[00:00:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey everyone, welcome to the show. I'm Daphne. And I'm Pake. And this is The Run for Your Lives Podcast.

[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And this week we are talking about the disaster film Twisters, directed by Lee Isaac Chung and

[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_04]: he's July 19th, 20, 24. That's right. Newer one, just this summer.

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it came out on my birthday. I was so excited. And then you didn't go see it in theaters anyway.

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_01]: No, that's so bad. We were just talking before we started recording. And after watching it,

[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I wish I had gone to the theaters to see it because it would have been so impactful.

[00:01:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it was just a fun. It was a fun theater movie, for sure.

[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I should have gone. I really, yeah, I really should have gone.

[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't, and now I'm kicking myself. But because it's out on streaming, we can cover it on Run for

[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Live. So I'm super excited about being able to cover it, especially because I did see the original

[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_01]: and theaters. Did you go pick a wait? Yes, I did. I was there. And age four.

[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Went on my own after work. You know, oh, so your dad had you off to work at an early age. Of course.

[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I have some questions after watching this movie. We may end up talking a little bit

[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_01]: about your dad about one or two of the one specific thing that happened or in this,

[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_01]: but I have to ask you before we kick things off. Do you get for freaked out watching movies

[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_01]: about tornadoes knowing that one could strike where you live at any time?

[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_04]: No, not really. It's because there's such just a normal part of life here when especially

[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_04]: in, you know, storm season. It is it's just like, and it is, it's like that. I mean,

[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_04]: there's parts of the year where I mean we had it 2024 was an insane storm season where it really was

[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_04]: like that. We're like every day. There's another one just like somewhere else nearby. It's just like,

[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_04]: it's time for our daily tornado. You just kind of get used to it. I don't know.

[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it doesn't bother me as much. Honestly, watching this movie and then this movie,

[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I will talk plenty about this has sent me on a rabbit hole to a new fascination and fandom of

[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_04]: actual real-life storm chasers that I sent seeing this in theaters. I've been keeping up with

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_04]: and watching and I don't know, watching the live streams of the chasers and this movie and seeing

[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_04]: like it actually helps alleviate fear, which sounds weird. Especially this movie, like it's over

[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_04]: fantasize. I mean, yeah, tornadoes are absolutely deadly and dangerous and you know, you've got to

[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_04]: use the, you know, safety and stuff around them. But, you know, for a tornado movie,

[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_04]: you've got to up the ante a little bit and make it a lot more dramatic than it really can be. I mean,

[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_04]: it can be awful when they hit, you know, a popular populated areas and stuff like

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Elrino at the end of this movie and yeah, destruction and stuff like that is 100% real

[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_04]: and happens. But just the way that storm systems work in the kind of landscape of most of the places

[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_04]: they hit, your vast majority of tornadoes are going to be happening in more rural areas and open

[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_04]: fields and places away from population centers. And that's what you see a lot of the chasers kind

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_04]: of and back roads and dirt roads and fields chasing after them. That's where a lot of it's going

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_04]: to happen. But now you do have to be prepared for, for when when cities and towns and popular,

[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_04]: popular, popular, late areas are in the path of destruction. It happens and that is scary. I mean,

[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_04]: but we've all living here literally since being a little tiny kid like we're taught like tornado

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_04]: safety and tornado drills and all that kind of stuff. So you know what to do. Well, I have a

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_01]: glad that it doesn't terrify you because there are always movies like this that I'd love to cover.

[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_01]: There's one called Into the Storm that this movie reminded me of a couple of things. I was like,

[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_04]: oh yeah, they did that. Yeah. In fact, it's more just, I have a fascination with it because it's

[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_04]: a part of life, and especially with this. You know, I mean, there've been times where we're recording

[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_04]: this podcast where those alarms and stuff have gone off. And I'm like, I gotta take a break real quick

[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_04]: and just check stuff. And I think it was, we were just about to record. I think it was when we

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_04]: did Jaws 2 or maybe it was Meg 2, one of those with one of, with Reno. Reno with us.

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, we were literally about to start recording. And I was like, hang on. Let's take a break

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_04]: real quick. And then I, you know, a few minutes went by and then I sent you and Rima a picture

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_04]: from my phone that I took of the tornado down the street. You can see the funnel coming down

[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_04]: through the clouds. It's like it's there's literally a tornado right down the street. I'm watching.

[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm standing outside watching it. So like, yeah, it's just part of it. It's, you know what?

[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_01]: It just took its place in traffic. Continue to go down the road. I wonder if it knows how to

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_01]: wear a little park. Probably nobody does. I've been there and yeah, I've never, yeah, that was never

[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_01]: anything I had to pay attention to. Well, we'll move on and jump into covering this film with

[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_01]: a few of our production notes was filmed in Oklahoma City, El Reno and Yukon Oklahoma.

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Was a stand alone sequel to Twister and released 28 years after the original film.

[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I can't believe it's been that long. Like that long. Lee Isaac Chon? He's pretty popular.

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_01]: He actually directed the Oscar-nominated Manari, which is such an incredible film.

[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_01]: For him to go from that to this, I'm just like, wow. He pulled, you know, he pulled this off

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_04]: really well. I thought so. Yeah, I think that was, I know people who who were really excited me included,

[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I guess to it, instead, I was going to go see this anyway. But what people who aren't usually as much

[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_04]: into the disaster movies and action movies were like, but it's, it's Lee Isaac Chon. So I want to

[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_04]: see what he does with this genre in this story. So there were, I do know of people who saw it in

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_04]: theaters because of the director and curious to see his take on it. Oh yeah, definitely. I think

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_01]: it really shows that he can do a variety of things. And so I want to see more. I want to see more

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_01]: in this in this world, in the run for your lives world. Doesn't have to be disaster, it could

[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_01]: be something else that fits. I want to see more of him for sure. Yeah. The budget was between 150

[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_01]: and 200 million depending on who you ask. It grows 351.4 million at the box office. So 122

[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_01]: minutes long. Take, give us that synopsis. Kate Carter, a retired tornado chaser and meteorologist

[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_04]: persuaded to return to Oklahoma to work with a new team and new technologies. Yes, okay. Well,

[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that represents it. Well, this movie had a decent cast. I think. Absolutely. Some of the

[00:08:34] [SPEAKER_01]: cast that I was looking forward to seeing didn't make it very long in the movie. But then there were

[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_01]: others that popped up that it was just really cool to see. It wasn't like they were all these huge

[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_01]: names. It was just that there were a lot of good names. Yeah, I feel like people that I've seen

[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_01]: in other things. And so it was great to see them all together in this movie. Yeah. Yeah, I was

[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I was honestly surprised. So I'll talk about just to that point that I was curious to see how

[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_04]: this movie would go, right? Like I was going to go see it anyway because I mean, I knew we were

[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_04]: going to cover it. And then of course, you know, the nostalgia of like, oh, Twitter was so good.

[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_04]: What can they do with with a new version and updated one is it going to be as good?

[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And honestly, I really loved it. It was, it was a surprise that I loved it as much as I did, but it was

[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_04]: really, really good. I think maybe it was the nostalgia mixed with like the updated

[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_04]: technology and science and kind of culture around storm chasing and Twitter, but it made me

[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_04]: interested for sure to really dive into this stuff. But just it itself is as a movie. I was like,

[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't expect it to be that good. It was like I figured it'd be like, oh, from the

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll just say, and I like left that theater going like, holy shit. That was phenomenal. I think I love

[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_01]: this movie. Yeah, I really liked it too. I was hoping for the best. I wasn't sure what we were

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_01]: going to get. Sometimes these post, you know, decades sequels that come out are good. And sometimes

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_01]: they're terrible and I was really concerned as to what we were going to get. And then they were a

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_01]: bunch of like rumors in the background of, oh, they're bringing back Joe. She's going to be in this one.

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, they're not bringing her back because of course Bill Paxton passed away. And so there was

[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_01]: no way that his character would be able to like reappear. There was talk that the main character

[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_01]: would be the daughter of Joe. But I like the way it turned out where it really is standalone.

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_04]: It isn't really connected. Yeah, there's no connection to the first one other than early on in the

[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_04]: movie. They have, you know, Kate and her friends have somehow acquired the Dorothy system that they use

[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_01]: that's the only thing they have that. Yeah, I appreciated it. I didn't need for the same story to be

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_01]: retold. This had some things in it that paid homage, I think, to the original. But there were a lot of

[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_01]: things that were very distinct just for this film. And I liked it a lot. Yeah. And maybe what it was

[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_04]: is the Storm Chaser element. This was a movie for them about them. I mean, Twitter, the original one

[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_04]: also was as far as the fact that your main group of characters were a team of Storm Chasers.

[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. But like this movie did more. It took that idea and like really

[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_04]: dug into the personalities and the culture and the science and reasoning behind why people are Storm

[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Chasers. The kind of personalities that I would say hobby, but no job. These people will have

[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_04]: full-time jobs. Yes. There are professional Storm Chasers and the importance of what they do

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_04]: and how it can be used to make changes. Scientifically culturally, to early warning systems,

[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_04]: all of these things that that job has really made a huge change in in people's lives over the years.

[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. I like that it shined the lens on it too. I think that often we see news reports on TV and

[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_01]: it shows you, well this is happening and there are tornadoes here and you don't always think about

[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_01]: the people that are on the ground doing the work and the research to help with the warning system,

[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_01]: to help with studying the science of the tornado. What it can do, you don't always think about

[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_01]: it. You see the destruction. That's a big focus point but to get this lens on Storm Chasers

[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_04]: in this way, I really liked. Yeah. I was aware of Storm Chasers. I mean, again being here in

[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Texas and like this area, there are Storm Chasers who said I had a friend who was a Storm Chaser

[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_04]: unfortunately passed away years ago unrelated to Storm Chasing but just remember talking with

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_04]: him at times about why do you do that? Why do you get out of you know just the adrenaline

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_04]: and he was such a, and he was such a like a live personality. It was really cool and so knowing

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_04]: about that and then seeing the way it was portrayed in this movie, it really did like I left the theater

[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_04]: went like got on my phone Google like who are the top people I need to be checking out

[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_04]: and then went home and spent the next four hours just on a rabbit hole of stuff and so I'm

[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_04]: going to talk about that a little bit um full like transparency I actually tried to reach out to

[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_04]: get an interview or something on this podcast and I haven't heard back yet so I was like how

[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_04]: much done want to talk about because if we get a chance to I'd actually rather hear it from him

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_04]: but it might not work out so I'm going to talk about a lot of stuff and then maybe edit stuff

[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_04]: around or people will be like oh we heard this before but now you can hear it from from them

[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_04]: uh well I don't know we'll see no promises but trying to see what I can do but I found this guy

[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_04]: by the name of Reed Temmer who um basically well not like 100% confirmed

[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah he is the real life stormchaser personality in a way that that Glen Powell's character of

[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Tyler Owens is loosely based on um because he's very similar and a lot of those ways he's not like

[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_04]: a like super cowboy country guy with a truck like but that like energy and like child like just like

[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_04]: screaming in the air like oh my god here we go that's definitely him and he live streams all of

[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_04]: his chases and all of those who I've gone out and watched streams and he does all kinds of

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_04]: really cool videos and puts things together and it's just incredibly just like amazing and

