[00:00:06] [SPEAKER_05]: You're listening to the Run for Your Lives Podcast.

[00:00:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey everyone, welcome to the show, I'm Daphne.

[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_05]: And I'm Pake.

[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_01]: And this is The Run for Your Lives Podcast.

[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_05]: This week we will be talking about the horror film Splinter,

[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_05]: was directed by Toby Wilkins and released October 31st.

[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_05]: That's right, Halloween.

[00:00:53] [SPEAKER_05]: 2008 says a little bit of an older one, though in it back.

[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_05]: And this movie was of course picked because it is a favorite of a good friend of ours

[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_05]: who happens to be a special guest this week.

[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Please welcome back to the podcast, talking about for the first time ever on your

[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_05]: not something tremors related from the TalkingTremors podcast.

[00:01:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Leave our live from the next video.

[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for watching, and I hope you enjoyed it.

[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I love it.

[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_02]: That was at least two hours.

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_02]: If you're playing along with us, this is a great thing to do.

[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Pake and I have agreed to play a drinking game.

[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Every time we mention tremors or anyone, I eat an olive,

[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_02]: a drink, because we might have a problem.

[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_02]: We might have a compulsion to do.

[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I'm sorry.

[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to be doing my best to keep them on track and off tremors tangents.

[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_01]: At least not multiple hour tremors tangents.

[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll try to keep them on time.

[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to go on splinter.

[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_02]: They're not tangents today.

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going on splinter.

[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, all right.

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_01]: That sounds good.

[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, we are going to get into this way we always do with a few production notes,

[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_01]: which I did not include a lot of them because I kept some things for my notes.

[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_02]: So hiding things from us.

[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I am.

[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we're hiding something from her, Pake.

[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Could be never now.

[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_01]: So it was filmed near Oklahoma City in Oklahoma.

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, one second.

[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I actually, I have to stop you because I found this really great note.

[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_02]: So apparently all four of our characters like they're in Oklahoma,

[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_02]: they're all going to the same city in Oklahoma.

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what that city is?

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Bakes me!

[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh lord, help me.

[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh huh.

[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_01]: So you didn't say tremors, but you're talking about Bixby.

[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Take a drink.

[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Get in olive.

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_05]: We shouldn't drink it.

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know why you keep drinking the olive juice.

[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_05]: You already said your eating.

[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_05]: It's just.

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_05]: They're just drinking olive juice out of the jar.

[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_05]: It's an extra large dirty martini hold the martini.

[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep.

[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no.

[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what's up with that.

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, as Pake mentioned, it was released on Halloween in 2008.

[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Grossed $510,000 at the box office.

[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_01]: I have no budget info.

[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Was 82 minutes long.

[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Pake.

[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Bring us this inopsis.

[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Right.

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Trapped in an isolated gas station by a voracious splinter parasite.

[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_05]: The transforms it's still living victims into deadly hosts.

[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_05]: A young couple and escaped convict must find a way to work together to survive this prime.

[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Tira.

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Dunt, dun, dun.

[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Through a little extra sauce on it.

[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know why, but it just felt.

[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Boosh, yeah.

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_05]: It was good to do it.

[00:04:19] Yeah.

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, this is going to be a fun one.

[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_01]: As Pake mentioned, Levi picked this movie for us to cover.

[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_01]: So we are doing things differently when we do, um, when we have a guest on the podcast.

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_01]: We each bring three things that we want to talk about.

[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Levi has brought multiple pages of notes.

[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, that I think may be more than Pake has ever taken for an episode of Run Gear Lives.

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_01]: So we may have a longer than usual episode.

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to keep it low.

[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to try to keep our hands.

[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to try.

[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_02]: It's my goal.

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_05]: I can't see points and I've got to know.

[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_05]: So we'll talk about everything you want to.

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_01]: That's how we do that.

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Let's kick it off.

[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Levi, we're going to start with you.

[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, all right.

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_02]: So I honestly, I made some assumptions for what I thought you three, you two would pick for your three.

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_00]: So okay.

[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_02]: If these get close, uh, these are as I told the Afni, these are after my own her.

[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, my first one is the lore rules and biology of the creature, um, which is that I kind

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_02]: of thought, which is actually something that I love about Trauma.

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_02]: But like, so I watched this movie like for the first time on their sci-fi channel and I actually found out that

[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_02]: it had a life in theaters before the sci-fi channel, which was really weird.

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, but when I was watching it like as my playback here, there's two really great like,

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_02]: oh, shit.

[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_02]: That's some nice setup.

[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, the first one is that's their planning in the beginning of the movie.

[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_02]: There's a sign that says, uh, such and such oil company experimental oil extraction site.

[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_02]: And if you know splinter for anybody that's listening, uh, the shit that splinter is very

[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_02]: like, it's very, it has a viscous material to it.

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, you know what that was?

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_05]: I didn't have to look it up.

[00:06:17] [SPEAKER_05]: I immediately saw it and I was like, oh, that's a new one for me on practical effects.

[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_05]: They were using Pharaoh fluid, which is so cool.

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, I thought there's a bit with the thing that the literal, yeah, it looks like the thing

[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_02]: that we have in our fingers.

[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_02]: It's sucking stuff up in the way that the the goo was moving.

[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Like it looked exactly like Pharaoh fluid.

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_05]: I, again, I didn't research that so I don't have confirmation, but I mean, it is.

[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_05]: If you look at it, it is.

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, so there's oil and then there's another one where the main character of Seth, uh, who has a PHD and biology

[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_02]: is talking about how the trees are like 400 years old.

[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_02]: So there's this level of like, here we are.

[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_02]: We're in this old growth forest.

[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_02]: All they're extracting oil and stuff.

[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_02]: And that gives you this lower, like I'm a huge, like I loved it.

[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Not like really press on one alarm or a creature, but why something's there in his

[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_02]: there. And then the other one is.

[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_02]: The rules, like actually like.

[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_02]: They do it in tremors.

[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_02]: They can't help it.

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, they're like, what are the coolest things to do in a movie with monsters?

[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_02]: It's finding out why they're attacking you.

[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And that was like, oh, with the heat seeking. Okay. Now it's following us.

[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_02]: These are these different things.

[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, and you actually get, that's the setup with that guy at least having a PHD

[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_02]: in biology of just like, okay.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_02]: He's seeing a couple of things here moving on and and piecing them together.

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I do it much like Rhonda and Sermon has was time up.

[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_05]: You're doing this to yourself.

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I feel absorbed of any guilt because you are the one that's bringing it up.

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_01]: And then you're just listening.

[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_05]: They have so many olives to get through.

[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Also looking at that jar.

[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah.

[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I love in a monster movie, the reasoning like what that adds so much.

[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to say mental, but just the why is this happening of a situation.

[00:08:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Even if you monster don't, I hope they don't exist.

[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_02]: But to maybe inside of that world,

[00:08:34] [SPEAKER_02]: wonder what's going on here.

[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And then to be smart inside of that figure out the rules and play against them is very,

[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_02]: very cool.

[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_02]: And I just love it. So I have talked so much already.

[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_05]: So many things.

[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_05]: No, that's fine because when it gets to me, you know,

[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_05]: how does Levi you listen and definitely has to, it's forced to listen to me every week.

[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_05]: So once I get to one of my points,

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_05]: I always have guests on a guest is like, I liked the cinematography.

[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_05]: The end moving on and I'm like, all right, well,

[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_05]: here's my four pages of notes about this one character.

[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Here we go.

[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_05]: That's true.

[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_02]: There's a legitimate case to be an out of like,

[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I have four pages on say we're going to.

[00:09:16] You know what I'm saying?

[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we said rules, law, biology,

[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_02]: the why of something is super duper important to me as a writer myself and a movie maker.

[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Like that's my like, why do we get here? That's so cool.

[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm going to go next because mine can tie into Levi's.

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's basically about the effects for the movie.

[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Practical effects as you know are one of our favorite things on run for your lives.

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.

[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_01]: And Toby Wilkins wanted practical effects.

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_01]: And so quantum creation effects did the effects for the movie.

[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_01]: They are a company that has done a couple of things like the costume elements for the tomorrow war,

[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_01]: armor for black Panther.

[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_01]: They also provided armor or costumes for watchmen,

[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Thor Wagner Rock and the predator, which I thought was very cool.

[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_01]: In order to do some of these things,

[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_01]: they used a variety of performance, including a mine, stunt person and a gymnast

[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_01]: to build all these jerky movements of the infected.

[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Because I have to tell you the bone breaking sounds and things and the fingers.

[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, those are things that kind of creep me out a little bit.

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I know, pig loves them. There is favorite part in any movie.

[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_05]: That's not as bad. The bone breaking stuff isn't so bad.

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_02]: It's.

[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_02]: There's already sure that one scene in this movie is pretty.

[00:10:52] [SPEAKER_05]: It can be like, but no, it's the more what really gets me.

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_05]: We talk about like certain things is like,

[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_05]: like the more graphic like,

[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_05]: like, would like pain inflicted on something that already.

[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Is there?

[00:11:10] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, we just, it hasn't released at the time of recording this.

[00:11:14] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if I hasn't listened to it, but for those who are listening in real time,

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_05]: we just did bright burn.

[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_05]: And so like the scene of the lady pulling the like,

[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_05]: shard of glass slowly out of her eyeball.

[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_05]: That.

[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_05]: What is really lingering?

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Or like we'd have read you're not and you've got a whole shot in your hand

[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_05]: and then you're like holding yourself up on a nail with the hole in your things like that

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_05]: or what really gets me.

[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_00]: They do.

[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I was listening to interviews and so the guy Charles Baker,

[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_02]: that's the the gas station attendant.

[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_02]: He's the mine.

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_01]: So you said there's three performers like there's a different people to do different parts of it.

[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm sure he did his part.

[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_02]: They had them all three due to movements over and over again.

[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And then when they went into the Ed room,

[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_02]: they just cut which one was doing it at different times.

[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, that's cool.

[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, this is actually because they did this,

[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_01]: this jerking kind of filming when it came to the monster.

[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_01]: You never really saw like tight straight on filming without like herky jerky camera work.

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't even call it fake.

[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_02]: People, I saw it in the internet where it's like there's a lot of shaking camera.

[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_00]: It was really shaking.

[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_02]: It was just a fast cut.

[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_02]: It's handheld.

