[00:00:00] Hmm? Ah!

[00:00:07] I destroyed my world. What do you want me to do? Just sit here and take it like a bitch?

[00:00:11] I'm gonna go over there and beat the living shit out of him!

[00:00:13] Yes!

[00:00:14] I like the way this guy thinks.

[00:00:15] Johnny!

[00:00:16] The bad boy's right, man. Silver's been screwing us for too long.

[00:00:19] You kicked your ass, kicked my ass, just sucker-kicking my case.

[00:00:24] But still, it's way past time for some payback.

[00:00:26] That's what I'm talking about!

[00:00:27] All right, chosen. Chosen. Help me out here. This is crazy.

[00:00:31] I knew Silver has had some asses.

[00:00:33] Yes! I'm driving!

[00:00:34] What? No, no, no! You guys! You're out of your fucking mind!

[00:00:50] Hey everybody, welcome to the podcast. I'm Jason.

[00:00:52] I'm Richard.

[00:00:53] And I'm Reema.

[00:00:54] And this is Cobra Kai Cast.

[00:00:57] This week, we're covering Cobra Kai Season 5 episodes 9 and 10.

[00:01:01] Survivors and Head of the Snake.

[00:01:04] And for this grand finale of Season 5, we have a special guest, Ben on with us.

[00:01:09] Welcome to the podcast, Ben.

[00:01:11] Woo-hoo!

[00:01:12] I'm excited to be on for the finale.

[00:01:15] I was on last season with you guys, but it was earlier than the...

[00:01:19] You were on for during Season 3.

[00:01:23] I don't think you came on last season.

[00:01:25] Maybe it wasn't last season.

[00:01:27] Yeah, it was that one where it was when Daniel went to Okinawa.

[00:01:31] Okay.

[00:01:32] Right?

[00:01:33] All right.

[00:01:34] Yeah. It's been a while.

[00:01:35] That was a good one.

[00:01:36] Yeah, that was a good one.

[00:01:37] And I tried.

[00:01:38] I really tried to watch week to week with you guys.

[00:01:41] And then I got to the end of episode 6 and I was like, nope, I can't.

[00:01:46] I gotta find out what's gonna happen.

[00:01:48] Those 5 and 6 were so good.

[00:01:51] Yeah, Lord.

[00:01:52] What about...

[00:01:53] So, Cobra Kai, Season 5 episodes 9 and 10, survivors and head of the snake.

[00:01:58] Ben, in general, what did you think of these last two?

[00:02:01] I presume you liked them since you wanted to be on.

[00:02:04] I did very much enjoy them because yes, I did.

[00:02:08] I sent you the email because I know Rich, you have your daughter's wedding coming up

[00:02:12] and congratulations on that by the way.

[00:02:14] Thank you very much.

[00:02:15] And I reached out to Jason and I said, hey, I said it for some reason, Rich can't do it.

[00:02:19] I would come on either way, you're gonna get a voicemail.

[00:02:23] And then Jason invited me on which was great.

[00:02:27] I could tell you the easiest way to tell you how much I enjoyed these last two episodes.

[00:02:32] I have watched the finale at least 5 times.

[00:02:37] And that's not an exaggeration.

[00:02:41] I have watched it at least 5 times.

[00:02:43] I wholeheartedly believe that.

[00:02:45] I don't doubt you at all.

[00:02:47] What about you, Rima?

[00:02:49] What did you think?

[00:02:51] I really enjoyed the last two, especially the last one with all the fights.

[00:02:58] I loved all the action, especially the big one there at the end.

[00:03:03] So I thought it was great.

[00:03:05] I'm a little concerned because it felt like a bit of a wrap up.

[00:03:12] I know.

[00:03:14] But it felt like there are some loose ends that they could and I wish would wrap up.

[00:03:22] Because it kind of felt like a wrap up, but we know the writers have more in mind.

[00:03:28] And if it really was a wrap up, then they should have wrapped up some things that they didn't.

[00:03:32] Like who has like, I really think Johnny should be in charge of Cobra Kai or some kind of definitive end to Cobra Kai or whatever.

[00:03:39] And they didn't do that.

[00:03:41] So like I said, we know the writers want to do more seasons.

[00:03:44] But then I'm like, how are they going to top this?

[00:03:47] It felt like the culmination.

[00:03:51] Anyway, Rich, what about you?

[00:03:53] Yeah, okay.

[00:03:54] As soon as we started watching with Sam and Tori where it picked up at the beginning,

[00:03:59] I was like, aw man, I knew right at that moment we're going to do the whole let's wrap it up kind of sort of thing.

[00:04:04] Just in case maybe there's not going to be a sixth season.

[00:04:08] I don't know, but it hasn't been confirmed.

[00:04:10] The Sakae Taika World Tournament was just a tease, you know?

[00:04:15] I think, you know, unless they're going to do the whole thing next season.

[00:04:18] I do because I was like, why did we waste time with those two episodes and then not have the Sakae Taikae?

[00:04:26] I think that Dayun Kim is going to be the villain next year.

[00:04:30] She's the one who cares about bringing her family's karate out to the world.

[00:04:35] She owns 50% of Cobra Kai.

[00:04:38] I think they did put that Sakae Taikae stuff in there to do it next season.

[00:04:44] Yeah, well, I know it was a good tease.

[00:04:46] It was definitely a good tease.

[00:04:47] Oh, for sure.

[00:04:48] I mean, I wouldn't be mad if she was the villain.

[00:04:50] I have a huge girl crush on her.

[00:04:53] I think she's awesome.

[00:04:54] She's a badass.

[00:04:55] I didn't think of Kim Dayun being the villain for next season, but I do...

[00:05:01] I have a little bit of a different prediction for where season six could go,

[00:05:04] but I'll wait till we start into the discussion.

[00:05:07] You can say now if you want.

[00:05:08] I'm curious.

[00:05:09] So in episode seven or no, episode eight, it's open-ended as to what dojo they're going to compete in the Sakae Taikae in.

[00:05:18] I think the only thing really left to do is gain a little reputation for Cobra Kai.

[00:05:23] And I think if anything, I think they might compete in the Sakae Taikae under Cobra Kai

[00:05:28] to kind of build a reputation, a better reputation for Cobra Kai.

[00:05:32] Like a redemption?

[00:05:33] Well, I mean, because everybody walked out?

[00:05:36] I think Daniel and Johnny might compete in the Sakae Taikae under Cobra Kai to kind of redeem Cobra Kai.

[00:05:43] Yeah, because I do think that ultimately there's a pretty good chance Johnny will be in charge of Cobra Kai and it will be redeemed.

[00:05:51] But remember, Chris was walking off into the sunset.

[00:05:55] True.

[00:05:56] And I do think that Kim Dayoon's story is unfinished.

[00:06:00] I mean, I think there was a reason why Terry gave her 50% of Cobra Kai.

[00:06:04] That's a lot.

[00:06:06] So that there because that was my question when Chris was going off to jail.

[00:06:10] I'm like, well, who's in place to run Cobra Kai?

[00:06:13] And I think it's her.

[00:06:15] Well, I mean, unless there's no extradition in whatever country the Sakae Taikae is in,

[00:06:19] Chris can't exactly just come out of the woodwork and train kids to be in this competition.

[00:06:25] He's going to have to do it in hiding.

[00:06:27] That's true.

[00:06:28] He's on the run.

[00:06:29] I mean, he kind of blew it, to be honest, because if they decide, OK, Terry Silver actually did it and framed Chris, then he could have been let out.

[00:06:40] Yeah, regardless of him being innocent of those charges against Stingray, it's still like a whole different set of laws he's breaking out of jail.

[00:06:53] He was on his way out of one grave by digging another one.

[00:06:56] Anyway, I loved him.

[00:07:00] I thought it was super fun to see all the celebrating in the first episode and then he really pumped up the volume and gave us this blood bath in the second one, which was kind of hilarious.

[00:07:12] So I thought it was really fresh and cool and great for a lot of reasons.

[00:07:18] So I loved him.

[00:07:19] OK, let's get into our points, Ben.

[00:07:22] You know what?

[00:07:24] I want to kick things off and Jason, over the course of everything, you've been kind of like giving all of your points in name.

[00:07:30] So I'm going to steal that a little bit and I'm going to call this point this no tournament, this for real.

[00:07:35] Yeah, that's right.

[00:07:37] Because man, like that finale really raised the stakes.

[00:07:42] Like they were life threatening stakes in this finale.

[00:07:46] Intentionally.

[00:07:47] It was so much bigger than anything we've gotten ever from all five seasons in total.

[00:07:55] I mean, we had Johnny almost beaten to death, chosen takes of what could have been a mortal wound to the back from a katana.

[00:08:03] Like they really some sensei gets his finger cut off from a katana.

[00:08:10] When Terry left and he said to Johnny, you know, at least you won't have to worry about messing up another kid.

[00:08:18] And then he said to his sensei is finish him.

[00:08:21] I think you meant kill him.

[00:08:23] Yeah, absolutely agree.

[00:08:24] It was like a Mortal Kombat finish him.

[00:08:26] Yeah.

[00:08:27] Yeah, Rip is fine right out of his back.

