[00:00:00] Hey everyone, welcome to the show. I'm Daphne. And I'm Pake. And this is the Run for Your

[00:00:41] Lives Podcast. This episode is, as you have come to know it by now, the season finale

[00:00:50] here in season seven. And we always wrap up a season with what we are now referring to

[00:00:57] officially after the past couple of seasons, the Riffle Awards.

[00:01:04] Yes, I mean, it is our look back special, but it's a look back special turned on its

[00:01:10] head reimagined into the Riffle Awards. I think it's lots of fun. I enjoy it. I just

[00:01:19] remember last time we recorded this episode, you were here. We recorded it in person.

[00:01:26] Yeah.

[00:01:26] Last October. So yeah, it's been six months. Can you believe it?

[00:01:32] Mm hmm. It's crazy. Time just keeps on going. Moving on and moving on. That works.

[00:01:41] So this past season, one of the things we did was we covered seasons one through

[00:01:47] four and gave out Riffle Awards to those seasons that were not previously covered in

[00:01:55] that way. So that was lots of fun. We had a couple of other special episodes this

[00:02:01] season, but we also covered a ton of movies. So I think we need to jump in non

[00:02:15] shark infested waters. And let's just dig in. Let's do it.

[00:02:23] All right. And so those who have been around for a while know what we're doing. And

[00:02:26] then if you're newer to run for your lives, this is your first look back special

[00:02:31] slash Riffle Awards you're hearing, then quickly to catch you up on what we're

[00:02:36] doing. They're jumping into it and I don't know what's happening. So yeah, so we

[00:02:40] look back so we have categories. It's kind of it was kind of I'm a big Oscars

[00:02:47] person, like watching the Oscars and doing stuff like that every year with

[00:02:50] that. If you know me, you know that. So kind of influenced by that a little

[00:02:55] bit. So we've decided to like take these seasons, the past 25 episodes or

[00:03:00] yeah, or so and then break those down by you know, categories that we

[00:03:06] give awards out. So we will have our best lead character or main character

[00:03:11] award, we'll have a best side character, we will have a best threat,

[00:03:15] which could be a villain, a monster, natural disaster, a situation that's in

[00:03:21] the background that is causing whatever mayhem or problems that the movie and

[00:03:25] those characters are facing runs a gamut, it could be a bunch of

[00:03:28] different things that all fit into that. And then of course, we will have

[00:03:31] the best movie overall, which is just aside from our conversations,

[00:03:35] aside from the episodes, just out of the movies we watch this season,

[00:03:39] which one is our favorite and then which episode will have a best episode

[00:03:44] award, which is in a little different because really the movie within

[00:03:48] itself isn't taken into account. It's not really what matters. But

[00:03:50] it's the episode our conversation. Sometimes like like a lot of times

[00:03:54] special guests come into consideration for that or if it was a special

[00:03:58] kind of episode or a certain conversation we had or something along

[00:04:01] those lines. So we'll go through those. So we each separate from each other

[00:04:07] came up with a top five in a way I don't have mine ordered like five

[00:04:12] through one they're completely like when I give them I'll probably just

[00:04:16] give them in the order that like chronologically that we released

[00:04:18] those episodes myself but we just five that we throw out as like our

[00:04:23] top nominations each so we'll have 10 nominations overall, five from

[00:04:27] each of us. And then out of those 10 names, movies, people, creatures,

[00:04:34] whatever, then me and Daphne get to in real time without having any

[00:04:39] previous conversation or debate about this have to decide between

[00:04:43] ourselves which one gets the win. And a lot of times if there's

[00:04:47] overlap since we do it separately, those are the ones that we're

[00:04:50] really going to consider is if we have anything that both of us

[00:04:52] have put on our top fives. So those are the ones that are

[00:04:56] definitely going to get the push above the others. But we can make

[00:04:58] arguments for stuff that the other person didn't nominate or vote

[00:05:01] for. So it's just open for debate and conversation hopefully

[00:05:04] doesn't go too long. It usually doesn't. We, we can come to

[00:05:08] agreements pretty quickly. Sometimes there have been

[00:05:10] occasions where it is a little harder. We've had to leave it

[00:05:13] up to you the listeners last season, I think.

[00:05:17] We did. It was a hard choice. I think and I'm actually I'm

[00:05:22] hoping that in this season we're able to pull it together. But

[00:05:29] we'll see.

[00:05:31] Yeah, there was a lot of fun stuff and it's always fun to

[00:05:34] just like prep I guess for this which isn't much prep.

[00:05:37] It's not like watching a movie and taking notes and doing

[00:05:39] some research and looking at stuff. Literally I can do it

[00:05:42] like within an hour. Just today just sit down and like

[00:05:46] kind of just hash it all out with myself and pick which

[00:05:49] ones but it's fun to go back and look at all the movies we

[00:05:52] covered this season and then like look through my notes and

[00:05:54] like pull out the characters that I had the most to say about

[00:05:57] and and be like, Oh yeah, that person I really did enjoy or

[00:06:00] that thing was really cool. And to come up with my list.

[00:06:03] So it's fun. And so now looking at it all together.

[00:06:06] Some of these might be difficult and other ones I'm

[00:06:08] like, Oh yeah, that was clearly like still my favorite

[00:06:10] thing.

[00:06:12] And so like other seasons we did cover tremors film. But

[00:06:17] unlike other seasons this the tremors film that we

[00:06:20] covered was the original one. We are not allowing it to be

[00:06:25] considered for any of the awards this season.

[00:06:30] Yeah, because we've it's already had its chance. Yes.

[00:06:34] Early actually in this season earlier because we did a like

[00:06:36] one through four like award style. So tremors has

[00:06:39] already been up for something this season. So yeah, do it

[00:06:44] twice.

[00:06:45] Nope. We definitely can't. So I think we should get started

[00:06:52] with side characters. All right. And I'll go first, just

[00:07:01] because I'll have you go first on the next one. So yeah,

[00:07:07] you know, we can go back and forth.

[00:07:09] Yeah, that's how it so we will alternate. So she'll give

[00:07:11] her first, I'll give my first we'll go back and forth. So

[00:07:13] she doesn't give me all five and I don't then do we'll go

[00:07:16] back and forth. So that way we eliminate some crossover by

[00:07:20] not just like having somebody throw out all their stuff

[00:07:22] right away, give people a chance to maybe depending on

[00:07:25] place again, I don't have them like listed in any

[00:07:27] specific order other than chronologically the first one

[00:07:30] I give you will be the first movie that we covered in the

[00:07:33] season in the timeline of the ones that I picked. So

[00:07:38] it's kind of how I did it too. But I'm going to jumble

[00:07:41] mine up.

[00:07:44] So my first nomination for a side character of the season is

[00:07:51] the Prince of the buddy cop movie himself. PC Danny

[00:07:57] Buttermann played by Nick Frost from hot fuzz.

[00:08:01] Right? Well, and this doesn't count as my first pick. But

[00:08:08] yeah, Danny is also in mine. So that's already a crossover

[00:08:13] right away. But I still get to give my first one that you

[00:08:16] don't say. But yeah, so yeah, Danny is is in mine. So the

[00:08:23] first one that I will mention is quite a whiz kid of his

[00:08:30] own smart young man that also without this character in

[00:08:35] the movie as much as a side character he can be the whole

[00:08:40] movie really wouldn't happen. The whole plot of the movie

[00:08:41] wouldn't happen without him. And that is Charlie Sandin

[00:08:44] from the purge.

[00:08:46] Oh my gosh, he is not on my list. But I do think that is

[00:08:51] a wonderful choice. Good job. I love me some purge movies.

[00:08:58] I may and may not have had much purge love on this

[00:09:02] list, but we'll see. My next one is from a movie that we

[00:09:09] covered one of the few movies that we had a guest on for.

[00:09:13] And that is Rod Williams from get out. Yes. I mean, you

[00:09:21] have is it he's is it any shock to you that that is on

[00:09:25] your list?

[00:09:26] Also on my list?

[00:09:27] No, not at all. I had a feeling we were gonna have

[00:09:31] We were definitely gonna have some overlap. So I'm totally,

[00:09:35] you know, I'm cool with the overlap.

[00:09:38] Yeah, because I even think when we did that episode, we

[00:09:40] were both like, Sir, Rod's gonna make it.

[00:09:42] It has to right?

[00:09:44] Like, yeah.

[00:09:45] Yeah, I think I

[00:09:47] All right.

[00:09:49] So then my next that hasn't been mentioned is everyone's

[00:09:55] favorite wild shaping druid, Doric, played by Sophia Lilis

[00:10:01] from Dungeons and Dragons, honor among thieves.

[00:10:04] Love Doric. Love Doric did not have her on my list. But I

[00:10:14] do have Holga the Barbarian from Dungeons and Dragons on

[00:10:18] my list.

[00:10:19] Nice. Nice. Yeah. Yeah, I would have considered Holga more

[00:10:23] main character than side personally, I think is kind of

[00:10:27] where she fell. But that's okay, because a lot of these

[00:10:31] like, that can be you know, the definitions can be

[00:10:34] different and talked about we've had that before. So yeah,

[00:10:38] so that fits. I will mention Well, I guess I can I can

[00:10:43] even mention now or we can save are we going to do

[00:10:45] some like, honorable mentions?

[00:10:47] Yeah, I do have one honorable mention for this one.

[00:10:51] Yeah, because I, I gave myself a list of 10 and then

[00:10:53] whittled it down and had to pick five. I was like 10 just

[00:10:56] off the top of my head. And then I had to do a little bit

[00:10:58] of math and comparing to actually get the five but so

[00:11:01] then those other ones are kind of honorable mentions. But

[00:11:04] so we'll get those in a little bit. Um, so let's see.

[00:11:08] So the last one that I have that hasn't been already

[00:11:10] named because like I said, Danny and Rod are both already

[00:11:13] on my list. So the last one I have that we haven't

[00:11:15] mentioned have had this nomination before that I

[00:11:18] think this is their second maybe third, I think second

[00:11:21] second nomination. And they are a joint effort. You have

[00:11:27] they're together. You can't separate them. They work

[00:11:30] together. They get the award together the nomination

[00:11:32] together one without the other. No. And that is of

[00:11:38] course the ghost hunting comedy duo of specs and

[00:11:42] Tucker from insidious chapter three for this season.