[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a lot of like you can tell the camera is small and they're getting up and we have this stuff.

[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And I thought that that part worked with lights and everything.

[00:12:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:12:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Like there's a lot of flashing lights.

[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_02]: It was like, I fit the vibe.

[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_01]: But Toby Wilkins liked the idea of a creature taking over its host to be scarier than just killing it.

[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_01]: And he wanted the characters to get infected and then have it take over their bodies,

[00:13:02] [SPEAKER_01]: but not completely lose it.

[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_01]: What we see with Dennis is he gets a splinter in his finger from the tire.

[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_01]: And we see over the course, we kind of see the trajectory of what happened.

[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Then we also see the gas station attendant who gets attacked and then we get to see kind of the end result of how he's completely infected and.

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_01]: At least he can say help me.

[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean that's basically all that he can say.

[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_02]: He says kill me.

[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Is he even a guy?

[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_01]: But also if you look at the creature.

[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_01]: That actually did.

[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, the splinter fungus is what movie monster wiki calls it.

[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's I think that's kind of cool.

[00:13:52] [SPEAKER_01]: You're looking at an organism that doesn't really understand human bodies and how they work.

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_01]: So when it takes over.

[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_01]: It's bending and contorting and breaking bones.

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Very the thing in the experience.

[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_05]: This is the body I'm in, but this is the logic and logistics of how this body actually works.

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Doesn't apply to me.

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't care.

[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_02]: It moves how it needs to get something done at this.

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_02]: That's where I love the shaking camp because it feels like that's.

[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_02]: It's almost infected in a way and it's moving along with the creature.

[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_02]: It seemed very thought out for just being fucking handheld.

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a bit of a feeling when I went to read more about the splinter fungus.

[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I like this definition.

[00:14:42] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a parasitic fungus of unknown origin that jabs itself into any organic, sentient creature.

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Like animals and humans.

[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_01]: It slowly kills them via the infection.

[00:14:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Then reanimates their bodies to control them as hosts.

[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that's good.

[00:14:59] [SPEAKER_01]: It is horrifying.

[00:15:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I find that definition it kind of connects me to things like invasion of the body snatchers.

[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_01]: And things like that because...

[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, the first thing I'm going to think of is quarter-saps.

[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Like the last semester, I'd grow with all the gifts.

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:15:16] [SPEAKER_01]: So it's very, I mean, and this was before, this was before those came out.

[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a very interesting concept.

[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_01]: And he only had a small writing credit.

[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Woken's added this element to the story.

[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, this was the element that he wanted to do.

[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah.

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_01]: So that's pretty much what I have.

[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Nice.

[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm adding on just...

[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_05]: It's not really one of my points.

[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_05]: So yeah, add on just yet the practical effects.

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Just some of those notes.

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, we talked about the pharaoh fluid, which is really cool to see.

[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_05]: I love... Again, I enjoy use of practical effects over CJ.

[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Because like, there was like some of the prosthetics in like practical effects and dummies and things that were in this movie.

[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_05]: It's supposed to be scary and it's fun and I enjoy it.

[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_05]: But like that hand skittering and jumping around in the floor.

[00:16:09] [SPEAKER_05]: I can't help but just last.

[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_05]: And it's crackling at the whole time.

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm like, that's the goofy as shit I've seen in my life.

[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_05]: And I love it.

[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_05]: But I was like, you know, some is like goofy as some of these prosthetics and dummies and things where we're practical.

[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_05]: I was like, the few times the UCGI.

[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_05]: I was like, oh no, that's bad.

[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_05]: That's bad.

[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Go back to the...

[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, practical always forever.

[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_05]: But yeah, that hand was just something special.

[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Something very special to me.

[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_05]: And it made me think, I was like, man, if we need to ever cover another movie that set in a gas station convenience store.

[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Yoga hosers is still always on the table.

[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Just saying.

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what I'm saying.

[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what that is.

[00:16:54] [SPEAKER_02]: It's too holy.

[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Like young girls working in a convenience store.

[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Fighting off a horde of bratsies, which are of course little Nazi brought worse.

[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_05]: To Kevin Smith film.

[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh my god.

[00:17:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I want to watch that.

[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm sorry.

[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Tell me this.

[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Is Lily Rose definite?

[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_05]: She stars in it.

[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Her and Harley Quinn.

[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Are the two.

[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_01]: And this is based off.

[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Johnny Deppson, he makes a cameo.

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_01]: This is kind of in the Tuske University, right?

[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:17:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Because they were in the hospital.

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_05]: It's the same characters.

[00:17:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:17:33] [SPEAKER_05]: There's been off movie.

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, um, what we need something fun to do will look at that one.

[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_05]: And on the note, Pete, what we're doing?

[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_05]: All right.

[00:17:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Let's see my first one we go with is I just called Survive.

[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Just talking about some of the planning and ideas and things that are heroes, I don't

[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Dennis is not a hero.

[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_05]: I wouldn't even say he's an anti here.

[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_05]: He's a bad guy who's like trying to atone at the end for within some way anyway.

[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Like I was like, I knew it.

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Technically.

[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_05]: We just don't know.

[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_05]: But also like he still held them at gunpoint and threatened to kill poly so many times

[00:18:17] [SPEAKER_05]: And hit her in the face with the butt of the gun and like hijacked their car.

[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_05]: And like he's still not a, and also if it wasn't for for him and Lacey taking the car and forcing

[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_05]: them to do, then they would have never wound up with that gas station and none of this would have happened

[00:18:33] [SPEAKER_05]: to them.

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_05]: So like it is called he's not.

[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you know what I'm actually going to disagree with you there because maybe like they still

[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_02]: would have hit the thing on the road.

[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And then that would have broken the radiator and then they still would have had to get

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_02]: to the gas station later on.

[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I hadn't thought about that.

[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_02]: They might have still and they might have died because Dennis wasn't there because Lacey wasn't there

[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_02]: to do something casual.

[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_02]: These are these are butterfly effects.

[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't do that until you said that I'm like, because it's still on the same road.

[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_02]: They're going the same direction.

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Now I have to agree with Pake, I don't think that any of this would have happened if they hadn't been

[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_01]: a car duct.

[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_03]: That's what makes you good story baby.

[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_05]: What's your most interesting day in your character's life?

[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I mean, I'm glad that yeah, I mean, the movies great with like the story that goes, but I'm just

[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_05]: say, I don't think I would ever call Dennis a hero.

[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_05]: He's not a good guy.

[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_05]: He's just, but he's there.

[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_02]: But there's not like, man, he's I agree.

[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_02]: There's like the surviving, no flag.

[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_05]: But yeah, just some of the things that they went through and some were great ideas and some,

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_05]: not so great.

[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, you know, hey, let's open a door to the outside and then start making a lot of noise to make sure this

[00:19:46] [SPEAKER_05]: parasite control monster can definitely hear us.

[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Of course, there's the cage in front of the door that kept them from leaving and I was like, well,

[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_05]: might keep something from coming in.

[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Also, so I guess you're okay there might.

[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know because whatever took Lacey and stuff over this thing, I don't think it really cares about

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_05]: bones and skin or anything else that's going to get in the way of a goal of squeezing itself through a cage

[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_05]: in a door.

[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_05]: So I think it would come in anyway.

[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not just on our mouth underneath that, uh, I get rid of its arm.

[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_05]: So you see they had the police officer show up and I was like, maybe that'll help and then it's like,

[00:20:22] [SPEAKER_05]: no, I mean, they did tell her to get back in her car only like 14 million times.

[00:20:27] [SPEAKER_01]: She was not listening. She was hyper focused.

[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_01]: We've got Dennis, we've got Dennis.

[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_01]: We've got to get him.

[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_01]: We've been looking for you.

[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_01]: We need to get you in the car.

[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Not listening.

[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Dennis, Dennis is here seeing nobody cares.

[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_05]: No, no, no, no, no.

[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_01]: They did.

[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I thought that was a bit overkill.

[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Like the number of times they were trying to get her to listen.

[00:20:50] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like just killer already.

[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Please, she's not listening.

[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, she's not going to let's just do it.

[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, they're also the weird plan of like, let's just set the four stone fire.

[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_05]: And it's like, that's a plan that's going to make tree boy uneasy in several ways.

[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm sure.

[00:21:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, I did agree with him.

[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm like, yeah, there's a stream of gas or lighter fluid leading right back into the station that you're trapped in.

[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_05]: That does sound like an insane idea.

[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know why you ever considered it.

[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Like they literally have this plan.

[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to light the forest on fire and they're going through this all whenever

[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_02]: and then he's like, well, don't I have a better idea?

[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And all this.

[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And then literally just drop that plan.

[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_05]: You're like, you know what?

[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that plan was shit.

[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_05]: You're right.

[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, let's do these mangers instead.

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_03]: It's like, okay, I didn't matter.

[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Or maybe it's just, yeah, Seth comes through.

[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_05]: He's finally proven we were something uses the coat hangers through the walk-up window.

[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_05]: So you can try to get the radio, which is almost a perfect plan.

[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_05]: But then Splinter Ella shows up and gives them a hand.

[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, my gosh.

[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Ooh, dude.

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Splinter Ella.

[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and then Seth the soon to be biologist.

[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_05]: He's he's a student.

[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_05]: He's getting his PhD, but he comes in clutch again realizing that these splinter monsters work like

[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Shreakers and they're attracted to heat.

[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_05]: I was going to do it.

[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_05]: Which you know, when that's why skinny peat out there is deciding to keep snuggling with the hood of the car.

[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Loves the heat.

[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, they don't even need to do that.

[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_01]: No.

[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, that was who that was.

[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Because I have a note about that because uh, oh my god.

[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh my god.

[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh my god.

[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Bright burn that we did last week and then we got Charles Baker in this movie.

[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_05]: So back to back.

[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_05]: We've got Badrins skinny peat reunited kind of.

[00:22:42] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, back to back, but we're bringing the gang together.

[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_01]: In the friend of your large universe.

[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh.

[00:22:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I knew he looked familiar.

[00:22:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_01]: But I did not put two in two together.

[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh.

[00:22:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but so this this heat attraction.

[00:22:59] [SPEAKER_05]: So they don't have a bunch of fire extinguishers to Earl Bassett him.

[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_05]: So packs of ice bags to work.

[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_05]: I'll do that instead.

[00:23:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Why am I starting to feel like pay wants to consume copious amounts of alcohol in?

