[00:00:00] We got a guy here named Dagfinn who will only speak directly to the dead boy detective.

[00:00:11] MOVE!

[00:00:12] I need someone to get these damn ghosts out of my lighthouse.

[00:00:16] Wait, wait, your name is...is Dagfinn?

[00:00:19] Hi, and I've been haunting the lighthouse at Point No Point for decades.

[00:00:24] Then in the last two days people start showing up and throwing themselves off the widows

[00:00:27] walking into the sound.

[00:00:28] People are killing themselves?

[00:00:30] Aye, two so far.

[00:00:32] And the bad part is now I got these extra ghosts of the newly dead sulking and loitering.

[00:00:36] If I wanted to be around people I'd haunt her denny's.

[00:00:39] Have the police been there?

[00:00:40] It's a small town they would know if...

[00:00:42] There are no bodies.

[00:00:43] Gone as soon as they hit the water.

[00:00:45] So the police don't know anything far as I can tell.

[00:00:48] Your agency's better equipped anyhow.

[00:00:50] And we could save some lives.

[00:00:52] Sure, but mostly just get me my solitude back.

[00:00:55] Quite unusual for ghosts to collect like that.

[00:00:58] There must be a reason they are lingering.

[00:01:13] Hey listeners, welcome to the show.

[00:01:15] I'm Jamie.

[00:01:16] And I'm Mark.

[00:01:17] And this is a spoiler-full podcast about the Dead Boy Detective Season 1 Episode 4,

[00:01:23] The Case of the Lighthouse Leapers.

[00:01:26] Leaping Lanny Leapers.

[00:01:30] Yeah, the synopsis for this particular episode is the gang looks into a disturbing trend

[00:01:36] of deaths at a lighthouse.

[00:01:38] Very simple, straight to the point, something I got directly off of Netflix.

[00:01:43] Yeah.

[00:01:45] I mean it's exactly what happened.

[00:01:47] Literally.

[00:01:48] Literally it is.

[00:01:49] A lot went on within the episode that just didn't associate with the lighthouse leapers.

[00:01:56] Yeah.

[00:01:56] It was like its own...

[00:01:57] That was just like a minute story in my opinion in comparison to the overall story that we get.

[00:02:04] And we get to learn a lot too, which I enjoyed.

[00:02:07] So my thoughts are like, I love we get more stuff about Charles.

[00:02:12] Yeah.

[00:02:12] More stuff about Charles and stuff that we've been wanting and wanting and we do.

[00:02:17] And we get this little bit of nuggets as I said the last episode and I'm really enjoying that.

[00:02:22] A little bit more Nico and a lot of humor from Nico, which I'm loving.

[00:02:27] And Edwin is so sweet with her.

[00:02:30] Yes.

[00:02:30] He cuts her so much slack.

[00:02:34] Which is good.

[00:02:35] I mean, I think it's all well-deserved but it's nice to see him like loosen up around her.

[00:02:39] That is definitely true about those two and it seems like they're the good partners together.

[00:02:46] Whereas Charles and Crystal are the good partners.

[00:02:49] Well, they're a different kind of partner now.

[00:02:51] Well, yeah.

[00:02:52] Do we get authorization for that?

[00:02:54] You know, do we get confirmation that they are boom boom down?

[00:02:58] They made out at the end.

[00:03:00] It's not boom boom down.

[00:03:02] It's implied.

[00:03:03] We don't know that that happened yet.

[00:03:05] It's implied.

[00:03:07] We know it can happen.

[00:03:08] Yeah, we know it can happen.

[00:03:10] And we know they kissed and then they drop off screen.

[00:03:12] Yeah, that is true.

[00:03:14] So maybe we get maybe it's boom boom after the show goes to go to credits.

[00:03:19] And then we get a little bit more weird things about Jenny.

[00:03:24] Yes, but she 100% is not supernatural and cannot see ghosts.

[00:03:29] Yep, because we know that because the interaction between Nico and Crystal and seeing people.

[00:03:35] And what was his name?

[00:03:38] Dacfin the lighthouse keeper.

[00:03:41] Yes.

[00:03:42] When he came barging in.

[00:03:43] Yes.

[00:03:46] Yeah.

[00:03:46] And then she goes what's wrong with you guys?

[00:03:51] I really like that.

[00:03:52] And the fact is, it's like it.

[00:03:53] I first I went like the promos for this particular episode.

[00:03:58] If you look at them, you don't think he's a ghost.

[00:04:01] You think he's just a regular lighthouse keeper or something.

[00:04:04] Yeah, it's just somebody that that's a ghost at the lighthouse going great.

[00:04:08] These people just keep jumping off of whatever.

[00:04:11] Yeah, I don't want these ghosts here and they're not leaving in a typical story that we do get out of anything that's by the water.

[00:04:18] Now, this is Portsmouth, Washington, I believe.

[00:04:21] Yeah.

[00:04:22] So it kind of gave me feels and I don't know if you felt the same way.

[00:04:26] Or is it or is it Oregon or Washington?

[00:04:28] I think it's Washington.

[00:04:29] I think it's Washington.

[00:04:30] Yeah, somebody had mentioned that but there was one scene with little girls where you got the of all things.

[00:04:38] I believe what's her name?

[00:04:42] The head of the lost and found Department of the afterlife.

[00:04:44] She's like the night nurse as you would call her.

[00:04:47] Okay, that's a good way to give her a name.

[00:04:50] But she she like talks to these two girls in disguise, I guess, were way she can make her presence there and they're playing with swords, fake swords and saying how there's more viscera and everything.

[00:05:03] It just reminded me of downtown Salem, Massachusetts.

[00:05:07] You weren't there with us.

[00:05:08] I was not there.

[00:05:10] Yeah, you weren't there when we had our little podcasters retreat in Massachusetts for podcasts.

[00:05:16] I was in Massachusetts.

[00:05:17] I just didn't go to Salem.

[00:05:18] Yeah, we you were in situ.

[00:05:19] It's still hanging around with everybody.

[00:05:22] I didn't feel like sitting in a car when I was going to sit in a car for six hours the next day.

[00:05:27] Wasn't that long?

[00:05:28] Honestly, it took us like 40 minutes to get there.

[00:05:30] I thought it was longer than that.

[00:05:32] No, it took us about 40 minutes.

[00:05:34] You know, the only person that fell asleep was Des Carrie and I talked the whole way and cat laughed at the fact that I kept her preoccupied with just talking, talking, talking, talking as I drove and talked about mass holes.

[00:05:46] Not to like really insult anybody in Massachusetts, but there are things that people say about New York drivers and as well as Connecticut drivers.

[00:05:54] But I I found it funny, but I it had such a clear distinction of what similarities I should say not distinction of like Salem, Massachusetts.

[00:06:06] It is something by the water because all that stuff is by the water.

[00:06:10] If you go to Boston, Salem, Salem is notorious with its water and how it looks.

[00:06:18] And of course, this is by a lighthouse.

[00:06:20] And who doesn't love a lighthouse story?

[00:06:24] There's lots of ghost stories with lighthouses.

[00:06:26] Exactly.

[00:06:27] And I love the the visuals.

[00:06:30] We didn't get as many as I would want during a day of the lighthouse with the ghosts.

[00:06:36] But we only got that one where you see them leaping off.

[00:06:39] Yeah, but they were averting disaster where hundreds where there could have been hundreds of ghosts had it been one more day.

[00:06:46] Yes, because of the kite festival.

[00:06:48] Very true.

[00:06:49] But yeah, I really did enjoy the episode overall.

[00:06:53] I like the story that we got within it with the lighthouse.

[00:06:56] I love the fact that we got more information about Charles.

[00:06:59] I like a little nuanced information about Jenny.

[00:07:02] Yeah, she's got a secret admirer.

[00:07:05] We got to see.

[00:07:06] Would you say would you call it a mermaid?

[00:07:08] Because that's my feeling.

[00:07:09] It's a they were very clear that it was not a mermaid.

[00:07:11] Okay, I still think it's a mermaid the way it is.

[00:07:14] It's an anglerfish.

[00:07:15] It's a giant anglerfish.

[00:07:17] That's an anglerfish.

[00:07:18] But the thing is, it's the call of the sea.

[00:07:21] Mermaid says I like sirens.

[00:07:23] Very clear.

[00:07:24] I know, but they were leaf things.

[00:07:26] They were very clear that it was not a mermaid.

[00:07:29] Okay, they were very clear that it was Angie the yes, the monster.

[00:07:34] Yes, and they showed her picture and then we saw her come out of the water.

[00:07:37] She is a giant anglerfish.

[00:07:39] That's not the same picture.

[00:07:40] We saw when not in the not in the shop, but in the magic shop.

[00:07:47] Yes, in the magic shop.

[00:07:48] We got that there in the magic shop.

[00:07:50] We saw her picture.

[00:07:51] We saw a Lilith.

[00:07:52] We saw Lilith and the mermaids in the shop shop.

[00:07:56] Yes.

[00:07:57] Yes.