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_04]: incredible and enthralling to watch what he does um and so going to his YouTube I was going to

[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_04]: break down some stuff and like no I want people to go watch his stuff and hear it from him but

[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_04]: over on his YouTube channel just search Reed Temmer meteorologist or whatever you'll find his stuff

[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_04]: but he's got a YouTube video that came out after this movie that I watched it that night when I

[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_04]: came home where he kind of talks the facts and fiction and breaks things down uh about like

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_04]: the reality of stuff versus kind of movie magic and movie myth um so you know give some hints of

[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_04]: some stuff he talks about but to actually hear a lot of it you gotta go to him uh but some of those

[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_04]: the twin tornadoes I will give you like he's so it's like they don't separate like that twin tornadoes

[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_04]: happen but like that was kind of you know the way that those worked not quite because they have to

[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_04]: be the part of the same storm system and stuff but then other stuff that he talks about his uh

[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_04]: own personal times of using rockets on tornadoes that is something he does and has done

[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_04]: um let's see uh the truth of the safety of an overpass which we will also talk about I'm sure

[00:16:57] [SPEAKER_04]: his own vehicle that he drives directly into tornadoes and parks right under there he's got something

[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_04]: called the dominator it is a six the a six ton vehicle 12,000 pounds and unlike the augurs

[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_04]: he has these like like kind of like the spikes that were on the the par systems that jacombe into

[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_04]: ground those like yeah pressure and those like hydraulic spikes like it's more those and it's also

[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_04]: like flush to the ground he can like drop it to where there's like no wind they can get under it and

[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_04]: lift it and he'll just sit there and let one go over him or go into the center of it I've watched

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_04]: streams and videos have been doing these games. Oh my gosh! Saying it! Talks about like storm

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_04]: chasers and streaming the chasers and kind of their personalities and all of the kind of stereotypes

[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_04]: what's real I want to say what isn't they they nailed it pretty much in this video a lot of these

[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_04]: people really are like that and gathering and gas station parking lots and yeah all of that uh

[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_04]: this it talks about fire natives talks about uh his ideas and thoughts about disrupting and stopping

[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_04]: tornadoes like they doing this movie a lot of really cool stuff to check out and he's also got a

[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_04]: series he's doing right now on there called twisters iRL where he's putting together

[00:18:13] [SPEAKER_04]: compilations and footage of stuff of like their actual like running around through Oklahoma this past year

[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_04]: with the just storm after storm after storm after storm it really was like this movie

[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_04]: was just unprecedented every day this year and so that's been really cool to watch is like he's

[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_04]: put together a lot of things of just him and some of his other chasers in the team and around him

[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_01]: doing what they did in this movie and it's really cool. That is cool! I can't imagine to me it seems terrifying

[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_01]: to be out there and in the middle of everything just risking your life almost I mean really no

[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_01]: not almost risking your life. Yeah absolutely like it just seems crazy but you know what everyone

[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_01]: has something that they love to do and for some people it's something that's a lot more adrenaline

[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_01]: involved versus me being a photographer and doing stuff like that you know our podcaster it yeah

[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_04]: that's something interesting. I've got other notes of him like thrown in stuff so I'm trying to get

[00:19:22] [SPEAKER_04]: like so I'm not just like also with read because I'm saying it's a fanboy right now but

[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_04]: get it out of the way. You really? Oh let's see where else I had something uh oh about Ben the

[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_04]: journalist writing along after this movie again a read put it put out something he's just like yeah

[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll take a journalist one we could do that um I don't know. Hey how do you feel do you want to go

[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_04]: along? So actually I have a note I said I would be lying if I didn't say I'm a little jealous

[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I actually think I'd love to do it especially the more that I watched team dominator online

[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_04]: and stuff that they don't like I actually really wish I could go on a chase with them I think

[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_04]: it would be really fun. I would trust myself in the hands of professionals like I would I think

[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_04]: watching of his stuff I'm like I'm not the one in controls like if I'm just in the back seat

[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_04]: and let him do his thing I think I think I would trust him to have me along if it every I was like

[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it would be really fun. I'd like to do it. Yeah I can see where it would be.

[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah I don't think I'd want to do it. I'm not driving myself in the middle of a tornado

[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_04]: bit if but if somebody like him is behind the wheel sure let's do it. Well we have started

[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_01]: this podcast in a way that we never start our podcast we just basically going through a bunch of

[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_01]: up before we start talking about character but I think it's fine because there's a lot that

[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_01]: goes on with this and so one more thing I want to add before we start going through characters is

[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_01]: I want to talk um I got a couple of notes about the visual effects that we see that I kind of

[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_01]: would like to share at the top and then we'll start with characters. So um they created the tornadoes

[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_01]: using some visual effects reference you know footage from Supercell a whole bunch of little things

[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_01]: real tornadoes that were shot by technical consultants including Stolum Chaser Sean Casey

[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_01]: they had windfans running at about 70 miles per hour to jet engines operating further away from the

[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_01]: pressure pneumatic water cannons and polyacrylamide for hail. So they put the actors through it.

[00:21:49] [SPEAKER_01]: They did it made me think a little bit of society this snow where they had the actors in there

[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_01]: jerking everything around I'm like oh they were throwing everything at them um industrial light

[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_01]: magic did the effects for this um the director said that the most challenging part about making it

[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_01]: was the balancing of the tone because he wanted to make sure audiences were entertained while also

[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_04]: taken natural disaster seriously. Yeah yeah and I think that balance was done really well because

[00:22:24] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah again just a note that I can go ahead and and read because I was like you know between Tyler

[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_04]: and Kate and honestly this movie and then even real stormchacers that I've watched and stuff

[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_04]: they are incredible of what they do in the way that they manage to make tornadoes seem

[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_04]: beautiful like yes they're still deadly dangerous horrifying but this I spot I love

[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_04]: when they're going after the twin tornadoes and Kate and it cuts back and forth between Kate and Tyler

[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_04]: explaining that scene is one of my favorites because it's like yeah it's the science and mystery all

[00:23:01] [SPEAKER_04]: wrapped into one that makes it like truly magnificent and just like something that really just

[00:23:07] [SPEAKER_04]: gets into your head and you're like I just enthralled and fascinated by it all. It is fascinating though

[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_01]: one of the other things that they did is they shot it on code act 35 millimeter film

[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_01]: which is kind of you know it honors the original movie they wanted to capture the same natural

[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_01]: colors and vibrancy of the scenery and what they brought to life. There's so many other things

[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_01]: but I feel like we need to jump in and start talking about the characters or we're just going

[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_01]: to skip over characters for this one and we're just gonna talk about everything we're not even

[00:23:51] [SPEAKER_01]: talking about the movie really we're just talking about the twisters which they never say twister

[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_01]: or twisters in this movie it's always tornado. So let's talk about the characters or we'll just

[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_01]: give up and not talk about them at all and just continue to talk and nerd out about tornadoes.

[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm good with either way. I knew you would be but I feel like we have to get on board

[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_01]: got a steer back. This isn't Buffalo Buffalo. Yeah so we do.

[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_04]: All right so yeah I think obviously the place to start is Kate. Yes. Who we start with who we

[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_04]: end with. This synopsis was about her. So yeah in the opening as we get with her we have her and

[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_04]: her friends mentioned they have Dorothy but then they've also come up with their own little system

[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_04]: and he says diaper to pull the moisture out to try to destroy and disrupt a tornado. This is

[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_04]: this experiment and this idea that Kate has she's trying to get a grant for Dorothy's there to

[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_04]: kind of monitor how and if that works. Has those sensors up in there so you're taking the old

[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_04]: technology mixing it with the new kind of what this movie does in general which is cool. Yeah.

[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Of course the tornado that they ended up dealing with was not what they were expecting.

[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_04]: They're like for this look experiment there's like we need an EF-01. That's about it

[00:25:27] [SPEAKER_04]: and they come up with an EF-5 instead of course EF or the enhanced Fujita scale of tornadoes

[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_04]: is based on and it's where because even like Tyler has things like it's not about speed or size

[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_04]: and I was like well it it is about wind speed as far as how you kind of mark them as it's happening

[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_04]: but he's also true that like the really like the wind speed is kind of how you can tell as it's

[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_04]: happening like oh this is going to be EF whatever but the main way of rating that scale is the

[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_04]: destruction caused so yes that and it's true as well yeah they're hoping for something small

[00:25:59] [SPEAKER_04]: and yeah instead wound up with face to face with something much more massive and deadly than they

[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_04]: were expecting a car gets stalled and so they have to choose to stay there or head to an overpass

[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_04]: the car would definitely be destroyed so like you got to go with the alternative which as

[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Kate mentions is still a really bad idea uh it's just the best they have um

[00:26:24] [SPEAKER_04]: which impossible options really yeah between in the past 28 years since Twister came out and Twisters

[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_04]: like because I can't it's been a little bit since I watched that but there's like a whole overpass

[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_04]: things like we're safe there and it's like as time has gone on it's like actually overpasses are more

[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_04]: dangerous because they act as a wind tunnel that increases the speed of the wind ripping through it

[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_04]: to making it even deadlier with debris and things it's something called the Bernoulli effect

[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_01]: gonna I'm gonna file that away my hand because that's gonna come up at trivia someday and I'll

[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_04]: all know it yeah I mean they had the right idea with what they had trying to wedge themselves up

[00:27:06] [SPEAKER_04]: the top that would be the best idea still ended tragically uh which I remember the first time

[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_04]: watching this in theaters was like I figured one person on the team was gonna die I didn't expect

[00:27:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Kate to be the sole survivor of the overpass and have you her friend hobby wasn't even like yeah

[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_01]: on site he was on the computer right because Dorothy took flight he was tracking the data

[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_01]: but she and her boyfriend jab and her other two friends we're not as lucky Kate got seriously hurt

[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_01]: and unfortunately she didn't see pervign it sucked up but we get to see it we get to see him pulled in

[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_01]: and then atty unfortunately she tries to save atty but it atty just gets pulled away and then

[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_01]: jab pushes her deep into and just like puts her in a position so that she has the best chance

[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_01]: of survival but then he's holding her in the next second he's gone and I just put myself in

[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_01]: that situation and was just like how do you feel when your friends are ripped away from you

[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_01]: basically people that you love and care about are just they're gone you probably never found their

[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_01]: bodies like they're just gone and you see a completely different person five years later yeah she's

[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_04]: taken off from Oklahoma she's taken off to New York she's working at the National Weather Service there

[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_04]: a lot less tornado trauma in New York yeah well she's I mean kind of like this tornado whisper

[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_04]: she's really good at you know watching and monitoring storm systems and being able to predict what's

[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_04]: gonna happen just by kind of looking at things it's real storm chasers again they're going to

[00:29:00] [SPEAKER_04]: that thing that's what they do is they look at the weather maps and they go we need to be in this

[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_04]: state in this city area at this time like they can market and stuff be like here's how things are

[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_04]: going that's where we're going um so she's able to really predict and and mark what places are under the

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_04]: most uh danger of tornadoes uh while she's there her old friend hobby tracks her down he's got a

[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_04]: proposition of his own uh he's I was like working with no he's running he owns this company he

[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_04]: has started uh storm par which this is company using the military scanners that he worked with

[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_04]: and the way that he talks about it which I mean he's not wrong it is a part of what he's doing