[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_05]: I haven't even been drinking for these because I'm reading and talking.

[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Or.

[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_01]: But.

[00:23:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Make Levi eat all of the olives in the jar.

[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh my god.

[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_05]: A lot of olives.

[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_05]: I'll drink it out.

[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, no.

[00:23:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:23:32] [SPEAKER_05]: The ice thing.

[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_05]: There's a point.

[00:23:35] [SPEAKER_05]: I was like the actual logic and science.

[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_05]: And going to have to fully ignore a little bit.

[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_05]: It was like wouldn't he warm right back up pretty quickly at getting out of the ice.

[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Especially when he goes outside and like the 90's something to greet.

[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Like he would have seconds, which I mean maybe that's all they needed.

[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_05]: But then you seem like going out to the car and like, I don't know how power buttons work.

[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_05]: You're not like maybe try the power button?

[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.

[00:23:59] [SPEAKER_05]: The first before everything else.

[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_05]: So it's like a little like.

[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Complaints but also it's just in fun because it's like it's a goofy movie.

[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_05]: It's fun.

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Because then yeah, the fire comes back into play, which I was like no, that the lighter fluid

[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_05]: is going to dissipate it so long ago.

[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_05]: It just, you know, it doesn't stay flammable that long.

[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_05]: It vapors off and I would know that because I had plenty of pyro maniac fun in my youth.

[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_05]: So I know how lighter fluid works in that way.

[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Mainly my version of that was me and my friends would just light skate ramps on fire and then skateboard on on them and stuff.

[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_05]: That was our favorite thing to do.

[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that.

[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_02]: He's playing game called fine the gasoline, where you'd like grow it on the ground and then you have a stick on fire and then you try to find a gasoline.

[00:24:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I live in Iowa.

[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not a long video.

[00:24:51] [SPEAKER_01]: These are not things that I remember doing as a child or hearing of anyone doing as a child.

[00:25:00] [SPEAKER_01]: So they must be.

[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_05]: They out of the long darts and all we had left was find the gasoline.

[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, come to Iowa.

[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll show you.

[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just mainly lighting.

[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And the corn lots of corn.

[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_05]: So much corn and maybe.

[00:25:20] [SPEAKER_05]: So yeah, so that's really all my notes is just these.

[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Plans of survival and what worked, what did.

[00:25:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I had a lot of plans, but it's like tremors anyway.

[00:25:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I have a list here of like the tremors compares.

[00:25:36] [SPEAKER_02]: But is it my turn now?

[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_01]: It is your turn.

[00:25:38] [SPEAKER_01]: So if you feel the need to consume an entire jar of olives and let it all out.

[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Leave I bring it out of the way, your tremors to splinter comparisons.

[00:25:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my god.

[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_02]: No, no, they're just here and they have to come up organically or stop.

[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll get through them all, then I'll be like.

[00:26:02] [SPEAKER_02]: But to take I love this, it makes it me up for this.

[00:26:07] [SPEAKER_02]: One of my points is set up.

[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey off and surroundings.

[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_02]: And I feel this movie did really.

[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll start like using the surroundings of things like where you're at.

[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_02]: To make something happen like that lighter fluid like using the fridges.

[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Like these are like, oh, okay, here's where you're at and doing that.

[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_02]: And but there was a lot of setup and pay off and one of my favorites was when we were talking about earlier with the.

[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_02]: The infection in the finger and gets a splinter and we think.

[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just a fucking splinter who cares whatever and then slowly or whatever it.

[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_02]: That one that first finger back where the content that just.

[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And came to watch the twice with me and she's like, that is just the fucking worst.

[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know right.

[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_02]: But then slowly going through that and and then even.

[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_02]: So like how you were talking about that guy having to like cold down his body.

[00:27:06] [SPEAKER_02]: There's some even if the logic is flawed and it there's still a you have to pay for it.

[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Like she had he's not like.

[00:27:15] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not like Earl Bassett with the fire thing was sure, and it's just super easy to go in there.

[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_02]: He's cold and he's like literally struggling.

[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's not covering himself with like a I called factor he's literally bringing his entire core temperature down.

[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and then one of my.

[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm really we rarely see this in a movie, but when she wakes them arm like fully starts and then it doesn't go backwards one and they literally have to cut it off.

[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_02]: It is ever get like this is a consequence.

[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_02]: This is legitimate consequence to something happening.

[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god now we're like dealing with it and it's horrifying.

[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Another one Seth can't ever find keys.

[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Like he can't find the keys for the back door ever find a keys and then when he goes to the car.

[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_02]: He didn't fucking think to grab like the keys out of the share of his pocket.

[00:28:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Like he can't ever find.

[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Fucking keys.

[00:28:10] [SPEAKER_02]: He she we can call that that one character firecracker always called a man got a real firecracker. Oh, it's got a real firecracker there. What do they use later on actual fireworks and there's actually great big signs in the background to say we sell fireworks.

[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_02]: It's been there the whole time.

[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and then to pigs point the lighter flute I thought at the whole time or like okay that's that's a even while they're doing it.

[00:28:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And like you need to light that on fire really quick because it's just going to go nowhere for them to finally bring it back around. Oh no, it's still there and then lights the store on fire and then that's the thing that oh we got a light this thing on fire is a okay set up pay off.

[00:28:53] And then.

[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Ginger so there's got one Lacy Lacy's all met out and stuff and I come from a background of having people that would do way too much meth in and around my life.

[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_02]: So I've been there done that her like freaking out about ginger makes it easier to believe later when she's like, there's a man was spikes man was spikes and he just like sure there.

[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Well that like makes sense for why you would say that because she's fucking like strong out.

[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Why would you believe that I love believable character moments because it's a horror movie you never want to.

[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, these people have to die because they're stupid. You want them to like go through legitimate things and in my final one is that.

[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And I only caught it on my fourth watch through recently that while it's in cell phones give them up and then he throws out their cell phones which is why they can't call anybody later.

[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Like just these little like, um shit. I'm cornered for like why wouldn't that happen you it's 2008 is still the fucking cell phone but these just these little setups and payoffs and the surroundings using the hangers what's in there hiding in the front and the dust pan.

[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_02]: That lighter food thing is super stupid but when they take the dust pan and they put it under there and they're squeezing them like this is fucking this is brilliant.

[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_05]: So I don't know how much like the director and writers like spent just in like convenient stores looking around like okay what could we use and how would it be.

[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Well the the gas station that they used they actually had to build onto to make it bigger.

[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was abandoned. They pulled out the front wall added windows.

[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they did the work.

[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_02]: It was completely abandoned.

[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. But the script had been around for a while. Ian Sour had actually had it written for a while and so then Toby Wilkins came in and like directed it but there's a whoever wrote it was definitely like okay I've been in this 7 11 lot what can I use in here if there's like a monster attack.

[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[00:30:55] [SPEAKER_01]: So that's that's what I don't know about box cutters to cut limbs off that.

[00:30:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I have a note there's a line where he like wakes up screaming and polygos it's okay we're cutting your arm off and I was like not with a box cutter you're not.

[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know what you're trying to do because my first thought is like yeah you get a nice little layer cut that's going to just art real bad but there's all kinds of bone and muscle and it's like that you're not that's not doing anything.

[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_05]: No, I used box cutters for you listen.

[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_05]: The end of the day.

[00:31:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I think you use the center block to get the rest of it like that's a.

[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_02]: He said that's there's constant there's weight literal weight to the action that is really.

[00:31:31] [SPEAKER_02]: That's doing that so much.

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like being stuck alone in a general store out in the middle of nowhere and having to fight a monster that's trying to get you know it's just like.

[00:31:46] [SPEAKER_01]: You should have you probably should just finish the drink you have right now for the number of.

[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_05]: I haven't even been keeping it.

[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_03]: No, there's a lot I think we're in 20 so that's fine.

[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_03]: All right, yeah, that's with it.

[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so I want to talk about polo castanzo and his arc and him being the unconventional leading man.

[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Because it doesn't seem like he is when you first meet him, he is this.

[00:32:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to be camping, which I can totally relate to because I hate the outdoors.

[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I do not go outside that much.

[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, he just wants to get in that motel and poke some sheep.

[00:32:30] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, so however, he was worried about he doesn't want to go camping, but he had promised her they could go.

[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_01]: They eff up the 10 so they can't use that.

[00:32:42] [SPEAKER_01]: So they're on their way, but the thing is where he started.

[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Like the way that Dennis puts him down or you can't do that and you can't do that and what, you know acting like you can't.

[00:32:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I wrote this line down. You got to severe cases CDS.

[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.

[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_01]: So he couldn't. He just kept getting told what you can't do that and you can't do that.

[00:33:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Once they get inside that convenience store other than the key thing.

[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_01]: They were a number of times that he really steps up.

[00:33:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he is the one that has to cut Dennis's arm off.

[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_01]: He's the one who lays down in freezes to get his body temperature down and comes up with these ideas of what they can do.

[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_01]: It just in the beginning when you meet him, you don't imagine that this is, I mean, I can't, I forgot what happens because I had seen this before.

[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I was, I thought he would die. I really did. I thought she would probably be the only one that got out because in the beginning he just couldn't do anything.

[00:33:47] [SPEAKER_01]: And then he used his brain, Mr. Biology PhD candidate to solve some of the issues that were going on for them.

[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_01]: And so I appreciated that because he's not this hot, you know, studgy, athlete guy that you usually see in roles like this.

[00:34:10] [SPEAKER_01]: It's always, you know, tight cast is the boyfriend who has to be, you know, have lots of muscles, be scantily dressed, physically strong.

[00:34:24] [SPEAKER_01]: That's what you usually see. I liked that we didn't get that template.

[00:34:33] [SPEAKER_01]: We got someone a little bit different that was a little bit deeper because it was obvious he really cared about her.

[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_01]: He tried to protect her at different times and I appreciated that more than if it had been the generic guy that we usually get.

[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I appreciated it. So I think it's arc from being the nerdy boyfriend at the beginning to being like a brave pro-chagannist in trying to get them out of the situation they were in.

[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Even though it didn't always work, I appreciated it. I mean, I felt like he tried. He was trying to get them out of it.

[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_01]: And he didn't get the credit at the beginning. So it kind of was like this, this arc that was like straight and then boom, like he came, he changed and became the person he needed me and I liked that a lot.