[00:07:58] Yeah, that's and that was interesting.

[00:08:01] I like that.

[00:08:02] Yeah, because it's kind of like a diversion.

[00:08:04] It's like you're looking for the mermaids.

[00:08:08] You're thinking it's Lilith and then I was thinking it was a great diversion

[00:08:11] because I was thinking to say, oh, like I'm like, oh, it's a siren.

[00:08:14] It's what I saw it right away.

[00:08:16] Yeah, Odyssey is the siren.

[00:08:17] It's the mermaids.

[00:08:19] And then the shop owners like that's nonsense.

[00:08:23] That's just something to degrade women.

[00:08:28] There is no there is no mermaids.

[00:08:31] Man, I love the shop owner too.

[00:08:35] I looked into it.

[00:08:36] His name is tragic Mac.

[00:08:38] Well, wait, wait, the magic shop or the break because I was just

[00:08:43] talking about the regular shop.

[00:08:44] The magic shop magic shop.

[00:08:46] Okay.

[00:08:46] Magic.

[00:08:47] Dangerous woman propaganda.

[00:08:48] That was what she called the mermaids.

[00:08:51] Yes.

[00:08:52] Yeah.

[00:08:52] Tragic Mac who is he likes to call himself the walrus and he

[00:08:56] wants to turn back into a walrus.

[00:08:58] That's why he wants to get in touch.

[00:09:00] Well, I wouldn't because do you know which could actually turn

[00:09:05] me back?

[00:09:06] I want the story of how he became a human.

[00:09:09] There's gotta be another story in this.

[00:09:12] No, he's a ghost.

[00:09:14] Yeah, or somebody who died and came back.

[00:09:18] He's something.

[00:09:19] He's an X.

[00:09:21] He's the owner.

[00:09:21] He's the proprietor of the magic shop.

[00:09:23] That's all we know for sure.

[00:09:25] Exactly.

[00:09:26] He can he's supernatural in some way because he can see

[00:09:28] the boys.

[00:09:29] That is true.

[00:09:30] And he was the walrus King, which I wonder is it like

[00:09:33] the cat King like does every animal have a King?

[00:09:36] That'd be interesting to find out or is he like the

[00:09:39] walrus in the world's in the carpenter from Alice

[00:09:42] in Wonderland.

[00:09:42] Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

[00:09:47] It was poor little oysters.

[00:09:49] Yeah, I know.

[00:09:50] All right, but anyhow to move into it kind of like

[00:09:54] talked about initial thoughts.

[00:09:55] So you had any more thoughts on the overall about

[00:09:58] the episode with what you liked or read it like now?

[00:10:01] I really liked it.

[00:10:02] I mean, I love the ocean.

[00:10:03] So anything with an ocean theme has got me for sure.

[00:10:07] Each episode has gotten better.

[00:10:09] Yes, and it's not to say anything bad about the

[00:10:11] previous episodes, but like it keeps you intrigued

[00:10:14] about what's going on and actually made mention

[00:10:16] today at work because a lot of my friends have

[00:10:18] this a few of them that have not watched this

[00:10:21] show and I said I'm watching it and I said look

[00:10:23] I'd start watching and it's like well, I don't

[00:10:25] tell them and they're like, oh get me intrigued.

[00:10:27] I really should be watching this show now other

[00:10:30] than you and Tony.

[00:10:30] I don't know anybody who's watching it.

[00:10:34] I know somebody who has watched it completely our

[00:10:36] friend Derek and John from TV podcast industry.

[00:10:39] So already have completed their coverage on it.

[00:10:42] But yeah, they and they're listening to so

[00:10:47] Lara and Daniel and I for interview with the

[00:10:49] vampire for a vamp cast which is interesting

[00:10:53] and there I was surprised they didn't even get

[00:10:56] into interview but they finished up.

[00:11:00] They had a good time and he's glad that we're

[00:11:02] actually doing individually.

[00:11:04] I thought it was pretty cool.

[00:11:05] I like that idea that because they were doing

[00:11:07] I believe two at a time and they would do

[00:11:09] yeah, they I think they did the first one

[00:11:11] on its own and then two at a time.

[00:11:13] Yeah, I've been listening to them after we

[00:11:15] record so or like half an episode like after

[00:11:18] members like I when I'm listening to like

[00:11:20] I can't yeah have you will stop it goes to

[00:11:22] the next episode.

[00:11:23] So you don't cheat.

[00:11:25] Yeah, but they're they're doing a great job.

[00:11:28] Yeah, and he was liking what we do but and

[00:11:31] Derek and I were talking about the what

[00:11:33] we'll get to later the Sandman trailer that

[00:11:35] came out today.

[00:11:36] Okay, we could talk about at the end for

[00:11:38] like yes information what I actually did

[00:11:42] like about it was the fact that Edwin is

[00:11:44] still counting cats and then he has his

[00:11:46] little interaction with the cat gang and

[00:11:49] 142 it's not 142 Edwin and then he kind

[00:11:53] of even think for a second that it's

[00:11:55] 142 I would say 1142 possibly right possibly

[00:12:01] could be more and we were talking we

[00:12:03] don't know how big this town is.

[00:12:04] Yeah, exactly.

[00:12:06] But you figure there's probably at least

[00:12:08] what 10,000 people in the town and if

[00:12:10] half of the households have cats in the

[00:12:12] house.

[00:12:13] Yeah, I mean there's got to be at

[00:12:14] least thousands of cats.

[00:12:17] I feel like there were more than 142 in

[00:12:18] the episode where he got brought to

[00:12:20] the cat king.

[00:12:23] Yeah, I feel the same way too.

[00:12:25] It's like Edwin's deluding himself trying

[00:12:28] to get out of this as soon as he can

[00:12:29] a little I feel like he's been deluding

[00:12:31] himself his whole life.

[00:12:32] We did find out something very interesting

[00:12:34] about both the cat King and Edwin at

[00:12:36] the same time.

[00:12:37] Go ahead spoil us.

[00:12:41] The cat King has like a truth serum

[00:12:43] me ability.

[00:12:46] He can make people tell the truth and

[00:12:47] Edwin admitted that the real reason

[00:12:50] he's doing the dead boy detectives is

[00:12:52] so that if he goes back to hell he

[00:12:53] can negotiate his way to a better

[00:12:56] position.

[00:12:57] Yeah, I got that too and also

[00:13:00] the cat King and his love of teasing

[00:13:05] Edwin with his boy interests with

[00:13:09] Monty and taking on the guises of

[00:13:11] Monty and Charles.

[00:13:13] Yeah, I could do which one do you

[00:13:15] want and yeah.

[00:13:18] Edwin admitted somewhat admitted with

[00:13:21] Nico that he's intrigued by Monty

[00:13:23] and that he might want to kiss

[00:13:24] Monty.

[00:13:26] But the Edwin thing that that

[00:13:29] literally took his breath away.

[00:13:31] Or the Charles thing literally took

[00:13:33] Edwin's breath away.

[00:13:34] Yeah, I did and I mean we knew

[00:13:36] it from beginning that he had

[00:13:37] something he had deep down.

[00:13:42] Yeah, he was hiding his feelings

[00:13:44] about Charles for years.

[00:13:45] It's just that what are those?

[00:13:46] He was hiding his sexuality like

[00:13:49] he comes from a time like he said

[00:13:50] it in an earlier episode like but

[00:13:52] he's a boy and I'm a boy.

[00:13:53] These things don't happen like

[00:13:55] yeah, I mean he's what 1516

[00:13:57] years old.

[00:13:58] He doesn't know gay is okay.

[00:14:01] Yeah, but it is the 21st.

[00:14:04] So well, he's learning from

[00:14:06] Nico and he's learning from

[00:14:07] the time that he's in now

[00:14:09] the 21st century and now

[00:14:11] there I think they're more

[00:14:12] interactive with the world in

[00:14:14] comparison to where they were

[00:14:15] before where they just literally

[00:14:18] dealt with the real world for

[00:14:21] just a detective agency and

[00:14:22] that's it.

[00:14:23] They'd never they've got two

[00:14:26] people in that are living in

[00:14:28] the present day.

[00:14:29] Yeah, in the real world and

[00:14:31] they're experiencing the real

[00:14:33] world through crystal and

[00:14:35] ego and through them.

[00:14:37] They're actually I think I

[00:14:39] hate saying it.

[00:14:39] It's embracing life and I

[00:14:41] think at the very end there

[00:14:43] at the very end of the either

[00:14:45] series season depending

[00:14:48] they're going to wind up

[00:14:49] feeling well, we feel more

[00:14:50] alive now than we ever did

[00:14:52] before.

[00:14:53] They both seem to have had

[00:14:54] tragic lives and they've

[00:14:55] had tragic lives which we

[00:14:57] see in Charles.

[00:14:58] We saw the use of his dad

[00:15:00] towards him and that was

[00:15:02] really hard to watch and

[00:15:04] then Charles being abused

[00:15:07] by not only his father but

[00:15:08] his peers left and find out

[00:15:11] that he dies from hypothermia.

