01:10:43] [SPEAKER_04]: you were using a black pen so funny but it also refers to Aubrey Plaza's Rio who as we said earlier had that line I have a heart it's black and it beats for you.
[01:10:56] [SPEAKER_04]: So they could very easily have gender swapped Mufisto's child black heart and that could be Rio or black heart is another character that's going to show up or Mufisto's going to show up or neither of those things is going to happen at all.
[01:11:09] [SPEAKER_04]: It's all just speculation but it's interesting speculation.
[01:11:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that Mufisto has been ruboured in so many shows that if they actually pulled it off I would be very disappointed.
[01:11:23] [SPEAKER_04]: But you like it just being a rumor?
[01:11:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean well I mean Mufisto is a nominipulator and almost seems like we're breaking the fourth wall with him his rumored.
[01:11:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:11:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Is rumored appear at showing up in so many different shows.
[01:11:41] [SPEAKER_04]: But if they pull in black heart and I am not familiar with black heart from the comics but that would make so much sense if Rio is black heart.
[01:11:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Especially when you consider that the characters in the show are true bit players in the right word but like deep cut kind of kinds of characters.
[01:12:00] [SPEAKER_02]: If I didn't know any better I would say this is like James gun is like some because these are the types characters he historically has loved.
[01:12:08] [SPEAKER_02]: So I love that we have some showrunners that are like doing these deep poles with these characters.
[01:12:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I do too.
[01:12:15] [SPEAKER_04]: We just got one piece of listener feedback this week and Jimmy you want to read that.
[01:12:20] [SPEAKER_02]: All right Brad, hold two for two keep it coming and if you're listening please send us some feedback.
[01:12:24] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to be recording episode three sometime at the beginning and next week so you have some time.
[01:12:32] [SPEAKER_02]: So please get us in feedback that doesn't know what you think watch all the episodes they're worth watching.
[01:12:36] [SPEAKER_02]: All right Brad, hold great two episode actually was Brad the one who mentioned Mufisto in our episode.
[01:12:43] [SPEAKER_04]: No I think that was fake.
[01:12:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[01:12:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:12:47] [SPEAKER_02]: All right great two episode premiere we caught up with Agatha got a Coventine has a protection spell mystery.
[01:12:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Nice musical Diddy wanted it is on the town's DL and we have an ensemble mission.
[01:13:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Love how Agatha calls out each which before the door appears.
[01:13:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Coward, broad disappointment which tells us what each is seeking.
[01:13:10] [SPEAKER_02]: We already know we already knew Mrs. Davis Hart was lonely looking for connection Agatha baits the which is confession confessing her need for power.
[01:13:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Then the door appears it's almost like the song summons the door but it can only be seen and open when honesty is spoken.
[01:13:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Wow that's pretty good.
[01:13:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I really like that theory that's very cool Brad.
[01:13:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah keep them coming if you're going to be that insightful like please write in every episode.
[01:13:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe Colin.
[01:13:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah they're putting your voice that would be great.
[01:13:44] [SPEAKER_04]: So that's our show.
[01:13:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Next time we'll be episode three do we know the title yet?
[01:13:50] [SPEAKER_02]: We absolutely positively know the title.
[01:13:53] [SPEAKER_02]: The title is through many miles of tricks and trials so we are definitely getting lyrics of the song for each of the first three episodes anyways.

[01:14:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah well you're over there look and check out all the other podcastic shows one that I'm excited about that's coming back is strange indeed has been covering the great British bake off for the last few years.
[01:14:43] [SPEAKER_04]: It's kind of a hilarious fit for them because strange indeed started out as a stranger things podcast and they mostly cover dark twisted creepy shows,
[01:14:54] [SPEAKER_04]: especially they do the Mike Flannigan shows that are all really dark and really good and great cover and great.
[01:15:02] [SPEAKER_04]: And they a few years ago they used to do just like a five minute bit about great British bake off at the end of their other podcasts and then they started covering the full episodes they started a whole thing and now it's this tradition and it's like a nice palette cleanser from all the darkness and they have a really good time with it.
[01:15:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And I know the people who are doing it it's a Rima Wendy and Greg are super excited. It's like with their favorite thing.
[01:15:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not a huge great British bake off watcher because I don't know watching a cooking show when you don't get to eat the food I need afterwards it's hard for me but.
[01:15:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Well I feel like I'm about to make people like have opinions about me I have never watched a second of the great British bake off and every single human that I know is said Jim.
[01:15:51] [SPEAKER_02]: You need to watch the show it will cure your anxiety so it's out there for me to watch someday but not yet.
[01:16:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think that I would I would watch it just to listen to their podcast though that's kind of what I need to do it.
[01:16:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah yeah I was like, I want to hear the podcast so I'll watch a few episodes but every time I get frustrated by the not being able to immediately eat the food that they have prepared so.
[01:16:20] [SPEAKER_04]: This is a problem I have with all cooking shows.
[01:16:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Also from season three premiered this week and I broke down and watched the episode even though I did not have the brain space for it.
[01:16:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I just couldn't wait any longer so I watched it yesterday it was awesome and I'm really looking forward to the podcast coverage because they do such a great job.
[01:16:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And if you like what we do we'd love a rating or a review on any platform where you listen to podcasts I was looking at our reviews for the Marvel TV cast which is.
[01:16:55] [SPEAKER_04]: The stream of podcasts that podcast that does where the host change from show to show so it's not just one set of hosts but the last review was 2022 so we could use some fresh reviews on there.
[01:17:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah pop out and I mean you know the algorithm stuff like popping give us a review.
[01:17:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it just helps other listeners find us.
[01:17:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah and also if you say nice stuff it'll make me and Jim really happy.
[01:17:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah well and you know read it will read if we remember to look and we'll remember to look because I'm going to start looking.
[01:17:28] [SPEAKER_04]: So thanks for listening and until next time I'm Penny.
[01:17:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm Jim.
[01:17:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Get with it.