[00:08:30] Yeah, but I mean, there were legitimate lives on the line in this finale.

[00:08:35] And I think this it's one of the reasons why I think I love the finale, but it also gave me some of the most high anxiety.

[00:08:43] This show has given me five seasons that like I was legitimately concerned for Johnny and chosen when Johnny when chosen is laying left in the puddle in the pool in the shallow pool with like the blood coming out from behind him.

[00:08:56] I like I was concerned that chosen we wouldn't see chosen again.

[00:09:00] Right.

[00:09:01] And through the rest of the episode, I'm like, where's chosen?

[00:09:03] What happened to chosen?

[00:09:04] I couldn't think of anything else.

[00:09:05] Yeah, I was thinking where the hell is Mike and then Mike comes in at the end and kind of helps Johnny with the last two.

[00:09:13] And I'm like, were you taking a shit the whole time?

[00:09:15] Where were you?

[00:09:16] It's not unconscious.

[00:09:17] Open up the art collection.

[00:09:19] Yeah.

[00:09:20] What can I steal?

[00:09:22] This was nice.

[00:09:24] Hey, I mean he's got to have some kind of taste if he was able to know that painting was a Rembrandt.

[00:09:30] I couldn't tell.

[00:09:31] I couldn't look at it and tell you it's a Rembrandt.

[00:09:33] I couldn't even tell you who the artist was.

[00:09:35] Of course, Daniel knew too.

[00:09:36] Yeah, of course, Daniel knew.

[00:09:37] He's probably got three of them in his house.

[00:09:42] Yeah, just just the level of the stakes in this one.

[00:09:44] Yeah, it blew me away.

[00:09:46] It's a perfect title for that point to Rima, right?

[00:09:50] Yeah, Rima.

[00:09:52] All right.

[00:09:53] Did you forget my name or just I just had an order set in my head and then I was like, just mess it up.

[00:09:59] You there.

[00:10:02] The female.

[00:10:05] I'll just tag on to what Ben was saying because I also was very much on edge because I was like, wow, I don't think we've ever seen, you know, like you were saying, the fights have all been really great.

[00:10:18] But the stakes were definitely a lot higher.

[00:10:20] Like you said, I was like, man, this is like real.

[00:10:22] This is not just, oh, I'm pissed at you and we have this rivalry since high school going on or whatever.

[00:10:29] You know, there were weapons, you know, Silver got out the Katana and chosen, of course, you know, opens up his jacket.

[00:10:37] He's got, I don't know what the hell those things are called.

[00:10:39] He finally got to use his sigh.

[00:10:41] Yes.

[00:10:43] Yeah, yeah, you can't show him and not use them, right?

[00:10:46] So, but yeah, I was like, oh man, these are weapons.

[00:10:49] This isn't just like, you know, we're just punching and kicking each other and laying each other out and we're getting a little bloody.

[00:10:54] You know, someone could really get hurt.

[00:10:57] So I was definitely on edge for that.

[00:11:01] I was really scared for chosen for all the things that you just said, you know, I thought he just totally got sliced and they showed that really well.

[00:11:10] I mean, that was some pretty good whatever effects.

[00:11:12] Yeah, that was some good effects with the cut in the blood.

[00:11:16] But all the fights, I thought were really great.

[00:11:19] You know, Stingray got his like redemption moment and fight.

[00:11:22] He's clearly been paying attention or practicing or something.

[00:11:25] He, you know, laid out those kids.

[00:11:28] Dimitri finally got a piece of Kyler.

[00:11:31] I loved that because I was like, you know, he's definitely been due for that and you can definitely see Dimitri has really grown, you know, as a fighter.

[00:11:42] So I really liked all of that.

[00:11:45] All the fights were really great.

[00:11:47] And the fight, even with Silver and chosen was really great.

[00:11:50] It was very kind of old school martial arts.

[00:11:54] Yeah, there's one scene in particular where after Silver draws first blood with the Katana, you see the sight.

[00:12:01] You see that there's the scene with the blade and the blood dripping off the blade.

[00:12:06] I was like, if that's not Samurai, that's like, yeah, there's such a cool.

[00:12:10] That was cool.

[00:12:11] There's a cool shot.

[00:12:12] It was great because first Terry Silver looks like he's better.

[00:12:17] He's beating chosen up and then chosen starts winning and gets a good one in on him.

[00:12:23] So then he pulls out the sword, which was cool because it's like, dude, what are you doing here?

[00:12:28] But also he had shown chosen, if not that sort one like it early on in the series.

[00:12:35] And then he says he's not afraid to die.

[00:12:40] Terry and then yeah, he's just cutting him left and right out by the pool and says I was oh yeah,

[00:12:48] then chosen got tripped him and had his side right at his neck and Terry says I was meant to die on the battlefield.

[00:12:54] Do it.

[00:12:55] And I feel like he kind of meant that because he's been crazy Terry, but then chosen got distracted,

[00:12:59] which is kind of dumb, but whatever by fighting sounds and Terry took the opportunity to slice his back.

[00:13:04] And it cut so deep.

[00:13:06] And I was like, why did he fall over unconscious from being sliced in the back?

[00:13:11] But whatever.

[00:13:12] It was pretty harrowing.

[00:13:14] Yeah, it was intense.

[00:13:16] Yeah, maybe the shock of it.

[00:13:17] I don't know.

[00:13:18] I know he was they were all pretty drunk and maybe the shock of it.

[00:13:22] You know, I've never been sliced by a Katana before, but it's got to be a shock to the system.

[00:13:31] All right, Rich.

[00:13:33] Yeah, so damn chosen versus silver all the fights completely felt serious.

[00:13:39] I had the same thing been I was totally completely anxious.

[00:13:42] I ended up watching him watching it three times.

[00:13:44] But you know what on the third time if there is if I had to nitpick just a little bit,

[00:13:51] I feel there's a little bit of a gray area in there is like who's really the best of the best?

[00:13:57] Because if you think about it, chosen was pretty blasted.

[00:14:00] I mean, he had a couple of Long Island ice teas right?

[00:14:02] He was wasted.

[00:14:03] That ain't no Kitty drink man.

[00:14:05] No.

[00:14:06] He should have had a short island ice tea.

[00:14:08] Yeah, that's the same thing.

[00:14:10] Maybe he should have had short island ice tea.

[00:14:14] And then, you know, Barnes, he just bust in and gets knocked out like so early right in the,

[00:14:20] you know, beginnings of it.

[00:14:21] Is that what happened?

[00:14:22] He got knocked out.

[00:14:23] Yeah, the guy hit him in the back of the head with like a statue or something.

[00:14:26] Right.

[00:14:27] And then also, but then Daniel was saying judging by the size of his pupils because

[00:14:31] Daniel's like, you know, trying to dissuade everyone.

[00:14:33] He's like, we're all drunk.

[00:14:34] He's all but looking at the size of his pupil.

[00:14:36] He's on something even stronger.

[00:14:38] So, you know, maybe that takes Barnes out of the picture as far as being at his best.

[00:14:43] But Johnny, I think he had the best showing.

[00:14:45] I mean, that dude was kicking ass with four other senseis and one of them even got their

[00:14:51] fingers cut off.

[00:14:52] I think he said that Ben.

[00:14:53] Yeah.

[00:14:54] Which is bad ass as Johnny would say.

[00:14:56] Right.

[00:14:57] And then when, so he dodged right?

[00:15:00] And then the other sensei accidentally cut the guy's finger off and I, it was like

[00:15:04] we're watching a Schwarzenegger movie all of a sudden, blood's just popping out.

[00:15:07] And then Johnny goes over and he's going, oh, and Johnny fucking kicks him in the

[00:15:12] head.

[00:15:13] Yeah.

[00:15:14] He was already out of commission.

[00:15:16] Ease his pain.

[00:15:17] Pretty hilarious.

[00:15:18] It's like the double tap in Zombieland.

[00:15:22] But then, okay.

[00:15:23] So then we got Daniel and Silver, right?

[00:15:26] But Silver was already kind of beat up.

[00:15:28] So I'm like, I thought the same thing.

[00:15:30] I was like, did Daniel verify with Terry?

[00:15:34] He did do the crane kick, which was pretty cool though.

[00:15:37] Well, Silver didn't get one hit in on Daniel.

[00:15:40] No.

[00:15:41] And you're right.

[00:15:42] I mean, that has to be taken into account that he just had to take on Chosa and

[00:15:46] before that.

[00:15:47] Yeah.

[00:15:48] None of this detracted from the excitement and kick ass choreography and everything.

[00:15:52] Actors did great.

[00:15:53] Everything was perfect.

[00:15:54] I was just a little curious.

[00:15:55] I wonder if the show did that on purpose, you know?

[00:15:57] It's like introduce a little gray area to keep us guessing.

[00:16:00] Well, who would have really won?

[00:16:02] Yeah, they were really on their best day.

[00:16:04] Yeah.

[00:16:05] I was thinking back during the movies of like Chosen, Johnny and Mike Barnes,

[00:16:14] who would win.

[00:16:16] And Daniel.

[00:16:19] I mean, Daniel beat up Chosen back then.

[00:16:22] Yeah.

[00:16:23] I think Chosen would win.