[00:15:13] Yeah, because they were thrown

[00:15:14] they threw him in the lake

[00:15:16] or something and he was

[00:15:17] standing up for somebody else.

[00:15:19] Yeah, he was used don't know

[00:15:20] right thing for somebody

[00:15:22] and oh my God just to

[00:15:25] go through that because it's

[00:15:26] literally a reflection from

[00:15:29] the head of the lost and

[00:15:30] found apartment with the

[00:15:31] afterlife throwing that in

[00:15:33] his face and just bringing

[00:15:34] up all that information at

[00:15:35] the very end which by

[00:15:37] honestly everybody I like it

[00:15:38] the fact that we got Angie

[00:15:40] or what did we call that

[00:15:43] thing?

[00:15:44] The angler fish angler fish.

[00:15:45] There we go.

[00:15:46] Wines of the sea monster

[00:15:48] sea monster.

[00:15:49] There it is not Sigmund

[00:15:51] everybody, but I'm showing

[00:15:52] my age at that point.

[00:15:54] Sigmund in the sea monsters

[00:15:57] but she gets eaten by that

[00:15:58] which I don't think is

[00:15:59] truly being eaten at

[00:16:01] that point.

[00:16:02] Well, yeah, she's already

[00:16:04] a ghost in some way shape

[00:16:05] or form.

[00:16:06] But she's not taking the

[00:16:07] boys back with them.

[00:16:09] No, no, no, no, but she

[00:16:11] got so close to doing

[00:16:13] that. She knows where

[00:16:15] crystal is.

[00:16:16] Chances of the boys going

[00:16:17] back to the beach are

[00:16:18] probably pretty slim.

[00:16:19] Very slow, but she knows

[00:16:20] where crystal is.

[00:16:21] Can she go back to that

[00:16:23] spot? Like I don't know

[00:16:24] what the bureaucracy is

[00:16:25] like.

[00:16:25] Like I'm going to I'm

[00:16:26] interested to see how her

[00:16:28] story continues now that

[00:16:29] she's gotten so close to

[00:16:30] them.

[00:16:31] Yeah, it's really

[00:16:33] interesting when it comes

[00:16:34] to that because of she's

[00:16:36] involved to that point,

[00:16:37] but we already know with

[00:16:39] the company that's looking

[00:16:41] for both Edwin and

[00:16:42] Charles.

[00:16:43] They only have lost and

[00:16:44] found department.

[00:16:45] Yeah, I know.

[00:16:46] I think I've said it a

[00:16:47] few times already and

[00:16:48] it still hasn't clicked

[00:16:49] in. But regardless,

[00:16:51] they they have like

[00:16:52] a certain trajectory

[00:16:54] of area that they can

[00:16:55] only work with.

[00:16:57] Yeah, they said it

[00:16:58] was two kilometers,

[00:16:59] I believe.

[00:17:00] Yeah.

[00:17:01] Whatever.

[00:17:01] Don't remember if there

[00:17:02] was a time period given

[00:17:03] like if she only has

[00:17:04] a certain amount.

[00:17:04] Yes, there is a time

[00:17:05] 24 hours.

[00:17:08] I think it was either

[00:17:08] 2448.

[00:17:10] Yeah, but if we got

[00:17:11] that wrong, let us know.

[00:17:13] Yeah, the question is

[00:17:14] can she go back?

[00:17:15] How long is going to

[00:17:16] take her to go back?

[00:17:17] And then there's the

[00:17:17] paperwork that you have

[00:17:18] to file again to go back.

[00:17:22] And how long that

[00:17:22] takes.

[00:17:24] And we know she's

[00:17:25] going to take Edwin

[00:17:26] to hell.

[00:17:27] Yes.

[00:17:27] She implied that,

[00:17:28] but nobody knows

[00:17:29] where Charles is

[00:17:30] going to go yet.

[00:17:31] Charles's fate has

[00:17:32] not been decided.

[00:17:33] Yeah, for the fact

[00:17:34] that I think that

[00:17:35] has to do with the

[00:17:36] fact the way he died

[00:17:38] because he a deal

[00:17:40] wasn't made with

[00:17:41] the devil or a demon

[00:17:43] with Edwin.

[00:17:43] That was what was

[00:17:45] that was Edwin.

[00:17:46] Yeah, but Charles

[00:17:48] didn't have that.

[00:17:49] Charles was abused

[00:17:51] and neglected

[00:17:52] and killed.

[00:17:55] Technically,

[00:17:55] it said he died

[00:17:57] from complications

[00:17:58] of the hypothermia

[00:18:00] and stuff which was

[00:18:01] caused by people

[00:18:02] abusing them,

[00:18:03] but they covered it up

[00:18:04] at the school.

[00:18:05] Yeah, so it wasn't.

[00:18:07] Yeah, I wasn't a

[00:18:08] non warrant

[00:18:10] and I'm not natural death.

[00:18:13] It wasn't a natural death,

[00:18:14] whereas Edwin,

[00:18:15] it wasn't a natural death.

[00:18:16] It was more a of

[00:18:19] I would say demonic or

[00:18:21] he was taken right to hell.

[00:18:22] Like he was just

[00:18:23] grabbed.

[00:18:24] His death didn't come

[00:18:25] for him.

[00:18:25] Yes.

[00:18:26] So I don't know

[00:18:27] if he was waiting

[00:18:28] around and grabbed

[00:18:30] Charles.

[00:18:31] Like I'm interested

[00:18:32] to see.

[00:18:33] I'm interested to see

[00:18:34] how those two met

[00:18:34] and I'm interested

[00:18:35] to see more of

[00:18:36] Edwin's backstory.

[00:18:37] Like I feel like

[00:18:38] we've got a real good feel

[00:18:39] for Charles at this point,

[00:18:41] but I had one.

[00:18:42] We kind of just saw

[00:18:44] him being grabbed

[00:18:45] and brought down

[00:18:46] attack bounds

[00:18:47] and he was set up

[00:18:48] for the sacrifice

[00:18:50] and the demon

[00:18:52] takes care of the other kids.

[00:18:53] They go to dust

[00:18:55] and then

[00:18:56] then he goes,

[00:18:57] Oh, I'm allowed to go

[00:18:59] then he goes no

[00:19:00] but you go to hell

[00:19:01] and that's it.

[00:19:02] And then yeah,

[00:19:03] yeah,

[00:19:04] it sucks.

[00:19:06] He got the short end

[00:19:07] of the stick

[00:19:07] because he was being

[00:19:08] to be a sacrifice

[00:19:10] and then on

[00:19:11] he had never even

[00:19:12] kissed anyone.

[00:19:14] Yeah,

[00:19:14] he brought that up to Niko

[00:19:17] because he never saw

[00:19:17] the point in it.

[00:19:21] He was more about his studies

[00:19:23] just like now he is now

[00:19:24] but now he might see

[00:19:26] a point in it

[00:19:27] with either.

[00:19:28] Yeah,

[00:19:28] with Monty

[00:19:29] which

[00:19:30] I'm so idea

[00:19:31] bad idea.

[00:19:33] Right.

[00:19:35] I want Monty

[00:19:36] to not know

[00:19:37] that he's a pawn.

[00:19:39] I want Monty

[00:19:40] to be a good guy

[00:19:41] for Edwin.

[00:19:43] Yes.

[00:19:43] Yes.

[00:19:44] I want him to not know

[00:19:45] that he is

[00:19:47] actually a bad guy

[00:19:47] or at least working

[00:19:48] for a bad guy.

[00:19:50] I think we're going to

[00:19:51] get a realization

[00:19:52] from Monty

[00:19:53] of who he works for

[00:19:55] and then having

[00:19:56] the halfway point

[00:19:57] right now.

[00:19:58] Yeah,

[00:19:58] I wouldn't be surprised

[00:19:59] if Monty

[00:20:00] is put in a position

[00:20:01] by Esther

[00:20:02] to do something

[00:20:04] and

[00:20:05] he doesn't want to do it

[00:20:06] because there's affections

[00:20:07] for Edwin.

[00:20:09] And then

[00:20:10] again,

[00:20:10] it kind of gets turned around

[00:20:11] the group like they call

[00:20:13] him their friend.

[00:20:14] Yeah.

[00:20:15] When he shows up at the

[00:20:17] butcher.

[00:20:18] Yeah,

[00:20:19] he shows up at Jenny's.

[00:20:21] Yeah,

[00:20:21] like they're

[00:20:22] oh,

[00:20:22] he's our new friend.

[00:20:27] Which is so funny

[00:20:28] because Jenny can see him

[00:20:29] no problem.

[00:20:30] He's not a ghost.

[00:20:32] He is

[00:20:33] a creation.

[00:20:35] Yeah.

[00:20:36] Yeah.

[00:20:37] Well,

[00:20:37] he was a crow turned

[00:20:38] into a person.

[00:20:39] Yeah,

[00:20:40] she called him

[00:20:41] she called the crow her familiar.