[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And he feels like it happens in that moment when they're doing the lighter fluid thing and he's like, this is really.

[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_05]: If I don't step up, we're all dead. Yeah.

[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, really? Do you understand where in a forest at a gas station? This is a bad idea.

[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, honestly, I got more to add to it. That's not my third point. So that I, I wholeheartedly agree this like what am I favorite.

[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I appreciate it. I think nerdy guys are actually cute and I like to see them get some attention, I guess.

[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I like that it's not the conventional hot guy that everyone is always looking for. I like that he had a brain and he used it to focus on getting them out.

[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Nice night as long as it's not too early or too hot outside.

[00:36:33] [SPEAKER_01]: That's after Maya.

[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my heart. I hate when it's hot and I don't like to get up early.

[00:36:42] [SPEAKER_05]: I love to go camping with like a nice cabin bed and AC and running water and stuff.

[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_05]: You know, where you go outside and you sit around a little like fire pit and drink and make some more hot dogs and hang out.

[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_05]: And then you go back inside to like cabin with electricity and air conditioning in the water.

[00:37:01] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm down with that kind of camping anytime. Let's do it.

[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I like the Airbnb form of camping where you go to a place that you're not really used to. It has like an outdoor area together, but inside you've got a TV and games and fun stuff that you can do.

[00:37:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Like that sounds like a trip I'm taking. Not that far from now.

[00:37:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't have to do with another podcast. Is there?

[00:37:32] [SPEAKER_01]: It's an annual thing that we do.

[00:37:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you're going to trimmer's past to do the talking.

[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Tramers podcast.

[00:37:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Sure.

[00:37:43] [SPEAKER_01]: And we tried to go to trebers fast.

[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_01]: We absolutely have planned out.

[00:37:51] [SPEAKER_01]: It did not work this time.

[00:37:53] [SPEAKER_02]: If it had been my choice, I wouldn't cancel it and I would have seen you next year.

[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_05]: All right. We've talked about a lot of stuff. So my points are getting shorter, which is fine.

[00:38:02] [SPEAKER_05]: And the last thing that needs to be longer.

[00:38:05] [SPEAKER_05]: So yeah, I wanted to talk a little bit about Denny.

[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_05]: No, Dennis, a little bit talked about him a little bit more.

[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, just an leave I pointed this out earlier. You get like the characters humanized a little bit.

[00:38:22] [SPEAKER_05]: As you see it, because at first it's like, oh, he's some, you know, con convict on the run bad person holding people up hijacking people taking their stuff.

[00:38:32] [SPEAKER_05]: But then you feel a little bad for him because he's like balancing. He's got lacy with him.

[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Clearly is like with on with like going through withdrawals or strong out on something and he can't tell which it is.

[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_05]: And he's like my whole point is like his goal. He's like, I need to pay back and a tone for my past sins.

[00:38:49] [SPEAKER_05]: And then get her somewhere with that law isn't after her and me and focus on getting her clean and getting her in a better place.

[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_05]: And so he does have a good intention and you know, he's trying to do something better.

[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_05]: And life and you feel a little bad because you can just tell through their conversation in the way like,

[00:39:06] [SPEAKER_05]: well, she's holding a gun on him, freaking out about ginger and he's like,

[00:39:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Ginger's been dead. Like that's not your dog. Like, do you hear what you're talking about?

[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_05]: And like you can see like even with a gun in his face how calmly he's able to like talk her down.

[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_05]: He's like, oh, he has been up and down this road a million times. This is natural for him.

[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_05]: And you see him just having the patience with her that he does.

[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_05]: And trying to be supportive. She's like, I wonder if this is like, even if she hates it, you know,

[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_05]: she's my girl in a like he's like, let's just get the next thing done and we're going to get you to a place where you need to be.

[00:39:39] [SPEAKER_05]: So I will give him some credit for that.

[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Also, I was like, who is this guy my last D in D character? Just taking money everywhere he goes.

[00:39:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I was that written down where it's like, hey man, you're in a gas station. You get some smokes.

[00:39:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Eat some fucking like, do you know what I'm saying?

[00:39:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And take all the money out of the jail. That's just this is part of your house.

[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Why not?

[00:40:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. And then seeing him even warm up to to Seth over the movie where I like the whole like, yeah,

[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_05]: a case of the CDS all the way to like, I underestimated you.

[00:40:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Can't change entire, but you can share it.

[00:40:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Chopping arm on.

[00:40:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I did what that's your line.

[00:40:20] [SPEAKER_01]: He just went had to be done. Like I felt like he was the one who stepped up and was doing the things that no one else wanted to do.

[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Or could do. So yeah.

[00:40:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and then this like humanizing and making him a better person of like we learn.

[00:40:33] [SPEAKER_05]: He was responsible for the death of an innocent person and he's got this kind of noble plan of now I've got this set of money that all of it is going to the widow.

[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_05]: And I did really like the line and it was like I figure if some if I can have a second chance then she deserves it too.

[00:40:52] [SPEAKER_05]: And and that's great. He's trying to atone.

[00:40:55] [SPEAKER_05]: And then yeah, there's been plenty of references to that other movie for Levi.

[00:40:59] [SPEAKER_05]: So I'm going to throw one to Daphne now with Dennis is kind of last her all big.

[00:41:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Sacrificing himself moment he goes full on the Alan Grant approach distracting with the flare.

[00:41:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Which was nice.

[00:41:17] [SPEAKER_01]: That did not go unnoticed.

[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Leading old clumpy McGee right back into the store after him.

[00:41:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, which didn't go great.

[00:41:29] [SPEAKER_05]: And then it was like before the movie ended.

[00:41:31] [SPEAKER_05]: It was like kind of just right like the ending.

[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_05]: It was like well, Dennis dies in front of the gas station after giving Seth and poly the keys and the info to get the money to the widow.

[00:41:38] [SPEAKER_05]: He does a final good deed after stopping the monster.

[00:41:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Skinny Pete and Poly's car lived happily ever after together snuggled up and never mind Dennis had fucking blue the whole place to help.

[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_01]: That works too.

[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh man.

[00:41:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Because that's like I get like they showed that you could sit there and shoot and shoot and shoot this creature and it doesn't do anything to it, but here we have skinny Pete who just like bypass the set because the heat and then I'm just like what is he doing is he just trying to cuddle with the car the whole movie.

[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_05]: That's what he's doing.

[00:42:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I was legit.

[00:42:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Because I watched it four times and I think that's like it's the what what says is about the instinct and the creature in it's like a plant like seeking out that car engine is just so hot that it's just like I assume this is food and then I stay.

[00:42:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't imagine.

[00:42:33] [SPEAKER_05]: So yeah, so that was my little head cannon before the whole place blew up.

[00:42:36] [SPEAKER_05]: I was just like in skinny Pete and poly's Jeep just they live happily ever after together they were a great couple.

[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Winning bells are in the future.

[00:42:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Polariously.

[00:42:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Both of you hit on my third point but not like all the way.

[00:42:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Which is actually gender flipping character arcs all the way like there's I really love exactly what definitely was saying that here we have it the beginning poly poly inner crackers.

[00:43:08] [SPEAKER_02]: You know.

[00:43:10] [SPEAKER_02]: More of the badass in the group as someone that can drive stick I'm always every time you can't I'm just like.

[00:43:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Learn how to drive stick something i fucking hard.

[00:43:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I can't drive a stick.

[00:43:26] [SPEAKER_01]: If it was life a death I could probably do it.

[00:43:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I'm this same boat was like I could learn if I needed to but like manual transmission, access for reason why but I want to.

[00:43:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Right. I have.

[00:43:38] [SPEAKER_05]: That's so I think you can do it.

[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I've done it before like I've learned. I know how is just I haven't done it.

[00:43:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Automatic automatic transmission.

[00:43:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I'll pick my head.

[00:43:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, automatic transmission exists for reason. Why would I want to?

[00:43:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. No, you wouldn't.

[00:43:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Or would you?

[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_02]: And then even Lacy's character is so we're every time I say Lacy because my sister's name is Lacy.

[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's just like it rings in my head just really fucking weird.

[00:44:03] [SPEAKER_02]: But being incredibly met and strong out.

[00:44:07] [SPEAKER_02]: But not being a damsel in distress but being like this status character in the whole movie.

[00:44:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Usually that's like not even pitty like you pity or you be angry at, but there's some actions that she's like that ginger thing is so.

[00:44:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Like it's like you are clearly.

[00:44:25] [SPEAKER_02]: However many days she's not on met that's actually specifically she says she's like a day.

[00:44:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I mean I don't tell look at it.

[00:44:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Like that's that's with draw symptoms.

[00:44:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but it's just like damn girl who's getting fucked up.

[00:44:39] [SPEAKER_01]: If I wrong or did she hide something in her tampon?

[00:44:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's what it's like.

[00:44:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yes.

[00:44:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I just caught that on my left.

[00:44:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Like she rips it open and then like something out.

[00:44:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I hope that's not used.

[00:44:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Sorry.

[00:44:57] [SPEAKER_02]: All right.

[00:44:58] [SPEAKER_02]: But then to both of your points and actually I feel like expanding on it that Dennis and Seth over here are fabulously written character like I know that I agree with.

[00:45:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I agree with that Dennis is actually wrote down the stands for dick, but it doesn't stand for dumbass.

[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I he's totally like a kind of a piece of shit even though he does have the like oh I'm doing this.

[00:45:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it's like a lot of people who are somebody else kind of with it, which is actually very very well written doesn't seem like him fish to appreciate.

[00:45:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Like when I like oh could he that's very him say it sort of in the beginning of the movie when they're talking about we need to get some place so we can do this and I have like something else happening.

[00:45:43] [SPEAKER_02]: You're like okay so that's there that's that up but then his slow and it's even it's because of Seth it seems like watching him.

[00:45:53] [SPEAKER_02]: And he has a great fucking line that I wrote down because it was it was cold when they're first in the gas station and.

[00:46:01] [SPEAKER_02]: And police going to do something any stops of him and he says you know here we can we both know that and it's just like.

[00:46:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, like fuck.

[00:46:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Like an absolute instruction and in a great.

[00:46:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I was think of the Avengers thing where you're not to guide a lay down his life and make the sacrifice play and it's like oh but he actually is like says there's the one there at that.

[00:46:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Actually do you recognize like he is the hero here you don't expect to come in and but it's just like that's really fucking good even to the lazy and Dennis point how.