[00:16:24] Using that stupid drum technique.

[00:16:26] Except Daniel probably.

[00:16:28] But Daniel, I don't think could have taken on Mike.

[00:16:30] Mike beat the shit out of Daniel.

[00:16:32] And then he got one punch in and won the tournament because of those stupid

[00:16:35] rules.

[00:16:36] Right?

[00:16:37] So I don't know.

[00:16:38] He did have been keeping it up though.

[00:16:39] He did only get one point on Barnes.

[00:16:41] Oh, back in the day.

[00:16:43] Yeah.

[00:16:44] I mean, it's all whatever the writers decide, right?

[00:16:46] But Mike Barnes was like a professional practically,

[00:16:50] like the bad boy of karate.

[00:16:52] So but it was all tournament stuff.

[00:16:54] Who knows?

[00:16:55] I think Chosen.

[00:16:57] I would think Chosen could beat any of them.

[00:17:00] But then again, in the movie, Daniel just beat him fair and square.

[00:17:04] So I don't know.

[00:17:05] It's hard to say.

[00:17:06] I don't know.

[00:17:07] I doubt Daniel.

[00:17:09] Like if it was real and Daniel had as much training as he had,

[00:17:13] he'd probably be the worst of all of them.

[00:17:16] Yeah.

[00:17:17] I wish Daniel had a little bigger part in the fight.

[00:17:19] But he got what he needed to get.

[00:17:22] Yeah, it was kind of a cool moment to see Mike Barnes, Chosen and Johnny all

[00:17:27] working together.

[00:17:28] But then it was kind of, it felt a little lacking because Daniel wasn't there.

[00:17:32] It's like, well, you couldn't have had all these guys and Terry Silver

[00:17:35] in the same scene.

[00:17:36] Like everybody, like the culmination of all three movies in one scene,

[00:17:41] but Daniel was missing.

[00:17:42] So we never got it.

[00:17:44] Yeah.

[00:17:45] Daniel kind of took the high road on this.

[00:17:46] I think they might have done that on purpose.

[00:17:48] You know, he wasn't doing the breaking and entering and yeah, you even, yeah.

[00:17:53] Yeah, that's true.

[00:17:54] He goes, yeah, I'm not going to fight these kids.

[00:17:57] And there's that scene in Karate Kid where Miyagi finds all the Cobra Kai

[00:18:03] about to kill Daniel basically when they're in their skeleton Halloween

[00:18:07] costume at the fence there and it's all misty.

[00:18:10] And you know, they're like, no mercy man.

[00:18:12] And he's had enough Johnny.

[00:18:14] No.

[00:18:15] And so then Mr. Miyagi jumps over the fence and beats them all up, right?

[00:18:19] And then they're like, I heard you jumped a bunch of kids like kind of

[00:18:24] a little bit of judgment there.

[00:18:27] And so I felt like it was similar here because Daniel's like,

[00:18:30] I don't want to fight kids.

[00:18:32] And then Stingray goes in and fights him.

[00:18:34] And he even did the same move afterwards that Miyagi did after

[00:18:38] he fought the Cobra Kai back then.

[00:18:40] He's kind of moving his arms back and forth like that.

[00:18:44] I never picked up on that part.

[00:18:46] That's what you do after you beat up a bunch of kids.

[00:18:49] You got to get calm and centered again.

[00:18:52] Yeah, I don't know about that.

[00:18:56] Well, my first one is my favorite part Daniel and Terry.

[00:19:02] Terry is like trying to needle him like he does everything you did

[00:19:06] to try and stop me amounted to nothing but pain.

[00:19:08] You got your ass kicked, Danny boy.

[00:19:10] Now you can either accept that or I can kick it again right now.

[00:19:13] First, I took care of chosen.

[00:19:15] Now you this is where Miyagi doh ends and then Daniel says very centered

[00:19:19] Miyagi doh existed before any of us.

[00:19:21] It'll be around long after we're gone.

[00:19:23] The roots are strong so the tree will survive.

[00:19:25] And then I loved how they had the flashback to Terry training Daniel

[00:19:29] in the quick, right?

[00:19:31] The quick silver method.

[00:19:32] Yeah, rule number one a man can't stand.

[00:19:34] He can't fight and then Daniel hits him and pushes him down to the ground.

[00:19:38] Rule number two, a man can't breathe.

[00:19:40] He can't fight.

[00:19:41] Daniel punches him hard in the chest and he's struggling for breath.

[00:19:44] Rule number three, a man can't see.

[00:19:46] He can't fight and right as he's grabbing that trophy to use as a weapon.

[00:19:50] Daniel's taking the crane stance and it's like, oh yeah, here it comes.

[00:19:55] Like it's about time for another crane kick because it's rare

[00:19:59] and he plants it right in his face in your face.

[00:20:02] Terry goes on the ground and capacitated and as soon as he went up to do that,

[00:20:06] I mean, I got excited, but I knew it was going to work because that's the third time

[00:20:11] he's used it once of course with Johnny and it was probably good.

[00:20:14] Johnny wasn't there to see that or it might have triggered some PTSD.

[00:20:18] And then second was at the end of karate kid two.

[00:20:21] He tried it on chosen and chosen blocked it and and I'm like, Hey,

[00:20:25] I thought you said if do right no can defense, but that's ridiculous.

[00:20:29] It's a kick.

[00:20:30] Of course you can defend it.

[00:20:31] But anyway, I thought since he failed using it the second time that

[00:20:35] the third time they wouldn't have him fail again, you know, this felt like

[00:20:38] the time for it to succeed and it really did just right in the face.

[00:20:41] Yeah.

[00:20:42] So satisfying.

[00:20:43] Good timing and everything.

[00:20:44] I love to how he blocked silver.

[00:20:46] He blocked the silver bullet.

[00:20:48] Yeah, that's right.

[00:20:49] And then he punched him in his face and his elbow.

[00:20:51] That nice.

[00:20:52] That to me, I think was probably the most badass moment of that fight.

[00:20:56] Yeah.

[00:20:57] Blocked the silver bullet.

[00:20:58] It was cool.

[00:20:59] And then countered with a punch to the face right after.

[00:21:01] Yeah.

[00:21:02] Cause you see Terry would get his hand all ready to go and you're like, oh shit,

[00:21:07] oh shit.

[00:21:08] And then all the Cobra Kai kids take off their shirts and throw it on Terry.

[00:21:13] And I'm like, is that because he cheated or just cause he got his ass kicked?

[00:21:17] I think it's a little a column A and column B.

[00:21:21] Little bit of both, I think.

[00:21:23] Yeah.

[00:21:24] It's like the opposite of the whole Rocky and Russia effect Rocky.

[00:21:27] Like if you lose, it's like, you're a loser.

[00:21:31] But yeah, I thought I was trying to think, OK, why was this different?

[00:21:35] Why did Daniel beat him this time when he Terry beat Daniel almost to death the time

[00:21:40] before I hadn't considered what you said, but you're right.

[00:21:43] He had just been in a fight.

[00:21:45] Terry had.

[00:21:46] But I was also thinking Daniel's just in a better headspace because he before

[00:21:51] he was kind of not getting any sleep.

[00:21:54] He was drinking a lot.

[00:21:55] His wife had left.

[00:21:57] And now he's had all his people in his corner and support from them.

[00:22:01] And Amanda said, we're all with you, Daniel.

[00:22:03] Do what you have to do.

[00:22:04] So I think that has something to do with it too.

[00:22:06] I think so too.

[00:22:07] I think he just got like a big go ahead and honey kick his ass from his wife.

[00:22:10] Yeah.

[00:22:11] Yes.

[00:22:12] Kick his ass, see bass.

[00:22:13] Oh yeah.

[00:22:14] When she walks up and says, do what you got to do.

[00:22:16] I was like, oh, here we go.

[00:22:17] Like this is happening now.

[00:22:19] Yeah.

[00:22:20] So that was a not be distracted glorious moment.

[00:22:23] I thought, OK, Ben.

[00:22:25] And even go back on that real point real quick to seeing the faces of some

[00:22:29] of the people in the background when this fight was happening,

[00:22:31] like when Kyler was taking a step back and he's got this, oh,

[00:22:34] this is going to be good.

[00:22:36] And then another there's another point where it centers over on

[00:22:39] Hawk and Hawks got this like, this is happening.

[00:22:42] Like the look on the faces of the people in the background

[00:22:45] were great.

[00:22:46] There was someone in the background that was like nearly in tears

[00:22:48] or something.

[00:22:49] And yeah, Kyler's like, yeah, this is going to be good.

[00:22:51] So it was, yeah.

[00:22:53] I very much enjoyed scanning the faces of everyone.

[00:22:56] Well, I mean, if you're a student, that's the best thing that could

[00:22:59] happen is watch your teacher kick some ass.

[00:23:01] Yeah.

[00:23:02] And his kids were so beaming with pride afterwards.

[00:23:05] Amanda was more worried, but they're like, dad, my dad's the best.

[00:23:13] Kind of staying with the whole crane kick thing.

[00:23:16] I kind of felt like that was a great.

[00:23:21] I mean, if we don't get a season six, which I hope we do, but if we don't,

[00:23:25] I kind of feel satisfied with the way the series ended taking away

[00:23:31] the whole crease escaping from prison thing.