[00:20:43] Yes,

[00:20:44] like any which normally does

[00:20:45] like with a dog

[00:20:46] or cat or

[00:20:48] and then

[00:20:50] she can't remember

[00:20:51] if she called

[00:20:52] what he is

[00:20:53] but he's not a ghost.

[00:20:54] He's something else

[00:20:55] entirely.

[00:20:56] Yeah,

[00:20:56] her anomaly.

[00:20:58] Yeah.

[00:21:01] But yeah,

[00:21:02] I could see

[00:21:04] something good

[00:21:05] coming out of Monty.

[00:21:07] And I hope so.

[00:21:09] Like he's

[00:21:10] he seems like he's

[00:21:12] got a good heart

[00:21:14] or he's really good at hiding.

[00:21:15] I don't know.

[00:21:17] I want him to be good for Edwin.

[00:21:19] Yeah.

[00:21:20] What else did I have

[00:21:21] already talked about

[00:21:22] the ad

[00:21:24] I talked about.

[00:21:25] Yeah,

[00:21:25] I'm looking at all my notes.

[00:21:26] I'm like they go in order.

[00:21:29] Just so funny.

[00:21:29] We always go way out of order.

[00:21:31] We have the Charles

[00:21:34] his kind of breakdown his

[00:21:36] look I have to be happy

[00:21:37] for everybody else.

[00:21:39] Yeah,

[00:21:40] like I've

[00:21:41] I've been that person.

[00:21:43] That's a

[00:21:44] hard role to play.

[00:21:46] Yeah.

[00:21:46] And once you put yourself in it

[00:21:48] you feel like you're letting

[00:21:48] everyone else down if you

[00:21:51] show any

[00:21:52] tragedy or

[00:21:53] yeah,

[00:21:53] if you burden them

[00:21:55] like you're there to help

[00:21:56] lighten the load.

[00:21:57] Yeah,

[00:21:57] I feel that way at times too.

[00:21:59] I don't like to put any

[00:22:00] negativity on anybody.

[00:22:01] I like to help people out

[00:22:02] but that's just who I am

[00:22:04] but I think that's

[00:22:05] a lot of a lot of people

[00:22:08] in general who

[00:22:10] I wouldn't say take abuse

[00:22:12] but they just feel that they

[00:22:14] they don't have the right to

[00:22:16] yeah another people with their

[00:22:18] stuff.

[00:22:18] Yeah,

[00:22:18] I just I have that feeling

[00:22:20] myself at times.

[00:22:21] I don't want to be bothering

[00:22:22] other people in my garbage.

[00:22:24] I will help everybody else out

[00:22:26] but

[00:22:27] yes,

[00:22:27] and they say exactly

[00:22:29] literally it's like if you need

[00:22:30] help.

[00:22:30] Well,

[00:22:30] what's wrong with you?

[00:22:31] Don't worry about it.

[00:22:32] I'll deal with it later

[00:22:34] but I have that tendency

[00:22:36] about my and my friend

[00:22:37] Tracy yells at me all the time

[00:22:38] about that.

[00:22:39] Yeah,

[00:22:39] Tony Tony laughs at me.

[00:22:40] I always collect what he's

[00:22:42] says I collect lost puppies.

[00:22:44] Yeah,

[00:22:44] yeah or you're too busy

[00:22:46] dealing with somebody else's

[00:22:48] mess to

[00:22:49] tend to your own

[00:22:50] and then you kind of get

[00:22:51] lost in the shuffle.

[00:22:53] Yeah,

[00:22:53] I have a tendency of doing

[00:22:54] that myself.

[00:22:55] You understand that from

[00:22:56] Charles and you feel that

[00:22:57] he's such a good soul

[00:22:59] not to put a pun into it

[00:23:01] because he's a ghost

[00:23:02] but he has a soul

[00:23:04] and he wants to help

[00:23:06] everybody else

[00:23:06] and not burden anybody

[00:23:07] with it.

[00:23:08] But Crystal is trying to tell

[00:23:09] him hey,

[00:23:10] let you know wearing this

[00:23:11] together.

[00:23:11] You could you know,

[00:23:13] lean on us

[00:23:14] but he it's kind of like

[00:23:15] one of those typical things

[00:23:16] like I like to do

[00:23:17] is like just not

[00:23:18] don't worry about it.

[00:23:19] We'll move on

[00:23:20] but I will I like that

[00:23:22] kind of

[00:23:24] that

[00:23:25] Crystal is trying to get him

[00:23:26] to open up more

[00:23:27] which she does later on

[00:23:28] and they do have that guess.

[00:23:30] Yeah,

[00:23:31] so while we're just at

[00:23:32] the end of the episode.

[00:23:34] Yeah,

[00:23:34] the boys are now living

[00:23:35] in two separate rooms

[00:23:36] like when they went back

[00:23:37] to the apartment building.

[00:23:38] Yeah,

[00:23:39] without a hey,

[00:23:40] you know,

[00:23:41] I'm putting a sock on

[00:23:42] the door type of wink

[00:23:43] to each other.

[00:23:44] Edwin just went

[00:23:45] in Nico's room

[00:23:46] like that's where he lives

[00:23:47] now

[00:23:48] and Charles went

[00:23:48] in Crystal's room.

[00:23:49] That's where they've been.

[00:23:52] I was like interesting.

[00:23:53] They're not checking

[00:23:54] up Edwin and Nico.

[00:23:58] They just are comfortable

[00:23:59] with one another

[00:24:00] to deal with it.

[00:24:02] Yeah,

[00:24:02] and you know that

[00:24:03] there's something of

[00:24:06] a connection between

[00:24:06] Crystal and Charles.

[00:24:08] So I think that's fine.

[00:24:12] I thought it was cute

[00:24:12] that

[00:24:14] Nico and Edwin

[00:24:15] were watching Scooby-Doo.

[00:24:16] Yep.

[00:24:18] Because he wouldn't have seen it.

[00:24:20] No,

[00:24:21] no,

[00:24:21] you would have well after

[00:24:22] his time that long after

[00:24:24] but it's it kind of

[00:24:26] gives me

[00:24:28] a chuckle for the fact

[00:24:29] of what I mentioned

[00:24:30] about the Scooby Gang

[00:24:31] and how they're adding people

[00:24:33] to it

[00:24:35] between Nico and

[00:24:36] Crystal.

[00:24:37] So the two boys

[00:24:39] I said what's next?

[00:24:40] Is it going to be

[00:24:41] Jenny the butcher?

[00:24:44] Is something going to happen

[00:24:45] to Jenny and

[00:24:45] she's going to be part of it

[00:24:47] and then hold on

[00:24:48] Monty here comes Monty.

[00:24:51] Zoinks,

[00:24:51] what do we do now?

[00:24:54] They already went to

[00:24:55] a haunted house.

[00:24:56] Reminded us the Amityville

[00:24:58] horror.

[00:24:58] They already went to

[00:25:00] a haunted lighthouse.

[00:25:02] If you think about it,

[00:25:03] yeah,

[00:25:04] yeah.

[00:25:05] And think about they had

[00:25:06] those kind of

[00:25:08] episodes in Scooby.

[00:25:10] He definitely had haunted

[00:25:11] lighthouse episodes in Scooby

[00:25:12] Doo.

[00:25:13] Yeah.

[00:25:14] And it was always the caretaker

[00:25:15] that wasn't the caretaker

[00:25:16] this time though.

[00:25:17] No,

[00:25:17] no,

[00:25:18] I always had to pull the mask off

[00:25:19] the ghost.

[00:25:19] It was never the ghost.

[00:25:21] Hey,

[00:25:22] I love those movies by

[00:25:23] the way.

[00:25:23] A lot of people

[00:25:24] those movies that

[00:25:25] I loved them.

[00:25:27] Matthew Lillard was perfect.

[00:25:29] Yeah,

[00:25:29] he was a perfect Shaggy.

[00:25:32] But

[00:25:35] and we had Nico's letter

[00:25:37] from her family,

[00:25:37] but it's written in.

[00:25:40] I'm really not sure

[00:25:41] if she's Japanese,

[00:25:42] Chinese or Korean.

[00:25:43] I'll be honest.

[00:25:43] So I'm not going to guess

[00:25:44] as to but it was written

[00:25:46] in Asian,

[00:25:47] Asian lettering that

[00:25:48] I can't read.

[00:25:50] Yeah,

[00:25:50] none of us have subtitling

[00:25:51] so we don't know.

[00:25:52] I don't know what it said.

[00:25:53] So if anybody out there

[00:25:54] can read it,

[00:25:55] let us know what

[00:25:56] I'm sure somebody

[00:25:57] I didn't even think to look

[00:25:58] until this moment.

[00:25:59] I'm sure somebody screen

[00:26:00] shot it and translated it.

[00:26:03] We'll look after this

[00:26:04] after we hang it

[00:26:05] after we're done with this.