[00:46:38] [SPEAKER_02]: There's a I said earlier where you want your characters in a horror movie to make sensible decisions otherwise you just like why not she die when she goes down that first time and she's like lazy is dead and then Dennis it just at that window just like.

[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Baby baby like he's looking at her and he finally sees that she's moving but she's not like for real moving and he goes out there and gets it it has been set up well enough in the movie that it's like oh he would.

[00:47:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Possibly like do that like he is so.

[00:47:09] [SPEAKER_02]: In love with her and he and it's not even a love he's really afraid of like oh she's fucked up that happened and him dragging that body even though he can't you can't see it but the arm thing has happened and it makes so much sense like it shouldn't but it's like now that's a great.

[00:47:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Character thing maybe not a great horror movie thing but that's really well done really well plotted.

[00:47:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And and then yeah like I said just just watching these two people grow and there's a great moment at the end where and I did my only complaint with this movie is the shotgun noise.

[00:47:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And then like that shotgun is way too fucking quiet.

[00:47:55] [SPEAKER_02]: They took the talk is even louder but like you know, Seth comes in and has been here on that moment and then Dennis is like hey catch and frozen to he's just fucking doing the one hand in my Arnold shoots and just like.

[00:48:10] [SPEAKER_02]: This is kind of impossible.

[00:48:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't it's so cool.

[00:48:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it all comes back around two there's a great light at the beginning when they're doing the tent and poly poly tell Seth she's like don't you always tell me we have to be smarter than the thing that we're working against and it actually works in two ways.

[00:48:30] [SPEAKER_02]: For the splinter thing and then for the hostage situation and there's two of these like these great stories kind of going with each other of like you're fighting both learning against and like growing with each other.

[00:48:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I it's why I really see below this movie like a practical effects are amazing the creature is amazing the location but is that we actually go through journey with these four people three by the end because one's dead and it's it's very plausible.

[00:49:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I want a lot of sci-fi channel original mouse movies is my favorite thing in the world and this I when I say that this is just the best of the best when it comes to that like low budget but they don't care if they're putting it all online and it's.

[00:49:16] [SPEAKER_02]: This is really well done.

[00:49:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Don't ever see anything when I'm talking.

[00:49:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Well listening I'm I'm in raptured by your incredible breaking down of arcs and tropes and plots I love it.

[00:49:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I I I I said I wanted to come prepared and that was like said that's why I picked this movie and it's always stuck with me since I watched it when I was like.

[00:49:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Who'd have been.

[00:49:42] [SPEAKER_02]: She 12 or 1991 or 15 or something like that in 2008 and it just.

[00:49:50] [SPEAKER_02]: It's it's a great great story but that's why tremors is so good is that you have all the great parts of it but you have to have otherwise the rest falls apart.

[00:50:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, Dennis and Seth to really well written characters on that actually all all four of them are I appreciate it.

[00:50:09] [SPEAKER_02]: But thank you I tried to be articulate.

[00:50:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I should put on my Stephen this is when I'm doing that just like so okay.

[00:50:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Apparently when.

[00:50:19] [SPEAKER_02]: For creating a monster like this you have to account for certain things.

[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Sorry in the tropes.

[00:50:27] [SPEAKER_05]: That does count.

[00:50:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I took it yeah, let's try not to tangent too much but no I I will always remember with tremors fest last year.

[00:50:37] [SPEAKER_05]: And maybe we talked about this on the episode where we had you come on to just kind of break that weekend down but.

[00:50:43] [SPEAKER_05]: The costume contest and you coming out dressed as Steve while he was like judging the.

[00:50:52] I.

[00:50:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, okay, so I got to say I actually came up my mind for this year is you're going to fucking love this this is so because I have to keep.

[00:51:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't do people on screen I got to do people behind the screen but I always got to flip it up a little bit so if you know something about the behind the scenes of tremors I'll eat my all of what I'm done here.

[00:51:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Don't worry I'm keeping track.

[00:51:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Ron underwood actually did the he's done doubled for Ronda at the end of the movie.

[00:51:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Like and he's like there's behind the scenes pictures with him in like a runaway and that purple shirt.

[00:51:28] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like.

[00:51:29] [SPEAKER_02]: But I'm going to dress up as well.

[00:51:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that's fantastic.

[00:51:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I love it.

[00:51:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I really like.

[00:51:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And there's a trans person I'm just like yeah that was really going to piss a couple people off in the theater.

[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited about that one.

[00:51:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Man, yeah, I know I miss on that episode where we talked about the festival but with Ron underwood being there and getting to meet him because I mean as much as like Michael Gross was incredible Steve Wilson incredible so many.

[00:51:59] [SPEAKER_05]: But like Ron underwood to like for me like this other like childhood connection I'm being like yes tremors is all of this to me but it's like.

[00:52:06] [SPEAKER_05]: But also I made sure to quite like thank him I was like also thank you for mighty Joe young because that movie was one of my like absolute biggest like childhood things that I watch so many times so yes.

[00:52:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I was in a bar go and they had a VHS of mighty Joe young and I had to stop all my friends and be like.

[00:52:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like this makes fun of me.

[00:52:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Favorite as a kid and then being like oh putting that like two and two together's like oh Ron underwood direct that to like I wouldn't I didn't think about directors as a kid I like I don't but then as adult realizing that me like.

[00:52:48] [SPEAKER_05]: You made two of my favorite things.

[00:52:50] [SPEAKER_05]: I love you.

[00:52:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm drink's worth and it's now.

[00:52:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm drink's.

[00:53:00] [SPEAKER_01]: So we've already talked about Dennis quite a bit but what I want to talk about is really how underrated.

[00:53:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Shea Wigham is as an actor okay he's one of those actors that you see in movies and you're oh with that's that guy he's in this movie and that will but you don't remember his name.

[00:53:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Well at run to realize we do because he was in one of my favorite movies that we've ever covered that I had never seen before we covered it.

[00:53:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Kong's got a great role there where he said.

[00:53:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I don't know if I can recognize himself just say.

[00:53:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh but that's what my favorite.

[00:53:45] [SPEAKER_05]: That's true.

[00:53:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:53:53] [SPEAKER_01]: He's been in he was in Joker.

[00:53:56] [SPEAKER_01]: He was in bad times at the L. Royale.

[00:53:59] [SPEAKER_01]: He was in American hustle. He was in Machete.

[00:54:02] [SPEAKER_01]: He's been in so many movies and I feel like we just I overlook it. It's like oh yeah that's like guy again he's been in all these things.

[00:54:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I've had a thing since I first saw this movie of like because Shay Wigham fucking knocks it out of the park and actually was looking behind like the director was talking that when they casted Shay Wigham.

[00:54:24] [SPEAKER_02]: The rest of the movie became easy like they like oh okay here's our performance and I worked around it.

[00:54:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Ever since I first saw this I have been like that for every time Shay Wigham shows up in a movie.

[00:54:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, is she Wigham and she's always like what the fuck are you talking? Who is there? Why do you care so much?

[00:54:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah he actually was the first one cast from movie and he adlibbed a lot of the dialogue that his character said.

[00:54:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Which I thought was cool. But yeah, I just feel like he doesn't get enough attention because he's a character actor kind of and he's you don't think oh yeah oh Shay Wigham would be great in that role.

[00:55:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think about that but then when you see him on the screen it's like oh man I don't know if anyone else could have played it like that like this is really this is great.

[00:55:22] [SPEAKER_01]: And his character had some depth there because like like we've already said you think he's bad you think he's all bad and then you find out what he's wanting to do.

[00:55:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Which I don't I don't know Levi if you're you watch baseball but I know that pink is a baseball fan.

[00:55:46] [SPEAKER_01]: So the address that's on the is it a dog tag or like a little necklace yeah is 1060 West Addison Chicago Illinois that's actually the address for wriggly field.

[00:56:01] [SPEAKER_05]: I've been there.

[00:56:04] [SPEAKER_05]: My eyebrows would like that.

[00:56:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so yeah I just wanted to bring some attention to Shay Wigham I think he's definitely underrated as an actor and.

[00:56:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I looked at his bio to see if there were any other movies we could do and I think there are a couple that he's in that could fit our.

[00:56:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Our run for your lives were no he's been.

[00:56:29] [SPEAKER_02]: He's fantastic I still don't think this last night.

[00:56:31] [SPEAKER_02]: But I put on take shelter after I want splitter and it was like.

[00:56:39] [SPEAKER_05]: So that brings us to you pink what do you have for us my last little thing again something I think we've talked about a lot but the.

[00:56:46] [SPEAKER_05]: The infection and the monster the subsequent monster we've talked a lot about it but just little things like early on movie again is like, oh Dennis got a splinter don't don't don't don't don't don't don't.

[00:57:01] [SPEAKER_05]: And then the animal that they run over which again like so many facts I was just like.

[00:57:10] [SPEAKER_05]: You know talking about Charles Baker skinny Pete there's like you need to get a attacked by a fuzzy blurry something.

[00:57:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Don't know what that was I still don't think I know what the animal was the entire movie.

[00:57:27] [SPEAKER_02]: He said it was red cool interview that's what he said was.

[00:57:30] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean because I was like it's it's the thing but whatever it is it's dead and also not dead at the same time very undead something was off about it and I kept thinking it was like with like the like splinters is like a parking pine is like no the splinters are either own.

[00:57:53] [SPEAKER_05]: And then yeah the man with spikes from the bathroom that emerged is very with all of his body breaking dance moves.

[00:58:01] [SPEAKER_05]: And there's a lies like it tore right through her and I was like I'll have to take your word for it because I saw was blurs and then she fell on the floor but okay.

[00:58:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah but yeah then we get the cool creepy half hand moving around on its own and then.

[00:58:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah all the fun effects with that kind of the thing as I made that reference and you get you know.

[00:58:24] [SPEAKER_05]: This creature that has formed off of Lacy just jumping and climbing around sling and splinies all over the place.

[00:58:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Ripping coughs and half and then having them stitched themselves back together and all of that's kind of scary stuff but then I was close up a cicada that little monster.

[00:58:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh I knew I knew you were going to bring that up.

[00:58:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah and then again just seeing Dennis slowly being infected and then the parasite getting handsy without his consent at a point.

[00:58:59] [SPEAKER_05]: And then Pauli using the firecrackers and the creature just going all over him like oh pretty.