[00:23:34] I would have actually felt satisfied if this was a series finale.

[00:23:38] Yeah.

[00:23:39] Because in my opinion, the show in season one started with a crane

[00:23:44] kick and it ended with a crane kick.

[00:23:46] We got the replay of Johnny taking the crane kick to the face,

[00:23:49] which kind of kicked off the whole series.

[00:23:51] And now it ends with another.

[00:23:53] What's that?

[00:23:55] Kicked off the whole series.

[00:23:57] Oh, I didn't even mean that, but it worked.

[00:24:02] But then it ended with a crane kick as well.

[00:24:05] You know, and in the five seasons that we've seen these characters,

[00:24:08] I kind of feel like Johnny and Daniel's story has been told at this point.

[00:24:13] Johnny has, he's either come to grips or, you know,

[00:24:18] come clean with all his enemies and he's befriended them or he's

[00:24:21] defeated the ones that he couldn't.

[00:24:23] Johnny is taking care of his demons.

[00:24:25] Yeah, he's exercised all his demons as has Johnny.

[00:24:28] I mean, that's what I meant.

[00:24:30] Johnny.

[00:24:31] Oh, OK.

[00:24:32] Yeah.

[00:24:33] I mean, Johnny even says in the conversation with chosen like it

[00:24:35] was more about he was stuck looking back to the past and now

[00:24:39] he's looking to the future in that it was never Daniel's fault.

[00:24:42] It was all just his perspective of life, which has changed.

[00:24:46] I mean, this entire season there was not one time that Johnny and

[00:24:49] Daniel were against each other.

[00:24:50] And I loved that.

[00:24:51] Mm hmm.

[00:24:52] Me too.

[00:24:53] And that's another reason why I'm nervous about the series going

[00:24:58] forward because we're kind of feels like in happily ever after

[00:25:01] land where the story is boring and no one ever follows it anymore.

[00:25:04] And the only way to get a story to be interesting is to

[00:25:07] generate conflict.

[00:25:09] And I don't want them to make some conflict between Johnny

[00:25:14] and Daniel anymore.

[00:25:15] Just want them to be friends now.

[00:25:16] Well, it might not be them.

[00:25:18] That's the conflict.

[00:25:19] It could be I mean, because Chris is still out there.

[00:25:21] He's the one, you know, thing that's remaining that they might

[00:25:25] need to nip in the bud depending on what he has planned now

[00:25:30] that he's out.

[00:25:31] But, you know, I liked this season one reason because we

[00:25:36] didn't have some of that love triangle crap going on with

[00:25:40] the kids like we had an earlier seasons like every time

[00:25:43] Johnny and Daniel were like starting to like maybe see eye

[00:25:47] to eye and maybe start getting along and they were almost

[00:25:50] so close and then something stupid would happen with the

[00:25:52] kids and it would all fall apart again.

[00:25:54] And none of that happened this season.

[00:25:56] They were all, you know, the kids kind of like Robbie

[00:25:59] and Miguel, um, they, they kind of saw eye to eye and

[00:26:03] they patched things up and it didn't like fall apart

[00:26:05] like the next episode or something.

[00:26:07] Johnny and Daniel stayed, you know, like friends, you

[00:26:11] know, if you will.

[00:26:12] So I thought that was what made this season a little

[00:26:16] bit more unique but so that he's out there.

[00:26:18] So he could still create some drama.

[00:26:21] That's true.

[00:26:22] They are the United against a common enemy this time.

[00:26:24] Yeah.

[00:26:25] And I, I loved that this season.

[00:26:27] I love that Johnny and Daniel were friends the whole

[00:26:29] time and got to be even more friends as the season

[00:26:31] went along.

[00:26:32] But I just don't know how long the show could sustain

[00:26:34] that maybe wrong that they could just be friends again

[00:26:39] next season and it would be fine.

[00:26:40] But typically, um, writers get antsy at that kind of

[00:26:44] a thing and look at Morgan on Walking Dead, you know

[00:26:47] how he's flip flopped back and forth so many times

[00:26:49] because they, it gets boring when characters are

[00:26:53] stagnant and they need space to grow.

[00:26:56] And when you're already self actualized, then

[00:26:59] you don't have that thing to overcome anymore.

[00:27:02] And Johnny feels kind of like that right now.

[00:27:04] He doesn't have that thing.

[00:27:05] So they're going to have to give him some obstacles

[00:27:06] and hopefully they can do a good job.

[00:27:07] I'm just like worrying over nothing, hopefully.

[00:27:09] Well, that's why even, even what I said, like

[00:27:11] even if they do a season six, I was a little

[00:27:14] fearful at the same time because I'd like to see

[00:27:16] it, but then I thought, well, what are they going

[00:27:18] to do?

[00:27:19] I mean, season six will basically just be 10 episodes

[00:27:21] and it'll all be the sci-fi, sci-fi.

[00:27:23] Like that's pretty much what it is.

[00:27:25] It's this big international tournament, but how do

[00:27:27] you do that?

[00:27:28] And then when we started this conversation again,

[00:27:30] I didn't think of Kim Dae-yeon being the

[00:27:32] actual villain of next season and maybe

[00:27:35] bringing her dojo into it to face off or

[00:27:37] taking over Cobra Kai, whichever way they do it.

[00:27:40] And then her actually being the villain next season.

[00:27:43] And then since you said that, I was like,

[00:27:45] okay, that could actually work.

[00:27:47] It could be.

[00:27:48] I still feel like the characters we know from

[00:27:52] the movies and care about are the ones that

[00:27:55] feel like their stories are finished now kind of,

[00:27:58] kind of not totally, but yeah, anyway.

[00:28:00] I mean another factor to all this is almost

[00:28:03] every season I felt like, how are they going to

[00:28:06] stay good?

[00:28:07] How are they going to top it?

[00:28:08] And then they do.

[00:28:09] So maybe I should just have faith.

[00:28:11] That's a good point, Ben.

[00:28:12] Plus Dae-yeon knows Kreese, right?

[00:28:15] So if they go overseas or something like that

[00:28:17] to train or fight or something, you know,

[00:28:19] Kreese could, Kreese go out of the country.

[00:28:21] Oh, right.

[00:28:22] Yeah.

[00:28:23] That's right because she was looking for

[00:28:24] Kreese when she arrived.

[00:28:25] Yeah.

[00:28:26] That's right.

[00:28:27] So she does know who Kreese is.

[00:28:28] I mean, but again, like it's a good

[00:28:30] opportunity if they do do another season

[00:28:32] and the Johnny and Daniel stories are told

[00:28:35] and they kind of just take a back seat in

[00:28:37] the next season as the senseis.

[00:28:39] It's kind of a good opportunity to focus

[00:28:41] more on the kids now and almost season

[00:28:44] six be kind of like a passing of the torch

[00:28:47] kind of thing.

[00:28:48] I don't want to see that.

[00:28:49] So Richard would love that.

[00:28:51] Either that or that.

[00:28:52] Dude, I liked your idea, Rima.

[00:28:53] Last week Rima said she wants to see

[00:28:55] some blood sport.

[00:28:56] Yeah, forget the kids.

[00:28:57] Yeah, I guess.

[00:28:58] There's 60 years old, but that's all right.

[00:29:01] They're they're instituting a new.

[00:29:03] There's a new rule in the Senka and

[00:29:05] the Senpai killer.

[00:29:06] Rekill it's it's a sensei versus sensei now.

[00:29:09] I mean, I think you're right.

[00:29:11] You made me think of something else

[00:29:13] that Diane Kim knows.

[00:29:15] I mean, Kim Diane knows Kreese

[00:29:18] and I think that's why they focused

[00:29:21] on her as a little girl in that

[00:29:23] flashback and him winking at her

[00:29:25] to remind us that they have this

[00:29:27] connection and I really do think

[00:29:29] that her she's going to fill a big

[00:29:32] role in the villain spot next season,

[00:29:34] maybe with him, you know.

[00:29:36] I could see the two of them together

[00:29:38] as the villain next season.

[00:29:39] It would make sense.

[00:29:40] And she was great.

[00:29:41] So yeah, she's pretty intimidating.

[00:29:44] That'd be cool.

[00:29:45] Okay, I'm scared of me.

[00:29:47] I'm a petite woman.

[00:29:50] I'm lost.

[00:29:51] Where are we?

[00:29:52] Rima.

[00:29:53] Rima your turn.

[00:29:54] Johnny and Carmen.

[00:29:58] I love to see it.

[00:30:01] I thought it was such a sweet moment

[00:30:02] when they were at the appointment

[00:30:04] getting the sonogram pictures

[00:30:06] and Johnny being completely clueless

[00:30:09] as we would expect him to be.

[00:30:11] But thought it was super sweet,

[00:30:13] you know, I love those two together.

[00:30:15] They're such a perfect match.

[00:30:17] You know, Johnny being a little bit

[00:30:19] of a knucklehead about some things

[00:30:21] and Carmen always just being so patient

[00:30:23] with him and really just seeing

[00:30:26] who he really is and how he has risen

[00:30:30] above to be a better person

[00:30:33] and see how much he's grown

[00:30:35] and really earned that relationship with Carmen.