[00:26:06] Well,

[00:26:06] I'm pretty sure

[00:26:07] well the the episode

[00:26:08] has been up for over

[00:26:09] like three weeks now.

[00:26:10] So yeah,

[00:26:11] I'm pretty sure

[00:26:12] somebody has it.

[00:26:14] But if you do

[00:26:14] and you know,

[00:26:15] let us know.

[00:26:21] That was oh and then

[00:26:23] the only sacrifice

[00:26:24] that Charles does

[00:26:25] at the very end

[00:26:26] with the head of

[00:26:29] the lesson found

[00:26:30] Department of the Afterlife.

[00:26:32] The Night Nurse.

[00:26:33] Okay,

[00:26:33] the Night Nurse.

[00:26:34] Sorry,

[00:26:35] I keep saying that.

[00:26:38] How he

[00:26:41] it's like literally

[00:26:42] with all his memories

[00:26:43] like he throws it

[00:26:45] at her

[00:26:46] so that way

[00:26:47] the big fish

[00:26:49] grabs her.

[00:26:50] Angie.

[00:26:51] Angie.

[00:26:52] I gotta get the name right.

[00:26:53] It's not somewhere

[00:26:54] I can read.

[00:26:55] I didn't write it down

[00:26:56] but Angie.

[00:26:57] Yeah.

[00:26:58] Angie is my sister-in-law's name.

[00:26:59] So it

[00:27:01] that works out.

[00:27:03] It's a way for you to remember.

[00:27:06] I like the fact that

[00:27:07] it had like a little light

[00:27:08] on the end of it.

[00:27:09] It's an angler fish.

[00:27:11] I know that

[00:27:12] but I just like how

[00:27:13] they lure people

[00:27:15] or they lure

[00:27:16] other fish to the light.

[00:27:17] Yeah,

[00:27:18] and they go.

[00:27:20] Everybody who couldn't see

[00:27:21] that I opened up my hands

[00:27:22] and I closed the chomp

[00:27:23] in a big motion

[00:27:25] like a shark.

[00:27:26] Yeah,

[00:27:26] never get into discussion

[00:27:28] about fish sharks

[00:27:29] or anything with

[00:27:30] Jamie because she knows

[00:27:31] a lot more than we do.

[00:27:32] Fun fact.

[00:27:33] The big angler fish

[00:27:35] are the females

[00:27:36] and the males are parasitic

[00:27:37] on the females.

[00:27:38] These little tiny parasites

[00:27:40] on them females.

[00:27:41] Yeah,

[00:27:42] they're what they're supposed

[00:27:43] to be the ones who hang around.

[00:27:48] All men just hang around

[00:27:49] all the hot chicks.

[00:27:51] Parasites.

[00:27:53] Yeah,

[00:27:53] exactly.

[00:27:54] Yeah,

[00:27:57] so we had Angie who

[00:28:00] according to

[00:28:01] the walrus in the magic shop

[00:28:04] is a

[00:28:06] is nice like

[00:28:08] we thought we were going

[00:28:09] to have to kill her

[00:28:09] but it was like no,

[00:28:10] no, no.

[00:28:10] We just have to put her to sleep

[00:28:12] and then she can go back

[00:28:13] like it's not her fault.

[00:28:13] She has to eat.

[00:28:15] Yeah,

[00:28:16] which I feel that

[00:28:18] yeah

[00:28:21] and there was another callback.

[00:28:22] I don't know if you noticed

[00:28:23] there was a quick callback

[00:28:24] in the magic shop.

[00:28:26] So at one point

[00:28:27] Edwin has some sheet music

[00:28:29] in his hand

[00:28:30] and the walrus grabs it

[00:28:32] and says no,

[00:28:33] no,

[00:28:33] that's cursed.

[00:28:34] It's how you call

[00:28:36] evil seagulls.

[00:28:38] Oh,

[00:28:39] yes.

[00:28:40] And they talked about

[00:28:40] the feet washing up

[00:28:41] in the evil seagulls

[00:28:42] and we both thought

[00:28:43] that was funny.

[00:28:44] Yes,

[00:28:44] and I was like

[00:28:45] oh call back to evil seagulls.

[00:28:48] That's going to come around

[00:28:49] again.

[00:28:49] I think this is

[00:28:51] what Neil Gaiman does.

[00:28:52] This is the Neil Gaiman of it all.

[00:28:54] Like there's just little stuff

[00:28:55] sprinkled through his stories

[00:28:56] that just keep popping back up

[00:28:57] like the cats,

[00:28:58] the cats popped up again.

[00:28:59] Yeah,

[00:29:00] there was no need for them

[00:29:01] this episode.

[00:29:02] None whatsoever.

[00:29:04] A little bit the cat king.

[00:29:05] Yes.

[00:29:06] So the cat he got attacked

[00:29:07] but like the two little following cats

[00:29:09] we didn't need to see them

[00:29:10] but they were there for a minute

[00:29:11] and still love them.

[00:29:13] But this is what Neil Gaiman does.

[00:29:14] He just sprinkles little things

[00:29:15] you're like,

[00:29:16] oh look at that.

[00:29:17] Like he

[00:29:18] he tells such

[00:29:19] he weaves his stories so well.

[00:29:22] And like stuff pops up

[00:29:24] that doesn't really matter

[00:29:25] but you're still like,

[00:29:25] oh it's just such a complete world

[00:29:27] that it's so great.

[00:29:29] Yeah.

[00:29:29] Well,

[00:29:30] it's very much key

[00:29:31] in any writing

[00:29:32] but he utilizes it perfectly

[00:29:34] so it's just nuanced

[00:29:36] so that you

[00:29:37] you have to look out for it.

[00:29:39] Yeah.

[00:29:39] And it's

[00:29:40] and especially in the shows

[00:29:41] it's a lot easier

[00:29:42] but in reading

[00:29:43] you just

[00:29:44] you just read past it

[00:29:45] I think.

[00:29:46] Well,

[00:29:46] and when you're doing comics

[00:29:47] like if you're reading them monthly

[00:29:49] when they come out

[00:29:49] it's not always as easy

[00:29:50] to catch the stuff

[00:29:51] because you've got

[00:29:53] breaks between it.

[00:29:55] Unless you're really

[00:29:57] a keen reader

[00:29:58] and obsessive.

[00:29:59] Yes.

[00:30:00] Like some people I know

[00:30:02] but

[00:30:03] yeah,

[00:30:03] I

[00:30:04] with TV shows

[00:30:05] and movies

[00:30:05] and things of that nature

[00:30:07] it's a lot easier to pinpoint

[00:30:08] and figure out.

[00:30:09] I think it's pretty cool.

[00:30:14] We didn't talk about

[00:30:16] the washer woman.

[00:30:19] Washer woman?

[00:30:20] You talking about Asha?

[00:30:21] I wonder what the shop is.

[00:30:23] No, no, no.

[00:30:24] The girl who gave them the prophecy

[00:30:26] how to get rid of Angie.

[00:30:28] Oh, yes.

[00:30:29] I forgot.

[00:30:30] Did I write it?

[00:30:31] It is the washer woman, right?

[00:30:33] Yeah, washer woman.

[00:30:34] Okay.

[00:30:36] They read in the shop

[00:30:38] shop with Asha.

[00:30:40] They read how to get to her.

[00:30:43] The riddle.

[00:30:44] Yeah.

[00:30:44] And then

[00:30:45] Nico finds that red glass

[00:30:48] but also it has to be

[00:30:50] someone who is truly in need

[00:30:51] because apparently

[00:30:52] the walrus has been trying to find her

[00:30:53] so they can go back to being a walrus.

[00:30:55] Yes, he wants to turn back so bad.

[00:30:57] Yes, but

[00:31:00] makes me think is the washer woman Esther.

[00:31:08] But

[00:31:11] they turn the glass

[00:31:14] and they get brought to the washroom

[00:31:15] and who is washing seems to be washing

[00:31:17] the sins of the world

[00:31:18] is what she said.

[00:31:19] Yes.

[00:31:21] But she's helping them.

[00:31:22] She helped them with the riddle

[00:31:23] because they needed to know how to get rid of Angie.

[00:31:27] And then she also kept

[00:31:30] magically kept

[00:31:31] Crystal behind

[00:31:33] and she was like just ask me just ask me

[00:31:34] and crystal asked about her family

[00:31:36] and I did not write down the riddle

[00:31:38] she gave to

[00:31:40] crystal.

[00:31:41] Oh, yeah, I didn't write those.

[00:31:44] I started to write it

[00:31:45] and then I was like, oh wait.

[00:31:50] Yeah, all I wrote was

[00:31:52] basically in a washer woman

[00:31:53] and the riddle.

[00:31:53] Apparently the riddle was a way to find her

[00:31:55] and Asha had painted it.

[00:31:59] The only thing that I added in that

[00:32:00] was some of it.

[00:32:02] I got it.

[00:32:02] Go ahead.

[00:32:03] Yeah.