[00:59:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh my god using the firecrackers fucking baby.

[00:59:11] [SPEAKER_05]: And that was great. The different bodies all fused together at the end literally became the beast with two backs.

[00:59:20] [SPEAKER_05]: And then that thing just coming in there and starts headbanging like a giraffe in a fight.

[00:59:27] [SPEAKER_05]: The hand cracked me up again when it gets shot with the shot the shotgun goes flowing into the fire.

[00:59:36] [SPEAKER_05]: And then yeah then that's still unknown animal at the end.

[00:59:41] [SPEAKER_05]: The very end of the movie right before credit doing its best impression of the album cover of suicide silence this is the cleansing.

[00:59:49] [SPEAKER_05]: That's a very specific reference for people but if you ever look up the cleansing album cover from the band suicide silence that's what that last shot was.

[00:59:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I got to write it.

[01:00:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Cleaning.

[01:00:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Are you done?

[01:00:07] [SPEAKER_05]: I've got to keep on trying to keep us on that because then I mean I've got other.

[01:00:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, if you have a random notes but that's kind of my main point.

[01:00:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah I've got some notes too.

[01:00:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Can I hit your notes? Could I have a fun question for the end for my answer?

[01:00:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay well um I'll talk about gas stations. So gas stations.

[01:00:28] [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to learn some stuff here we go.

[01:00:30] [SPEAKER_01]: No, gas stations in movies have been kind of a thing this is one where most of the movie took place in a gas station there have been other things that have happened in gas stations along the way.

[01:00:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Some of these movies we have covered some we haven't yet.

[01:00:51] [SPEAKER_01]: One is not a horror movie but I wanted to talk about it anyway and it's no country for old men if either of you've ever seen that.

[01:00:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Explosions in the gas station in the birds.

[01:01:02] [SPEAKER_01]: There's a phone booth scene in the movie dual that is outside of gas station.

[01:01:09] [SPEAKER_01]: There is the famous gas station in the hills have eyes.

[01:01:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Deliverance and Texas chains on Masker have the creepy gas station attendance as does the cabin in the woods.

[01:01:25] [SPEAKER_01]: And talk about it.

[01:01:27] [SPEAKER_01]: In talking in the delverses evil was the next one on the list page.

[01:01:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I do not leave them out.

[01:01:34] [SPEAKER_01]: There's a French movie called High Tension that also has some scenes within a convenience store.

[01:01:42] [SPEAKER_01]: And there's another movie called Open 24 hours that is trapped in the gas station premise.

[01:01:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Although I don't think the antagonist is quite as prickly.

[01:01:55] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, so those are the things because there's just some there's a lot more but those are once I'm on to point out because some we've covered.

[01:02:02] [SPEAKER_02]: There's actually a great.

[01:02:04] [SPEAKER_02]: With on gas stations that I was reading where usually at your gas station, that's where the harbinger is placed if you know like so much.

[01:02:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And so in this movie we'd expect that however the harbinger is literally the first one against it over so there's no one to win.

[01:02:20] [SPEAKER_01]: There's a character of what's happening exactly.

[01:02:24] [SPEAKER_01]: So pay what were you gonna say.

[01:02:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh no, I was just taking a second to bask in the fact that you had you set up on with the prickly thing and.

[01:02:33] [SPEAKER_05]: And there's a lot of things that happen very often and I wanted to bask in it just a second be like it happened there's audio evidence and buffalo buffalo is changing her slowly.

[01:02:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Surely we're getting in.

[01:02:50] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I can easily take it out but I was really proud of that one too.

[01:02:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, you as you should be.

[01:02:57] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah.

[01:03:01] [SPEAKER_01]: So that is one part I wanted to talk about awards like.

[01:03:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Splinter one six screen faster words including best editing make up effects special effects directing score and best picture and you know I mean screen fest is pretty cool and.

[01:03:21] [SPEAKER_01]: This movie the way that it was shot and how it had you know it's independent feel to it.

[01:03:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Has a lot of attention that I didn't realize it had until I started doing research and it's cool that a movie like this could.

[01:03:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Despite not being a box office hit have the love that it has online so it's cool.

[01:03:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I this actually I.

[01:03:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I said you guys this special there couple special features there found whatever.

[01:03:56] [SPEAKER_02]: It's been a long while since I've like I want to buy a DVD to get special features like this was one where it's like oh my I was like looking at them and like oh my god, I really want to know.

[01:04:07] [SPEAKER_02]: How they made this I would like more special features on this to I ordered it that's not like looking I was like.

[01:04:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean there's comment there's two commentary tracks of like.

[01:04:16] [SPEAKER_05]: I really want to know like what is this a main reason I buy.

[01:04:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Blue rays physical media for movies now is like if I watch movie and like okay I need the like commentary or deleted scenes or.

[01:04:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Behind the scenes like feature sets of okay here's how we did this these scenes and special effects and right.

[01:04:36] [SPEAKER_05]: And so yeah it's like when I want to dig deep into a movie that bad I'm like that's when I'm adding it to my physical collection.

[01:04:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah and this is one for me where I was just like I need to know more and actually had one that I just had to say off of what I sent you that one little bit where there's a guy that worked on this movie called the wizard which it just.

[01:04:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like I was the wizard that Henderson and I wrote this down I used to serve with degree barays you know they gave me a military skill that was transport for a bullet to civilian life blow and shit.

[01:05:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Awesome.

[01:05:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, John.

[01:05:19] [SPEAKER_02]: But you want that job please and thank you.

[01:05:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah he rigged the whole final explosion there at the gas station all practical.

[01:05:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, especially like this special this is seems like a movie that got it may be not as seen as much but people that see it there's no like this is a piece of shit everybody's like oh my god this is a.

[01:05:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it's like a big legitimately good movie for what this is and yeah.

[01:05:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I would give it an eight out of ten I was thinking about it I think like a solid like oh like I almost would call it a perfect movie besides something but so I just like.

[01:05:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Give it an eight maybe an eight and a half out of ten on this one just like we stopped rating movies on the scale after like first season because they're like.

[01:06:02] [SPEAKER_05]: We the range of stuff we do it's like you can't compare.

[01:06:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean my own personal metric was like what I actually went this and I'm like.

[01:06:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Solid eight eight point five it's like this is yeah.

[01:06:16] [SPEAKER_01]: We can't go back in time and change and upgrade different movies so we just decided that it needed to go and we've evolved over the last.

[01:06:27] [SPEAKER_01]: This is he's an eight basically so yeah we've evolved since then you can't get a new.

[01:06:33] [SPEAKER_02]: You splintered off and that's the only part of this episode back to.

[01:06:43] [SPEAKER_02]: And it was so it are you guys done because I have one question.

[01:06:48] [SPEAKER_05]: I was I was looking if I've got some extra notes not a lot as.

[01:06:52] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if you do hit there.

[01:06:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Potato chips with Charles Baker they're getting this is pretty good I get not wanting to share with the creature.

[01:07:02] [SPEAKER_05]: That's it.

[01:07:03] [SPEAKER_05]: I heartbeeking that he showed up to not just that's why he got the.

[01:07:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, just very different couples at the beginning you know Seth and Pauli that wish they could be outdoors people but they're not.

[01:07:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Especially Seth and then Dennis and Lacey definitely on the run or something and then it's like I don't think pushing a truck 10 feet off the road is going to do much for you but all right.

[01:07:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Unfortunately just never stop for strangers bad move, but now are for together.

[01:07:31] [SPEAKER_05]: And then immediately like I'm picking up on like Lacey looks rough like she's sick or something and then you're like yeah that's with Charles she's.

[01:07:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Anna bad spot.

[01:07:39] [SPEAKER_05]: I did like like I could understand like some people again you mentioned Levi like the realism of like.

[01:07:47] [SPEAKER_05]: No it's not just horrible people are going to do stupid things to push the platform but it's very much these characters live.

[01:07:53] [SPEAKER_05]: And a realm of realism because it's with Pauli and Seth like all of these times that they had an opportunity to get the jump on on Dennis and Lacey you know we have Pauli holding the tire iron or.

[01:08:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Seth with the machete and like the hatchet you know and all these little things and there's moments is like yeah you could.

[01:08:12] [SPEAKER_05]: You know these people that are holding you hostage you could try to do something but then you see them in the end choosing.

[01:08:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Not to because it's mental ideas like because if you fuck up your done for.

[01:08:24] [SPEAKER_05]: And you can have each other in mind because I thoroughly if I was in that situation would believe especially Dennis is going to kill me if I do is like.

[01:08:34] [SPEAKER_05]: I believe it's not just a real deal.

[01:08:34] [SPEAKER_05]: So it's like and the Seth says in the gas station later he's like you know 80% or 90% of hostage situations and find if you just.

[01:08:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Fucking go along with it and don't.

[01:08:46] [SPEAKER_05]: And so they're going into it with that mentality especially Seth and so you're like yeah no I get it.

[01:08:53] [SPEAKER_05]: I would be very you know nervous especially with the whole ginger part where you're like oh she's full blown.

[01:08:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Lost it like this is oh no where she's at gunpoint forcing me to help a very dead animal I don't know what I this is not good.

[01:09:10] [SPEAKER_02]: So my favorite part of the movie the ginger we just like.

[01:09:14] [SPEAKER_02]: And everybody's just like no it's dead like Dennis says before they think it's dangerous dead.

[01:09:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I looking at it and even.

[01:09:23] [SPEAKER_02]: What the fuck is wrong with you can't see.

[01:09:25] [SPEAKER_05]: What made it do.

[01:09:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, he's just waving his arms over like he's trying to magically heal it like.

[01:09:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Like is that working?

[01:09:36] [SPEAKER_05]: No it's not working and so I like that moment with along those lines where.

[01:09:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Dennis goes outside to go to Lacey's body and they're having this whole argument of like lock his ass outside just lock the door.

[01:09:50] [SPEAKER_05]: And it's like he has like a and he'll just shoot the glass out and it's like how many bullets did he shoot can we do and like there's this whole conversation like can we get away with doing that at this moment.

[01:09:59] [SPEAKER_05]: And it's just very real like these people in this moment being like do we do something or just let it play out I don't know.

[01:10:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Like he says first like.

[01:10:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Moment of like stepping up like this is probably like even out there and like then Dennis like this legit point in the glass and said it's like.