[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_04]: is using these scanners to get tornado data and help with early detection warning systems all

[00:29:51] [SPEAKER_04]: that stuff that they've been working on but then there might be some other stuff going on behind the scenes

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_01]: uh yeah I kind of noticed that early on it was like is this something uh I'm not sure it's good

[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_04]: like yeah but he he needs someone as talented as Kate with chasing to help

[00:30:16] [SPEAKER_04]: ghost hers like you're gonna be the one that's gonna get us get this done as quick as possible

[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_04]: we can get what we need um and it takes a little bit of convincing but she does go along

[00:30:29] [SPEAKER_04]: come maybe think of windle and wild you know a little bit when uh when cat drives back in

[00:30:34] [SPEAKER_04]: town she's looking at the guardrail where the accident happened it's like the same thing like they're

[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_04]: driving back into town into Oklahoma and it's like under the overpass and she's looking up and

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_01]: it's just all this stuff flooding back to her yeah and she hadn't been home like that was one

[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_01]: thing her mother had told toffee that she never goes home like she never goes back to her hometown

[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_01]: because she's scarred and you can tell there's a sense of sadness about her yeah you know she's working

[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_01]: in the weather service she's very smart but she just to me it just seems like something is missing

[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_04]: like she's just well yeah and as we learn later on she's talking with Tyler like

[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_04]: the the failure of that initial experiment the loss of her friends like she

[00:31:24] [SPEAKER_04]: blames herself for that uh you know her the the failure of her experiment she blames for the

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_04]: that happened because I had an idea and I was wrong mm-hmm and so she's holding onto that so

[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_04]: she's kind of that grief and guilt and and shame on whatever like she literally ran from it all the

[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_01]: way to the other end of the country yeah I mean what do you do though I mean that's how some people

[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_01]: deal with trauma like this and I think that she did what she had to do which was get out of the

[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_01]: situation and get away from the reminders because I think even though she was in New York it was still

[00:32:09] [SPEAKER_01]: eating her and I think had she stayed in Oklahoma it would have eaten her life like she

[00:32:16] [SPEAKER_01]: would have gone into an even worse depression because she lost her friends her boyfriend

[00:32:24] [SPEAKER_01]: heard you know something she loved so much was this project like all of these things meant so much to

[00:32:31] [SPEAKER_01]: and to have all of it ripped away I think she had to leave in order to give herself

[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_04]: or preserve what was left of her sanity after yeah so it's it's a lot for her to just get thrown right

[00:32:43] [SPEAKER_04]: back into it you know they that doesn't go home doesn't have like a downtime it's like all right we're

[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_04]: in Oklahoma we go to the gas station and now there's a bunch of chasers in your whole old life is just

[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_01]: here around you yep it's you're facing it you're facing your fear you know it's funny because later

[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Tyler has this quote where he's like tornadoes and bulls are the same thing fears the reason you do it

[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_01]: you don't face your fears you ride him and I feel like she was faced with everything right in front of her

[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_04]: you know all the ones just don't back in meeting though storm part team and everybody else there and then

[00:33:22] [SPEAKER_04]: of course Tyler and his tornado wrangler team showing up and meeting him such an interesting

[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I love the character of Tyler Owens I love Lampaule and this movie

[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_04]: so great but you know just because he's like annoying at first and you're like oh yeah what a douche

[00:33:42] [SPEAKER_04]: bag and then as the movie goes on by the end you just fall in love with him as a character you're like

[00:33:48] [SPEAKER_01]: oh yeah like the greatest person ever because I thought I'm first he was like Jonas yeah from the

[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_01]: original twister I'm like oh god we're got another Jonas but things were different honestly the storm

[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_01]: part people really were the Jonas of this movie yeah they were and that's what flipped it around because

[00:34:08] [SPEAKER_01]: I was looking at it like okay so Kate's working for the Jonas type people because they have all the

[00:34:13] [SPEAKER_01]: money and then you go over here and you've got Tyler and he's got the RV a lot of the having an RV again

[00:34:24] [SPEAKER_01]: it just brought me back to the whole thing that we saw back you know with just Philipsy and

[00:34:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Seymour Hoffman and his little group and Alan Rockin all of them it just brought me back to that

[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_01]: by seeing that RV because I loved the little group of people that were part of that like it was just

[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_04]: like rag tag team of outcasts and all creative personalities and the interesting cool and

[00:34:53] [SPEAKER_01]: those are the people I would gravitate towards first just because those are my people the ones that

[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_01]: are just you know what we're the island of the misfit toys and we don't care yeah I love it it's

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_04]: great Tyler keeps referring to Kate as city girl throughout the movie and tell me like at the

[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_04]: rodeo learns her back story and I was like come on her accent they've immediately given her away

[00:35:19] [SPEAKER_04]: like yeah she's coming from New York but clearly she was raised in the south like that's so easy to pick

[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_01]: up on yeah I wondered how just how perceptive he could be if he couldn't pick up on that

[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_01]: but he is perceptive in a whole bunch of other things like he really cared for her and the fact that

[00:35:40] [SPEAKER_01]: they didn't create this big romance the whole time I yeah I have to tell you at the end of

[00:35:49] [SPEAKER_01]: the movie I was expecting a kiss and we didn't get one and I was so grateful yeah like I mean

[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_04]: clearly they like they do kind of get closer like yeah yes but it's not important right to the

[00:36:03] [SPEAKER_04]: movie and and they know that they're like if you want to run with that that's great if you want to

[00:36:10] [SPEAKER_04]: come and bond and go over what they do and really are great as a team together yes and that's

[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_01]: why they didn't they had filmed an n-scene with kissing but they chose not to do it for the very

[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_01]: same reason that you just said that they bonded over a shared love of storm chasing and tornadoes

[00:36:33] [SPEAKER_01]: and the science behind it but I loved the flip flop of oh no you know Tyler he's not the Jonas he's

[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_01]: more of the Joe and it just I liked it because I was looking for all the different little things

[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_01]: that would be like the original movie and I liked all of that flipping around yeah because it was

[00:36:58] [SPEAKER_01]: unexpected because you you look at something think okay this is how it's gonna be

[00:37:03] [SPEAKER_01]: and then it's not that it's just it's nice when it works out that way yeah so we we're talking

[00:37:10] [SPEAKER_04]: about Kate thrown back into stuff and it seems overwhelming but honestly she steps right back into gear

[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_04]: pretty quickly like yeah the first mission was a failure because she panicked and I'm not gonna

[00:37:22] [SPEAKER_04]: blame her for having this trepidation and trauma like absolutely like when she's like you know following

[00:37:29] [SPEAKER_04]: the wind patterns and like even trying to throw Tyler off the cent bail like using the

[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_04]: scientific effects of like that's the one you need to go after and then there's like ha ha he fell

[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_04]: for a go um and just trying to she's already back into that mode and making those right calls

[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_04]: uh you think they'd learned to believe that she's right about anything sooner than they did

[00:37:51] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah but they didn't but yeah so yeah the first one doesn't go off very well because she panicked

[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_04]: and then even the second time the scanners are up in place and in time but one of them has

[00:38:04] [SPEAKER_04]: technical difficulties and gets pulled up into the tornado which I used to term

[00:38:10] [SPEAKER_04]: pulled up not sucked up because which is typically said because tornadoes don't actually suck

[00:38:16] [SPEAKER_04]: anything up that's not how tornadoes work um they live. I'm not gonna say what I just love my head

[00:38:27] [SPEAKER_04]: oh man yeah it's kind of another one of those like misnomer kind of things. It like

[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_04]: it was just like you know sucked up by the tornadoes like no they they lift its vertical

[00:38:37] [SPEAKER_04]: wind forces but there's no suction to it this wind gets under objects and like a kite kind of

[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_04]: lifts them and carries on the car as the boy yeah which then leads to even this movie as more realistic

[00:38:51] [SPEAKER_04]: as it is and some things still has some of those visual elements that are less realistic

[00:38:56] [SPEAKER_04]: but you have to add to the drama and horror of a tornado movie like you see people like you

[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_04]: me you mentioned uh they're friends in the beginning kind of get sucked backwards or even

[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_04]: the truck at the hotel getting sucked into the air so yeah it's not really how it works but

[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean that's what it looks like it looks like when you're looking at what they show you in the

[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_01]: movie it looks like he's sucked in but if you after explaining it it can be described as being pulled

[00:39:24] [SPEAKER_04]: in yeah I mean it's not going to go into lift people and cars yeah off the ground and then of course

[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_04]: then they get caught in the wind the vertical wind like current and pull into the vortex yeah that's

[00:39:37] [SPEAKER_01]: happened yeah but it pay gets going to take a long time for me to say yeah but now that I know

[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna think about it just a little bit more oh yeah it's no cows in this one but we got check

[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_04]: us yeah lots and lots of feathers on the truck um yeah we see Kate with like this code of a good

[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_04]: mixer where if you're in a position to help people in need after the effects of tornado you do

[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_04]: again I don't want to too much on the like read 10 or so but go watch it people uh his

[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_04]: twisters I are all series they have part of that is like watching a tornado rip through a house and then

[00:40:24] [SPEAKER_04]: after the tornado kind of moves its way and it's clear they pull up to the house and immediately

[00:40:28] [SPEAKER_04]: get out of the car and start yelling anybody there anybody need help everybody okay like that's

[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_01]: the first thing you got to do if you're there you do it well and Kate has these preconceived notions

[00:40:37] [SPEAKER_01]: about Tyler in his group because they're selling t-shirts in the aftermath of a tornado

[00:40:46] [SPEAKER_04]: but yeah which obviously yeah looks yeah kind of bad uh but then it's talking with a lily that

[00:40:55] [SPEAKER_01]: that clears that up like yeah it's a food box like they put together these little food boxes for people

[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_01]: so they have something to eat after yeah and then they're also yeah they're part of

[00:41:09] [SPEAKER_04]: recovery and supporting people yeah you learn that the merch sales are going to buy food and

[00:41:17] [SPEAKER_04]: supplies for people that are affected by the storms which honestly is really kind of touching like

[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_04]: it affected me when I watch it in theaters I'll be full honest like I got a little teary thinking

[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_04]: about it even here's like that's that's beautiful you take the position you're in and you

[00:41:32] [SPEAKER_04]: do good for those around you like I was like it's that scene where the idea in mindset of Tyler

[00:41:39] [SPEAKER_04]: in the tornado wranglers really flips in your head at least with mine where I was like yes

[00:41:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm ever even in theaters talking to myself like after she was like why do you think we sell all the

[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_04]: stuff it's like so the food is free we can help people and I was like in my head just oh shit these are

[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_01]: the really good guys these are the you know what I think when you go into this movie and you're thinking

[00:41:59] [SPEAKER_01]: about I don't know I was so on this Jonas world like they're gonna be like Jonas but then

[00:42:05] [SPEAKER_01]: at some point it flips because you see that but then she kind of also starts to realize

[00:42:13] [SPEAKER_01]: that things aren't necessarily what they seem with hobbies company because

[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_01]: it looks on the outside like they're doing great things to help people but then

[00:42:30] [SPEAKER_01]: she learns more about them and this particular guy that rigs who he's got as an investor

[00:42:42] [SPEAKER_01]: and she realizes after doing research that he's taking advantage of people