[00:32:04] I did write it down

[00:32:05] when the ground moves

[00:32:06] and the bird cries start to look

[00:32:08] start looking within

[00:32:10] I think that has to its

[00:32:10] eves

[00:32:12] the first ground move.

[00:32:13] So earthquake possibly

[00:32:15] maybe

[00:32:17] the bird cries might be Monty

[00:32:19] true

[00:32:20] and then start to look within

[00:32:22] might still be

[00:32:24] David.

[00:32:25] David might still have some of her

[00:32:27] might have

[00:32:27] maybe David trapped the stuff

[00:32:29] within her.

[00:32:29] He doesn't have a crystal

[00:32:31] because yeah, there's still doesn't know

[00:32:33] about her.

[00:32:34] So yeah,

[00:32:34] because the wash woman kept crystal behind

[00:32:37] with everybody else.

[00:32:38] Like she kept crystal to herself.

[00:32:41] So there was

[00:32:42] she gave all of them the riddle for Angie

[00:32:43] which was

[00:32:45] basically turned out to be

[00:32:47] make her fall asleep.

[00:32:48] Yes.

[00:32:50] When she retires,

[00:32:51] she will go away basically

[00:32:54] but for crystal

[00:32:55] it was

[00:32:56] when the ground moves

[00:32:57] and the bird

[00:32:58] cries start looking within

[00:33:01] for her to help her family.

[00:33:03] So crystal has this

[00:33:05] to figure out.

[00:33:08] Interesting.

[00:33:09] The only thing I got out of that scene

[00:33:14] which made me laugh,

[00:33:15] but I felt this one.

[00:33:16] I was in a client's home

[00:33:17] that had weird dolls.

[00:33:19] Edwin's fear of the weird dolls.

[00:33:22] He jumped.

[00:33:23] He just like turns the head of it.

[00:33:25] Yep.

[00:33:26] Yeah, I would do the same

[00:33:27] because it's decrepit looking like

[00:33:30] something out of a tool video music video.

[00:33:35] My mom had

[00:33:38] dozens of Santa Claus's.

[00:33:39] She used to put around the house at Christmas time.

[00:33:41] Yeah,

[00:33:42] like dozens of them boxes upon boxes of them.

[00:33:45] Wow.

[00:33:45] And they all were in this loft

[00:33:47] and what she would do was like when Christmas was over

[00:33:50] was over they would go in the guest room

[00:33:52] and they would all get lined up

[00:33:53] and then the boxes would come down

[00:33:54] and we put them in the closet

[00:33:55] and we put them away.

[00:33:56] My friend came to stay with us

[00:33:57] when they were in the

[00:33:59] they're all lined up in the room phase.

[00:34:01] Oh no.

[00:34:01] And they were all facing the bed

[00:34:03] and the next morning

[00:34:03] when I go to check on him

[00:34:05] they have all been turned around

[00:34:06] because he didn't like looking at him.

[00:34:09] Which I do not blame him.

[00:34:11] I just walked in the room

[00:34:12] and started dying laughing.

[00:34:13] So whenever somebody turns a doll's head

[00:34:15] because it

[00:34:16] or whatever like they think

[00:34:17] something's looking at them

[00:34:18] and they don't want to

[00:34:19] and they turn it.

[00:34:19] I always think of my friend.

[00:34:22] I think that hold on.

[00:34:24] I think that whole thing with doll

[00:34:26] is going to come back around at some point.

[00:34:29] It's possible.

[00:34:30] It probably is another Easter egg

[00:34:31] to trigger into something later on that we see.

[00:34:37] Maybe he possessed a doll

[00:34:38] at one point to get at somebody

[00:34:40] and he's get that fearful

[00:34:42] or something came after him like that.

[00:34:44] Oh boy.

[00:34:48] Yeah, looking at my notes of anything else

[00:34:49] that we might have uncovered

[00:34:50] that I have talked about

[00:34:51] but I don't see anything.

[00:34:53] I liked the just two quick Jenny things.

[00:34:58] She got called June Cleaver,

[00:34:59] which I thought was pretty clever.

[00:35:01] Yeah, exactly.

[00:35:02] Since she's a butcher,

[00:35:03] she has a cleaver.

[00:35:05] I thought that was pretty clever.

[00:35:06] I was like, oh, that's a good one.

[00:35:08] And then

[00:35:10] she made a reference to the peach pit.

[00:35:13] Yep.

[00:35:14] Which none of the other kids would get

[00:35:16] because the boys died

[00:35:18] before 90210 came out

[00:35:20] and the girls were born

[00:35:21] probably after 90210 was done.

[00:35:23] Yeah, well it shows her age at that point.

[00:35:26] She was mine too.

[00:35:29] Gen Xer.

[00:35:30] Yeah, but I liked the

[00:35:33] I like the reference to the peach pit.

[00:35:34] I'm like, oh, oh.

[00:35:37] All I have left is quotes

[00:35:38] and interesting stuff from the show

[00:35:40] like the music.

[00:35:41] Yeah.

[00:35:42] Oh, the only other thing we didn't mention

[00:35:44] which is probably going to come up

[00:35:45] and still Jenny

[00:35:47] is her secret admirer letters.

[00:35:49] Yes.

[00:35:50] I have a quote regarding that,

[00:35:51] but it's pretty funny how it's like

[00:35:53] she does reflect back to that.

[00:35:55] And then obviously that was like

[00:35:57] the very beginning of the episode

[00:35:59] that Nico and Christo

[00:36:01] Crystal are actually talking about it

[00:36:03] and how they're trying to like

[00:36:04] badger her about it.

[00:36:05] Well, and Crystal can touch

[00:36:06] the letter and find out.

[00:36:08] Yes, but she won't touch it.

[00:36:10] She could because if

[00:36:12] she feels desired right now

[00:36:14] and it's not

[00:36:16] by someone she doesn't want it from

[00:36:17] like if she finds out who this person is,

[00:36:19] she may not like them.

[00:36:20] They may be a creepy, creepy stalker.

[00:36:22] Yes.

[00:36:23] It could all go downhill

[00:36:24] really, really fast

[00:36:25] if she learns who it's actually from.

[00:36:27] She just likes the attention

[00:36:28] that she's getting.

[00:36:29] Yes.

[00:36:30] Like most people do.

[00:36:32] It doesn't have to be women.

[00:36:33] It could be male.

[00:36:34] It could be anybody.

[00:36:35] Yeah.

[00:36:35] As long as you have that attention

[00:36:37] and if you never haven't had it

[00:36:38] in so long, it's just like

[00:36:40] I want that.

[00:36:42] When I got on the apps

[00:36:43] after I split with my ex,

[00:36:46] there was one guy

[00:36:48] who would send me a message in the morning

[00:36:49] that said, Good morning, beautiful.

[00:36:51] And at night he would say,

[00:36:53] good night, beautiful.

[00:36:54] I would try and have a conversation

[00:36:55] with him during the day

[00:36:56] and wouldn't get much out of him.

[00:36:58] But for months

[00:36:59] it was good morning,

[00:37:00] beautiful and good night, beautiful

[00:37:01] and I could count on those texts

[00:37:02] and they made

[00:37:03] they just made me smile.

[00:37:04] Feel well.

[00:37:05] Yeah, you better.

[00:37:06] It was nothing was ever going to come

[00:37:08] of it, but it was really sweet

[00:37:10] to have someone

[00:37:12] say those words to me.

[00:37:13] Yes.

[00:37:13] So I get it.

[00:37:15] It made you feel special.

[00:37:16] And yeah, sometimes we all need that

[00:37:18] at a time when we need it.

[00:37:20] Yeah.

[00:37:21] Yeah.

[00:37:22] I only have one quote regarding

[00:37:24] that from Jenny and see

[00:37:25] it's about the letter saying

[00:37:26] the letters are nice, creepy.

[00:37:28] See your serial killer.

[00:37:29] Nice might as well be letters

[00:37:31] cut out of magazines.

[00:37:32] This says no one ever turns out

[00:37:34] to be who you think they are

[00:37:36] and it's disappointing

[00:37:37] and that's her, you know,

[00:37:38] you're reasoning behind not looking

[00:37:41] further into it.

[00:37:44] Is that your only quote

[00:37:45] or do you have anymore?

[00:37:46] I have one one from Dax in

[00:37:48] and he goes, yes, I can pay you

[00:37:51] from with saltwater

[00:37:53] taffy and a magic eight ball

[00:37:54] that tells you when you're going to die.

[00:37:56] When asked about the fee to help him

[00:37:58] yeah, Edwin

[00:37:59] in a payment of services

[00:38:01] and he goes,

[00:38:02] what do I need it for?

[00:38:04] I'm already dead.

[00:38:05] Last

[00:38:06] and he starts laughing.

[00:38:07] It's dark.

[00:38:09] One of my quotes is from him too.

[00:38:11] If I wanted to be around people

[00:38:12] at Haunted Denny's.

[00:38:16] That's brilliant.

[00:38:18] The last one I had would be Charles saying

[00:38:21] usually ghosts of suicide

[00:38:22] usually wander the earth.