[00:11:47] Okay, so they're also on my list. Nice. Yes. Because

[00:11:53] they're amazing. And they always have to be

[00:11:56] considered just fantastic characters. They just

[00:12:02] throughout the whole you know, insidious franchise I

[00:12:05] feel like they're they keep things going. So I

[00:12:12] really enjoy having them in there. So I guess I

[00:12:15] only have one more. I mean, I'm the one with the

[00:12:18] last one left. Yeah. And mine is actually Abera

[00:12:24] Stone from Dr. Sleep. Yeah, that's again. Well,

[00:12:30] we'll get to it. We'll get to it. We'll talk

[00:12:33] about things a little bit. Oh my god. You

[00:12:39] consider her more of a main character? I do. I

[00:12:43] do. I really do. I consider her more of a side

[00:12:47] character just because Danny Torrance was really

[00:12:50] the main character of Dr. Sleep, at least in my

[00:12:53] eyes. See, there can be multiple mains. That's

[00:12:56] what I okay for me there are multiple main

[00:12:58] characters. Okay. In a certain in any given

[00:13:01] movie. I can't just pick one main sometimes you

[00:13:05] can but then there's more of an ensemble.

[00:13:08] There are lead characters versus the support

[00:13:11] characters. And maybe that it's partially

[00:13:14] because I am also currently reading Dr. Sleep

[00:13:18] where it is very broken up at least early on

[00:13:22] that it's very much like chapters like Dan is

[00:13:24] the main character and then it flips over is

[00:13:26] like this is Abera story. Abera is the main

[00:13:28] character and it's very but yeah, so out of

[00:13:35] what we have though because you have

[00:13:36] mentioned I've exhausted my list.

[00:13:41] It hasn't been mentioned. So based off of

[00:13:44] those, I think Danny, Spex and Tucker and Rod

[00:13:50] are the crossovers. So I don't know aside

[00:13:56] from that I still have Charlie Doric. And

[00:14:00] that's it as as like the out on the

[00:14:02] outside and then you had Abera Holga as the

[00:14:07] outside.

[00:14:07] Yeah, I know and you consider them to be

[00:14:11] main characters. So I do this is I don't

[00:14:16] know. I don't know. Have we ever given it

[00:14:22] to Tucker and Spex before? I don't feel

[00:14:24] like we have.

[00:14:25] I know they were nominated last season

[00:14:28] for the first two movies but I don't

[00:14:32] think they took the win.

[00:14:34] Maybe they should have because I mean,

[00:14:37] to be in two movies covered in a

[00:14:40] Did I write down who won? I did write down

[00:14:41] who won. Yeah, they were nominated but

[00:14:43] they did not actually take the side

[00:14:45] character win last season.

[00:14:46] And who did take the side character

[00:14:48] win?

[00:14:49] That was Shogo Koata from Battle Royale.

[00:14:52] I can't fight against that because

[00:14:54] Koata was amazing. Okay. All right. This

[00:15:02] is really difficult because all three

[00:15:06] represent something different.

[00:15:09] Yeah. Danny's great. I mean, Nick

[00:15:12] Frost, it's the perfect Simon Pegg,

[00:15:18] Nick Frost combination.

[00:15:20] Yeah, they have the best chemistry.

[00:15:23] I mean, it's not even a bromance.

[00:15:27] It's just this. I don't know. The

[00:15:31] two of them together is just magical.

[00:15:35] And then you said Spex and Tucker

[00:15:36] have been nominated before they are

[00:15:39] definitely worthy.

[00:15:41] Oh, definitely. But then you have

[00:15:44] Rod Williams.

[00:15:46] Which really while looking at it,

[00:15:48] if I'm honest with myself is where I

[00:15:50] lead them like lean the most.

[00:15:51] Me too.

[00:15:52] Because

[00:15:53] me too.

[00:15:56] I mean, L'Oreal, hilarious. Such a

[00:16:00] like hilarious actor, great actor

[00:16:02] but then like that character really

[00:16:05] does save the day.

[00:16:07] He's the only one who's really paying

[00:16:09] attention, I think. I mean, really.

[00:16:12] I mean, he's, he's

[00:16:16] Pegg, I'm okay if we give Season 7

[00:16:21] side character award to Rod Williams.

[00:16:25] Get out.

[00:16:25] Let's do it. I'm in. I'm good with

[00:16:28] that.

[00:16:30] Yeah. Okay, so we've made a decision.

[00:16:34] It was a tough one.

[00:16:35] Not too bad.

[00:16:36] It was tough, though. I mean, we had

[00:16:38] three overlapping and I don't know

[00:16:39] what the next one is going to bring

[00:16:42] for us. But before we move on, we

[00:16:45] should mentioned honorable mentions

[00:16:47] for this for this list. Mine are just

[00:16:51] I only have one. And it's Sean Gunn,

[00:16:55] Marty Espenson from Belko Experiment

[00:16:58] because he was so much fun.

[00:17:02] And one of the reasons that I really

[00:17:05] enjoyed that movie.

[00:17:06] Cool. And then I'll have five for

[00:17:10] everyone.

[00:17:12] Unless one of my honorable mentions

[00:17:16] was one of your picks, then I'll

[00:17:17] have less then but but I'll just

[00:17:20] go through them real quickly.

[00:17:21] So and these were ones like, yeah,

[00:17:22] they're not going to make that top

[00:17:23] five, but they're ones I really

[00:17:24] want to point out. Small role,

[00:17:27] but Bill Skarsgård's Keith from

[00:17:30] Barbarian.

[00:17:31] Absolutely.

[00:17:32] Oh my gosh.

[00:17:34] Sophie from Silent Night.

[00:17:37] Absolutely.

[00:17:38] Then I have Ambrosius Golden Line

[00:17:42] from Nimona.

[00:17:44] Oh my goodness.

[00:17:45] Voiced by Eugene.

[00:17:52] Then I have Baz from Sharknado.

[00:17:57] And then lastly, I am with you,

[00:17:59] Marty from Belko.

[00:18:00] You have to, right?

[00:18:01] I mean, he's just so much fun.

[00:18:04] Yeah.

[00:18:04] He is so great.

[00:18:06] Sean Gunn is a lot of fun.

[00:18:07] He is.

[00:18:08] Of course, he was in there too.

[00:18:09] Yeah.

[00:18:09] We need to find more movies that

[00:18:12] fit our genre that have Sean

[00:18:14] Gunn in them because he just

[00:18:16] brings this element that most

[00:18:20] movies need.

[00:18:21] Yeah.

[00:18:23] OK, so let's move on to main

[00:18:26] character.

[00:18:28] Main characters, and I will kick

[00:18:30] this one off.

[00:18:32] So Specs and Tucker are not

[00:18:36] going to be the only wonderful

[00:18:38] duo that include the name

[00:18:40] Tucker that will be talked

[00:18:42] about today because we got a

[00:18:45] couple of a couple of red

[00:18:46] necks that everybody absolutely

[00:18:49] loves.

[00:18:49] At least if you've seen the

[00:18:50] movie, you'll love them.

[00:18:53] If you don't love them, you

[00:18:54] better learn to because we are

[00:18:56] of course talking about Alan

[00:18:57] Tudyk and Tyler Levine as

[00:19:02] Tucker and Dale from Tucker and

[00:19:03] Dale vs. Evil.

[00:19:04] And again, could I pick one of

[00:19:06] them to take the main

[00:19:07] character slot?

[00:19:08] Absolutely.

[00:19:09] I could like each have their

[00:19:10] own merits, I think.

[00:19:11] But they are a combo deal.

[00:19:15] Yeah.

[00:19:16] If we covered more movies

[00:19:18] with duos and then we could

[00:19:19] have a duo category.

[00:19:22] Right.

[00:19:22] But I don't know that we do.

[00:19:24] So I don't know.

[00:19:26] It's something you think about

[00:19:27] for the future.

[00:19:28] Yeah, because I feel like I

[00:19:29] couldn't give a main character

[00:19:30] award to just Tucker or just

[00:19:32] Dale because they need each

[00:19:33] other.

[00:19:34] Yeah.

[00:19:34] I feel like I need to rewatch

[00:19:36] that movie again.

[00:19:37] When I was looking at the

[00:19:38] list today, everybody should

[00:19:39] always rewatch that movie as

[00:19:41] much as they possibly can at

[00:19:42] any point.

[00:19:43] It's just so fun.

[00:19:44] It's good life advice.

[00:19:46] I can't believe that it took

[00:19:47] me so long to watch it.

[00:19:48] Like I had never seen it.

[00:19:51] It's really yeah, it's

[00:19:53] definitely something.

[00:19:54] Mm hmm.

[00:19:56] So my first one is.

[00:20:00] Art from Silent Night,

[00:20:02] Roman Griffin Davis.

[00:20:05] Yes.

[00:20:05] Fantastic.

[00:20:08] Just performance and

[00:20:11] the movie it had,

[00:20:14] you know, the movie had all

[00:20:15] these different moments in it,

[00:20:17] but his portrayal of art was

[00:20:21] amazing.

[00:20:23] Yeah, that kid is incredible.

[00:20:25] Roman is so great and we had

[00:20:26] so much to say about him and

[00:20:28] tote on him that whole movie.

[00:20:29] And then you have since watched

[00:20:31] Jojo Rabbit also and seen more

[00:20:34] of just how incredible he is.

[00:20:37] I hope for more and more

[00:20:38] things.

[00:20:39] I think we talked about in

[00:20:40] that episode some stuff he

[00:20:42] may be working on.

[00:20:42] So I hope to see him again

[00:20:44] in the near future because

[00:20:46] yeah, I'm talking about him

[00:20:48] that much because he's also

[00:20:50] one of mine.

[00:20:50] Of course.

[00:20:51] I knew it.

[00:20:53] I knew I knew it.

[00:20:55] My first one or my other one,

[00:20:57] my second one, but my next one

[00:20:58] that I can give that is not

[00:21:00] mentioned yet.

[00:21:02] We did talk about him a

[00:21:03] little bit.

[00:21:05] But that is Dan Torrance

[00:21:08] from Doctor Sleep.

[00:21:10] OK, did not have him on my

[00:21:14] regular list, but he is in

[00:21:15] the honorable mentions.

[00:21:19] My next one is not really a

[00:21:24] character.

[00:21:25] It's more of a real life

[00:21:27] person.

[00:21:29] And that is Numa Drakati of

[00:21:33] Society of the Snow.

[00:21:34] Our our faithful narrator.

[00:21:41] That movie, we may talk about

[00:21:45] it later.

[00:21:47] But that I watched a lot of the

[00:21:51] things that were connected

[00:21:53] with the making of that movie

[00:21:56] and it just made me

[00:21:57] appreciate the performances

[00:21:58] even more because the actors

[00:22:02] really went the extra mile.

[00:22:06] Enzo, Vergrinchik, I mean,

[00:22:12] I don't even know what you

[00:22:13] say.

[00:22:14] I don't think there are

[00:22:15] words for what he and the

[00:22:17] other actors did in that

[00:22:19] movie.

[00:22:19] So I had to put him on my

[00:22:22] list.

[00:22:23] Had to put Numa on my list.

[00:22:26] It's weird to put a real

[00:22:27] life person and it feels,

[00:22:30] I don't know how to explain

[00:22:31] it because he's the actor was

[00:22:35] playing an actual person.