[00:42:48] [SPEAKER_01]: it looks like he's being a good guy by a you know taking care of things but the point is

[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_04]: he's like swooping in and giving them the bare minimum amount of money and buying their land

[00:43:02] [SPEAKER_04]: like because they have no other options it's like well your business your home your land everything's

[00:43:05] [SPEAKER_04]: been destroyed so here I'll buy it from you and then you have money to pick up and start somewhere else

[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah but it's just like he's taking advantage of them in a scared and

[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_04]: terrible position with nothing after they just lost everything in tragedy and then all he's

[00:43:22] [SPEAKER_04]: going to do is then own that land rebuild it back up and then sell it again for a higher price or

[00:43:28] [SPEAKER_04]: or do whatever you know renovate and read it's a developer and a culture on these people and then

[00:43:35] [SPEAKER_04]: using stormparr to parse out you know where to go follow the storms follow these get

[00:43:43] [SPEAKER_04]: intel on people what communities that I can I can swoop in and maybe even to the point where he

[00:43:49] [SPEAKER_04]: can then get data to go in and go like in the next two years there's going to be a deadly

[00:43:54] [SPEAKER_04]: storm that's going to swing through here so why don't you go ahead and sell up all your land now so

[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_01]: you don't have the reason you know exactly and Scott who is hobby's business partner is all on board

[00:44:04] [SPEAKER_01]: with that like he's part of the problem he just is like I've got to go get got to go talk to these

[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_01]: people because this is there's a store on or over here I've got to talk to him like he's involved in it

[00:44:18] [SPEAKER_01]: and you see everything and she figures it out and she basically you know tells hobby like

[00:44:28] [SPEAKER_04]: she's done like he's she pointed out yeah it's not the code that she kind of lives by it's

[00:44:38] [SPEAKER_04]: like you that's not helping people what really when she's seeing the destruction of that that town

[00:44:43] [SPEAKER_04]: it does make her think back to that experiment she was working on I mean they guilt is still there but

[00:44:48] [SPEAKER_04]: now that she's been using like the par data she's like she asks hobby before that little moment

[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_04]: you mentioned of like wait does do the readings that we did get on that one will it tell us how it

[00:44:59] [SPEAKER_04]: died out and it's like we might be able to use that information to revisit and tweak our earlier

[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_04]: models and we can maybe pick up on this experiment she's thinking about it of course

[00:45:10] [SPEAKER_04]: after realizing stuff about all the anything she again just kind of retreats home and is

[00:45:14] [SPEAKER_04]: kind of shut off from the things and that's you know we'll talk about Tyler but like that's where he

[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_04]: really becomes the hero of this movie in a couple of ways like or even kind of a personal hero like

[00:45:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't say like you know she wasn't able to do anything without this man coming into her life but

[00:45:31] [SPEAKER_04]: he really was kind of that spark that was able to reignite what she needed. He was able to pull

[00:45:38] [SPEAKER_01]: things out of her that she hadn't thought about or felt in a long time and by her talking about

[00:45:46] [SPEAKER_01]: how she felt about losing her friends I think that really was therapeutic for her yeah because

[00:45:53] [SPEAKER_01]: she I don't know how much she had talked about it and she definitely needed to but he starts it's just

[00:46:02] [SPEAKER_01]: little words he says and just gets her thinking about things to the point where he's getting ready to

[00:46:09] [SPEAKER_01]: even she you know she's got she's like okay all right let's let's do this I locked her little model

[00:46:17] [SPEAKER_01]: of like the little community with the little houses how she had it set up so she could do

[00:46:22] [SPEAKER_01]: this task I thought that was really clever um it was her middle school science project I'm like

[00:46:30] [SPEAKER_04]: middle school okay she's smart you see this is smart kid smart woman very smart

[00:46:36] [SPEAKER_04]: man yeah before all of that of course though I would talk about the the rodeo and the pool scene

[00:46:42] [SPEAKER_04]: and things like that a little bit backtrack that the rodeo scene that stuff was actually really

[00:46:48] [SPEAKER_04]: heartwarming to me it was just to see like them and like learning backstory and stuff but also just

[00:46:54] [SPEAKER_04]: on a personal level I'm sure I've mentioned it here my dad runs a buck out rodeo thing regularly around

[00:46:59] [SPEAKER_04]: here or he did he hasn't the past few months likely won't the rest of this year at least while

[00:47:07] [SPEAKER_04]: battling cancer but I'm hopeful that he will get back to it soon and I definitely need to get

[00:47:12] [SPEAKER_04]: out there when he does because I've always kind of meant to and then with this coming on and

[00:47:17] [SPEAKER_04]: especially just seeing that it was like this little place in my heart was like all right when he's

[00:47:20] [SPEAKER_04]: back up on his feet and he's gonna take this back over it's like I need to start going to some

[00:47:23] [SPEAKER_01]: of his rodeo you do I think you're be fun for you to connect with your dad no way I thought of you

[00:47:30] [SPEAKER_01]: and your dad immediately when he takes such a the rodeo I'm like oh my goodness this is you know

[00:47:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I had no idea that Tyler used to you know was a bull rider or did any of those things

[00:47:43] [SPEAKER_01]: until he started talking about it and I'm like well it kind of does make sense you know it's kind

[00:47:49] [SPEAKER_01]: of adrenaline rush to do that but I definitely thought of you right away because of your dad and

[00:47:57] [SPEAKER_01]: his association with the rodeo so yeah absolutely I mean that was a lot of my childhood so

[00:48:05] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah you're gonna get back to that sometimes it's good to go back to something from childhood just for fun

[00:48:11] [SPEAKER_01]: but I love that she finally says to have this ain't my first rodeo I love it I was like yes

[00:48:18] [SPEAKER_04]: so you're you she's somewhere on here and then of course follow up all of that like nice

[00:48:24] [SPEAKER_04]: you with the most like intense scenes of the movie which the real the one scene that real storm

[00:48:31] [SPEAKER_04]: chasers are gonna complain about oh boy okay is the surprise tornado at the rodeo

[00:48:39] [SPEAKER_04]: oh my gosh never would have happened yeah never would have happened that way it would have not

[00:48:43] [SPEAKER_04]: have snuck up on them people especially Tyler there would have had their radars and alerts and

[00:48:49] [SPEAKER_04]: everything up on their phone and would have already in like when you know that these storm

[00:48:54] [SPEAKER_04]: systems are coming in daily like even if you're like it should be clear they're gonna be checking

[00:49:01] [SPEAKER_04]: like there there there would have been enough warning and advance of people checking on things looking

[00:49:06] [SPEAKER_04]: like yeah tornado's not gonna sneak up on surprise on me or oh but it made for a great you know

[00:49:13] [SPEAKER_04]: tense you know shift to add the drama and suspense of the movie so yeah yeah I wondered about

[00:49:22] [SPEAKER_01]: that you knew what it reminded me of the drive-in scenes that we got in the first film

[00:49:26] [SPEAKER_01]: where they had to run and hide in the big metal building like um it did remind me again it's these

[00:49:40] [SPEAKER_01]: little things that seem like little like throwbacks to the original I felt like Tyler taking

[00:49:48] [SPEAKER_01]: her there and just sharing that much of himself with her did a lot to help her trust him yeah

[00:49:55] [SPEAKER_01]: because it's funny because he brings her a pizza that she might be hungry and she shuts the door

[00:50:00] [SPEAKER_04]: and is but he stayed outside for a few minutes and he comes back sometimes you have to be a little

[00:50:08] [SPEAKER_04]: persistent he's very persistent but yep yeah I don't know what I wouldn't say in a bad way though he

[00:50:15] [SPEAKER_01]: no again I think it grows on you over the movie first her I think he admired her because she was so smart

[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_01]: and I think he wanted to connect with her about the tornadoes in chasing and everything

[00:50:33] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah even if he could pick up on how she knew it she was doing and how self-confident she

[00:50:39] [SPEAKER_01]: was yeah I mean she's just in tune with them yeah yeah of course with the hotel and stuff

[00:50:46] [SPEAKER_04]: there we get the douchey bad review quote unquote couple uh odd which means because we needed some

[00:50:52] [SPEAKER_04]: casualties to add to the way to the movie but it we had to make it people that kind of sucked so we didn't

[00:50:56] [SPEAKER_01]: feel so bad that's how that worked I think yeah and the guy that was complaining and gonna give the

[00:51:02] [SPEAKER_01]: review that actor is James Paxton the son of Bill Paxton nice like oh connection I love connections

[00:51:13] [SPEAKER_01]: even if he did he didn't listen no why do people not listen I don't get it they just can't listen

[00:51:23] [SPEAKER_04]: it's just a thing they're just not able to do it uh yeah then the pool scene after that was also

[00:51:29] [SPEAKER_04]: super intense brought that all the way I was done uh although again the truck getting sucked in

[00:51:36] [SPEAKER_04]: the tornado kind of looked like I was like it was a little much but but they played it off a

[00:51:40] [SPEAKER_04]: little bit later with like the reality a little better like I was talking about with the hotel worker

[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_04]: you know he has that moment he just wouldn't stay low to the ground and then so you see where

[00:51:49] [SPEAKER_01]: this draft gets under him and there he goes pulls him up but you can see why people would think

[00:51:55] [SPEAKER_01]: he was getting sucked in I mean just because the way it looks like yeah but still too I'm still

[00:52:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm working to retrain my brain now it's gonna be a process yeah some antics um yeah and then yeah

[00:52:14] [SPEAKER_04]: and then we talked about kind of her conversation with Harvey after how about losing three my best

[00:52:20] [SPEAKER_04]: friends while you were trying to lean a big fat grant for your science project oh Harvey fucked up with

[00:52:25] [SPEAKER_04]: that one um she literally steals his truck and drives home uh yeah I really liked when she went

[00:52:33] [SPEAKER_01]: into the barn and you think she's walking in and you basically are walking into we get the shaken

[00:52:40] [SPEAKER_01]: cam video that Jeb was taking yeah of her about their work and I like that before the opening scene

[00:52:49] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah and I liked it because I felt like we were getting a glimpse into something yeah

[00:52:57] [SPEAKER_04]: like it did into that where he says this is what it's like to be inside a tornado and I was like

[00:53:00] [SPEAKER_01]: well you found out for real the next day again it's too soon I'm so I feel like Kate really came to

[00:53:12] [SPEAKER_01]: life in this movie I mean we see her in the beginning and she's so passionate and excited and then

[00:53:17] [SPEAKER_01]: five years later we see her you know basically still feeling all the pain in the hurt and

[00:53:24] [SPEAKER_01]: blaming herself and then we see her come alive again I feel like this entire movie was about

[00:53:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Kate coming to life again yeah and realizing her passion and that it's okay to move beyond

[00:53:38] [SPEAKER_04]: what happened to her and her friends yeah and also really like the surprise moratoriuming is

[00:53:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Kate's mom Kathy yes more tyranny is wonderful I think I first saw her in ER ages ago

[00:53:54] [SPEAKER_01]: and she was great then and she's just as great now absolutely she's been doing some

[00:54:00] [SPEAKER_04]: fun stuff recently besides this movie and then she was also another mother in the iron claw

[00:54:06] [SPEAKER_01]: yes so which is not a movie that we can cover on here because it really doesn't fit but I really