[00:30:38] And I really just want the best things for them

[00:30:41] and seeing them in this episode

[00:30:43] and seeing Johnny when he was fighting

[00:30:45] all of those other senseis

[00:30:46] and you're like, oh man, he's going down, right?

[00:30:49] You know, they got chosen

[00:30:50] and got all these guys going up against Johnny

[00:30:52] and he's really getting beat down.

[00:30:54] But then he gets like that second win

[00:30:57] after seeing that sonogram picture

[00:30:59] and realizes he's got all that, you know,

[00:31:01] to fight for.

[00:31:02] He's got, you know, the boys

[00:31:03] and he's got Carmen and the new baby on the way

[00:31:05] and then seeing them come together there

[00:31:07] at the end and how happy she was

[00:31:09] to see him and how happy he was to see her.

[00:31:12] It just, I love that they can throw

[00:31:14] and that's what's great about the show

[00:31:16] is because they can just throw in

[00:31:17] all these different genres.

[00:31:18] You got all the action.

[00:31:19] You got some comedy.

[00:31:20] You got the drama

[00:31:21] and then you got a little bit of,

[00:31:22] you know, love story sprinkled in, you know,

[00:31:24] and adults, not the kids.

[00:31:26] So I love that.

[00:31:28] I just love those two as a couple.

[00:31:29] You know, and if I'm confident

[00:31:31] we're going to get a season six,

[00:31:33] I don't know what they're going to do

[00:31:34] or what's going to happen.

[00:31:35] I think everything that you guys talked about

[00:31:36] is really great

[00:31:37] and I hope that that all happens.

[00:31:39] But I have to see Johnny with a baby.

[00:31:41] I mean, I have to see Johnny with a baby

[00:31:44] and it has to be a girl.

[00:31:46] I have to see him become the worry war

[00:31:48] about being a father to a daughter

[00:31:51] and you know, so that would be my wish

[00:31:54] for the next season is that enough time

[00:31:56] is passed that we get to see him

[00:31:58] with like a newborn

[00:31:59] and like changing diapers

[00:32:01] and trying to figure it all out, you know.

[00:32:03] Right?

[00:32:04] He even says when they're looking at the ultrasound,

[00:32:06] holy shit, that was a kick.

[00:32:07] My little boy's a kicker.

[00:32:09] It's like, well, we know his expectations, you know.

[00:32:12] And yeah, I was going to say

[00:32:14] maybe it would be actually interesting

[00:32:16] to see how he handles a boy

[00:32:18] given that he didn't have a good role model, you know.

[00:32:20] But he already has boys.

[00:32:22] He's got Miguel and Robbie, so.

[00:32:24] We need more girls.

[00:32:25] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:32:26] We need more girls, but either way would be fine.

[00:32:28] Just, you know, having to be present, you know,

[00:32:31] for a baby and seeing him rise

[00:32:34] to the responsibilities that he fell short

[00:32:37] when Robbie, you know, was younger.

[00:32:40] So I'm anxious to see that.

[00:32:42] I think it would be just more

[00:32:44] hilarious antics from Johnny, right?

[00:32:46] Just go.

[00:32:47] And I mean, this whole point of yours was Johnny and Carmen.

[00:32:50] And yeah, that's their, Carmen's crucial to Johnny.

[00:32:54] This episode made it more clear than ever to me, you know,

[00:32:57] because we've seen his growth over the seasons

[00:33:00] and him become a friend to Daniel and everything.

[00:33:03] But when he said to Chozen,

[00:33:05] I had to stop focusing on what was behind, you know,

[00:33:08] he said the kick that haunted his life

[00:33:11] and thinking if he could have dodged or blocked it,

[00:33:13] everything would be okay.

[00:33:14] But then he goes, I had to stop focusing

[00:33:16] on what was behind and start looking at

[00:33:18] what was right in front of me.

[00:33:19] And he looks over at Carmen,

[00:33:21] just looking beautiful on the dance floor.

[00:33:22] And it's like, okay, that makes that episode

[00:33:25] where Ali was flirting with him

[00:33:27] and he was like, no, no, I got something

[00:33:29] that I'm committed to or whatever.

[00:33:31] And that was a crucial milestone in his life

[00:33:36] where I think, and she's more important to his growth

[00:33:41] than anything else that's happened in the series, I think.

[00:33:43] I agree.

[00:33:44] That's a great point.

[00:33:45] She's so stabilizing.

[00:33:46] She's like rock now, you know?

[00:33:48] Well, one of the best things I've loved to do about this season

[00:33:50] two is, you know, since Johnny and Carmen are having the baby

[00:33:54] is I've enjoyed seeing how happy that has made other people

[00:33:58] as well, like seeing how happy that Robbie and Miguel

[00:34:01] were finding out about it.

[00:34:02] And then in these two episodes,

[00:34:04] Daniel and Amanda finding out that they're going to have a baby

[00:34:07] and how happy it made them.

[00:34:09] And right away Daniel's like, we got to celebrate.

[00:34:11] And I'm like, oh, it's so nice.

[00:34:13] But if there was a whole season of that, it might start get boring.

[00:34:16] I don't know.

[00:34:17] Maybe not.

[00:34:18] I love that too.

[00:34:19] Like a whole season, but come on, we got to have an episode

[00:34:21] or two, you know, him carrying like the baby on one of those

[00:34:24] carriers or something, you know?

[00:34:26] Oh, no, no, I'm not saying that you're wrong.

[00:34:28] I want to see Johnny as a father too.

[00:34:30] But my point was it was really nice, like Ben said,

[00:34:32] to see everyone so happy about it.

[00:34:34] And I love these moments of happiness among all of them.

[00:34:39] It just feels like the show needs to build up to that.

[00:34:42] And then give us the release of being able to celebrate

[00:34:46] and then get back into some hardships, you know,

[00:34:49] it has to go back and forth like that.

[00:34:51] It can't all just be celebration from here on out.

[00:34:53] I would feel like if we do get a season six

[00:34:55] and it is the final season, I mean, Carmen could be pregnant

[00:34:59] throughout the season and the series could end

[00:35:02] with Johnny having a baby.

[00:35:03] I mean, the series happens, it ends on a happy ending.

[00:35:07] I mean, and that's Johnny basically hanging up karate

[00:35:11] to be a father.

[00:35:12] I mean, that's it's a perfect ending for Johnny in my opinion.

[00:35:15] I could see that.

[00:35:17] I could also see Johnny carrying the baby on one of those

[00:35:20] little front baby hugger carriers and then doing some karate.

[00:35:23] Yeah.

[00:35:24] Loan Wolf and Cub kind of thing.

[00:35:26] Or we could just get a spin off called Cobra Guy Babies.

[00:35:29] Animated?

[00:35:31] Yeah, animated.

[00:35:35] There was a cartoon series where Daniel and Mr. Miyagi

[00:35:40] like traveled the world helping people.

[00:35:43] Really?

[00:35:44] Saturday morning cartoon, yeah.

[00:35:45] Oh, I didn't know that well.

[00:35:46] Back in the 80s.

[00:35:47] It was pretty bad.

[00:35:50] Okay.

[00:35:51] Anything else, Reema, about them two?

[00:35:53] No.

[00:35:54] Okay.

[00:35:56] Rich?

[00:35:57] Well, I thought it was an interesting choice

[00:35:59] to bring back Stingray.

[00:36:01] He had a pretty good part to play.

[00:36:03] I mean, he sort of kind of confessed, you know,

[00:36:06] with the whole Dungeons and Dragons story.

[00:36:10] But, you know, in the end it didn't really matter

[00:36:12] because the kids couldn't get the footage.

[00:36:14] So that was kind of a little aside, I guess.

[00:36:18] And I think his sole purpose was to warn Amanda and Daniel

[00:36:21] about the confrontation at the dojo, right?

[00:36:23] Because he says, I got the group text.

[00:36:25] I thought I need to tell you guys before this goes down

[00:36:28] because your kids are there.

[00:36:29] They're in danger.

[00:36:31] But then, I think somebody just mentioned this,

[00:36:33] maybe Jason, he goes and he beats up the kids

[00:36:35] standing outside, you know, to get Daniel inside

[00:36:38] because Daniel refused to fight the kids,

[00:36:40] which doesn't really send a message of redemption for me.

[00:36:43] But I mean, he's an adult beating up high school kids.

[00:36:46] You know?

[00:36:47] And so on top of everything else too,

[00:36:49] he was a bad dungeon master.

[00:36:51] Oh my God!

[00:36:52] I'm so glad I'm not AD 12 of damage.

[00:36:55] Fuck you.

[00:36:57] That seals the deal, man.

[00:36:58] Well, not only that, but not only is he a horrible

[00:37:01] dungeon master, but the kids he was playing with

[00:37:03] are also horrible players.

[00:37:06] Because I mean, not to go into too much detail,

[00:37:09] but when you die in D&D, you don't just die.

[00:37:12] Like you have to roll fortitude.

[00:37:14] I'm just letting my nerd show right now.

[00:37:16] You have to roll dice to see how long you die.

[00:37:19] It takes you to die.