[01:10:20] [SPEAKER_02]: We have to let him in like this is we're going to make this worse unless we just fucking yeah, man.

[01:10:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, first.

[01:10:28] [SPEAKER_02]: In moment in the movie.

[01:10:30] [SPEAKER_05]: So that's all the notes that I had there.

[01:10:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[01:10:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean I have like.

[01:10:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to we're not going to eat any olives for this, but I'm just going to go through my list of like what I thought tremors and splitters haven't come in.

[01:10:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And that was as plasgers and triggers infrared peek seeking splinter creature.

[01:10:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Ronda size.

[01:10:53] [SPEAKER_02]: We're using their talents for the field, we're stuck in chains.

[01:10:56] [SPEAKER_02]: We're stuck in a gas station. We're in an isolated location lands creatures are in stingsual and patient.

[01:11:04] [SPEAKER_02]: And then even hydraulic hand puppets behind them, and then of course, the final and best one using a fire thing is extinguished here to hide and then using ice cold ice to hydrangea like I was string to all of you for that.

[01:11:19] [SPEAKER_02]: That was a funny thing there.

[01:11:20] [SPEAKER_05]: That's a finisher.

[01:11:23] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a buffalo.

[01:11:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I buffaloed it at the same.

[01:11:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Boot.

[01:11:27] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a finisher.

[01:11:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I love you, guys.

[01:11:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Just water, but.

[01:11:32] [SPEAKER_02]: But if you're done, I actually have a really interesting question.

[01:11:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh boy, should I be scared?

[01:11:38] [SPEAKER_02]: No, this is really good.

[01:11:39] [SPEAKER_02]: This is one that like, I feel like your show would know how to get.

[01:11:45] [SPEAKER_02]: So, this is a movie that in the world of sequels, remakes and reboots is like kind of

[01:11:52] [SPEAKER_02]: would really love a sequel to this.

[01:11:55] [SPEAKER_02]: So what is your splinters?

[01:11:59] [SPEAKER_02]: If you're like, I assume like split, I made a trilogy with splinter splinters and splinter.

[01:12:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, there is a splinter's movie that came out in 2018, but it has nothing to do with

[01:12:09] [SPEAKER_01]: this.

[01:12:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't care.

[01:12:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I need it to follow up this somehow.

[01:12:16] [SPEAKER_02]: There's a once your splinters movie, how would you take this somewhere in the sequel?

[01:12:24] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I could start.

[01:12:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, sure you have ideas.

[01:12:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, okay, I've got an idea.

[01:12:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I would take it in some sort of camping trip out in the middle of the woods.

[01:12:37] [SPEAKER_01]: It's this cool area.

[01:12:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I mean they were down, I mean that area of where.

[01:12:45] [SPEAKER_01]: They were going to camp.

[01:12:49] [SPEAKER_01]: They could make that, I mean they could explore that maybe having.

[01:12:55] [SPEAKER_02]: There was houses.

[01:12:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I saw mailboxes on the road.

[01:12:58] [SPEAKER_02]: So there's like right.

[01:12:59] [SPEAKER_01]: So I mean it could happen at the campground and then you know, whoever is an infected or dying could

[01:13:07] [SPEAKER_01]: run to a house nearby.

[01:13:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I feel like you would have to keep it in the same area.

[01:13:13] [SPEAKER_01]: But I don't think I would want a sequel at all.

[01:13:18] [SPEAKER_01]: And the reason I don't want a sequel is because I do believe that in some cases, things need to be left alone.

[01:13:26] [SPEAKER_01]: And there is just too much of this rebooting for rebooting sake.

[01:13:32] [SPEAKER_03]: I'll give you that.

[01:13:32] [SPEAKER_01]: In doing something a little fresher with it and wanting to kind of amplify the original movie by creating a sequel.

[01:13:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I can get behind that because I think sometimes some of the movies like this one fall between the cracks and people don't really know about it until years later.

[01:13:55] [SPEAKER_01]: And you know if you can come up with a clever idea to do a sequel.

[01:14:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, but it's got to be a good idea.

[01:14:04] [SPEAKER_01]: It can't be just another gas station or something exactly like that.

[01:14:10] [SPEAKER_01]: It's got to be a different situation.

[01:14:12] [SPEAKER_01]: You could even have it that someone kills one of them or hits one of the car and takes it back and somehow they get infected and they go on like in,

[01:14:23] [SPEAKER_01]: make it put it in a community more.

[01:14:26] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean you could do that or pick what this incredible idea that I don't know the movie might be terrible.

[01:14:34] [SPEAKER_05]: But here's my pitch for it.

[01:14:35] [SPEAKER_05]: I was thinking about it and I like this.

[01:14:38] [SPEAKER_05]: The end of this movie we see that it's still there, but then I don't think that specific creature matters.

[01:14:45] [SPEAKER_05]: But it's still in that forest.

[01:14:47] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm going back to what Levi had said earlier with the oil and it's in this forest.

[01:14:52] [SPEAKER_05]: It's in this area and this oil company has been pulling oil from this area.

[01:14:56] [SPEAKER_05]: So they in the parasite is in the oil.

[01:15:00] [SPEAKER_05]: So they load up a little tanker.

[01:15:02] [SPEAKER_05]: They're oil and they go out on the water and this parasite infects something on this boat.

[01:15:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Destroyed the boat and it crash lands on a little resort island and we have splinter island.

[01:15:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, you.

[01:15:19] [SPEAKER_02]: You've been all over that one.

[01:15:21] [SPEAKER_02]: That doesn't count.

[01:15:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't have fantastic fake.

[01:15:26] [SPEAKER_02]: No, that's good until you said the title that would be.

[01:15:29] [SPEAKER_01]: I really like the idea of it infecting something in the ocean maybe splinter sharks.

[01:15:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean we have cocaine badpick.

[01:15:40] [SPEAKER_01]: We all know what a hit that was.

[01:15:43] [SPEAKER_01]: So is it really?

[01:15:45] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I don't know.

[01:15:47] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean a baragupa.

[01:15:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man.

[01:15:54] [SPEAKER_05]: Now I get it.

[01:15:55] [SPEAKER_01]: So there Levi, I hope that we answered your question.

[01:15:58] [SPEAKER_02]: No, it was I was more just like it exploring ideas might actually I would.

[01:16:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I would put it in an apartment.

[01:16:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Like an apartment complex because what I think this movie does really well is the isolation.

[01:16:11] [SPEAKER_02]: So wherever you take it, you don't want it to like.

[01:16:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm part of the plot, but I think like.

[01:16:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, the campground works to, but just like taking it somewhere which is a few more people to kind of like.

[01:16:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, okay.

[01:16:34] [SPEAKER_02]: The hotel on the island called actually there's a hotel on the island or there's little beach houses.

[01:16:40] [SPEAKER_02]: They resorts and stuff and but just to up that little.

[01:16:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Making the creature bigger almost because that's what was cool about it was when it was like.

[01:16:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Pulling fucking pieces together and becoming a more giant creature and then your goal.

[01:16:55] [SPEAKER_02]: You want your goal to become.

[01:16:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we have to stop this from going on.

[01:16:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, what's that?

[01:17:00] [SPEAKER_05]: I think it's all the cabana boys in one.

[01:17:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my god.

[01:17:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.

[01:17:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, my god.

[01:17:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Why is it still sexy?

[01:17:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man.

[01:17:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.

[01:17:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I just thought like an interesting question to sort of wrap these up just like that's a horror podcast or where are

[01:17:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Seagulls are just a diamond doesn't but I agree with that it happened.

[01:17:26] [SPEAKER_02]: It got to be a good story to bring through this or open no one and.

[01:17:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And wanted to become a series and it's where it's like, you know, just like.

[01:17:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Right, not just to reboot, not just to redo, not just to remake.

[01:17:39] [SPEAKER_01]: It just and I wouldn't want to see a remake at all honestly.

[01:17:44] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[01:17:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that some of these indie type films need to be cherished and not exploited, I guess.

[01:17:53] [SPEAKER_01]: For a money grab, I think they need to be celebrated.

[01:17:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Why would you make another one when this one is so good already?

[01:18:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, like the American film, trying to be a son that still hasn't happened to Fischerly like.

[01:18:05] [SPEAKER_05]: You know, it's like why, right, it only on exist and it's fine even alone.

[01:18:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you don't like subtitles with so much about watch them.

[01:18:14] [SPEAKER_01]: That's our stance on that too.

[01:18:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Be firmly stand by reading subtitles and practice in practice.

[01:18:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, those are our things.

[01:18:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Those are Dale breakers.

[01:18:26] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what people.

[01:18:28] [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, that's I would agree with both the on that I like that just had to ask a phone.

[01:18:33] [SPEAKER_02]: It seemed like a movie rife for sequels.

[01:18:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Kind of just like, oh, why not like right there just that little bit of extra love.

[01:18:41] [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, this has been 2008 splinter and he would else do me do I did really good keeping you guys on track here.

[01:18:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, me right now.

[01:18:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to wear this hat because of how proud I am.

[01:18:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, doesn't fit over my fucking headphones.

[01:18:56] [SPEAKER_05]: No, I learned I get well, at least with audio only podcast.

[01:19:00] [SPEAKER_05]: It doesn't matter as much by learned on a recent buffalo buffalo that yeah, I had like a whole hood and like cloak on and it doesn't work with the headphones because

[01:19:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Like I said, it's like the headphones go over the hood and then it just kind of like holds the hood to my face and it looks weird.

[01:19:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Or if I put the hood on over the headphones, then it looks like some kind of like nonsavit or queen on a dollar headpiece and it's like no.

[01:19:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I still wonder what you were eating in this stuff.

[01:19:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I have what it is.

[01:19:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm with Daphne.

[01:19:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Daphne, do I?

[01:19:30] [SPEAKER_05]: I think that fourth one sure.

[01:19:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh no, because it's just a visual gag that's not good for anybody listening.

[01:19:37] [SPEAKER_05]: I literally just had a jar of marshmallow fluff that I was just feeding by the spoon.

[01:19:43] [SPEAKER_01]: It was driving me crazy.

[01:19:47] [SPEAKER_01]: What was that?

[01:19:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Again, when it when it's Jeff and Jerry and Pike when they're all three together,

[01:19:57] [SPEAKER_01]: they're the punishers.