[00:54:12] [SPEAKER_04]: enjoyed that movie yeah Kathy warms up to Tyler way faster than Kate does

[00:54:19] [SPEAKER_04]: met him like 10 minutes ago and you're already telling the ran out naked into the wheatfield story so

[00:54:25] [SPEAKER_01]: man man man man I felt for her because you know moms it's what they do

[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_01]: they tell the stories the embarrassing stories you know it's just they just have to share

[00:54:43] [SPEAKER_01]: ridiculous things yeah they can't keep quiet yeah as you mentioned I think yeah her being home

[00:54:52] [SPEAKER_04]: does bring a lot of life back into her especially again give some credit to Tyler

[00:54:58] [SPEAKER_04]: again at conversation they had where I mean blaming her herself for the things that happened

[00:55:04] [SPEAKER_04]: and instead like again he's like being very persistent and it's kind of annoying to her at first but

[00:55:10] [SPEAKER_04]: like she sees what it is like he's supportive of her research and he's like look what you're

[00:55:16] [SPEAKER_04]: doing was incredible like the OG tornado wranglers like what I'm doing you're doing better before

[00:55:21] [SPEAKER_04]: and he's like in with newer technology and we have better connections to other people it's like this

[00:55:25] [SPEAKER_04]: actually might be doable and he believes in her and he talks her back into like we can do that

[00:55:32] [SPEAKER_04]: and then we see them go out and try it out and you see her again just like the the wonder she has

[00:55:39] [SPEAKER_04]: the whole of the shit and taking pictures isn't that beautiful is her chasing this tornado

[00:55:43] [SPEAKER_04]: so you see like he's managed to bring out this wide eye it excited dreamer that she used to be

[00:55:48] [SPEAKER_04]: like he's crucial to this reinvigorated sense of adventure and due to learn and help

[00:55:55] [SPEAKER_04]: like she's once again inspired to tame a tornado like he's found that that dream and re-reopened

[00:56:04] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah I loved watching her blossom that way and start to let go of some of the pain and really

[00:56:12] [SPEAKER_01]: focus on okay we could do something good we can do something good which I know Havi was trying to do

[00:56:20] [SPEAKER_01]: with his company but I do feel like Kate just needed to reconnect with herself and she needed someone to

[00:56:29] [SPEAKER_01]: say it's okay it's okay to feel sad it's okay to be upset it's okay you know what happened to

[00:56:36] [SPEAKER_01]: you was not your fault it was just a situation and it's okay to move to move on and I feel like

[00:56:45] [SPEAKER_04]: she never really felt that before yeah has that when and then throws her right back into it literally

[00:56:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I like I like the moment where she's just like we're gonna put it in the path and it's like

[00:56:55] [SPEAKER_04]: no it's like it was a good point is like can't miss the tornado from the center of it that's

[00:57:01] [SPEAKER_04]: we're going in she's like oh no what have I done but then after it happens like she realized

[00:57:08] [SPEAKER_04]: she's like wow like that's incredible of course then she's like does it work and we realize

[00:57:12] [SPEAKER_04]: that no it was another failure whoever this one is a lot easier to just kind of take on the

[00:57:18] [SPEAKER_04]: chin and get right back to the front board but yeah she realizes like they've still got to

[00:57:24] [SPEAKER_04]: some stuff and then that's when Harvey comes back in and starts his redemption arc because

[00:57:29] [SPEAKER_04]: goes to retrieve his track but then in good faith he supplies Kate with all of the storm par 3D

[00:57:34] [SPEAKER_04]: scans and then her and Tyler can use that to upgrade their model and they realize they need

[00:57:40] [SPEAKER_04]: more precipitation and all this was like I'm not gonna get into the science of all of it however

[00:57:47] [SPEAKER_04]: again retimer talking about it and looking into some stuff uh it seems the science is logical

[00:57:53] [SPEAKER_04]: and it could be employed in real experiments in the future uh you know Reed talks about it in

[00:58:00] [SPEAKER_04]: the video or he's just like I might actually try to do this uh it's not really a sustainable plan

[00:58:08] [SPEAKER_04]: that could be implemented like affordably versus just putting more research and thought into

[00:58:13] [SPEAKER_04]: better warning systems because to actually have that kind of equipment and chemicals and stuff

[00:58:19] [SPEAKER_04]: for every tornado that comes near a town like it's just astronomically yeah you can't yeah it's

[00:58:25] [SPEAKER_04]: not sustainable but it's something that chasers and weather services could dive into and begin to

[00:58:30] [SPEAKER_01]: build off of something yeah so that's that was cool it's definitely probably more based in science

[00:58:38] [SPEAKER_04]: than the original movie yeah but it's interesting that this movie has implemented science fiction

[00:58:45] [SPEAKER_04]: that logically certain people have looked at and go like I mean maybe we could try that like

[00:58:54] [SPEAKER_04]: that could work yeah you never know you never know yeah and then I like Kate just adopts

[00:59:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Tyler and his whole team and her research uh it's just like it's all they're the new

[00:59:13] [SPEAKER_04]: team that she's working with and she's kind of heading that up uh which yeah is great uh Ben

[00:59:20] [SPEAKER_04]: has a new intriguing story to be a part of now I like Ben for his best he's fun I feel like

[00:59:27] [SPEAKER_01]: he ran the camera I don't know that he knew what he was getting into

[00:59:32] [SPEAKER_04]: no yeah at least kind of this last tornado that they deal with which rain wrapped

[00:59:40] [SPEAKER_04]: catching people off guard with its strength gives her some of those negative flashbacks of

[00:59:44] [SPEAKER_04]: that fateful day five years ago like this time she's better equipped but still it's like a lot of

[00:59:50] [SPEAKER_04]: the situation is similar where it's like it's bigger than they thought it would be they get into

[00:59:55] [SPEAKER_04]: the storm and it's all rain wrapped technical term there but you can't see what's going on because

[01:00:00] [SPEAKER_04]: next thing they know it's like oh shit it's honest and there's debris and there's

[01:00:04] [SPEAKER_04]: and it's kind of a repeat of what happened before uh except even bigger and worse uh

[01:00:11] [SPEAKER_04]: runs through an oil plant causing explosions and then funnels that fire up into it fire NATO

[01:00:20] [SPEAKER_04]: and it's just it's huge and it gets out of hand shifts towards the town of Al Reno

[01:00:25] [SPEAKER_04]: and the safety of the people there becomes number one priority again which I like

[01:00:29] [SPEAKER_04]: it's like can we get to into town get people sheltered because then it's like looks now or never

[01:00:35] [SPEAKER_04]: later on we see with the experiment she's like I'm gonna have to destroy this monster acidity

[01:00:39] [SPEAKER_01]: or a lot of people are gonna die uh she took it upon herself to do it she didn't talk to

[01:00:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Tyler about it she just went well she really loves stealing guys trucks so whatever all the time

[01:00:50] [SPEAKER_04]: she gets to do that. Electomania it's a thing yeah but she was there in in town long enough

[01:00:59] [SPEAKER_04]: to help you know they they do have some people there's some some kind of final destination hell

[01:01:05] [SPEAKER_04]: going on trying to take out Tyler but okay we're able to stay back and help him and then

[01:01:10] [SPEAKER_01]: hobby arrives at the perfect time to make that successful with the lever that calls back to the

[01:01:20] [SPEAKER_04]: man it was great. The movie theater definitely not the safest choice but I better than nothing at

[01:01:28] [SPEAKER_04]: all again kind of like the overpass where it's like it's not great but it's what we have and it's better

[01:01:34] [SPEAKER_01]: than nothing yeah that was terrifying watching that building start fall apart and you could see

[01:01:41] [SPEAKER_01]: that the tornado had not even hit and they were already in trouble. I mean the the screen part

[01:01:48] [SPEAKER_01]: ripped away and I mean if she hadn't done it she would have lost more people. Oh absolutely

[01:01:56] [SPEAKER_04]: she had to do it. Yeah and she goes off for it it's like well the new rockets and the chemical

[01:02:01] [SPEAKER_04]: formula and stuff it better work because she's going in and yeah it does work uh I am surprised that

[01:02:09] [SPEAKER_04]: none of the main characters died in this movie. I expected it. Like I'm honestly really good with it but

[01:02:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm surprised that like all of the like main members of the teams all make it out good or bad

[01:02:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean if her plan hadn't worked it would have been a very different story but yeah but I

[01:02:29] [SPEAKER_01]: feel like also we lost a lot at the beginning of the movie. So it's like okay maybe not kill everyone

[01:02:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Hmm only the people who don't listen yeah they go. Yeah but yes it works out and it's great

[01:02:48] [SPEAKER_04]: uh she's going to return in New York with her findings and then Tyler's pretty much told like

[01:02:53] [SPEAKER_04]: she chase uh we get the kind of twist a twist or on the classic rom-com style you gotta go after the

[01:03:02] [SPEAKER_04]: girl at the airport uh but you've got Paul Sheer bitching at you about your parking so you've got

[01:03:08] [SPEAKER_04]: awkward to check down first you know not that any of that really mattered because it's kind of funny

[01:03:15] [SPEAKER_04]: they get in there and then the flights are immediately delayed because of the storm anyway and then I think

[01:03:19] [SPEAKER_04]: you know like it cuts off then but you see them turn around and walk back out like obviously they

[01:03:23] [SPEAKER_04]: sell that storm system is like when we go back to the truck and do one last chase we got some time to kill

[01:03:28] [SPEAKER_01]: like that I thought he was going to kiss her and then he didn't and then I thought he was

[01:03:35] [SPEAKER_01]: going to do it because he went inside and then he didn't I was like thank you for not doing that because

[01:03:40] [SPEAKER_01]: it doesn't not every movie has to be about a relationship that's romantic it can be about two people

[01:03:50] [SPEAKER_01]: who share similar interests vibing off the fact that they share similar interests like yeah

[01:03:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I expect they probably do get together okay that's fine but I didn't I'm okay with them not

[01:04:05] [SPEAKER_04]: being a couple at the end of this yeah you know I like that you know we get like some mid credits kind

[01:04:12] [SPEAKER_04]: of just stuff thrown in where I did too can join us the tornado wringler team yeah and then

[01:04:18] [SPEAKER_04]: his article everything and yep she's officially part of the team who knows maybe she'll get her

[01:04:21] [SPEAKER_04]: face on a t-shirt soon but it was one of those things I'm like thinking is like if you would have

[01:04:29] [SPEAKER_04]: told me which I don't want spoilers so don't you fucking dare tell me but no you know if you would

[01:04:34] [SPEAKER_04]: tell me if I would tell myself like the first time we see Tyler and his crew roll up to that

[01:04:40] [SPEAKER_04]: gas station and you introduced his character that at the end of the movie Kate would be joining

[01:04:45] [SPEAKER_04]: his team and you'd been like yeah like how did we get to that you know I don't know

[01:04:51] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah I'm not sure how that happened and yet it did well I think we have you know

[01:05:00] [SPEAKER_01]: we've covered Kate yeah and a lot of other stuff and a lot of other stuff too but I do have

[01:05:05] [SPEAKER_04]: some Tyler notes oh yeah absolutely yes we'll get into Tyler and we talked about the switch

[01:05:12] [SPEAKER_04]: that again we kind of talked a lot about this we first meet him it's like oh they're douchey