[00:22:38] And so that was, yeah, it

[00:22:40] seemed a little strange, but

[00:22:42] I just think it needs the

[00:22:44] attention.

[00:22:45] Yeah, it's a good choice.

[00:22:47] So then my next one is where

[00:22:49] things get a little

[00:22:50] interesting based off of our

[00:22:51] previous conversation.

[00:22:53] And typically, I try to keep

[00:22:55] myself to only picking one

[00:22:56] character from each movie

[00:22:58] that make my top five.

[00:22:59] But in this instance, I just

[00:23:00] couldn't.

[00:23:02] Oh boy.

[00:23:03] Okay.

[00:23:04] And so also hand in hand

[00:23:09] with her co-star, co-main

[00:23:12] from Dr. Sleep that I

[00:23:13] mentioned last, Abra Stone

[00:23:14] is also in my nominations

[00:23:16] for main character.

[00:23:18] It's like a half crossover.

[00:23:19] It's like a, it's like a

[00:23:20] half crossover point because

[00:23:23] you mentioned her, but not in

[00:23:24] this category.

[00:23:25] I feel like we need to make

[00:23:27] more defined parameters for

[00:23:29] ourselves so that, well, I

[00:23:32] don't know.

[00:23:33] I mean, I guess I would

[00:23:34] like to have better

[00:23:35] understanding of what you

[00:23:37] look at when you think of

[00:23:39] main inside characters.

[00:23:40] So, okay, my next one.

[00:23:46] Should be no surprise to you.

[00:23:49] Mike Milt, John Gallagher

[00:23:51] Jr.

[00:23:52] The Belko experiment.

[00:23:55] There shouldn't have been

[00:23:56] any surprise that I was

[00:23:57] going to pick that character.

[00:23:59] It's one of my favorite

[00:24:00] movies.

[00:24:01] I can't really tell you

[00:24:02] why it's just, it's just,

[00:24:04] yeah, I really, I dig it.

[00:24:10] All right.

[00:24:10] And then my last one for

[00:24:12] the main character is going

[00:24:15] to be Chris Pine's Edgen

[00:24:17] from Dungeons and Dragons,

[00:24:19] Honor Among Thieves.

[00:24:20] The bard who after our

[00:24:23] conversations seems to be

[00:24:25] quite the rogue-like bard.

[00:24:27] A lot of roguish features

[00:24:29] to him.

[00:24:31] But yeah, I view him as

[00:24:34] definitely like the main

[00:24:36] character of that, which is

[00:24:37] weird because with Dungeons

[00:24:38] and Dragons, it's a party.

[00:24:40] It's supposed to be an

[00:24:41] ensemble thing that

[00:24:42] everybody kind of shares

[00:24:44] a load equally, but that's

[00:24:46] in real D&D and versus a

[00:24:47] movie which you kind of

[00:24:49] have to have a lead

[00:24:50] character whose story is

[00:24:51] carrying the plot.

[00:24:52] And that's definitely him.

[00:24:54] Although I do feel like

[00:24:54] Holgo was very important

[00:24:56] in her story as well.

[00:24:58] I believe so.

[00:25:01] Michelle Rodriguez was one

[00:25:02] of the best parts of

[00:25:03] that movie.

[00:25:05] Absolutely.

[00:25:05] Her and her potatoes.

[00:25:06] Yes, always.

[00:25:10] Man, so I have a couple

[00:25:12] left, which is not usual.

[00:25:16] And so I have two left.

[00:25:20] My next one is.

[00:25:23] Brad Pitt's Jerry Lane

[00:25:24] from World War Z.

[00:25:29] And the last one.

[00:25:32] Is Nicholas Angel.

[00:25:36] Hot Fuzz, of course,

[00:25:39] played by Simon Pegg.

[00:25:41] Yes.

[00:25:43] We had one overlap.

[00:25:47] Yeah.

[00:25:47] In the character.

[00:25:52] So do we give it to art

[00:25:54] on just principle of that?

[00:25:57] So, like, again, it's not

[00:25:59] set in stone that we have to.

[00:26:01] Yeah.

[00:26:02] It's not set in stone

[00:26:04] that we have to.

[00:26:05] No, I'm just kidding.

[00:26:10] Because Abra does have a

[00:26:12] half crossover point.

[00:26:13] Yes.

[00:26:15] Yes, she does.

[00:26:16] And several of the ones

[00:26:18] that you picked were on

[00:26:19] my honorable mentions list.

[00:26:20] So same, same.

[00:26:22] So it goes the other way

[00:26:23] on that, too.

[00:26:24] So, yeah, it's.

[00:26:28] You know what?

[00:26:29] I think we give it to art.

[00:26:33] I think we give it to art

[00:26:34] because we had a lot of great.

[00:26:39] You know, we had a lot

[00:26:41] of great main characters.

[00:26:44] That we celebrated.

[00:26:46] This season and.

[00:26:49] You know, Silent Night

[00:26:50] was our Christmas special.

[00:26:51] That was way back in December

[00:26:52] that we recorded that episode.

[00:26:55] But when I went back

[00:26:56] through our episodes today

[00:26:57] to kind of put my list together.

[00:27:00] I gravitated towards that character.

[00:27:04] Yeah, again, easily like it was never.

[00:27:07] It was not a question.

[00:27:08] There were a couple that came up first.

[00:27:11] That was one Numa came up

[00:27:13] like right after.

[00:27:14] So I think we give it to art.

[00:27:17] Yeah, I'm good with that.

[00:27:18] Great character.

[00:27:19] A lot of just.

[00:27:21] Really good stuff there.

[00:27:22] And then just always

[00:27:23] give some more love to the actor,

[00:27:25] to Roman Griffin Davis.

[00:27:27] May he have a incredible

[00:27:29] and wonderful career ahead of him,

[00:27:30] if he so wishes to,

[00:27:31] because sometimes kids jump out of that.

[00:27:34] And that's great to let him be

[00:27:35] a kid in his life as well.

[00:27:37] But but if it's something he's doing,

[00:27:39] I'm watching.

[00:27:40] I'm on board.

[00:27:41] So it's a great movie, too.

[00:27:43] And his brothers, his

[00:27:44] his two brothers are in it

[00:27:46] and his mom directed it like it's.

[00:27:48] Yeah, a family project.

[00:27:51] So.

[00:27:54] Yeah, my honorable mentions

[00:27:56] were Danny Torrance from Dr.

[00:27:57] Sleep, Ed Ginn from Dungeons

[00:28:00] and Dragons and Tucker and Dale

[00:28:01] from Tucker and Dale versus Evil.

[00:28:04] Yeah.

[00:28:06] So then my other ones,

[00:28:08] let's see the ones that were crossovers

[00:28:10] would have been Nicholas

[00:28:12] Angel from Hot Fuzz

[00:28:14] and Mike from the Belko experiment.

[00:28:17] Yeah, we're crossovers.

[00:28:19] And then the other ones that I mentioned,

[00:28:21] Tess from Barbarian.

[00:28:24] Yes.

[00:28:27] Nimona.

[00:28:29] Digital character from Nimona.

[00:28:32] Her and her shape shifting ways.

[00:28:34] And then lastly, Chris Washington

[00:28:36] from Get Out.

[00:28:37] You know, I thought about that,

[00:28:39] about having Chris Washington.

[00:28:41] But then I just went back to Rod Williams

[00:28:44] and everything that he did

[00:28:46] and decided that, no, I need to keep him.

[00:28:50] And sometimes actor does play a big part of it

[00:28:53] because I'm just absolutely

[00:28:56] a huge fan of Daniel Kaluuya.

[00:28:57] So that like always helps.

[00:28:58] That does help.

[00:28:59] He's done some great things, too.

[00:29:01] I want to see more from him.

[00:29:03] Like, I feel like he's done amazing things already,

[00:29:05] but I want more.

[00:29:07] Yeah.

[00:29:09] Bring it on.

[00:29:09] Bring more.

[00:29:12] So that brings us to The Rat.

[00:29:17] So my first one since my turn,

[00:29:20] I'm going to go with is

[00:29:23] Megan from Megan.

[00:29:27] Because so freaking amazing.

[00:29:30] But yeah, you know, the dance scene alone was amazing.

[00:29:34] OK, I just I'm excited for Megan 2.0.

[00:29:39] Yeah, that'll be interesting.

[00:29:40] Of course, yeah, the dance like you talked about the hallway.

[00:29:42] That's it's OK to me.

[00:29:45] Honestly, it's the scene with she's in the forest

[00:29:48] going after that little bratty boy.

[00:29:49] That's like the best, like just like, OK, yeah, it's good.

[00:29:53] But again, we talked about it with that episode is like

[00:29:55] just what went behind that character of kind of like the animatronics

[00:30:00] versus some CGI when needed, but then also having an actual just like

[00:30:05] gymnast and ballet dancer, like somebody who's able to like

[00:30:08] handle all that like a kid under the costume.

[00:30:11] And that little girl was just phenomenal.

[00:30:14] Yeah. So again, as I said earlier,

[00:30:17] the reason I'm adding to it and saying more is because that is also going to be

[00:30:21] my first one that I had on there.

[00:30:23] Amazing. OK, good.

[00:30:25] But then my next

[00:30:30] another character.

[00:30:32] Who also terrorizes Violet McGraw.

[00:30:38] Going back to the world of Dr.

[00:30:41] Sleep, Rebecca Ferguson's Rose the Hat.

[00:30:44] Oh, my God.

[00:30:45] Again, is it because I'm also reading the book and working through that

[00:30:48] and then like getting deeper into that character?

[00:30:51] Maybe, but also not really, because even without that,

[00:30:54] regardless, Rose would definitely make my list because she is just like

[00:30:58] Rebecca Ferguson is so magnetic, but then also her role of Rose

[00:31:02] in Dr. Sleep is just so terrifying and like to where you're drawn to her.

[00:31:08] But horrified at the same time.

[00:31:09] Yes, 100 percent.

[00:31:12] I have to agree with that because it's also on my list.

[00:31:16] It's not hard for it to be. Yeah.

[00:31:21] So my next one is.

[00:31:25] The Armitage family from Get Out,

[00:31:29] because you can't have one without the other.

[00:31:35] That's why I bunched them all together, too.

[00:31:37] They're not in my top, but they were in.

[00:31:39] They were a honorable mention I have.

[00:31:41] Yeah.

[00:31:43] Yeah. At least they were in consideration.

[00:31:45] I threw them whenever thinking about stuff.

[00:31:46] I threw them in. You have to because they're just.

[00:31:50] Oh, my God.

[00:31:51] As a unit, they're even more diabolical.

[00:31:58] All right. So my next.

[00:32:01] Staying in the world, Dungeons and Dragons.

[00:32:04] And there's a few threats that we could have picked from.

[00:32:07] Some very deeply terrifying.

[00:32:11] But I decided to lean away from the scarier

[00:32:16] and go with the more conniving, clever and hilarious delivery

[00:32:21] of Hugh Grant's Forge.