[00:38:24] These lot are just hanging in

[00:38:25] hanging and lingering.

[00:38:27] That is just weird.

[00:38:29] That's weird.

[00:38:30] Yeah,

[00:38:31] but it made sense

[00:38:32] once it all got put together

[00:38:33] but they were yeah

[00:38:35] Nico maybe they're just

[00:38:37] maybe they're nearsighted

[00:38:38] and just fell.

[00:38:42] Which is so cute about Nico

[00:38:43] and how she sees the world.

[00:38:45] Yeah, especially with

[00:38:47] what she's done with them

[00:38:48] like trying to come up

[00:38:49] with the right side of it

[00:38:50] and then the cat King

[00:38:52] in my experience uptight boys

[00:38:54] like a little bit of rough play.

[00:38:56] Oh yeah.

[00:38:59] It's him just poking at Edwin

[00:39:02] with everything

[00:39:04] but yeah

[00:39:06] I think that covers absolutely

[00:39:08] everything I had written down.

[00:39:10] Yeah,

[00:39:11] before we get into anything

[00:39:13] we'll get into some feedback.

[00:39:16] I guess

[00:39:17] yeah, why not?

[00:39:18] Why not?

[00:39:20] All right.

[00:39:20] Well, we got some feedback

[00:39:22] for the last episode

[00:39:23] for episode 3 of Dead Boy Detectives

[00:39:25] and it's from our friend Steve Brown.

[00:39:27] So let's listen to what Steve

[00:39:28] has to say about episode 3.

[00:39:31] Yay, Steve.

[00:39:33] Hello Mark and Jamie

[00:39:34] this is Steve

[00:39:35] and this is for

[00:39:36] Dead Boy Detectives season 1 episode 3

[00:39:39] The Case of the Devlin House.

[00:39:40] I just watched it

[00:39:41] and I'm going to go right into episode 4

[00:39:43] and do a live Steve of that one.

[00:39:45] But a couple of thoughts

[00:39:46] on this episode 3.

[00:39:48] I love how it moved the story along.

[00:39:51] The Ruth Cannell B story is just great.

[00:39:53] I love the whole lost and found

[00:39:55] death thing

[00:39:56] and when she goes to see the notary

[00:39:57] and she can't get approval

[00:40:00] because she doesn't have

[00:40:01] she's not specific enough

[00:40:03] but just great that

[00:40:04] the way they work together

[00:40:05] and the way they're working

[00:40:06] with Crystal is great.

[00:40:07] I love to see the sprites again

[00:40:09] and the the fun that we had there

[00:40:12] was showing them kind of bickering

[00:40:15] and back and forth

[00:40:16] and trying to get in Nico's head.

[00:40:18] So it's I just realized what I did.

[00:40:21] There's kind of a pun

[00:40:23] but get in Nico's head

[00:40:24] get back in Nico's head.

[00:40:25] Anyway, onto episode 4.

[00:40:29] And we can go on to his episode 4.

[00:40:31] Yep, here's episode 4.

[00:40:32] Hello Mark and Jamie

[00:40:34] this is Steve

[00:40:34] and this is going to be for

[00:40:35] Dead Boy Detectives

[00:40:40] That's a hard word to say.

[00:40:42] Season 1 episode 3

[00:40:44] the case of the lighthouse leapers.

[00:40:47] Oops, episode 4.

[00:40:49] I don't have anywhere to be

[00:40:50] but right here.

[00:40:52] Okay, so all these ghosts

[00:40:53] are congregating at this lighthouse

[00:40:55] because death isn't taking them.

[00:40:56] What is death on a holiday?

[00:40:58] Get it.

[00:41:00] The lighthouse leapers title card

[00:41:02] doesn't really count as a mic drop

[00:41:03] but I'll take it.

[00:41:04] Oh, so the cat king can make people

[00:41:07] tell the truth

[00:41:07] when he scratches their mouth

[00:41:09] like that with that light

[00:41:11] doohickey thing.

[00:41:12] Because turning the baby's head

[00:41:13] around 180 degrees makes it less creepy.

[00:41:17] Edwin, gosh.

[00:41:18] So Nico gives Edwin

[00:41:21] the red stone as a form of courage

[00:41:26] like a red badge of courage.

[00:41:28] The washerwoman gives out riddles

[00:41:31] and you've got to figure them out.

[00:41:32] Whoa, even the lost

[00:41:35] and found finder person,

[00:41:37] Ruth Cannell.

[00:41:38] Does she have a name?

[00:41:40] Anyway, it has powers

[00:41:41] and she just almost force choked

[00:41:45] Jenny to death.

[00:41:46] Oh, so they have to lull

[00:41:49] the beast sea monster to sleep.

[00:41:52] Interesting.

[00:41:54] The peach pit.

[00:41:55] Isn't that like Beverly Hills 90210?

[00:41:58] Okay, well the night duty

[00:42:00] what did she call herself?

[00:42:01] The night duty nurse

[00:42:02] the night on duty nurse of lost

[00:42:05] I don't know Ruth Cannell.

[00:42:07] So she's found him now.

[00:42:09] What how is she going to bring him back?

[00:42:10] Oh, Charles had a rough life.

[00:42:14] Oh, so he gave her the music box.

[00:42:17] She gets swallowed by the sea monster.

[00:42:19] The sea monster falls asleep.

[00:42:20] Well case closed.

[00:42:22] Now what's the tag on the end here?

[00:42:24] All right.

[00:42:25] Well, there it is.

[00:42:27] To be continued.

[00:42:28] The only thing he wasn't

[00:42:29] as impressed with was the kiss.

[00:42:31] As we were.

[00:42:32] Yeah, yeah.

[00:42:33] He caught the creepy doll like I did.

[00:42:36] And then I don't know.

[00:42:38] Yeah.

[00:42:40] He got that one.

[00:42:41] Like us.

[00:42:42] Well, it's funny too.

[00:42:44] It's like, you know,

[00:42:44] the one thing that we didn't say is,

[00:42:46] you know, to make a pun about that

[00:42:47] is that, you know,

[00:42:50] the fish eating the lady is like that.

[00:42:53] It's like I made him full.

[00:42:57] I think it was more the music box

[00:42:58] that made her nappy her sleepy.

[00:43:00] Yeah, I'd say so.

[00:43:03] But the only thing I would add on to

[00:43:06] before we get into any other conversation,

[00:43:09] interesting stuff that I usually find

[00:43:11] within the show is the music in the show.

[00:43:13] And I mentioned it and there

[00:43:14] is a Spotify playlist.

[00:43:16] There is a website that goes

[00:43:17] and categorizes between every episode

[00:43:20] of what's played music wise.

[00:43:23] Last episode we have, you know,

[00:43:25] only owner of a lonely heart played.

[00:43:27] I don't know about like 13 times.

[00:43:30] Just part of it.

[00:43:30] Not even the whole song.

[00:43:32] Yeah, this episode we got two songs out of it.

[00:43:35] One by Romance and the song is called.

[00:43:40] Well, we could say it here

[00:43:41] because this is for adults

[00:43:43] and explicit shit kid.

[00:43:46] And yeah, the next song would be Young Blood,

[00:43:49] the band Young Blood or artist Young Blood

[00:43:52] and it's the White Sea remix of the song

[00:43:55] The Naked and Famous White Sea.

[00:43:58] Interesting.

[00:43:58] So those are the little tidbits.

[00:44:00] I was able to find that where I find interesting.

[00:44:04] I hope you guys find it interesting

[00:44:05] or if you're collecting these songs yourself,

[00:44:08] you don't necessarily have to go

[00:44:10] to the Spotify playlist.

[00:44:12] You can easily just create your own playlist

[00:44:13] yourself if people still do that,

[00:44:16] you know, it's like a mixed CD.

[00:44:17] Oh, my boyfriend still does it.

[00:44:20] He makes his play.

[00:44:21] He has his playlist.

[00:44:22] Does he do mixed tapes?

[00:44:24] No, but we did find some mixed CDs

[00:44:28] in his car that we started playing over the

[00:44:30] when we were taking a long drive this weekend.

[00:44:32] Oh, no.

[00:44:35] From the early 2000s,

[00:44:36] there was some interesting stuff on there.

[00:44:37] That's pretty cool.

[00:44:39] I'd say that's awesome.

[00:44:40] Yeah, it was a lot of fun.

[00:44:41] All right.

[00:44:42] So first and foremost,

[00:44:44] we are a Sandman podcast

[00:44:47] and today they dropped a teaser trailer

[00:44:49] announcing the final,

[00:44:51] the casting for the final three members

[00:44:54] of The Endless Family.

[00:44:56] Yes.

[00:44:57] So if you haven't watched it,

[00:44:59] sure Mark will add in the show notes

[00:45:01] or it's on Netflix's,

[00:45:02] all of Netflix's social media.

[00:45:06] There we go.

[00:45:06] I can talk.

[00:45:10] It's on all of their social media,

[00:45:11] Neil Gaiman also reposted it on everything.