[01:05:17] [SPEAKER_04]: they're in in it for the money and the fame they're about to end you know like an hobby and his

[01:05:28] [SPEAKER_04]: people and well I think that's what hobby wanted to do hmm yeah you get the twist of course then

[01:05:35] [SPEAKER_04]: it like stormpars even though hobby had better intentions it was like now at this point they're just

[01:05:40] [SPEAKER_04]: corporate and using this info to help developers manipulate people and make more on their investments

[01:05:46] [SPEAKER_04]: and yeah Tyler's YouTube fame and fun is actually bringing more awareness and community help

[01:05:52] [SPEAKER_04]: and there's actually better things coming from it yeah he's got a bigger heart I just have

[01:05:59] [SPEAKER_04]: tiny little note that I love the dexter I love the character dexter he's so much fun he's just like

[01:06:05] [SPEAKER_04]: just so excited he's like the oldest guy on the team but he's so excited about everything and there's

[01:06:10] [SPEAKER_04]: like this easily missed moment of when they're all at that for gas station and you know they're

[01:06:16] [SPEAKER_04]: kind of making fun of the storm park guys like oh you know nice ironed crease free shirts you

[01:06:20] [SPEAKER_04]: go into church blah blah blah and then his dexter is walking into her behind somebody he just goes

[01:06:25] [SPEAKER_04]: stormpars and it's just like this weird throw away little thing but I was like that's really funny to me

[01:06:34] [SPEAKER_04]: oh my gosh I missed that that is funny yeah just like like robotically like stormpars

[01:06:41] [SPEAKER_04]: that's great oh yeah I talked about Ben with the being the journalist there and I was like

[01:06:50] [SPEAKER_04]: a little jealous actually sounds fun the the Tyler Owens effect is hobby calls it with all these

[01:06:57] [SPEAKER_04]: amateur chasers all crowding around watching his streams and then following the actions so they can

[01:07:01] [SPEAKER_04]: see the tornado themselves yeah it's an issue with people like redeemer and other

[01:07:07] [SPEAKER_04]: chasers that like on his streams there's literally a constant thing on the bottom that was like

[01:07:12] [SPEAKER_04]: yes we have the GPS locations and coordinates pulled up you can you can track him on a stream

[01:07:17] [SPEAKER_04]: no exactly where he is please don't it's like we're doing that so that if he's chasing a tornado

[01:07:23] [SPEAKER_04]: people in the area no exactly where he is and where the tornado is so they can get to shelter

[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_04]: and safety and keep a track on the storm it's like please don't follow him please don't bother him

[01:07:33] [SPEAKER_04]: don't get in his way he's in storm chase mode just because there are weird people out there

[01:07:39] [SPEAKER_04]: they're like I'm gonna go and get in the tornado I don't know what are you doing right

[01:07:46] [SPEAKER_04]: fan boys sometimes go overboard it's like if he's streaming don't don't track him down leave him alone

[01:07:53] [SPEAKER_01]: he's working people don't look at him with a feeling tight on to know and be part of the madness

[01:08:00] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah don't do that so I like that they had that little like just throw away thing in the movie

[01:08:05] [SPEAKER_04]: of like showing that is like these like the the Tyler Owens effect he says like all these other

[01:08:09] [SPEAKER_04]: people are like because he's there these just random people are just showing up and getting in the way

[01:08:17] [SPEAKER_01]: he did have like a hair on my people yeah I mean they were there they were all just waiting for him to

[01:08:23] [SPEAKER_01]: arrive like you know it's like a musician when you when they arrive at the airport and the fans are already

[01:08:30] [SPEAKER_01]: there yeah I'm thinking about the beetles like that's what I'm thinking about but yeah that's sort of

[01:08:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Tyler coming out with his cowboy hat and his white t-shirt and the pouring rain walk

[01:08:43] [SPEAKER_01]: into his cat that to me just like yeah okay yep white t-shirts gonna get wet and this is yeah

[01:08:52] [SPEAKER_01]: he's got the cowboy hat it's like the cowboy thing yeah I mean yeah she's gonna cast Glenn Palin

[01:08:58] [SPEAKER_04]: and movie as a cowboy you better show it you better just you better make the best of it right

[01:09:04] [SPEAKER_04]: it pay give that's making the best of it it was good to see Brandon Perea again and this

[01:09:13] [SPEAKER_04]: movie has known his kind of photographer I love Brandon Perea you can barely recognize him but we did

[01:09:20] [SPEAKER_04]: previously really enjoy his work as Angel in nope the kind of IT guy that installs the cameras

[01:09:28] [SPEAKER_01]: and it's getting drawn in his eyes oh my gosh I didn't recognize him yeah because his hand was

[01:09:36] [SPEAKER_01]: all bleached out and oh my gosh yep he just likes doing movies that involve rodeos

[01:09:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean really he's the second one we've covered with him in it oh my gosh

[01:09:52] [SPEAKER_04]: hmm that's awesome good there yeah intercept done well Tyler the fireworks or a brilliant touch

[01:10:02] [SPEAKER_04]: you feel it chase baby I'm quite a tornado regular fan especially the second watch like

[01:10:08] [SPEAKER_04]: knowing that he's like a really good guy like then going back in like without having to wait for

[01:10:12] [SPEAKER_04]: the twist be like I'm just gonna be a fan of him the whole movie and I don't care

[01:10:20] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah it's a great soundtrack to this movie it's really fun I noticed that a lot of countryish music

[01:10:27] [SPEAKER_01]: which is not my jam but I didn't do it some of the stuff it's a vibe it does add it definitely adds

[01:10:35] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah we have Lily on the team because this is right notes we've talked a lot about Tyler so I

[01:10:46] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's actually become a very important modern part of Chaser work.

[01:10:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I've seen some really cold young footage.

[01:10:55] [SPEAKER_04]: You can just fly them right in, it's cool.

[01:10:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I loved Winhovi.

[01:11:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Finally, isn't going to take any more shit from Scott and basically stops the car.

[01:11:09] [SPEAKER_01]: After Harry Scott said this is good when he sees a tornado after the electrical plan

[01:11:15] [SPEAKER_01]: he's already thinking it has had about a whole money and dollar science and all of these

[01:11:19] [SPEAKER_01]: things and Tyler just but, and Harvey just basically stops the vehicle.

[01:11:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, they were supposed to stop and set up the scanner.

[01:11:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And he's like we need to stop right here, get the scanner and hit and he's like,

[01:11:33] [SPEAKER_04]: no, we got to go to town.

[01:11:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And really it's the line that was the final straw is he's like, we've got to worry

[01:11:39] [SPEAKER_04]: about the people and Scott yells back at him.

[01:11:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't care about the people.

[01:11:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And that was it.

[01:11:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Something clicks and hobbies mind is like fuck, that's correct.

[01:11:48] [SPEAKER_04]: That what we're doing right now, that sums that up perfectly.

[01:11:51] [SPEAKER_04]: We are not caring about people and I'm not going to be a part of that anymore.

[01:11:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I loved that, loved it.

[01:11:58] [SPEAKER_01]: There was a vibe too when they all get to the center of town.

[01:12:02] [SPEAKER_01]: It's so overwhelming.

[01:12:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Like people are running and trying to be safe in the tornado coming and it just is this chaos

[01:12:12] [SPEAKER_01]: that they just take a second and show you, you know, Kate and Tyler are there.

[01:12:19] [SPEAKER_01]: And they're just like it's just chaos.

[01:12:21] [SPEAKER_01]: They were in the center of town and it's madness because the place was packed before.

[01:12:27] [SPEAKER_01]: And there's no place to go and, you know, the shelters are full and, you know, what do

[01:12:33] [SPEAKER_01]: you do?

[01:12:33] [SPEAKER_01]: And they're just trying to save people.

[01:12:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, on Tyler notes, uh, I love that like he never really falls for Kate's tricks

[01:12:44] [SPEAKER_04]: the whole movie.

[01:12:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Like he's good at this too.

[01:12:46] [SPEAKER_04]: He knows what he's doing.

[01:12:47] [SPEAKER_04]: He'll sit there and talk to her and like she'll say, Oh, because of blah, blah, blah, we can't

[01:12:51] [SPEAKER_04]: go that and then like in his head, he's like, I know what you're doing.

[01:12:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And immediately was like, all right, so the things she said not to do,

[01:12:58] [SPEAKER_04]: she's going to do that.

[01:12:59] [SPEAKER_04]: So that's also like he's, he never really falls for it, which kind of just shows

[01:13:03] [SPEAKER_04]: like they're on an even playing field with each other.

[01:13:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I like that because they are, it's presented that they're equals and I like

[01:13:11] [SPEAKER_01]: that too because often you get one of the other is superior, but they're really like

[01:13:17] [SPEAKER_01]: it's a matter of mind-melding between the two of them.

[01:13:21] [SPEAKER_01]: And I like that a lot.

[01:13:23] Yeah.

[01:13:23] [SPEAKER_04]: So the auger's are cool.

[01:13:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure I talked to her mentioned that already, but I got another note.

[01:13:28] [SPEAKER_04]: So like, yeah.

[01:13:30] [SPEAKER_04]: See, I love that Glint Powell is a native Texan.

[01:13:33] [SPEAKER_04]: He still lives here in Texas now.

[01:13:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And so he carries that vibe really well in this movie.

[01:13:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it feels real because it is.

[01:13:41] [SPEAKER_04]: He's familiar with the life that this character leads at least culturally.

[01:13:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think he has any and like he hasn't done any storm chasing in his life.

[01:13:48] [SPEAKER_04]: But like, but rodeos and Texas and got vibe in that culture.

[01:13:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Like yeah, he's he's in the sense of the through he's.

[01:13:56] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what's cool?

[01:13:59] [SPEAKER_01]: When they were at the rodeo, his parents actually have our seated behind him and

[01:14:08] [SPEAKER_01]: date that your Jonesy plays Kate.

[01:14:11] [SPEAKER_01]: It's really cool.

[01:14:12] [SPEAKER_01]: But then I guess his parents appear in all of his movies.

[01:14:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Like whatever movie he's doing.

[01:14:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, since he was in Spikids, like way way back.

[01:14:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's weird to go back.

[01:14:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I remember going back and seeing a picture of him in Spikids when he's so young.

[01:14:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's like.

[01:14:34] [SPEAKER_01]: People grow up.

[01:14:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but we get it.

[01:14:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And then it makes me feel old because it was like, oh, he was like a kid in that movie.

[01:14:40] [SPEAKER_01]: And like, paying for watching not.

[01:14:42] [SPEAKER_01]: He's not much older than you.

[01:14:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh no.

[01:14:46] [SPEAKER_04]: It's.

[01:14:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:14:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's see.

[01:14:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:14:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Ben ending up wearing a button up shirt and cowboy hat might be the best arc of the whole movie.

[01:14:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Also, he knows he does not want to ride in the truck with Tyler anymore.

[01:15:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Definitely not.

[01:15:04] [SPEAKER_01]: He's figured it out.

[01:15:06] [SPEAKER_01]: He knows that if he rides in that truck, he's probably going to end up at the end puking on the side of the road.

[01:15:12] [SPEAKER_04]: But Ben is one of those very subtle character arcs.

[01:15:16] [SPEAKER_04]: It's in the background that I actually think is really great.