[00:32:26] While not on my list,

[00:32:28] Forge did make an appearance on my honorable mention.

[00:32:32] Yeah, because it was so much fun.

[00:32:35] That movie, I did not expect to have as much fun

[00:32:40] as I did watching it.

[00:32:42] And he was a big part of it because he was ridiculous.

[00:32:46] Yes.

[00:32:48] And like you said, there were a lot of threats.

[00:32:51] What he added to the movie.

[00:32:54] Was equal parts humor, and I think

[00:32:59] it was what was needed to kind of pull it helped.

[00:33:03] It took everything.

[00:33:04] It was really an ensemble.

[00:33:06] And he was a big part of that.

[00:33:08] OK. So my next one.

[00:33:14] Is. The greater good.

[00:33:19] The greater good, the whole town of Sanford.

[00:33:24] From Hot Fuzz, because they weren't just one or two.

[00:33:29] It was a whole community of people that were conniving and crazy

[00:33:33] and murdering. Yeah.

[00:33:37] The NWA.

[00:33:42] Oh, man.

[00:33:44] So what's next for you?

[00:33:46] So for me.

[00:33:48] I'm going to dive back into one of your favorites.

[00:33:51] I already know we haven't got to movies and stuff yet,

[00:33:53] but I mean, I know you well enough.

[00:33:56] So one of your favorite movies,

[00:33:58] but with one of my all time just favorite actors and favorite humans

[00:34:02] playing a character and a human that I despise.

[00:34:06] But yet he's so good that it's fine.

[00:34:08] Wendell Dukes from the Belko experiment, John C.

[00:34:12] McGinley, just being amazingly awful and in every way.

[00:34:18] Oh, man.

[00:34:20] You know what? Whether it's stalking female employees,

[00:34:25] stabbing other coworkers

[00:34:29] or dragging one of your best friends out of an ice cooler so you can kill him.

[00:34:35] What could be more terrifying than Wendell Dukes himself?

[00:34:40] Yeah. Man.

[00:34:42] And it shouldn't surprise you.

[00:34:47] That that's on my list as well.

[00:34:53] Yeah. I mean, how do you not?

[00:34:56] So I have one more.

[00:34:58] And we're going to go.

[00:35:01] I mean, I had so much to say about this thing.

[00:35:05] In a very recent episode.

[00:35:07] And that is, of course, the shimmer bear from Annihilation.

[00:35:14] OK, you know what's funny about that is

[00:35:17] I remember during that episode, I was talking about Maurice

[00:35:21] from Dead by Daylight, Amelie listened to that episode,

[00:35:25] and she was so excited that I brought up Maurice and that he looks like the bear.

[00:35:29] Like, I had to. I had to do it.

[00:35:34] OK, so we have three that are tied.

[00:35:38] We have Megan.

[00:35:40] We have Wendell Dukes.

[00:35:43] And Rose, the hat.

[00:35:44] Yes. For me, I know exactly where I'm going.

[00:35:49] And I do. I out of those three, I have a front runner for sure.

[00:35:55] Now, whether ours match, I don't know.

[00:35:57] OK, so I'm going to count to three and you say what yours is and I'll say mine.

[00:36:03] Oh, God. And they're going to be totally different.

[00:36:05] And then we're going to have to figure this out.

[00:36:06] But if they're the same, it's going to be cool.

[00:36:07] It's going to be cool. OK, so three, two, one.

[00:36:13] Rose Rose. OK, yes.

[00:36:17] We did it.

[00:36:19] Oh, like, it's got to be Rose the hat.

[00:36:21] Oh, my God. I love the others, but it's got to be Rose.

[00:36:26] Yes.

[00:36:28] We've never done that before, where I counted down like that.

[00:36:31] So I've always wanted us to. So I had to do it.

[00:36:34] It works too. Yay.

[00:36:36] Um, my honorable mentions the director from Nimona,

[00:36:42] who was horrible.

[00:36:44] Of course, I said Forge from D&D.

[00:36:48] And my last one is basically and it's

[00:36:54] it's Chad from Tucker and Dale, but it's more the prejudice

[00:36:59] that was like a hive mind thought process of him in his group.

[00:37:06] Like judging a book by its cover and not really getting underneath

[00:37:12] to learn more about the person.

[00:37:14] And so it was very close to being on my list just because I think

[00:37:20] it's really easy to look at movies and look at, oh, well, there's a bad guy

[00:37:24] or there's a bear or there's, you know, a tornado or whatever.

[00:37:29] It's really easy to see all that.

[00:37:30] But I think the evil that was taking place in Tucker and Dale versus evil

[00:37:37] was equal parts, Chad, and equal parts.

[00:37:40] This hive mind of prejudice against Tucker and Dale.

[00:37:44] Yeah, mine, Chad, was also in there.

[00:37:48] Uh, the mother from Barbarian.

[00:37:51] Oh, my goodness.

[00:37:52] Barbarian made my like honorable on like a lot of things just because like

[00:37:56] one of those that I really enjoy is it's going to get thrown on as an afterthought.

[00:38:00] Yeah.

[00:38:01] Honestly, some of these make this list knowing that they're not going to make my top.

[00:38:06] But I was like, but I'm going to give them just a little nod.

[00:38:08] Like the the monster from Sweetheart, whatever it was, this monster thing.

[00:38:13] Yeah, it was interesting.

[00:38:15] And then lastly, I want to give some Five Nights at Freddy's love with both

[00:38:20] Steve or William Afton.

[00:38:25] That was was great there.

[00:38:27] And then the the ghost kids and the animatronics, even though.

[00:38:31] Yeah. Like, spoiler within the movie, they might not be the most evil.

[00:38:36] They were kind of, you know, controlled and things as we learned.

[00:38:39] But they're still quite a threat.

[00:38:41] They are some terrifying things definitely to deal with for sure.

[00:38:45] Well, I think we've crowned a winner.

[00:38:47] Yes. I think she'll wear it proudly.

[00:38:50] Yeah, absolutely.

[00:38:52] So now we're on to movies.

[00:38:55] We'll go just favorite movie.

[00:38:57] Now, this is going to be interesting.

[00:38:59] Yeah, because when I was putting my list together, I had to separate in my head.

[00:39:04] Which one did I love because of the movie?

[00:39:07] Which one did I love the episode?

[00:39:12] Like what was exciting or fun about the app?

[00:39:14] Was it the episode?

[00:39:16] Yeah, two very different categories.

[00:39:17] It is. And I had a little crossover, but not much.

[00:39:23] So all right.

[00:39:24] So just out of movies,

[00:39:27] out of the movies we watched this season, which one is our favorite

[00:39:30] collectively, because I mean, we definitely have our own favorites for sure.

[00:39:33] Yeah. But the first one, I'm going to mention again, I'm throwing them out

[00:39:38] chronologically as we covered them.

[00:39:40] So we got to go all the way back to the beginning,

[00:39:46] technically, not exactly because technically Bloodlines started this season.

[00:39:50] You know, it was kind of we did a real weird thing.

[00:39:52] It was a weird thing.

[00:39:54] But but Tucker and Dale versus Evil was kind of the like unofficial

[00:39:58] official kickoff.

[00:40:00] And and that's definitely one of my favorite movies of all time.

[00:40:04] So I have to include it.

[00:40:05] So you had to put it there. OK.

[00:40:08] All right. Well,

[00:40:10] I did not have it on my list.

[00:40:13] It's on the honorable mentions list.

[00:40:16] However, the first one I'm going to mention is Nimona.

[00:40:20] Yeah, it was a special movie.

[00:40:22] I had never planned to even watch it.

[00:40:24] I didn't even know about it.

[00:40:27] And now I'm so glad that I probably it probably would have been one

[00:40:30] that I completely just passed up and never knew anything about

[00:40:33] if it wasn't for it being nominated for best animated picture at the Oscars.

[00:40:36] And then so I was going to watch it from my Oscar watch anyway.

[00:40:40] And so then after watching it on my Oscars watch, I was like,

[00:40:43] I want to watch that again and cover it because it'd be a great conversation.

[00:40:47] And I can loosely make it make sense.

[00:40:48] And we're doing the little Oscar thing.

[00:40:49] So it was a little heads up for next season.

[00:40:52] We're going to take like, as you guys know, we'll probably

[00:40:55] we'll take a little a month, five weeks or so off after this episode.

[00:40:59] And then we'll come back with next season.

[00:41:01] The Oscars watch will kind of continue

[00:41:04] after that break when we get there, because Godzilla minus one is finally

[00:41:08] readily available.

[00:41:09] So we will be covering that pretty early on in next season.

[00:41:12] I'll go ahead and give that little spoiler for you to be looking forward to that.

[00:41:16] You know what else is available and not on the Oscar watch?

[00:41:20] Godzilla.

[00:41:21] Kong. The new empire.

[00:41:25] I am super excited about it,

[00:41:28] although from what I understand, it really should be called.

[00:41:33] Kong, the new empire featuring Godzilla.

[00:41:37] We'll talk all about it.

[00:41:38] We'll talk about that.

[00:41:42] All right. So my next in the top five here

[00:41:47] should be no surprise to anyone when you take just directors into account.

[00:41:52] I mean, who's who's Pakes favorite director?

[00:41:55] Here's some run for your lives trivia.

[00:41:57] So we can't cover an Edgar Wright movie

[00:42:02] and it not be on my list.

[00:42:03] Obviously, Hot Fuzz is right here.

[00:42:05] And it's on and obviously it's also on my list.

[00:42:11] Yeah, I've given it a bit of love the whole episode so far.

[00:42:15] So why should I stop now?

[00:42:18] So my next one is Society of the Snow.

[00:42:24] As terrifying as it was and how graphic it was,

[00:42:27] I just think it's a masterpiece.

[00:42:30] And it unfortunately was up against some really stiff competition

[00:42:34] in the Oscar season.

[00:42:35] Yeah, so yeah, it was it was up against a lot of great movies in that category.

[00:42:40] Let's see. So my next let's talk about.

[00:42:43] Top favorite directors.

[00:42:47] And then so, you know, Edgar Wright might be my number one slot,

[00:42:50] but if I'm giving a top five on directors,

[00:42:51] you know somebody else is also going to be in that.

[00:42:53] I think I know honestly, even though Stephen King is still alive

[00:42:58] and kicking and doing great things,

[00:43:00] I think I have to hand off the mantle of like King of Horror,

[00:43:04] at least in like a modern, right?

[00:43:07] Yeah, like the modern king, the very like today's standard,

[00:43:10] the most modern King of Horror.

[00:43:11] It's Mike Flanagan doing a Stephen King adaptation,

[00:43:14] which I've gotten on the record many times telling people

[00:43:17] to this day is my favorite Stephen King adaptation movie.

[00:43:21] And it's Doctor Sleep.