[00:37:21] Like it's, you don't just die automatically

[00:37:23] in D&D like that.

[00:37:24] So I know the title is brighter than no.

[00:37:26] Well, I mean, I could see if so,

[00:37:27] if a dungeon master says you all take AD 12 of damage,

[00:37:30] I might just get up and leave too.

[00:37:32] Like fuck you, dude.

[00:37:35] You're horrible.

[00:37:37] But no, he was the most important person in the whole

[00:37:40] episode, Rich, because he went and told his true

[00:37:44] story to the police and that ended up getting

[00:37:47] Terry Silver arrested.

[00:37:49] Oh, at the end, huh?

[00:37:51] Yeah.

[00:37:52] And in fact, that might have been enough

[00:37:54] to solve the whole thing.

[00:37:55] I mean, if these kids found out Terry had

[00:37:58] beaten up Stingray within an inch of his life

[00:38:01] like a coma in the hospital and then framed

[00:38:03] someone else for it, then would it really

[00:38:05] matter to them that he also helped

[00:38:07] Tori cheat in the tournament?

[00:38:09] I mean, maybe it would have made a little

[00:38:10] difference, but I think if my sensei

[00:38:12] found out had beaten this kid up and framed

[00:38:14] somebody for it, I'd probably go find a new dojo.

[00:38:16] Yeah, I forgot about that part.

[00:38:18] I'm sorry.

[00:38:19] Yeah, no, that I'm sure that helps.

[00:38:21] And then they had the extra footage of

[00:38:23] what was the footage that they'd find?

[00:38:26] It was of Tori.

[00:38:28] Tori confronted him about cheating.

[00:38:30] Yeah.

[00:38:31] And that's what they like.

[00:38:32] I liked how all these kids are fighting, you know,

[00:38:34] and then Anthony puts a video up on the screen

[00:38:36] and they immediately are like transfixed by the screen.

[00:38:38] I'm like, yeah, that tracks.

[00:38:39] That tracks for today's generation.

[00:38:41] Oh, there's something on the screen.

[00:38:43] But I also think.

[00:38:45] I also think Stingray's redemption also.

[00:38:48] I don't think it would have happened in the moment

[00:38:50] when he beat up the kids to get Daniel in.

[00:38:52] I think it happens in the fact that he

[00:38:54] was even brave enough to go and get Daniel

[00:38:57] because I mean, he says in that whole D&D

[00:38:59] scene he couldn't do anything because he was too afraid.

[00:39:02] So to even leave and go help Daniel

[00:39:06] and Amanda and Carmen to get there,

[00:39:08] he's stepping out of that fear.

[00:39:11] So I think there's even a little redemption there.

[00:39:13] Absolutely.

[00:39:14] I mean, and telling the police, that's the main thing.

[00:39:16] He was afraid to tell what really happened.

[00:39:18] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:39:19] According to Magna Carta.

[00:39:21] According to Magna Carta.

[00:39:23] Yeah.

[00:39:24] According to Magna Carta.

[00:39:26] I'm so glad because that's what I was doing.

[00:39:28] I was searching for something there to like,

[00:39:30] because I didn't feel like he was redeeming himself,

[00:39:32] but I missed a couple of things there.

[00:39:34] So I'm glad we're talking about it.

[00:39:36] And I thought when he told the story of what happened

[00:39:39] using the D&D, you know, the dwarf and the Silverhead King.

[00:39:43] That was pretty chilling, especially when he's like,

[00:39:46] and then the Silverhead King,

[00:39:48] what, smoked the dwarf again and again and again.

[00:39:52] Yeah, he kept hitting.

[00:39:54] I was like, oh man.

[00:39:56] That was sad.

[00:39:57] Harsh, yeah.

[00:39:59] And then Sam was just like, whatever.

[00:40:01] I know.

[00:40:02] He walks right out.

[00:40:03] I felt bad for him when he was talking about that.

[00:40:06] I was like, I mean, he's got to be somewhat traumatized

[00:40:08] from that when Terry just attacked him like out of nowhere

[00:40:11] the way that he did it.

[00:40:12] It's so easy to forget or because I kind of forgot.

[00:40:15] I'm like, oh yeah, he did that and that had to be traumatizing.

[00:40:19] I mean, he beat him within an inch of his life.

[00:40:21] I mean, it's, yeah.

[00:40:22] So to even admit that that happened

[00:40:24] and even through a character, yeah, it's got to be traumatizing.

[00:40:27] And the way the guy played it, I don't know the actor's name,

[00:40:29] but this is my favorite scene of his

[00:40:31] and it made me feel more connected and sympathetic

[00:40:33] to the character than I ever had before.

[00:40:35] I thought he did a great job.

[00:40:37] I'm beginning to now redemption achieved.

[00:40:40] Is it just me or during the D&D game

[00:40:43] before all the kids came in?

[00:40:45] Was there a stranger things reference in there

[00:40:48] with the character he brought out called Metallicus?

[00:40:51] Oh yeah.

[00:40:53] The song he was playing.

[00:40:54] Definitely.

[00:40:55] I don't know.

[00:40:56] There's definitely a little eddy vibe there from Stranger Things.

[00:40:59] But the filming with that have lined up correctly

[00:41:02] for them to know?

[00:41:03] I don't know.

[00:41:05] The writers could have been talking and said like,

[00:41:07] hey, here's a little tease if you want to use it.

[00:41:11] We have D&D, you're using D&D.

[00:41:13] Kind of throw this in there.

[00:41:15] He did have some pretty good lines

[00:41:17] when he put the sunglasses on.

[00:41:19] Stingray see better in the dark.

[00:41:23] Or when he says he's full.

[00:41:25] Come with me if you want to live.

[00:41:27] What do you say?

[00:41:28] You admiral, ac-barn me.

[00:41:30] You admiral ac-barn me.

[00:41:31] Oh this is a trap.

[00:41:32] You admiral ac-barn me.

[00:41:33] This is a trap.

[00:41:34] So trap!

[00:41:35] And he said, Burt shows up and he says something like,

[00:41:38] oh hey, and then he sees all the other ones

[00:41:40] and he's all, oh Miyagi Feng is here.

[00:41:42] So he gave them their name that they might end up having.

[00:41:46] Miyagi could be foreshadowing.

[00:41:49] Okay, I think it's my turn right?

[00:41:52] So we've touched on this a lot

[00:41:54] but friendliness and characters softening towards each other.

[00:41:59] There was a lot of maturing

[00:42:01] and just being friends.

[00:42:03] Carmen and Johnny with the ultrasound.

[00:42:06] They all go clubbing.

[00:42:08] Seeing them all out dancing.

[00:42:10] Like, I've never been one to go out a lot

[00:42:13] but I've gone out and it made me want to go out

[00:42:16] and it's been a long time

[00:42:17] and I'm like, I want to be dancing with my friends right now.

[00:42:19] You spin me right around.

[00:42:21] Yeah, and they were all looking pretty good too.

[00:42:24] Yeah, yeah.

[00:42:27] Johnny talking to Chosen was so great

[00:42:31] talking about how he had to stop focusing on

[00:42:33] what was behind him and look what's right in front of me

[00:42:35] and then Chosen says we're the same.

[00:42:37] We've made mistakes.

[00:42:38] We feel guilty for the pain

[00:42:40] and they both had to do with Daniel by the way

[00:42:42] but Johnny's moved.

[00:42:43] He's like you've moved on.

[00:42:44] You have friends and family.

[00:42:45] I want the same for myself.

[00:42:46] It's just so interesting to see these two characters

[00:42:49] who were just straight up villains 35 years ago

[00:42:52] moving past it all and growing up

[00:42:54] and consoling each other and everything

[00:42:56] and then he tells Johnny,

[00:42:59] we don't hear it but that he likes Kumiko

[00:43:02] and then Johnny tells Daniel.

[00:43:05] What did he call her?

[00:43:06] I don't remember.

[00:43:07] Kokomo or something.

[00:43:09] And it's interesting because in Karate Kid 2

[00:43:13] we saw Chosen threatened to kill her

[00:43:15] if Daniel wouldn't fight him to the death.

[00:43:17] But now he tells this really, I thought,

[00:43:19] beautiful story of he and his in her past

[00:43:23] where they were children and they would play hide and seek

[00:43:25] in the ruins of King Shohashi Castle.

[00:43:28] That's the same castle where she did that dance

[00:43:30] in Karate Kid 2 and he zip lined in

[00:43:33] and threatened to kill her.

[00:43:35] But he says after disgrace in the village

[00:43:37] which was courtesy of Daniel

[00:43:39] he tried to hide from everything

[00:43:41] but Kumiko brought him out of it

[00:43:44] but he didn't let her know how he felt

[00:43:46] because he's ashamed of how he acted towards her

[00:43:49] and I was kind of, well Daniel is hearing all this

[00:43:54] and first off I'm thinking yeah, Kumiko

[00:43:57] she's the one who brought Chosen and Daniel together

[00:44:01] so I was kind of surprised that they were friends

[00:44:03] but now he's saying yeah, they'd always been friends

[00:44:06] and Daniel's like look, she's the reason you're here

[00:44:10] she went after you maybe now it's your turn to go after her

[00:44:13] and Chosen's like he thought Daniel might be uncomfortable

[00:44:17] with this because he used to date Kumiko.