[00:45:16] So we already know that we have Dream,

[00:45:21] Death, Desire and Despair.

[00:45:23] They were all in season one.

[00:45:25] They were brilliant.

[00:45:28] A lot of people had some problems with death

[00:45:30] for stupid reasons

[00:45:32] and some problems with Despair

[00:45:34] because she is very different than the comic,

[00:45:36] but it would be very hard to bring

[00:45:37] the comic look of Despair to the screen

[00:45:41] because she's a little explicit.

[00:45:45] That really doesn't stop most

[00:45:48] streaming platforms.

[00:45:49] I'm okay with what they did.

[00:45:51] It's easier to look at.

[00:45:53] All right.

[00:45:54] They kept the spirit there.

[00:45:56] They just changed her look a little bit

[00:45:57] and I'm not mad about it.

[00:45:59] Creative license.

[00:46:01] Now we have the full endless.

[00:46:04] We have Adrian Lester as Destiny,

[00:46:11] Esme Creed Miles as Delirium

[00:46:13] and Barry Sloan as The Prodigal,

[00:46:16] which I am a comic book reader.

[00:46:19] So I know these characters.

[00:46:24] Destiny looks great.

[00:46:26] The Prodigal looks right off the right out of the book.

[00:46:29] Delirium I'm going to reserve judgment on,

[00:46:32] but she don't look quite right.

[00:46:34] She's missing.

[00:46:36] She's missing some funky hair.

[00:46:38] She's supposed to have rainbow hair.

[00:46:39] She's supposed to be like in the comic

[00:46:42] when she talks her speech bubbles are all rainbow colors,

[00:46:46] which you don't see a lot.

[00:46:47] You don't see colored,

[00:46:49] but it's like rainbow like she is very animated

[00:46:53] and flighty.

[00:46:54] She's very, oh, look at that.

[00:46:56] Oh, look at that.

[00:46:57] Like she's just she's tripping on acid the whole time.

[00:47:00] She's delirious.

[00:47:01] Yeah.

[00:47:01] Well, Delirium obviously.

[00:47:03] Yeah.

[00:47:04] So have seen her with just one color of hair.

[00:47:07] Now there is certain point in the story

[00:47:10] where she does become a little dulled.

[00:47:13] So maybe that's the image we saw.

[00:47:17] What death was wearing is very reminiscent of a part

[00:47:19] in the book where things are a little more serious.

[00:47:21] Yeah.

[00:47:22] So that could be why some I'm reserving judgment until I see it.

[00:47:26] They haven't let me down yet.

[00:47:27] I've been impressed with everything they've done.

[00:47:29] But for those of us who were looking forward to delirium

[00:47:31] and went, wait, that that's what we got.

[00:47:34] I'm with you.

[00:47:35] Yeah, but I'm not mad about it yet.

[00:47:37] I want to see what happens.

[00:47:39] I think there's a whole lot that they could still do

[00:47:41] with her.

[00:47:41] That was one second.

[00:47:43] So and I don't know if you want to get into who these actors

[00:47:46] are or not.

[00:47:47] You can easily find them online.

[00:47:49] Yeah.

[00:47:49] So obviously I'll I'll throw in in the show notes

[00:47:52] what Jamie has in here and our podcast notes about the actors

[00:47:58] who they play and a little bit of information of each.

[00:48:02] So that way if you want to I'll I'll link the the actual

[00:48:08] like it's like a Facebook quick link.

[00:48:10] It's almost like a tick tock to it, but it gives like

[00:48:13] an image.

[00:48:13] It's a it's kind of like a quick got to her thing.

[00:48:17] Dreams awesome chair.

[00:48:19] And then we see who we had before and it just goes in

[00:48:23] rotation of all the characters that we have seen who

[00:48:26] previous to who were to expect and it's kind of like

[00:48:29] an introduction.

[00:48:30] So I'll link that in if you guys want to watch it.

[00:48:33] If not, you know, just go to if you just research

[00:48:36] it on YouTube, it's probably on a quick search.

[00:48:39] If you already looked through Sandman and you have

[00:48:42] a YouTube account and it's amongst your search.

[00:48:45] They'll probably do it as a suggestion.

[00:48:47] Yeah, because they have those quick ones on Apple TV

[00:48:50] where you go down and it shows you a quick little

[00:48:52] tick tock ish kind of YouTube.

[00:48:56] And I know Netflix through it on Instagram, Facebook

[00:49:02] X.

[00:49:03] I'm assuming it's on tick tock.

[00:49:04] I didn't check there but yeah, I'm assuming so

[00:49:07] and I'm assuming to on YouTube as well.

[00:49:09] Yeah, and I think it's on their website too for

[00:49:12] salmon.

[00:49:13] So basically they want you to find out.

[00:49:16] Yeah, it's 40 seconds of your life.

[00:49:18] It's totally worth it.

[00:49:19] If you're into Sandman.

[00:49:20] Awesome.

[00:49:20] All right.

[00:49:21] I think that wraps things up for this episode and

[00:49:23] for our news unless you've got anything else.

[00:49:25] I have nothing.

[00:49:28] All right.

[00:49:29] But since you know, we got Mr.

[00:49:32] Steve Brown leaving some feedback.

[00:49:34] Why don't you let us let our listeners know how

[00:49:37] to submit their feedback.

[00:49:38] You can send us an email or a voice message at

[00:49:42] talk at podcastica.com.

[00:49:44] If you head to podcastica.com, there's a handy

[00:49:47] voice message link.

[00:49:48] I think that might be what Steve uses and you

[00:49:50] can check us out on social media at Facebook

[00:49:52] com slash podcastica Twitter slash X at

[00:49:55] podcastica and Instagram at house podcastica

[00:49:58] and while you're at the podcastica.com website

[00:50:03] you can check out all the other podcasts on

[00:50:05] the podcast network still selling a Buffy

[00:50:08] vampire Buffy verse podcast and they're covering

[00:50:12] Buffy season 3 they're going to probably

[00:50:14] take a little bit of a break due to some

[00:50:16] issues lately, but they'll be back with

[00:50:20] more of Buffy.

[00:50:22] The Marvel TV cast came out with the most

[00:50:25] recent one with the Eternals and you had

[00:50:28] something else to change is a strange indeed

[00:50:30] announced that they're coming back with the

[00:50:32] final season of sweet tooth.

[00:50:35] Yes, I'm very excited for both the podcast

[00:50:38] and the show and as well as I like calling

[00:50:42] it the vamp cast, but I have no other way

[00:50:46] of calling it.

[00:50:47] It's a collaborative podcast between Adrenal

[00:50:50] and cinema podcasts and podcastica and we're

[00:50:53] covering interview with a vampire season 2.

[00:50:57] So we watch season 1.

[00:51:00] I didn't really season 2 was out.

[00:51:01] So we're having fun with that if you

[00:51:04] never had read Anne Rice's books or even

[00:51:07] seen interview with a vampire or Queen of

[00:51:11] the Damned in the theater or and you know

[00:51:13] video or streaming you could start with

[00:51:17] just season 1 and have a good time with

[00:51:19] that.

[00:51:19] It's a different for completely different

[00:51:22] take on the story of of Louis and

[00:51:26] Lestat it's all the same characters

[00:51:29] portrayed differently.

[00:51:31] The stories a bit more dramatic and you

[00:51:33] get a feel for these characters.

[00:51:35] That's what we we love to talk about

[00:51:37] within show.

[00:51:38] So it's Lara Danny myself and coming

[00:51:43] soon.

[00:51:43] Lima is going to be joining us from

[00:51:45] strange indeed.

[00:51:46] So we're going to have fun with episode

[00:51:49] 3 season 2 season 2 I believe so

[00:51:53] actually we're doing season 2 recently.

[00:51:55] I don't know if she's jumping on yet

[00:51:57] Rima, but I would love for her to

[00:51:58] come on but yeah, I'm I'm really enjoying

[00:52:02] the the new season and we did get a

[00:52:06] recast which Lara like to chime in and

[00:52:10] explain it and she explained it perfectly

[00:52:12] well kind of like when you go see a

[00:52:14] play and a recast the talent for

[00:52:17] another character a character for

[00:52:19] another talent and they did that this

[00:52:22] time with Bailey bass and I thought

[00:52:26] what they did and how they did it

[00:52:27] was perfectly well done and and and

[00:52:31] I'm enjoying the episodes as they

[00:52:33] come out.

[00:52:34] So check that out that could that

[00:52:36] feed could be found on house

[00:52:37] podcastica and on adrenaline cinema

[00:52:39] podcast.

[00:52:40] So check that out as always here.

[00:52:44] You could hear us on Sandman cast

[00:52:47] as we're covering Dead Boy detectives.

[00:52:49] We got more information about Sandman

[00:52:53] not just from the trailer that

[00:52:55] Jamie was talking about but they

[00:52:57] finished up wrapping shooting of

[00:52:59] Sandman and they announced the

[00:53:02] titles of I think the first six