[00:43:24] Yes. Well, Pegue, Doctor Sleep is also on my list.

[00:43:29] Nice. So there's that.

[00:43:35] So the final movie on my list,

[00:43:38] since I have all these movies that overlap with yours,

[00:43:44] is and this shouldn't be that much of a surprise.

[00:43:50] Get out.

[00:43:52] Because I think as much as it's

[00:43:56] it's Mike Flanagan, who is the heir apparent to the universe of Stephen King.

[00:44:02] I think Jordan Peele is making a case for himself with his movies.

[00:44:06] Absolutely. Yeah.

[00:44:07] So that rounds out my five.

[00:44:10] All right. I still have two more.

[00:44:12] I know this is crazy, right?

[00:44:15] So we go through those. One.

[00:44:18] It's just a movie that I love so much fun.

[00:44:21] It's like it's going to be mentioned everywhere.

[00:44:24] Mentioned it in every category so far.

[00:44:27] Dungeons and Dragons, Honor Among Thieves.

[00:44:29] I love it so much.

[00:44:30] I mean, I remember going and seeing it in theaters when it opened

[00:44:33] with my D&D group, my party, the campaign there and like

[00:44:39] going and seeing it together and maybe like all of us being like a little weary

[00:44:42] because we're like a little leery of it because it's like,

[00:44:45] is it going to be good?

[00:44:46] Because the last one forever ago really sucked.

[00:44:49] And can we can we make a Dungeons and Dragons movie make like work?

[00:44:53] And I've seen it several times and I just love it every time I watch it.

[00:44:57] And. I mean, you can listen to that in that episode,

[00:45:01] me just like nerding out over just so many of the things that I love

[00:45:05] about that movie and what was included in all the little Easter eggs and nods.

[00:45:10] Yeah, it's honestly about as perfect as I think a D&D

[00:45:14] movie could be made today, like, oh, it's great.

[00:45:18] Had to include it.

[00:45:19] And then lastly, one that obviously even

[00:45:23] even if you hadn't already read all your names,

[00:45:27] I had no expectation of it being a crossover,

[00:45:30] but I had to include it for myself.

[00:45:33] Because that is Annihilation, Alex Garland's sci fi horror,

[00:45:37] just visual what the fuck fest.

[00:45:40] And again, you know, I love Annihilation so much.

[00:45:43] We got to talk about it recently, but on this Alex Garland kick.

[00:45:46] And so, yeah, it's going to make my top five for sure.

[00:45:48] Of course it is. And you knew it was not going to make mine.

[00:45:51] Nah, but that's OK.

[00:45:53] But it's OK because I do love Alex Garland and he's done some other movies

[00:45:57] that I really enjoy.

[00:45:58] This just wasn't one of them.

[00:46:00] Mm hmm. So with that, I think really the only two crossovers

[00:46:04] were Hot Fuzz and Dr. Sleep.

[00:46:05] Yes. We're going to fight to the death.

[00:46:08] It's. It's tough for me because it is like.

[00:46:14] It's Mike Flanagan.

[00:46:16] It's Mike Flanagan versus Edgar Wright.

[00:46:17] It's tough.

[00:46:21] This is a serious problem for you.

[00:46:22] I know that you're having a problem.

[00:46:26] I know that this is something that is not easy for you.

[00:46:30] Yeah, I think although this is

[00:46:35] I'll put it this way because if you take, yeah, those are like my like

[00:46:37] like two favorite directors.

[00:46:40] But I'm going to say what is Mike Flanagan's best movie?

[00:46:44] Dr. Sleep.

[00:46:46] Is Hot Fuzz Edgar Wright's best movie?

[00:46:49] Sometimes. In my opinion, no.

[00:46:52] It's great. It's great.

[00:46:53] Don't get me wrong.

[00:46:54] But like there are other Edgar Wright movies that I think are better

[00:46:57] and even better than some we have, you know, covered.

[00:47:00] Some that don't fit our genre. Right.

[00:47:04] There's one in particular I really, really love

[00:47:07] that doesn't fit our genre at all. Mm hmm. Yeah.

[00:47:11] So if that can be something to contend,

[00:47:14] I think I lean towards giving my vote to Dr. Sleep.

[00:47:19] OK, all right.

[00:47:24] That's interesting that you would say that.

[00:47:29] Because I, if I'm being honest.

[00:47:33] I'm leaning more towards Hot Fuzz.

[00:47:37] Because overall, the ensemble cast that came together for that,

[00:47:42] not to begrudge Dr.

[00:47:44] Sleep or the cast that came together for that one,

[00:47:48] but the ensemble cast that came together for Hot Fuzz

[00:47:53] were a who's who of British acting.

[00:47:58] Yeah. And it's tough because I could I could go back and forth

[00:48:01] depending on like

[00:48:04] what parameters I want to look at things through.

[00:48:06] Like I said, best movies overall and like as far as just like

[00:48:10] most impactful or I think just like most well done for like a certain story.

[00:48:16] Like, man, Dr. Sleep is incredible.

[00:48:17] But also watchability.

[00:48:19] Which one am I going to like on a dime just be like?

[00:48:22] I have to put on one of these movies right now and just watch it.

[00:48:26] I love Dr. Sleep, but it's a hard watch sometimes.

[00:48:29] It really is.

[00:48:29] It's not one that I can watch super often because it is brutal.

[00:48:34] It is. Hot Fuzz is going to be an incredibly fun time

[00:48:37] every time. Every time.

[00:48:41] So it's very difficult because I also really felt Dr.

[00:48:45] Sleep was an incredible adaptation.

[00:48:50] Way that they that he pulled things into that movie

[00:48:56] and took you right back to the way you feel about.

[00:49:01] You know, Jack Torrance and the story.

[00:49:05] And again, me reading the book right now, I'm almost done with it.

[00:49:09] I've done a pretty good job.

[00:49:10] And. Having watched the movie several times before

[00:49:14] and now reading the book, realizing Mike Flanagan is

[00:49:20] doing things very different than the way that Kubrick did The Shining.

[00:49:25] As far as it is an incredibly faithful adaptation,

[00:49:28] I'm reading dialogue in the book and going, holy shit,

[00:49:30] this conversation is word for word.

[00:49:32] Like, yeah, it was.

[00:49:34] And a lot of people who read books when they go to the movie,

[00:49:38] they don't want directors to take huge liberties.

[00:49:41] They want to see a faithful adaptation.

[00:49:44] Now, in some cases, you get books like the Harry Potter series

[00:49:48] where you can't show every single character

[00:49:52] because it's just too dense to be able to be brought to the screen that way.

[00:49:57] So you have to you have to take liberties

[00:50:00] and cut things to be able to tell the story.

[00:50:03] Mm hmm. So it's always nice when a when a director is faithful

[00:50:09] to the source material and Kubrick did completely.

[00:50:14] I mean, he scared Stephen King with The Shining that he created.

[00:50:18] Oh, yeah. I swear.

[00:50:18] I've seen The Shining several times before.

[00:50:21] And then reading The Shining afterwards.

[00:50:24] And it was a very different experience of me going like this wasn't there.

[00:50:28] Oh, this was changed a lot that this wasn't a thing.

[00:50:30] Like, there's a lot of important things in the book

[00:50:33] that were taken out completely or changed in a very major way.

[00:50:37] Yeah, for shock value. Yeah.

[00:50:39] Really? The miniseries that came out

[00:50:42] for The Shining was much more faithful adaptation.

[00:50:46] Yeah. The miniseries that came out was a much more

[00:50:49] faithful adaptation to the original source material, The Shining.

[00:50:54] Yeah. But we've we've we've talked around it.

[00:50:58] We got on tangents because we can't because making a decision

[00:51:01] about this is very difficult.

[00:51:03] It is, you know, like I feel like I've talked myself into both.

[00:51:08] And then I'm like, well, no, this is it makes sense why you should do this one.

[00:51:11] But then there's also this.

[00:51:12] So, no, actually, it makes sense. We should do that.

[00:51:13] So no, but because of. Yeah, it's very hard.

[00:51:17] Isn't this where we got stuck last season, too, was with the movie.

[00:51:20] Mm hmm. And what did we end up with?

[00:51:23] Well, it was between 28 days later and

[00:51:28] Sean of the Dead, I believe.

[00:51:31] Just find they're a lot more closely compared.

[00:51:34] Ah, and I think we just ended up letting

[00:51:37] yeah, the audience, the listeners,

[00:51:41] they picked for us on that.

[00:51:43] I don't know what did they pick?

[00:51:45] Do you remember what they picked?

[00:51:47] I'm going back again because I opened those notes.

[00:51:52] Recently to check, I'm going to go back and look at it again.

[00:51:55] Um, look back.

[00:51:58] Let's see character.

[00:52:03] Oh, we had three.

[00:52:05] That's right. It was Sean of the Dead, Insidious or 28 Days Later.

[00:52:08] And I don't have it marked which one actually won because we announced that.

[00:52:14] When did we even announce the winner?

[00:52:15] It was like, I think it was on the Bloodlines episode

[00:52:18] because it was technically the next episode, like next season.

[00:52:23] But we like released it like the next week because it was Halloween.

[00:52:26] I don't know what won.

[00:52:28] But I don't remember which one actually won.

[00:52:32] For some reason, I want to think it was Sean of the Dead.

[00:52:37] Makes sense.

[00:52:40] Well, I can tell you this.

[00:52:42] I do not want to have to take this to our listeners.

[00:52:46] No, as much as we love having their input and value that,

[00:52:51] we can't just like lean on that as a crush every time.

[00:52:53] We have to be grownups and we need to make grownup decisions.

[00:52:58] Mm hmm.

[00:52:59] And I'm going to go with you on this one for Doctor Sleep.

[00:53:08] I'll take it. I'm not going to overthink it.

[00:53:11] You do know what that means.

[00:53:14] That I pick better movies.

[00:53:16] No, we have one category left

[00:53:20] and I may have something I want to push for.

[00:53:23] So yeah, I mean, Hot Fuzz is the closest

[00:53:28] of close to the second place can possibly be.

[00:53:30] It really I don't know.

[00:53:33] I think last time it was really close between those three.

[00:53:38] And they all at least were remotely like

[00:53:40] similar, not the same, but similar enough.

[00:53:44] Mm hmm. Yeah.

[00:53:46] But no, I'm perfectly happy to give Doctor Sleep the award.

[00:53:51] Because, yeah, that was at the beginning of the season.

[00:53:54] We're covering Doctor Sleep this season, be like, and it should win the end,

[00:53:58] regardless of whatever else we're doing.

[00:53:59] So it's good.

[00:54:01] But there's a lot of great movies, always great.

[00:54:04] Paik, I had a couple of honorable mentions.

[00:54:08] Belko Experiment for sure.

[00:54:10] Tuckery and Dale versus Evil.

[00:54:13] Barbarian. And World War Z.