[01:15:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Where, you know, we see him like stepping gingerly out of the truck and like avoiding puddles.

[01:15:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And like panicking to the moment that like he's in the fray and like you said he's got the cowboy hat in the shirt and, you know, everything on.

[01:15:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Even the point where they get to that to El Reno, you know, the end of the movie.

[01:15:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And he gets out of the truck with his camera.

[01:15:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Looks around takes his camera off, sets it in the truck and then just runs into the fray to start helping people get into it.

[01:15:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:15:44] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's.

[01:15:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Honestly, like it's one of those little things that like if you notice it, you're like, oh, they actually put some thought in even into his character as it.

[01:15:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:15:53] [SPEAKER_01]: I thought that showed a lot of growth in his character because instead of just thinking of himself and what he needed to be doing for his job.

[01:16:02] [SPEAKER_01]: He was looking at, okay, that can be done at any time. Oh my god, this right here is serious.

[01:16:09] [SPEAKER_01]: We're talking life and death and we need to do what we can.

[01:16:13] [SPEAKER_01]: It's, you know what, it's, it's magical.

[01:16:16] [SPEAKER_01]: It's something about.

[01:16:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Being around Tyler and his team that just makes everyone want to be good and do good things.

[01:16:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:16:27] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just yeah, it's infectious.

[01:16:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, let's see, I'm about to have any other notes.

[01:16:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I just a last little section about hobby and his team, but I think we've talked about most of it.

[01:16:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I love that the storm pars sensors are named 10 man scarecrow in line and the computer they work with are wizard because it's all just in honor of Dorothy and the continuation of a legacy equipment.

[01:16:49] [SPEAKER_04]: It's too bad they were being used for some shady shit, but I liked the naming continuation that was really fun.

[01:16:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I think the Dorothy at the beginning is Dorothy five.

[01:17:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Which the original ones were Dorothy one two three and four.

[01:17:04] [SPEAKER_01]: So this is like another version of Dorothy.

[01:17:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we didn't talk about Anthony Ramos a whole lot, but he's incredible. I loved seeing like is another one was like Anthony Ramos is in the twisters.

[01:17:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:17:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And in the movie it's like I got to see how he works with this because I mean my first introduction really to Anthony Ramos was Hamilton.

[01:17:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think a lot of people was and and then from there to another.

[01:17:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Lynn Manuel Miranda thing with the in the heights he was incredible and in the heights so I used to him being like the musical guy with your musical drama and then to see him in this movie I was like,

[01:17:42] [SPEAKER_04]: He's so good.

[01:17:44] [SPEAKER_01]: I know and it was cool to see him in something different.

[01:17:49] [SPEAKER_01]: You know something that's very intense.

[01:17:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking forward to seeing what he does next.

[01:17:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, if you haven't watched in the heights you do need to do that it's so good.

[01:18:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I have not seen it.

[01:18:02] [SPEAKER_01]: It took me a long time to watch Hamilton and then I did and I was like, Oh, but I like it.

[01:18:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's great.

[01:18:08] [SPEAKER_01]: But you know sometimes people get so hyped up on things.

[01:18:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it takes the joy out of some of you know watching things for me is all the hype.

[01:18:23] [SPEAKER_01]: But you know we did we have covered a movie that he was in before.

[01:18:27] Yeah.

[01:18:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Godzilla.

[01:18:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[01:18:30] [SPEAKER_01]: King of the monsters.

[01:18:33] [SPEAKER_01]: So but it was very cool to see him in this role.

[01:18:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we talked about just the shady stuff going on with storm power and then yeah, Scott there at the end.

[01:18:44] [SPEAKER_04]: So I think yeah, that's all the nuts I have.

[01:18:47] [SPEAKER_01]: I said all you have while I have a couple of things.

[01:18:50] [SPEAKER_01]: There's a couple of things.

[01:18:53] [SPEAKER_01]: They did not go to New York City to film the scenes with Kate in New York City.

[01:18:58] [SPEAKER_01]: They actually made over.

[01:19:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it was Oklahoma City too.

[01:19:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Resemble New York enough to get that those parts.

[01:19:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Those scenes filmed.

[01:19:12] [SPEAKER_01]: There's a part where.

[01:19:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Kate says I'm not back.

[01:19:18] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's an homage to Bill Paxton saying that because everyone can say, Oh, welcome back.

[01:19:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not back.

[01:19:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Yep.

[01:19:25] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just a common thing.

[01:19:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Glenn Powell actually kept the grill of the Dodge ram that his character drives in the movie.

[01:19:33] [SPEAKER_01]: He kept that and made a table out of it.

[01:19:37] [SPEAKER_01]: But he tried to keep the belt buckle and the prop department called him and said, you have to return it.

[01:19:47] [SPEAKER_04]: They were still lost in.

[01:19:49] [SPEAKER_04]: What's the time?

[01:19:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Because of all like the COVID-19 and then the strikes and everything.

[01:19:57] [SPEAKER_01]: They were still filming this in December to February.

[01:20:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Like they were still filming even though it had a July release.

[01:20:08] [SPEAKER_01]: But they were able to make it post production has a work to do around the clock around the clock.

[01:20:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,

[01:20:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Lee as it chung really wanted it to be filmed in the Midwest because he grew up in the Midwest and he wanted it to have the authentic feel,

[01:20:27] [SPEAKER_01]: which is very similar to what um, yeah, the bond wanted with your original feel.

[01:20:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I would just call Oklahoma the South.

[01:20:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my goodness.

[01:20:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Myself.

[01:20:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[01:20:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not sure where like the lines are drawn but I don't ever think of Oklahoma as Midwest ever.

[01:20:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Well it's because Texas is so big in Texas itself.

[01:20:49] [SPEAKER_01]: The whole South is Texas.

[01:20:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, when we see that first tornado going through the town, there is a guy that picks up a coffee mug and on the coffee mug is written,

[01:21:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Manari.

[01:21:04] [SPEAKER_01]: So that was cool.

[01:21:06] [SPEAKER_01]: And no I didn't catch it.

[01:21:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I happen to do a little bit of research in different things.

[01:21:12] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a way that I do my synopsis finding.

[01:21:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I just go to IMDB for the synopsis and you go to the IMDB trivia page.

[01:21:21] [SPEAKER_01]: I just don't know what I do.

[01:21:26] [SPEAKER_01]: You're giving away my secrets.

[01:21:29] [SPEAKER_01]: You're so bad.

[01:21:31] [SPEAKER_04]: IMDB's such a great place it helps.

[01:21:33] [SPEAKER_01]: It is.

[01:21:34] [SPEAKER_01]: It helps.

[01:21:35] [SPEAKER_04]: It's magical.

[01:21:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I am the movie knowledge.

[01:21:37] [SPEAKER_01]: It is, but that's not the only place I go to dig things out.

[01:21:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I go to other places too.

[01:21:42] [SPEAKER_04]: You ask a jeeps.

[01:21:44] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't ask jeeps.

[01:21:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Did jeeps still exist?

[01:21:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[01:21:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Thank, you're going way back.

[01:21:51] [SPEAKER_01]: That sounds like the time of, like, my space.

[01:21:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, that's pretty much space.

[01:21:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Glenn Powell.

[01:21:59] [SPEAKER_01]: This is his second sequel because he was in top gum, Maverick also.

[01:22:04] [SPEAKER_01]: And that was another one that had came out what.

[01:22:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh.

[01:22:07] [SPEAKER_01]: But that one was even longer.

[01:22:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Like 30 something years after.

[01:22:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Which was also a really good movie.

[01:22:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Surprisingly, because I don't really care for the first top gun.

[01:22:18] [SPEAKER_04]: It's, if you don't come at me people, but it's not that great of a movie.

[01:22:24] [SPEAKER_04]: But, but Maverick was actually really good.

[01:22:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't join Maverick alone.

[01:22:28] [SPEAKER_01]: That is my aeropake and I, I'm probably breaking people's hearts,

[01:22:33] [SPEAKER_01]: but I'm not a big fan of it.

[01:22:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Like maybe I was at the time.

[01:22:38] [SPEAKER_01]: But I just have no interest in it now.

[01:22:45] [SPEAKER_01]: The last thing I'm going to say is Bill Paxton did try to get a sequel to this movie,

[01:22:51] [SPEAKER_01]: off the ground for years.

[01:22:52] [SPEAKER_01]: He wanted to tell a different story.

[01:22:55] [SPEAKER_01]: It just never really got anywhere.

[01:22:58] [SPEAKER_01]: It was going to be titled Twister 3D.

[01:23:01] [SPEAKER_01]: But it ended up getting canceled because of course Bill Paxton passed away in 2017.

[01:23:08] [SPEAKER_01]: And they were going to have Helen Hunt.

[01:23:12] [SPEAKER_01]: They were all these talks about Helen Hunt coming in and Joe and what would Joe be doing.

[01:23:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Will Joe could play Kate's brother?

[01:23:20] No.

[01:23:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Joe would not be sitting at a farm. Joe would be out somewhere else.

[01:23:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Like she'd still be chasing, tornado. She wouldn't have stopped.

[01:23:28] [SPEAKER_01]: So it just didn't work. They wanted to do something that's different.

[01:23:33] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think, obviously, I kind of like that.

[01:23:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I love that it's just, it's own thing.

[01:23:39] [SPEAKER_01]: There are plenty of little love letters to the original film.

[01:23:44] Yeah.

[01:23:46] [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't have to be like a bonafide sequel.

[01:23:50] [SPEAKER_01]: It can be standalone.

[01:23:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I really like that.

[01:23:58] [SPEAKER_04]: See you back, Fungo.

[01:24:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And off right away.

[01:24:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Hopefully that means we got some good feedback for this one.

[01:24:04] [SPEAKER_04]: People had some thoughts.

[01:24:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Let's see.

[01:24:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I hope so.

[01:24:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Alright, we do have a couple of pieces of feedback this week.

[01:24:12] [SPEAKER_04]: First one coming from Catherine.

[01:24:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Of course.

[01:24:17] [SPEAKER_04]: He has a lot to say on this one which is awesome.

[01:24:19] [SPEAKER_04]: It says, I waited in with very low expectations but was hooked in the first 15 minutes.

[01:24:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought it would be like the independent stay sequel with enough special effects to keep you entertained,

[01:24:28] [SPEAKER_04]: but not much character connection. I was so wrong.

[01:24:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I loved all the references to the original like the scarecrow, Lion and Ten Man teams

[01:24:35] [SPEAKER_04]: and I think Kate was dressed like Joe in one scene with the white tank and the shirt tighter on her waist.

[01:24:40] [SPEAKER_04]: The reporter reminded me of Melissa but I was glad to see he stuck it out.

[01:24:44] [SPEAKER_04]: The mad Max tornado truck was awesome even if anchoring the in front of the airport was a bit silly.

[01:24:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Fireworks in a tornado were probably silly too,

[01:24:52] [SPEAKER_04]: but I enjoyed every second and laughed too hard when they went off accidentally later.

[01:24:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I liked the strong focus on the science of tornadoes and the possibility of disrupting them,

[01:25:01] [SPEAKER_04]: but made saving human life the priority.

[01:25:03] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not as good as the original of course,

[01:25:05] [SPEAKER_04]: but I will happily watch both back to back in the future.

[01:25:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I fully agree.

[01:25:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think it holds up so well for sure.