[00:44:19] He said thank you Daniel-san and Daniel goes

[00:44:21] you're welcome my friend

[00:44:23] and that was just such a great thing to do

[00:44:27] and I don't know, I was proud of Daniel.

[00:44:30] Yeah, I've seen they added so much gravity too

[00:44:33] to when Chosen fell

[00:44:35] and he had that big slash to the back

[00:44:37] because I'm like that's what they do.

[00:44:39] Death flags man for Chosen.

[00:44:41] What are you doing?

[00:44:42] Yeah, why are you giving him a love interest?

[00:44:43] That just means something terrible is going to happen to the character.

[00:44:45] He's going to confess his love to Kumiko

[00:44:47] and talk about his life

[00:44:49] and I'm like oh no, no, no.

[00:44:51] And that was just it.

[00:44:53] I thought like that conversation with Daniel

[00:44:55] and Chosen was great

[00:44:57] but for me it was the phone call

[00:44:59] that he made after they left the dance club

[00:45:02] when he called Kumiko and left her a message

[00:45:05] and he said I don't remember the exact line

[00:45:07] but he says like if I had one regret

[00:45:09] it was that I didn't bring you with me.

[00:45:11] Yeah, and then he goes okay, bye-bye.

[00:45:13] He's nervous and then he's like

[00:45:15] that was great, he's all smiling.

[00:45:17] Let's go for it.

[00:45:19] But you're right that added so much gravitas

[00:45:21] to that fight with him in silver

[00:45:23] that when he fell I was like oh man

[00:45:25] why did this have to happen?

[00:45:27] Yeah, why is Chosen speaking English

[00:45:29] to Kumiko on the phone?

[00:45:31] I thought so too, I was like

[00:45:33] I couldn't afford the subtitles.

[00:45:35] Yeah.

[00:45:37] So I hope all that means

[00:45:39] that we'll see Kumiko in season 6.

[00:45:43] I know the actress liked being in the show

[00:45:45] and she's

[00:45:47] you know clearly

[00:45:49] it's

[00:45:51] pointing to that and I think it'd be great.

[00:45:53] There's also a part of me

[00:45:55] it's weird thinking of Kumiko dating Chosen

[00:45:57] I have a similar feeling

[00:45:59] like when I find out an ex-girlfriend

[00:46:01] and mine is dating someone I know

[00:46:03] I felt the same when Ali and Johnny

[00:46:05] went out on date

[00:46:07] like what are you doing?

[00:46:09] You belong with Daniel. I'm like nope Daniel's happily married

[00:46:11] he's fine.

[00:46:13] So I don't know

[00:46:15] that's weird. Yeah, I'd love to see her too.

[00:46:17] They'd make such a cute couple.

[00:46:19] Absolutely.

[00:46:21] Yeah, he needed a dancing partner

[00:46:23] it was fun to see them all out on the dance floor

[00:46:25] and poor Chosen

[00:46:27] out there you know out there

[00:46:29] I was like ah he needs Kumiko out there

[00:46:31] needs a dancer.

[00:46:33] Yeah she's a dancer too.

[00:46:35] Okay

[00:46:37] Ben your turn

[00:46:39] I just want to go through a quick checklist

[00:46:41] of some awesome things that we got this season

[00:46:43] that really built the nostalgia

[00:46:45] up

[00:46:47] as far as people

[00:46:49] you know we mentioned earlier that

[00:46:51] the one thing we didn't get was we never got

[00:46:53] everybody together

[00:46:55] in one scene we never got Daniel

[00:46:57] Silver, Mike, Chosen and Johnny

[00:46:59] in one scene however

[00:47:01] we did get Terry Silver versus Daniel part 1

[00:47:03] Daniel defeating Terry

[00:47:05] Silver part 2

[00:47:07] Chosen versus Mike Barnes in the

[00:47:09] furniture store

[00:47:11] Johnny and Chosen teaming up against the

[00:47:13] Sensei's at Colberkai

[00:47:15] Johnny, Chosen and Mike teaming up against

[00:47:17] Terry Silver like

[00:47:19] I think just from

[00:47:21] as a fan of all three movies

[00:47:23] yes that includes the third one

[00:47:25] I think it was just cool

[00:47:27] to see all these different moments

[00:47:29] throughout the season of all these different people

[00:47:31] and like I said the only regret I have

[00:47:33] is that we just didn't get everybody together

[00:47:35] at one point

[00:47:37] Yeah I'm just amazed

[00:47:39] that they can keep giving us those

[00:47:41] like fan-servicing

[00:47:43] moments that totally land

[00:47:45] after five seasons

[00:47:47] I would have thought they'd be all exhausted by now

[00:47:49] and they keep on doing it

[00:47:51] It's amazing.

[00:47:53] The only thing is Hillary Swank

[00:47:55] Well

[00:47:57] one other person I would like to see

[00:47:59] that I could think of was Dutch

[00:48:01] who was

[00:48:03] the douchiest Colberkai

[00:48:05] OG guy and he did come back

[00:48:07] with the other ones

[00:48:09] Get him a body bag!

[00:48:11] No that was Bobby or Tommy

[00:48:13] But Dutch is the one who was

[00:48:15] itching to start a fight

[00:48:17] You want to fight? Come on in the dressing room

[00:48:19] and he had this intense look in his eyes

[00:48:21] Well Tommy is the one that passed away too right?

[00:48:23] Yeah

[00:48:25] Yeah Dutch is in jail

[00:48:27] I think in the series

[00:48:29] but that's because the actor

[00:48:31] he has a business or something and he didn't want to

[00:48:33] leave it to be in the show

[00:48:35] It's actually Steve McQueen's son

[00:48:37] I forgot his name but

[00:48:39] he's alive

[00:48:41] It would be cool to see him back

[00:48:43] But yeah I just love

[00:48:45] seeing all these different team ups

[00:48:47] and they're team ups that you never

[00:48:49] have imagined ever happening

[00:48:51] and it kind of leads me to a question

[00:48:53] that I'll post all three of you but more specifically you Jason

[00:48:55] This season

[00:48:57] has done such a great job

[00:48:59] in doing a 180 on chosen for me

[00:49:01] to the point where this season

[00:49:03] I think made chosen probably my favorite character

[00:49:05] of the entire series

[00:49:07] Not just for the comic relief

[00:49:09] but because there's so much

[00:49:11] when you learn so much more about his character

[00:49:13] that you didn't from Karate Kid 2

[00:49:15] and the heart that he has

[00:49:17] it really made me love the character

[00:49:19] but it makes me wonder

[00:49:21] if you were now at the end of this season

[00:49:23] to go back and re-watch

[00:49:25] Karate Kid 2

[00:49:27] would it kind of change the way you see it?