[00:54:18] Nice. I think I might be a lot on the same place, because let's see.

[00:54:23] I'm hard to go like which ones were actually in my five.

[00:54:25] Yeah. So Barbarian was also honorable mention for me.

[00:54:30] As was Nimona was an honorable mention, was one of your picks.

[00:54:34] Get Out was one of your picks.

[00:54:35] It was also honorable mention for me.

[00:54:38] World War Z.

[00:54:40] Was one and then as kind of like a low

[00:54:44] lowly mention, just a nod to was just something I don't know again

[00:54:47] that I would have watched, but then because of the podcast

[00:54:50] and it was I ended up having enough fun with it was Five Nights at Friday's.

[00:54:54] Yeah, we had so much fun with Jack.

[00:54:58] Like and I guess that's more of an episode thing, but we did.

[00:55:02] It was cool to do something different.

[00:55:04] You came up with that concept and it took us a while to get it worked out.

[00:55:08] But then we did get it worked out and it was a lot of fun.

[00:55:11] Yeah. So that leads us to the final.

[00:55:16] Category of the night.

[00:55:18] Best episode.

[00:55:19] And again, what separates that is it's not necessarily like that conversation

[00:55:24] where we're just looking at the movie as a whole.

[00:55:27] The story is told, the casting, the adaptation.

[00:55:30] If so, that's what it is.

[00:55:31] The directing, all of those things that go into enjoying a movie.

[00:55:35] This is about after watching the movie and then nothing to do with that itself.

[00:55:39] But then the episode of Run For Your Lives, the conversation it led to,

[00:55:43] the jokes it led to the interactions we had with guests.

[00:55:48] Or sometimes it doesn't even have to be a movie.

[00:55:50] There are episodes that we did that are not talking about movies.

[00:55:54] We did the the one through four awards.

[00:55:57] We did another look forward where we talked about other movies

[00:56:00] that we would like to cover.

[00:56:01] We had an episode where we just talked

[00:56:03] about random things that had nothing to do with movies.

[00:56:06] So there's a lot of other episodes are there and all of those.

[00:56:08] We had a Tremors rewatch that technically could be part of the episode

[00:56:12] because we're not talking about the movie.

[00:56:13] So there's a lot of other episodes

[00:56:16] that don't fit in any other like movie category that could also be in here.

[00:56:21] Yeah, that's true.

[00:56:24] They might be a little bit different.

[00:56:27] So my first pick is Nimona, and

[00:56:33] it's because the conversation that we had

[00:56:36] was about the movie, but it went so much deeper

[00:56:39] and we talked about things that I think are important today.

[00:56:43] Yeah. Talking about accepting other people that are different from you.

[00:56:49] And being more open minded to

[00:56:53] having those conversations with people who may not.

[00:56:58] Look like you or act like you or talk like you or whatever,

[00:57:02] like just, you know, or have different beliefs.

[00:57:07] It's just, you know, keeping your mind and your heart open to.

[00:57:13] Oh, you know, having those conversations.

[00:57:15] And so it's that was a very important movie for me this season.

[00:57:20] Also, because.

[00:57:23] I had never heard of it and didn't really.

[00:57:26] Plan on watching it.

[00:57:29] So.

[00:57:32] It just ended up being or meaning more to me,

[00:57:36] kind of like Mitchell's versus the machines where we had these great

[00:57:40] conversations, and I remember thinking as we were going through,

[00:57:44] you know, seasons after that film, I wish we could come up

[00:57:48] with another one like that that would invoke or start

[00:57:53] that conversation so that we could go down on the tangents again

[00:57:57] about different things.

[00:57:59] Yeah, we'll definitely need to get another.

[00:58:01] It was always good to throw in a good animated movie

[00:58:04] that ends up being a lot deeper than you would expect.

[00:58:06] Again, I haven't seen it, but I talked about that look ahead.

[00:58:10] There's one I mentioned in there that we might have to do next season.

[00:58:14] I'm curious to watch it and see.

[00:58:16] Jordan Peele is behind it, so.

[00:58:18] So you know what that means?

[00:58:20] We're on board.

[00:58:21] Yeah, we see.

[00:58:23] Yeah, a lot of the producing and stuff there anyway.

[00:58:28] So my first episode and some of these are literally just

[00:58:32] because it gave me an opportunity to laugh and joke and.

[00:58:39] Just like have a good time.

[00:58:41] So the movie aspect does bleed in a little bit,

[00:58:44] because it was such a great movie and it's such a fun movie

[00:58:48] that it leads to me having a blast getting to talk about it

[00:58:51] and rehashing it.

[00:58:51] So that's why Tucker and Dale versus evil is also

[00:58:55] going to be included in my list.

[00:58:59] It was on every bit of your list like it was it.

[00:59:03] Yeah, it was almost almost every category.

[00:59:07] Yeah, almost not every but almost a lot of them.

[00:59:12] Yeah, I think it definitely stood out.

[00:59:14] It kind of stood out enough that.

[00:59:18] I had it on my list as well.

[00:59:20] Nice, because I had a lot of fun with it.

[00:59:23] It's not one that I had.

[00:59:27] I don't know.

[00:59:27] I don't know why it took me so long to watch it.

[00:59:31] But after I did our conversation, we were laughing so hard

[00:59:35] about this movie and all the different things that were in it.

[00:59:38] But then we also talked about the serious things, too.

[00:59:42] You know, the prejudice and, you know, just because someone looks different

[00:59:47] or acts different doesn't mean that there that you can't get to know them

[00:59:50] or talk to them.

[00:59:51] So I had to include it as well.

[00:59:55] Nice.

[00:59:56] So my next one.

[00:59:59] Might be a surprise to you.

[01:00:02] Dungeons and Dragons on or among thieves.

[01:00:05] Now, that's my next as well.

[01:00:07] So that is also included.

[01:00:09] The reason is just because.

[01:00:14] Listening to you talk about going to D&D for the last couple of years.

[01:00:18] And then this movie comes out and it's like, maybe this will answer

[01:00:22] all the questions I have about D&D because you love it.

[01:00:26] And I'm just curious because even though there were series

[01:00:30] and movies that have been out before, I've not really watched any of them,

[01:00:34] mostly because I've heard they're terrible.

[01:00:36] So I don't waste my time.

[01:00:39] It was amazing to get to watch you nerd out

[01:00:43] about all the stuff going on in that movie.

[01:00:47] Yeah, and it made my list on the flip side of that coin

[01:00:50] because I had the opportunity to nerd out a bunch of stuff.

[01:00:54] And that was fun.

[01:00:55] It was so much fun.

[01:00:57] And I learned stuff like I definitely learned some things

[01:01:00] while watching it and talking about it that just make me

[01:01:06] you know, curious, even more curious.

[01:01:09] So I hope they do another film.

[01:01:11] I think they should. Absolutely.

[01:01:12] Because I know I'll have more questions.

[01:01:16] All right. So then my next one.

[01:01:20] Is get out.

[01:01:24] Including that had a just a wonderful conversation again, got a little deep,

[01:01:29] which is not always bad.

[01:01:30] I sometimes great.

[01:01:32] And then having a guest on there, having Rinaldi on for the first time,

[01:01:35] hopefully we'll get to have him back, maybe give him something a little lighter

[01:01:39] that we can just joke and laugh about a little more

[01:01:41] and not have to get super real all the time.

[01:01:43] But I think we had an incredible conversation with him.

[01:01:46] He's so much fun to hang out with and talk with.

[01:01:48] And so it was great to have the opportunity to have him on

[01:01:52] and just really like, yeah, like kind of pick his brain on things

[01:01:55] and get to like it was a learning experience, I think, for for everyone,

[01:02:00] for all of us. So that was definitely really cool.

[01:02:03] So, yeah, that one just meant a lot to be able to do.

[01:02:06] And I'm glad that he was he was more than willing to come on

[01:02:09] and talk and hang with us on that.

[01:02:11] Yeah, I think I have another movie on the list that he indicated interest in

[01:02:17] that isn't quite as heavy as that one.

[01:02:19] Yeah, because that one, I mean, that was that was that was a deep movie.

[01:02:25] On its own, but the conversations that we had about it.

[01:02:30] Were compelling, and it was beyond just talking about a movie.

[01:02:35] We we really talked about society

[01:02:39] and so much more in that.

[01:02:43] In that episode, and we really didn't have a lot of guests on last season.

[01:02:47] We only had Jack and Rinaldi for the whole season.

[01:02:53] Was it? Yeah. Yeah.

[01:02:55] And it's also on my list for all the reasons we just talked about.

[01:03:03] It's just going to be rough, Peg.

[01:03:05] It's going to be rough.

[01:03:06] We're going to have a real tough decision coming up.

[01:03:10] OK, so it's my turn.

[01:03:13] And this is my last one because I've said them all.

[01:03:17] This one also incredibly dark,

[01:03:22] but with moments of humor.

[01:03:25] Silent night.

[01:03:27] Mm hmm. Yeah, it was a really interesting movie

[01:03:30] that was not really what we expected to be jumping into it.

[01:03:33] I know a lot of people with and oh, it's a dark comedy.

[01:03:36] And it's like, oh no, it's a dark comedy.

[01:03:39] Yeah, very subtle on the comedy part, guys.

[01:03:43] But yeah, but it was the conversation.

[01:03:46] Yeah, it I know the movie was dark.

[01:03:49] I know it was difficult.

[01:03:51] But the conversation that we had just meant

[01:03:55] something to me, like I just really I think this season

[01:03:58] we didn't shy away from tough conversations.

[01:04:01] Yeah, we had a bunch.

[01:04:03] Yeah, we had a bunch of movies that were deep.

[01:04:07] There were issues under the surface that we dug into.

[01:04:11] And that's one of the things I love about this podcast

[01:04:15] is that we don't shy away from those things.

[01:04:17] We will talk about whatever.

[01:04:19] So all right, so again, I am left with two more after you're done.

[01:04:24] So we'll go through those first one is one of those episodes

[01:04:28] that has nothing to do with the movie at all.

[01:04:32] So it wasn't even looking back at movies, looking forward at movies.

[01:04:35] It was the episode title, just a chat with us that I just had.

[01:04:39] Oh my gosh, I almost picked that it's in my honorable mentions.

[01:04:42] Yeah, because I had a blast with again, most all of the podcasts

[01:04:47] I listen to on my own time are all just shooting the shit,

[01:04:51] random conversation, just conversation podcast.

[01:04:55] So that's like my wheelhouse as far as what I really enjoy listening to.

[01:04:59] So to get the opportunity to do that and just go in with really no plan

[01:05:03] and just have a conversation and talk about stuff.

[01:05:06] And it seems that a lot of the listeners enjoyed that.

[01:05:10] And we should have had a lot of follow up questions

[01:05:13] and comments and things on that.

[01:05:15] And that's that's awesome.

[01:05:16] So I think we might do that again.