[01:20:05] [SPEAKER_01]: The punishers, it can be a lot to take.

[01:20:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I do feel though that if I was going to have a good time at anything, it's with them.

[01:20:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I've never hung out with Jerry like individually, but like I've hung out with Jeff and

[01:20:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Harrison.

[01:20:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I've hung out with Paganperson.

[01:20:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I've always had like the best times.

[01:20:27] [SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like this is like going to be like the best time or the three of them.

[01:20:35] [SPEAKER_05]: And I think we already, I think today we decided in a little text thread with Jeff and Jerry what

[01:20:39] [SPEAKER_05]: are next for next season or whatever our movie would them to as guests to get this going

[01:20:45] [SPEAKER_05]: to be for next season.

[01:20:47] [SPEAKER_05]: So how'd we find it?

[01:20:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I have wonder if Levi has even heard of it.

[01:20:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[01:20:53] [SPEAKER_02]: My goal now is to be your person that's on the most episodes.

[01:20:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I've got two episodes so far.

[01:20:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I need to get on some more episodes.

[01:21:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Who's on the most?

[01:21:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Is it Ben?

[01:21:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Who else, like I say who holds that?

[01:21:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Is it Ben or Rima?

[01:21:08] [SPEAKER_05]: I think Ben and Rima have both done the same.

[01:21:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.

[01:21:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[01:21:12] [SPEAKER_01]: And Mark will be three when we do.

[01:21:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Godzilla minus one.

[01:21:19] [SPEAKER_05]: So.

[01:21:20] [SPEAKER_05]: And then Mark and Ben, I think we're in talks have both of them on.

[01:21:24] [SPEAKER_01]: For Godzilla versus God.

[01:21:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh God.

[01:21:26] [SPEAKER_01]: No, I give me con the new empire featuring Godzilla.

[01:21:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Hi, yeah.

[01:21:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, yeah.

[01:21:34] [SPEAKER_01]: That's what it is.

[01:21:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, then I guess they would be like four or something.

[01:21:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.

[01:21:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:21:40] [SPEAKER_01]: You better get on that.

[01:21:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I'm two and a half.

[01:21:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Like you guys talked about me so much on that last trimmer's episode that I was like

[01:21:47] [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like that's what we had fun talking about trimmer's.

[01:21:50] [SPEAKER_01]: The reasons that we talked about like it was great to be able to revisit it, having the format that we have now.

[01:21:59] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just great to be able to do that and give it what it deserves because that was our first episode.

[01:22:05] [SPEAKER_01]: We've just gotten.

[01:22:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we have our format down.

[01:22:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Then before I'll say it again, I just love your guys as vibe and everything you do.

[01:22:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm listening here all the way through you've always been great.

[01:22:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I disagree, but everybody has to come up with the beginning of it.

[01:22:21] [SPEAKER_02]: You guys had your friendship down from the start.

[01:22:25] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a whole thing.

[01:22:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.

[01:22:30] [SPEAKER_05]: You got the feedback phone going off.

[01:22:35] [SPEAKER_05]: You have to check if that's what they have to say.

[01:22:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:22:41] [SPEAKER_05]: All right.

[01:22:42] [SPEAKER_05]: We do have a little bit of feedback this week for this one.

[01:22:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Got a couple of pieces here, which is always good to hear from some people.

[01:22:50] [SPEAKER_05]: So definitely go ahead and take that first one.

[01:22:52] [SPEAKER_01]: So Catherine says the broken hand effects last week were great, but this week's got the Adam's family hand was amazing.

[01:23:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I quickly thought this was ripping off the fungus in the last of us or girl with all the gifts.

[01:23:06] [SPEAKER_01]: But I was surprised to find that splinter came out first.

[01:23:10] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure if it was supposed to be a horror comedy, but I had some great laughs, especially with the writing.

[01:23:17] [SPEAKER_01]: It's okay we're cutting your arm off looking forward to this week's guest episode.

[01:23:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Thanks Catherine, hope you enjoyed it.

[01:23:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Now that you've listened to it, let us know.

[01:23:27] [SPEAKER_05]: But I was following.

[01:23:28] [SPEAKER_05]: And then we have another little piece of feedback here from Garrett who simply says,

[01:23:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Good movie, very underrated.

[01:23:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.

[01:23:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.

[01:23:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Accurate.

[01:23:38] [SPEAKER_05]: True.

[01:23:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.

[01:23:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, if you'd like to submit feedback like Catherine or Garrett, you can find us on Facebook and Instagram at runfierliespodcast.

[01:23:48] [SPEAKER_01]: You can email us runfierliespodcast.gmail.com.

[01:23:52] [SPEAKER_01]: If you're enjoying the show, tell your friends we are available on all the podcast players,

[01:23:57] [SPEAKER_01]: including Apple Spotify and YouTube.

[01:24:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Go to runfierliespodcast.com for all the links that you'll ever need.

[01:24:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Give us a review on Apple podcasts.

[01:24:07] [SPEAKER_01]: That's the best way to share the love and get us out there even more.

[01:24:10] [SPEAKER_01]: We really appreciate it.

[01:24:12] [SPEAKER_05]: We do indeed, absolutely.

[01:24:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Of course, speaking of sharing a love, got to give those shoutouts to things going on in the podcast of a universe around us.

[01:24:20] [SPEAKER_05]: A lot of fun stuff going on.

[01:24:22] [SPEAKER_05]: The cast of us, still doing their walking dead rewatch, but getting ready for Darrell Dixon, the book of Carol,

[01:24:28] [SPEAKER_05]: the season two thing coming out very soon.

[01:24:31] [SPEAKER_05]: There we got about to do like a season one recap episode very soon as well.

[01:24:35] [SPEAKER_05]: I think they're recording that tonight as I'm talking right now.

[01:24:39] [SPEAKER_05]: I think they recorded today, so maybe as you're hearing this, it might be up.

[01:24:43] [SPEAKER_05]: So you may be able to go over the cast of us and check out the Darrell Dixon kind of season one recap,

[01:24:48] [SPEAKER_05]: and then get ready for season two.

[01:24:50] [SPEAKER_05]: But then they're also doing the rewatch.

[01:24:51] [SPEAKER_05]: So this past week, they had Lucy's partner Peter on to join them Jason Lucy to talk about one of the most iconic and well known episodes of the walking dead,

[01:25:02] [SPEAKER_05]: which is of course season three episode 12 clear.

[01:25:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that episode when it came out I remember.

[01:25:08] [SPEAKER_01]: It was so talked about.

[01:25:10] [SPEAKER_05]: Mm-hmm. So big one. So yeah, definitely go check out that on the rewatch and get ready for Darrell Dixon.

[01:25:16] [SPEAKER_05]: And then on the Marvel TV cast, they've got some fun stuff going on.

[01:25:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Jason and Kirk got together to finally cover all of their thoughts on dead pull and Wolverine.

[01:25:25] [SPEAKER_05]: So if you're curious for the podcast to take on that one,

[01:25:28] [SPEAKER_05]: definitely go check out their conversation.

[01:25:29] [SPEAKER_05]: And then pretty soon, they should be recording.

[01:25:33] [SPEAKER_05]: You know on Disney Plus this week, Agatha all along dropped the first two episodes of this limited series.

[01:25:40] [SPEAKER_05]: And so they will be covering those first two episodes this week.

[01:25:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Definitely check back on their Marvel TV cast to get those soon.

[01:25:47] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm excited about that.

[01:25:49] [SPEAKER_05]: The show podcast all that because man, that show was very good.

[01:25:53] [SPEAKER_05]: It's one of those Marvel series I've known was coming,

[01:25:56] [SPEAKER_05]: but didn't really have any expectations for. I really enjoyed one division,

[01:26:00] [SPEAKER_05]: but I had no idea where they're going to go with this.

[01:26:03] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't watch trailers. I don't watch all the stuff.

[01:26:05] [SPEAKER_05]: So I really tried to avoid everything.

[01:26:07] [SPEAKER_05]: So just jumping and blind and watching these first two episodes.

[01:26:10] [SPEAKER_05]: Honestly, I was blown away with how good they were.

[01:26:12] [SPEAKER_05]: And I'm super invested and I'm super excited to see where this series goes because it was a lot of fun.

[01:26:16] [SPEAKER_05]: And Catherine Han is just fantastic all the time forever.

[01:26:20] [SPEAKER_05]: I love her so much. So good to see her.

[01:26:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Plus some other great faces.

[01:26:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Making their way into this series. So check that out.

[01:26:29] [SPEAKER_01]: I heard about one in particular that I'm super excited to melt.

[01:26:32] [SPEAKER_01]: So we checking it out.

[01:26:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. Also make sure to go check out what is from cast as season three of from over on MGM plus is just around the corner.

[01:26:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Also starting up soon, I'm excited for that one as well to come back.

[01:26:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Great show.

[01:26:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Alex and Lizie been doing an incredible job covering that,

[01:26:49] [SPEAKER_05]: recovering that and doing interviews with everybody.

[01:26:51] [SPEAKER_05]: So of course they have a preview break down for season three with Bob Mann who was in the show.

[01:26:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Of course coming back onto the show to talk about that with them.

[01:27:02] [SPEAKER_05]: Plus I think it's on the YouTube.

[01:27:04] [SPEAKER_01]: It is.

[01:27:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they post on their YouTube channel the video.

[01:27:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, you go check that.

[01:27:10] [SPEAKER_05]: They've been doing interviews again with so much of the cast including like Harold Perino and all of the so just all like the major cast members.

[01:27:19] [SPEAKER_05]: They've got an interviews with and to amp it up and getting ready for this season.

[01:27:23] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm so excited.

[01:27:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Watch from again, it's the little show that could right? The best show that nobody's watching and

[01:27:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[01:27:31] [SPEAKER_05]: And more people are getting on it.

[01:27:32] [SPEAKER_05]: I've noticed an uptick in and people talking about it.

[01:27:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:27:36] [SPEAKER_05]: To where not work, I've had some people be like, Oh my god,

[01:27:39] [SPEAKER_05]: I just found it started watching this new show from and there's already like two seasons.

[01:27:42] [SPEAKER_05]: I was like, Yes.

[01:27:43] [SPEAKER_05]: No, I know.

[01:27:44] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm anxiously waiting this next season.

[01:27:46] [SPEAKER_05]: I've seen it.

[01:27:47] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm ready.

[01:27:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, coming back.