[01:25:14] [SPEAKER_04]: She just continued to say, so I started watching The Twisters also a 24 release by mistake.

[01:25:19] [SPEAKER_04]: New it was very, very, very wrong after the first minute and while I attempted to finish it on two times speed,

[01:25:25] [SPEAKER_04]: while skipping a lot of dialogue scenes, I failed.

[01:25:27] [SPEAKER_04]: It wasn't even good enough for sci-fi.

[01:25:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh no!

[01:25:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I have not even heard of that and um...

[01:25:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And I don't want to.

[01:25:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to turn it on.

[01:25:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Just say you're warning us from something.

[01:25:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[01:25:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you Catherine for the warning.

[01:25:44] [SPEAKER_01]: You will save us from wasting even five minutes of our time.

[01:25:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, Alma also wrote in.

[01:25:53] [SPEAKER_01]: She said I was sleeping on this movie, but I finally went to see it in the theater and loved it.

[01:25:59] Yeah, I was.

[01:26:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I think we mentioned this one here.

[01:26:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Again, I don't remember if we talked about this before recording or during the recording episode,

[01:26:07] [SPEAKER_04]: but he had a vision because you didn't go see it in theaters.

[01:26:09] [SPEAKER_01]: No, and I wish I had.

[01:26:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And I did, because I could get out of the movie we recorded this conversation or not.

[01:26:14] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, I was like, I'm glad that I did, because this was definitely an awesome theater movie for sure.

[01:26:21] [SPEAKER_01]: I wish I had seen it in the theater because

[01:26:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Can just imagine this around sound and yeah, I think it would have been super cool.

[01:26:31] [SPEAKER_01]: My own mistake that I have to live with.

[01:26:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Forever and ever.

[01:26:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep.

[01:27:12] [SPEAKER_01]: We really appreciate it.

[01:27:14] [SPEAKER_04]: We do indeed, of course we can share the love.

[01:27:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Gotta give this shout out to things going on in the podcast universe around us.

[01:27:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, a lot of great stuff going on over on the cast of us.

[01:27:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Previously, a walking dead cast still doing some walking dead stuff.

[01:27:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe be on the lookout for some last of us coming up soon though,

[01:27:33] [SPEAKER_04]: because I know the season 2 trailer did just drop.

[01:27:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I haven't watched it and probably won't, but I know those who do enjoy it.

[01:27:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe they'll talk about it.

[01:27:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[01:27:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I know things about the game.

[01:27:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Jason does not like to watch trailers at a time.

[01:27:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so maybe not.

[01:27:50] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's out there, so definitely that conversation about that show is going to be getting more and more.

[01:27:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Soon.

[01:27:58] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, definitely check that out.

[01:28:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Right now they've been doing the walking dead rewatch and stuff like that.

[01:28:03] [SPEAKER_04]: They're going to be taking a little break from that this week.

[01:28:05] [SPEAKER_04]: They put up kind of a catchup episode for the first season of Darrell Dixon because the walking dead.

[01:28:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Colin, Darrell Dixon, don't look at the camera.

[01:28:16] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like the second season or whatever.

[01:28:19] [SPEAKER_04]: But that comes out actually if you're listening to this the day we released this in two days.

[01:28:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Like this weekend, Sunday the first episode is coming out.

[01:28:25] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, they got to catch up.

[01:28:28] [SPEAKER_04]: It's out now and then they'll be diving right into season two right after it airs this weekend.

[01:28:33] [SPEAKER_04]: So definitely stay tuned for that.

[01:28:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Over on the Marvel TV cast we have Jim and Penny covering Agatha all along the new Disney plus limited series which I'm absolutely loving.

[01:28:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's really great.

[01:28:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Katherine Honne is just a, she's a special.

[01:28:51] [SPEAKER_04]: So funny.

[01:28:52] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, I'm really enjoying that show so they'll be covering that over on the Marvel TV cast.

[01:28:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I think the first episodes up now.

[01:28:58] [SPEAKER_04]: So you can check that out as well as they go through that series.

[01:29:02] [SPEAKER_04]: What is from cast?

[01:29:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Because yes, finally we talk about it so much even in the off season.

[01:29:07] [SPEAKER_04]: MGM plus from is finally back for season three.

[01:29:11] [SPEAKER_04]: We had the first episode aired.

[01:29:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Next episode will be second episode will be this weekend as well.

[01:29:17] [SPEAKER_04]: So make sure to check that out.

[01:29:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Alex and Lizzy dive right back into that full speed ahead.

[01:29:22] [SPEAKER_04]: And also doing the immediate YouTube show as well.

[01:29:25] [SPEAKER_04]: They're doing like immediate reaction YouTube videos over on the YouTube channel.

[01:29:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And for this first episode not only did they get on there and talk about the episode,

[01:29:34] [SPEAKER_04]: but if you are one of the amazing awesome wonderful incredible people who is watching from then you would know the cast.

[01:29:40] [SPEAKER_04]: They actually had Elizabeth Moy who plays Mrs. Liu, Kenny's mom on their after show to talk all kinds of stuff about her character

[01:29:50] [SPEAKER_04]: and things working on the show in this season in previous stuff.

[01:29:54] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's really cool to go check out they had one of the most beloved people on that show right now to come on

[01:30:00] [SPEAKER_04]: and talk about the episode right after.

[01:30:03] [SPEAKER_04]: It's really really cool.

[01:30:03] [SPEAKER_04]: So definitely go check that out.

[01:30:05] [SPEAKER_04]: And then if you haven't watched from freaking watch from.

[01:30:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's such a great series.

[01:30:12] [SPEAKER_01]: If you watch to lost, it's the same show runners.

[01:30:16] [SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like they learn something from doing loss because this show, while it has some of the same elements,

[01:30:29] [SPEAKER_01]: it's even more.

[01:30:32] [SPEAKER_01]: I would say that it's definitely really well constructed, not that long as wasn't.

[01:30:39] [SPEAKER_01]: But they're doing a really good job with this and people more people should be watching it.

[01:30:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's this is getting this picking up steam but yeah definitely check out from and then let us from cask because they're doing a pretty much job over there.

[01:30:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Then for the cast of the rings which is of course covering the Amazon Prime rings of power TV show.

[01:30:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Penny and Annwin continuing on through season two of that with their episode six halls of stone coverage this week can go check that out as well on podcast account.

[01:31:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And then the handmaid's tail podcast has a new episode of this week as well even though handmaid's tail not back yet.

[01:31:15] [SPEAKER_04]: But just with the kind of political landscape and things right now and election, it is an election year election month election day coming up sooner and sooner.

[01:31:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, yeah within you know just a little over a month away.

[01:31:31] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's crazy to think about so yeah.

[01:31:33] [SPEAKER_04]: So if you're politically minded in certain ways and you know definitely check out their episode they put over on the handmaid's tail podcast just talking about a lot of just you know the political landscape and ideas right now.

[01:31:44] [SPEAKER_04]: So usually in podcast could not too much of a political podcast but over or you know network but over there for sure.

[01:31:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And important one if you are more politically minded to go check out.

[01:31:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And while I'm on that because we haven't said anything I kind of meant to and I keep forgetting to because as I mentioned it is election day coming up soon.

[01:32:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Here at podcast to go no matter you know what your beliefs where you're going.

[01:32:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Make sure you if you're living here in the United States make sure your voice is her because it is very important.

[01:32:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean it seems like every election year is the most important election year ever but like.

[01:32:17] [SPEAKER_04]: It truly is if you want your voice heard and you want to be able to have that you know those conversations thoroughly then like.

[01:32:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Be a part of it be a part of change or whatever you want to look forward so if you are not registered to vote.

[01:32:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Definitely do that there's still time and get it get it done and yeah go out vote in November.

[01:32:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes always just an important civil duty that I think way too many people take for granted so much and.

[01:32:42] [SPEAKER_04]: It's something that we are very lucky to have the opportunity to do so take advantage of it people.

[01:32:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes definitely.

[01:32:50] [SPEAKER_04]: But lastly outside of that and outside of podcast could give some love to some other.

[01:32:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Friends of ours of course TV podcasts industries always do in the heavy lift and covering all the great stuff working hard.

[01:33:02] [SPEAKER_04]: With rings of power and Agatha all along both being covered over there as well so you can check out Derek and John in their coverage on TV podcast industries.

[01:33:11] [SPEAKER_01]: They're also pay believe it or not in addition.

[01:33:14] [SPEAKER_01]: They're also covering the penguin.

[01:33:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Alright there you go penguin as well.

[01:33:20] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah check that out DC people.

[01:33:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah they've always been a lot of good like DC stuff over there so yeah that makes sense for sure.

[01:33:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah they're very busy.

[01:33:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah and then if you want to hear more of me in Daphne for you know whatever reason we you know he's check out you know he's check out Buffalo Buffalo.

[01:33:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Our podcast with Jeff and Jerry we're just like joking around hanging out playing games doing goofy stuff where I was having just a lot of fun over there.

[01:33:48] [SPEAKER_04]: A little break from our usual TV and movie conversations.

[01:33:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Just having fun so yeah definitely go check it out quick 30 minute episodes.

[01:33:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I think we'll like it if you like listening to this every week.

[01:34:01] [SPEAKER_04]: If you hear enjoy our voices here.

[01:34:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure you will enjoy hearing us there with our good friends Jeff and Jerry.

[01:34:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And then usually this the point where I'd say you know you can come back here next week and we'll have something for you except you cannot you're not allowed to do not come back here next week.

[01:34:17] [SPEAKER_04]: We will have nothing for you know but but for real because we are taking the week off next week because we are having our own podcast to come meet up with hosts and some listeners and stuff if you're part of like the patreon group and stuff.

[01:34:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure you've heard about it over the past year really so yeah we are all getting together a lot of us in a Galveston taxes this year hang out do some fun stuff.

[01:34:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Good we're gonna be like can in the Barbie movie which is our job for the whole weekend is going to be beach so yeah.

[01:34:47] [SPEAKER_04]: We just have a fun time.

[01:34:49] [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have such a great time it's really a great opportunity to see people that you only get to hang out with maybe once a year.

[01:34:57] [SPEAKER_01]: And so it's something we always look forward to and it's going to be great because well we're going to record a little something while they are probably not for run for your lives but for buffalo buffalo.

[01:35:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah so special stuff but yeah for a regular lives we need to send it we'll just kind of take the next week off so go back and listen to some old episodes of you you know not fully caught up or.

[01:35:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Share it with some friends do something but yeah we'll be back because yeah just between recording and editing and.

[01:35:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Feedback and posting and all that stuff it's like we're going to be in vacation mode so yeah we'll come back and do that again the week after.

[01:35:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah and you know what the cool thing is and I'm just going to tease it.

[01:35:39] [SPEAKER_01]: The episode that we're coming back with in two weeks is one that we don't really need any feedback for it's one that's special and one that I think is going to give our audience.

[01:35:54] [SPEAKER_01]: More of a glimpse behind the curtain.

[01:35:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:35:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Something to look forward to for a little bit.

[01:36:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:36:02] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah.

[01:36:04] [SPEAKER_01]: With that we've reached the end of another fun episode.

[01:36:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for listening. I'm Daphne and I am big and if you have to run you better run for your lives.

[01:36:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Bye bye.