[01:05:20] But I had a blast with it just to kind of shake things up

[01:05:22] and do something really different.

[01:05:23] It was it was a nice breath of fresh air for a movie podcast

[01:05:27] to just do something completely unmovie related.

[01:05:30] So, I mean, we're not going to do it very often, but, you know,

[01:05:33] they might sprinkle it in here or there.

[01:05:36] It's nice. I mean, there was no prep.

[01:05:39] I didn't even have any talking points.

[01:05:41] It was just really, which is always nice, because sometimes

[01:05:44] as much as I love doing this podcast, there are days where it's like.

[01:05:49] I'm excited to talk about it and do it,

[01:05:51] but it's like prep is going to take me like five, six hours sometimes.

[01:05:55] And it's like there's an entire day and I enjoy doing it.

[01:05:59] I love it. But it is nice every now and then to be like,

[01:06:02] like even like for this one right here, this prep took me so great.

[01:06:06] Forty five minutes.

[01:06:07] Yeah, that was it.

[01:06:08] To where it's like, I don't spend my entire day.

[01:06:11] I can watch other things. I can do this. I could do that.

[01:06:13] So it's sometimes nice to just like, no prep. Let's just have fun.

[01:06:17] Yeah, I love that episode, too, for the same reason,

[01:06:21] because people really just got to listen in on a conversation

[01:06:25] we would have before or after recording.

[01:06:28] Yeah. And that was it was interesting for me to to do that,

[01:06:35] because we just have never we talk all the time, but we

[01:06:40] it's not recorded for people to listen to.

[01:06:42] So yeah, it was something different.

[01:06:44] And yeah, people really did seem to enjoy that episode.

[01:06:49] Yeah, it was a lot of fun.

[01:06:51] And then lastly, of course, as you mentioned,

[01:06:53] I guess we only had two guests this entire season.

[01:06:57] So I'm mentioning the other one you talked about a little bit

[01:07:00] on those like last

[01:07:03] honorable mentions.

[01:07:04] But yeah, Five Nights at Freddy's and just again, doing something different

[01:07:08] and having Jack on and getting a child's perspective, a literal child,

[01:07:13] a kid on our podcast to talk about something that we knew nothing about.

[01:07:18] And he did.

[01:07:20] And so he was for the time we had him on to be able to just kind of

[01:07:25] have some questions answered and get that perspective

[01:07:28] that we've never had on this podcast before is really cool.

[01:07:31] Yeah. And by the time the next one comes out,

[01:07:35] he'll be a little bit older.

[01:07:37] So maybe he'll be willing to come back and talk.

[01:07:41] Maybe we didn't scare him away forever.

[01:07:43] No, I don't think we did.

[01:07:46] He had fun, but I don't think we scared him away either.

[01:07:50] So he might come back.

[01:07:51] There's so many sequels in the works for movies that we've covered that

[01:07:55] I can't keep them all straight in my head, really. Right.

[01:07:58] It's like, oh, I forgot that was being made.

[01:08:01] Yeah. So this leaves us with three that overlap.

[01:08:06] There were three. Yeah.

[01:08:09] Tucker and Dale.

[01:08:11] Did you have Tucker and Dale?

[01:08:13] I did. Yes, you did.

[01:08:14] Did did you not have Dungeons and Dragons?

[01:08:17] I did. I did. OK.

[01:08:18] So yeah, get out.

[01:08:19] So yeah, so yeah, this Tucker and Dale Dungeons and Dragons get out.

[01:08:24] They couldn't be more different.

[01:08:25] Yeah, they really.

[01:08:28] Yeah. Oh, man.

[01:08:33] Oh, boy, this is really tough.

[01:08:36] It is a tough one.

[01:08:38] And no, we're not going to send this to our audience.

[01:08:46] We're going to do this again.

[01:08:48] I have without thinking too deeply and trying

[01:08:51] and not doing what I did last time with the movies of like, oh, but this.

[01:08:54] But then what about that?

[01:08:55] If I'm just like, nope, right now, quick answer.

[01:08:57] Got to go.

[01:08:58] Then there's something that does jump to the front for me.

[01:09:02] Well, think what I'm looking at with this is what was the most fun?

[01:09:10] Which episode did I enjoy recording the most?

[01:09:15] And it's hard because two of the movies are definitely lighter.

[01:09:18] Yeah. The third.

[01:09:21] I had a ton of fun when we covered

[01:09:24] Dungeons and Dragons and Tucker and Dale versus Evil.

[01:09:27] Those were so much fun.

[01:09:29] I also had fun recording with Rinaldi, even if the subject matter was harder

[01:09:33] like or more difficult.

[01:09:37] Um, where are you leaning?

[01:09:39] Honestly, just again, kind of looking at that, like which one was overall

[01:09:44] the most fun conversation that I just felt the most just like,

[01:09:48] yeah, after exactly where and it's it's Dungeons and Dragons.

[01:09:52] Of course it is. Of course it is.

[01:09:54] Of course, because you had the most fun.

[01:10:00] I feel like this is like that NFL draft and

[01:10:05] making decisions that come around,

[01:10:09] create these situations where it's here's a trade

[01:10:14] and there's a player to be named later.

[01:10:17] I did have fun during Dungeons and Dragons.

[01:10:20] I did.

[01:10:22] Watching you nerd out was just.

[01:10:26] I saw a side of you I had never really seen

[01:10:31] because you were just completely nerded out on it.

[01:10:35] Um, I can't overlook Get Out

[01:10:43] because it was a great conversation.

[01:10:46] And Tucker and Dale versus Evil.

[01:10:48] I had never seen that movie and it

[01:10:51] exceeded my expectations in every way.

[01:10:54] It's one that goes on the list of, oh, I could have that on

[01:10:58] in the background anytime because it's just one of those movies

[01:11:02] that you can do that with.

[01:11:05] I feel like we went with something really heavy for the movie.

[01:11:11] I kind of want to go.

[01:11:15] Maybe a little lighter for the episode, but again,

[01:11:17] it's about which one did I have the most fun and

[01:11:21] I had a blast in all three of them for different reasons, but I'm.

[01:11:28] Against my better judgment.

[01:11:31] Is it though?

[01:11:34] I think I had the most fun doing Dungeons and Dragons.

[01:11:38] Well, bam.

[01:11:40] But I can't disagree.

[01:11:42] Like I had so much fun with that one.

[01:11:44] That was the first movie that I put on my list before I even looked at

[01:11:49] the rest.

[01:11:52] So that says something.

[01:11:53] It does.

[01:11:54] It does. And I got to see insight into your.

[01:11:59] Obsession with D&D, so it was a lot of fun.

[01:12:03] Yeah, that was awesome.

[01:12:06] All right, perfect.

[01:12:07] Well, before we close this thing down and end another season

[01:12:12] officially and go on a little break,

[01:12:15] going to just recap back over those for those who are interested again,

[01:12:19] kind of again, adding what's being added to the wall.

[01:12:22] We still need to have I think you did it for like the first season or something.

[01:12:25] You have like one that you have a little graphic.

[01:12:28] I don't want to give you extra busy work, but I don't know.

[01:12:32] I have this really big special project I've been working on.

[01:12:35] It's taking a lot of time, but but I'll see if I can squeeze it in.

[01:12:40] But this like metaphorical imaginary wall of trophies and awards

[01:12:43] that might be real at some point, but also just can live in our heads.

[01:12:47] We can add some more names, some more movies, some more stuff to that wall of awards

[01:12:54] and being inducted into the riffles this season.

[01:13:00] Best main character of season seven.

[01:13:04] Art from Silent Night, best side character from season seven.

[01:13:09] Rod Williams from Get Out.

[01:13:12] The best threat from season seven.

[01:13:15] Rose the Hat from Doctor Sleep.

[01:13:20] The best movie from season seven, Doctor Sleep

[01:13:24] and the best episode of season seven, Dungeons and Dragons, Honor Among Thieves.

[01:13:31] And Paik is giddy right now because

[01:13:34] he loves all of the picks and it just worked out that I could support all of it.

[01:13:40] Yeah. And then again, we forgot, but that's OK.

[01:13:42] We don't have to edit around too much craziness.

[01:13:44] We'll just jump back into it real quick.

[01:13:46] Honorable mentions for best episodes,

[01:13:48] because we're going to we've done the honorable mentions for everything else.

[01:13:51] Might as well throw those in as well.

[01:13:53] I'll start off with these ones.

[01:13:56] Barbarian again got thrown in as an honorable mention.

[01:14:00] There was some fun stuff to talk about there.

[01:14:01] Silent Night, which was on your list, was one of my honorable mentions.

[01:14:05] Actually doing the run for your lives, these the awards,

[01:14:08] the riffle awards for the seasons one through four was on my honorable mentions

[01:14:12] because these episodes are always fun for me.

[01:14:16] Society of the Snow.

[01:14:18] Was an honorable for me as well.

[01:14:23] Yeah, mine were barbarian.

[01:14:25] It's so funny that we didn't really put barbarian too much.

[01:14:29] It didn't ever it didn't get any official nominations, I don't think.

[01:14:32] But no, but we liked it everywhere. Yeah.

[01:14:35] Belko experiment, because I love that I got to talk about that movie with you

[01:14:39] because it gave me a chance to nerd out because I know way too much about that

[01:14:43] movie, way more than I ever should.

[01:14:47] Society of the Snow, because it was just great.

[01:14:51] Having been, you know,

[01:14:55] knowing a lot about the background of that story,

[01:14:57] it was great to be able to see something that was realistic

[01:15:01] and more true to the story itself and get to talk about it.

[01:15:06] And I had the chat with us because I had so much fun with it.

[01:15:10] It was great to be able to give our listeners an opportunity

[01:15:14] to listen in on some of the, you know, some of what we talk about.

[01:15:17] Yeah. And that was just a small piece of what we talked about,

[01:15:20] because there's lots of different things.

[01:15:25] I think we've added some great characters, threats,

[01:15:27] movies and episodes to the riffle awards this season.

[01:15:31] Yeah, I'm really excited to.

[01:15:35] Be starting season eight.

[01:15:37] Yeah, just can't believe it a little bit.

[01:15:40] We will start soon.

[01:15:42] Oh, we didn't even get to finish.

[01:15:45] Looks like feedback phones going on.

[01:15:47] Maybe we can see what was from the listeners had to say

[01:15:51] about their favorite episodes, movies, characters, whatever this season.

[01:15:57] All right. Just a little bit of feedback this week.

[01:16:01] On our look back riffle awards special, we had.

[01:16:05] Let's see anybody want to take a wild guess at who we got

[01:16:09] giving us our feedback, who's coming?

[01:16:10] Only the best.

[01:16:13] Thank you so much. Thank you.

[01:16:15] Yeah, absolutely love it.

[01:16:17] You're coming through for us.

[01:16:19] And she really put through.

[01:16:21] I love this a lot.

[01:16:23] Kind of her own riffle awards, the Catherine Awards going on right now.

[01:16:26] And I love it.

[01:16:27] I feel like she's she's going to need to do this every time.

[01:16:30] Yeah. See what you've done to yourself.

[01:16:32] You've set an expectation.

[01:16:34] You set the bar high.

[01:16:36] Yeah, she definitely really came through

[01:16:39] with a great like kind of rundown of all of her

[01:16:42] favorites as well.

[01:16:44] So I love that.

[01:16:45] She says favorite episode.

[01:16:46] I couldn't choose one.

[01:16:47] So I have a top three.

[01:16:48] The Tremors Rewatch, the Belko Experiment and Dr. Sleep.

[01:16:52] Great choices.

[01:16:53] Yes. And then for all the other categories and stuff,

[01:16:58] she also has some other thoughts and input here.

[01:17:01] So main character,

[01:17:02] Nimona with runner up Tess from Barbarian.

[01:17:06] Right.

[01:17:07] Nice side character Abra from Dr.

[01:17:10] Sleep and runner up Rod Williams, the best TSA agent from Get Out.

[01:17:15] And yes, before you even say anything, she's with you on the

[01:17:18] I guess Abra is a side character.

[01:17:20] Abra Stone means more to that more than that to me.

[01:17:23] So no, she got love.

[01:17:26] OK, she did get some love.

[01:17:30] I'm thinking about threat.

[01:17:32] This one's an interesting one.

[01:17:33] Says threat society of the snow, just the whole concept of it.

[01:17:38] Like whether I guess to read into it completely just on my own volition.

[01:17:43] I don't know the snow, the crash, each other, the entire concept.

[01:17:47] Everything is just yeah, it makes sense.

[01:17:50] Definitely.

[01:17:51] I I get that because that movie,

[01:17:54] I think it's even more impactful because it's it's based on a true story and it's very

[01:18:01] it was very well researched and put together.

[01:18:04] And yeah, as you just mentioned, all of those things.

[01:18:09] Yeah, which also just I'm going to throw this out here,

[01:18:12] whether I don't know if she'd want to, but our friend Maria,

[01:18:16] who is listening, listens to this podcast,

[01:18:19] I know from time to time and has written in before, was on a vacation in Spain.

[01:18:25] It might still be.

[01:18:25] Yes, yes.

[01:18:27] And and she just posted she went to like a special like book signing thing

[01:18:31] and she actually met, I think, Eduardo most, if not all like the like

[01:18:36] surviving people from it, because I think some of the others were there

[01:18:40] also, but then like he was doing like a signing and stuff

[01:18:42] and she posted a picture with him.

[01:18:44] And that's just it is so cool.

[01:18:46] All right.

[01:18:51] And to continue on with Catherine's feedback,

[01:18:55] she then says I also ranked all the movies this season

[01:18:57] mostly based on how much fun I had watching them and how likely I would be to rewatch.

[01:19:02] So this is her list from best to least best.

[01:19:08] There's no worst.

[01:19:08] You know what? It's a true ranking of our movies this season.

[01:19:13] Yeah, which is awesome. That's really fun.

[01:19:15] So she goes, Nimona, the Belko experiment, Five Nights at Freddy's,

[01:19:20] Tucker and Dale versus Evil, Society of the Snow, Barbarian, Get Out,

[01:19:25] Magan, Doctor Sleep, Hot Fuzz, Dungeons and Dragons, The Purge,

[01:19:30] Insidious, World War Z, Sharknado, Silent Night, Sweetheart,

[01:19:35] Annihilation, Final Girl and Pet Sematary Bloodlines.

[01:19:40] Now, Peg, I would like you to redo that

[01:19:44] to the tune of We Didn't Start the Fire.

[01:19:48] Will it work? I don't know.

[01:19:50] It probably won't. But as you were reading it, yeah.

[01:19:54] Like because even just starting like Nimona, it's already off tune.

[01:19:59] Yeah. But I mean, it's a good idea to try, I guess in theory.

[01:20:06] Well, if you submit feedback now, it will be read on

[01:20:10] our first episode of season eight.

[01:20:14] But you can submit feedback on any of the movies we've covered at any time.

[01:20:19] You can do that by finding us on Facebook and Instagram at Run For Your

[01:20:51] We really appreciate it.

[01:20:53] We do absolutely indeed appreciate it so much.

[01:20:57] Of course, speaking of sharing the love, got to give those shout outs

[01:20:59] to things going on in the podcastica universe around us here.

[01:21:03] Lots of fun stuff.

[01:21:05] I mentioned it last week, so I'll mention it again one last time

[01:21:08] before we're gone for like a month or a little more.

[01:21:12] Strange Indeed, my other podcast, because by the time you come back

[01:21:15] into this will be running on our season three final season,

[01:21:20] final season of Sweet Tooth coverage over on Strange Indeed.

[01:21:23] Me and Rima will be.

[01:21:25] Full speed ahead into that a couple of episodes in

[01:21:28] by the time Run For Your Lives is back, so I'm giving you that heads up

[01:21:30] now to go definitely on our little break here.

[01:21:33] Check out Strange Indeed on June 11th, I think is

[01:21:38] the date we've set for recording the first one.

[01:21:41] So probably up that night or the next day, whatever.

[01:21:43] Just yeah, the week after it drops on Netflix.

[01:21:45] So definitely check that out.

[01:21:48] I'm excited to get back into that world.

[01:21:50] It'll be fun. Definitely.

[01:21:52] And then, of course, other things to check out the cast of us

[01:21:54] still doing their Walking Dead rewatch Jason and Lucy going through

[01:21:59] season two, episode 10, 18 miles out, and they will have special guest

[01:22:03] Archmaester Renny on there, which that's a name I haven't heard in a little bit.

[01:22:07] So I'm I'm really happy to see them back on a podcast.

[01:22:11] Like a podcast. That's amazing.

[01:22:15] Let's see. Yeah, Jeff, definitely check that out.

[01:22:18] Renny's awesome on the revisited podcast.

[01:22:22] Ben and Kristen back together for Ted Lasso rewatch coverage

[01:22:26] covering season three, episode four, big week this week.

[01:22:30] So go check that out.

[01:22:30] It's a big week for the podcast because it's back in the covering big week.

[01:22:35] And then on the Sandman cast,

[01:22:38] Jamie and Mark continuing to cover the Netflix

[01:22:42] Sandman spinoff series Dead Boy Detectives with episode three,

[01:22:46] the case of the Devlin House.

[01:22:48] So make sure to check that coverage out if you're watching that and a fan there.

[01:22:52] While Greg and Penny are covering season two,

[01:22:54] episode four titled Ready to Rumble of the of the show

[01:22:58] Extraordinary over on the Extraordinary cast.

[01:23:00] That is a Hulu and Disney Plus situation.

[01:23:04] If you got those, so go check that out.

[01:23:08] And then outside.

[01:23:11] Of podcast, we always give some love to some other great

[01:23:14] podcast networks and friends that we know

[01:23:18] always give love to TV podcast industries,

[01:23:20] as they are also going through Dead Boy Detectives.

[01:23:23] And then over on panels to pixels,

[01:23:26] our good friend Mark has got Kirk joining him over there

[01:23:29] as they're going to start running through the show Dark Matter.

[01:23:31] So their first episode is up there as well.

[01:23:34] The title of that episode, Are You Happy in Your Life?

[01:23:37] I haven't started watching that show yet, but Joel Edgerton, right?

[01:23:40] So like he's pretty good.

[01:23:43] I don't know.

[01:23:44] I haven't read any of the books.

[01:23:45] I don't know anything about it, but I know I've heard a lot of people

[01:23:48] talking about it being kind of pretty excited about what's to come from that.

[01:23:51] Might be something to check out on my long, long, long, long,

[01:23:54] ever growing list of things to watch all the time.

[01:23:57] You could start now and not sleep and watch that entire list.

[01:24:04] We would reach September 1st and you still wouldn't have finished it.

[01:24:09] No, it's just so much.

[01:24:11] So many good things on TV.

[01:24:13] So and lots of great podcasts covering all of it.

[01:24:15] So again, if you are watching Dark Matter, definitely check out

[01:24:18] the coverage of Dark Matter.

[01:24:19] But all of that aside, I usually would say that you can come back next week

[01:24:22] to Run For Your Lives, except no, you can't.

[01:24:25] This is the end.

[01:24:28] Yeah, this is the end of season seven.

[01:24:30] Seven seasons, almost four years of podcasting.

[01:24:35] Man, it's crazy.

[01:24:36] Yeah.

[01:24:37] Yeah. And so with that, we are giving ourselves a little break

[01:24:40] taking about five weeks or so off.

[01:24:43] I think it's like come back kind of the beginning of the season.

[01:24:46] About five weeks or so off, I think it's like come back kind of the beginning

[01:24:49] of July is the plan.

[01:24:50] Yeah, yeah.

[01:24:52] And yeah, so we'll be back then until then.

[01:24:57] Check out lots of other great shows, lots of good stuff.

[01:24:59] Come listen to me and Rima over on Strange Indeed when we kick that up in June.

[01:25:03] And then if you need something else to listen to, we've got a great backlog.

[01:25:06] If you are still episodes of Run For Your Lives you haven't listened to,

[01:25:10] go check out all of our stuff on our Facebook page.

[01:25:12] Daphne just actually posted our previous

[01:25:16] Riffle Awards winners from all seven seasons or all previous six seasons.

[01:25:21] And so if you want to know where to start,

[01:25:24] you can at least look at like what characters and movies and episodes

[01:25:26] won awards for those seasons.

[01:25:29] So you kind of know the best of the best of things

[01:25:31] that if you haven't listened and watched, go check those out.

[01:25:33] That was a lot of fun to put together.

[01:25:36] Finding the images and just making the graphics,

[01:25:39] because it was just fun to look back at how far we've come.

[01:25:44] Yeah, and I loved that Catherine, I think she sent a feedback last week

[01:25:48] that the difference between when we covered Termas the first time

[01:25:52] and then when we covered it on this rewatch that we did

[01:25:56] and how different the show is.

[01:25:57] And I really think it's because we just got into

[01:26:02] our own vibe, I guess.

[01:26:04] So, yeah, so this is the end of season seven.

[01:26:07] I can't believe that it's been seven seasons,

[01:26:10] but we will be back in July

[01:26:14] and we have a great one to start season eight.

[01:26:17] Yeah, I'm excited.

[01:26:19] So it'll be a lot of fun.

[01:26:20] So we will see you then.

[01:26:21] With that, we have reached the end of this episode and this season.

[01:26:27] Thanks, everyone, for listening.

[01:26:29] I'm Daphne.

[01:26:31] And I'm Peyton.

[01:26:34] And if you have to run, you better run for your lives.

[01:26:39] And until season eight, bye bye.