[00:49:29] You know I went back

[00:49:31] and watched one scene

[00:49:33] today

[00:49:35] so I could remember something and it was

[00:49:39] a scene with chosen

[00:49:41] and I got more

[00:49:43] of that slowness in him

[00:49:45] sort of twinkle in his eye

[00:49:47] and it actually made me

[00:49:49] like the chosen

[00:49:51] back then a little more

[00:49:53] so kind of weird

[00:49:55] I know just because knowing how he turns out

[00:49:57] and how charming he is

[00:49:59] you know I could see a little bit of that charm there

[00:50:01] so

[00:50:03] and then when he was upset by something

[00:50:05] I almost felt bad for him I didn't watch the whole movie

[00:50:07] it was just one scene so

[00:50:09] I don't know

[00:50:11] it was the one because

[00:50:13] I don't know if he was going to go back

[00:50:15] and watch the next point but where

[00:50:17] he cheated Daniel

[00:50:19] in the market

[00:50:21] that's an interesting experiment

[00:50:23] I don't know they're so completely different

[00:50:25] now

[00:50:27] that's what I mean like I'm curious

[00:50:29] if I were to go back and watch too

[00:50:31] which I'm sure I will again at some point

[00:50:33] how I'm gonna feel about chosen as a character

[00:50:35] I think

[00:50:37] just based on that one little scene

[00:50:39] I thought oh yeah they're almost like two different characters

[00:50:41] I was like nope I can see the seeds

[00:50:43] of Latter-day chosen here

[00:50:45] and he's so feeling

[00:50:47] so bad about how he was back then

[00:50:49] but there's still a connection there

[00:50:51] and it made me feel like yeah this is like a troubled

[00:50:53] youth who

[00:50:55] found his way eventually

[00:50:57] well in that scene

[00:50:59] a couple episodes back between him and Johnny

[00:51:01] when they're both kind of roasting Daniel

[00:51:03] a little bit

[00:51:05] between him he had a little bit of that glint

[00:51:07] of old chosen

[00:51:09] he's still a little bit

[00:51:11] has just a little bit of that

[00:51:13] still in him but in a more evolved

[00:51:15] like good natured way

[00:51:17] so I'm like it's a good

[00:51:19] representation of

[00:51:21] when we see him in Crotica too to where he is now

[00:51:23] and it's like it makes perfect sense

[00:51:25] you know it's not a departure for me

[00:51:27] I think

[00:51:29] Daniel like he offered to buy the next round

[00:51:31] and chosen's like no no

[00:51:33] I'll buy the round and Daniel's like no

[00:51:35] I buy it

[00:51:37] I'm kind of teasing him about how he is

[00:51:39] or something

[00:51:41] so Rich

[00:51:43] you still think Daniel's

[00:51:45] damaged goods

[00:51:47] Daniel

[00:51:49] well not really

[00:51:51] not anymore I mean

[00:51:53] he's the one that took the high road

[00:51:55] he's the one that kept the cool head

[00:51:57] he's the one that kind of kept the party together

[00:51:59] he keeps the ball rolling

[00:52:01] he got what he wanted

[00:52:03] he defeated Silver

[00:52:05] in the most intelligent and best way

[00:52:07] you can I think

[00:52:09] so do you wish that you had faith in him the whole time

[00:52:11] or

[00:52:13] well no because that's what made all these episodes so great

[00:52:15] I had faith

[00:52:17] I will say one of the most interesting things

[00:52:19] about listening to this to you guys

[00:52:21] over the past four seasons

[00:52:23] or four episodes for this season

[00:52:25] is hearing the differences

[00:52:27] between team Johnny and team not

[00:52:29] Johnny because I've kind of fallen

[00:52:31] with both of you at different times

[00:52:33] I'm sure I love it

[00:52:35] even though in the moment I get kind of worked up

[00:52:37] it makes the podcast so much better

[00:52:39] it's been such a great dynamic listening to

[00:52:41] and I'm like I kind of agree with Jason on this point

[00:52:43] no I kind of agree with Richard and Remo

[00:52:45] on this one like it's been

[00:52:47] kind of back and forth and I love it

[00:52:49] that's good to hear

[00:52:51] that's what I've read online

[00:52:53] to people are like I love that

[00:52:55] oh that's good

[00:52:57] jump ship

[00:52:59] no it takes two Johnny supporters

[00:53:01] to go up against one Daniel

[00:53:03] so we need you here

[00:53:05] oh all right

[00:53:07] so whose turn is it

[00:53:11] I just went

[00:53:13] I think it's Remus turn

[00:53:15] this is

[00:53:17] pretty short and to the point

[00:53:19] I don't have a lot to elaborate but

[00:53:21] and I know that this show is definitely not the place

[00:53:23] for laws or logic

[00:53:25] but I guess we're just okay with kidnapping

[00:53:27] now

[00:53:31] there's always a lot of questionable

[00:53:33] things that happen and you're like what

[00:53:35] and things it just doesn't make

[00:53:37] sense sometimes in the logic but that scene

[00:53:39] with Tori

[00:53:41] in the dojo when she had at first

[00:53:43] refused that challenge to

[00:53:45] break the stones

[00:53:47] you know is silver

[00:53:49] and Sensei Kim were

[00:53:51] kind of giving her a little bit of a lesson

[00:53:53] there

[00:53:55] she refused and

[00:53:57] all the sensei's blocked her way

[00:53:59] I'm like

[00:54:01] what she's like 16

[00:54:03] 17 years old

[00:54:05] and you're not going to let her leave

[00:54:07] you can't do that

[00:54:09] I mean it just really

[00:54:11] I don't know why

[00:54:13] that over so many other things

[00:54:15] kind of like other things I'm like

[00:54:17] yeah that's wrong but okay

[00:54:19] whatever you know just kind of ride it off

[00:54:21] and move on but that really bothered me

[00:54:23] and that they forced her

[00:54:25] to

[00:54:27] do that challenge and essentially I don't know if she

[00:54:29] definitively broke her hand or not but she was

[00:54:31] severely injured

[00:54:33] I'm like that's not a

[00:54:35] choice to

[00:54:37] injure yourself or

[00:54:39] you're not going to be able

[00:54:41] to leave and if you do want to leave you have to

[00:54:43] take out all these sensei's to be able to go

[00:54:45] I didn't like that

[00:54:47] and of course Mike Barnes stole the car with all of

[00:54:49] them in it and kind of essentially kidnapped them to

[00:54:51] slightly less

[00:54:53] threatening but still it was

[00:54:55] kind of there I think once they realized it was him

[00:54:57] it was okay but at first you didn't know that

[00:54:59] I mean how did Mike know

[00:55:01] that Daniel was going to be in that limo

[00:55:03] and how did he lock them in

[00:55:05] from the inside these are questions that we should

[00:55:07] not be asking about

[00:55:09] I think in limos you can do that

[00:55:11] I think you have master controls

[00:55:13] up in there

[00:55:15] I think

[00:55:17] and he was stalking them

[00:55:19] I don't know if he was

[00:55:21] probably scoping them out

[00:55:23] he just like did a bunch of speed and sat in the limo

[00:55:25] waiting

[00:55:27] for a second there I actually

[00:55:29] thought there was a moment where maybe

[00:55:31] Terry Silver turned Mike Barnes against them

[00:55:33] and he did that

[00:55:35] for Silver and then it was kind of through

[00:55:37] the conversation

[00:55:39] for a second it wasn't yeah

[00:55:41] it was a little ridiculous because

[00:55:43] they made it seem like Silver had

[00:55:45] arranged that because it was Silver

[00:55:47] and then he was like

[00:55:49] don't worry I've got it handled

[00:55:51] and then they show the limo

[00:55:53] and then Mike Barnes gets out

[00:55:55] and he's like

[00:55:57] he turned bad I kind of thought this might happen

[00:55:59] and then

[00:56:01] Daniel he's like you ruined my life

[00:56:03] my wife left me my businesses underwater

[00:56:05] and Daniel's like I didn't burn it down

[00:56:07] Terry did and that was enough for him

[00:56:09] what did he think Daniel burned down his place

[00:56:11] I thought he was mad because Daniel just came there

[00:56:13] and brought that all on to him

[00:56:15] and he was like

[00:56:17] he was maybe a valid thing to be mad at

[00:56:19] but as soon as Daniel said no it was Terry

[00:56:21] he's like well let's go kick Terry's ass then

[00:56:23] so it was a little silly but whatever

[00:56:25] yeah yeah well I did like

[00:56:27] he was on drugs

[00:56:29] I did like how Daniel was like I'll help make you whole

[00:56:31] you know that he offered to like

[00:56:33] I mean sounds like he may not need his help

[00:56:35] he's got a Rembrandt now

[00:56:37] of all the laws

[00:56:39] to be like worried about

[00:56:41] you were worried about kidnapping me

[00:56:43] and I just held this thing

[00:56:45] I mean

[00:56:47] this episode

[00:56:49] amped up the crazy with the chop

[00:56:51] finger and the kidnapping

[00:56:53] and the crease breaking out of jail

[00:56:55] it was pretty fun

[00:56:57] but the

[00:56:59] scene with Tori

[00:57:01] is just a direct

[00:57:03] reflection of Daniel

[00:57:05] being trained by Terry

[00:57:07] back in cryotica 3

[00:57:09] he made a similar like

[00:57:11] guy but it was hard

[00:57:13] wood not stone

[00:57:15] and then made him punch it until his

[00:57:17] hand bled

[00:57:19] and he didn't keep him there at that point

[00:57:21] but later when

[00:57:23] Daniel went to

[00:57:25] tell Terry he didn't want to train with him anymore

[00:57:27] and then Terry's like oh you're going to be

[00:57:29] you're going to be working for me whether you like it or not

[00:57:31] or whatever he said and then Daniel goes to leave and crease jumps out

[00:57:33] and so there

[00:57:35] they really kept him in there and then luckily

[00:57:37] Miyagi showed up to fight

[00:57:39] Terry Silver and

[00:57:41] crease

[00:57:43] but Tori didn't have anyone there for her

[00:57:45] and then Silver was being

[00:57:47] like super sinister

[00:57:49] where after she

[00:57:51] did that he and then he's like

[00:57:53] because she said to Sensei Kim

[00:57:55] as she's taunting her

[00:57:57] before she had broken the stone

[00:57:59] and you know saying that

[00:58:01] this boy is more important to you than this Dojo

[00:58:03] and she's like I broke up

[00:58:05] you know I broke up

[00:58:07] for this Dojo

[00:58:09] and then she broke the stone and Terry's like

[00:58:11] you know that was

[00:58:13] a hard decision but the right one

[00:58:15] let's hope that you keep making them

[00:58:17] like dude that's threatening

[00:58:19] I don't know it just bugged me

[00:58:21] I just thought that

[00:58:23] it was just a lot more threatening and sinister than what we normally see

[00:58:25] because a lot of the other stuff

[00:58:27] like you said with the whole Mike Martin thing

[00:58:29] I kidnapped them too but it was like

[00:58:31] you kind of let that go or whatever

[00:58:33] but to me she is a young woman

[00:58:35] 1617 I know in the show

[00:58:37] anyway 1617 years old

[00:58:39] and not letting her leave

[00:58:41] and essentially threatening her

[00:58:43] it made me feel really bad

[00:58:45] for Tori in that situation

[00:58:47] and she didn't have anyone there to bail her out

[00:58:49] she had to bail herself out

[00:58:51] yeah I mean it's scary

[00:58:53] she was trapped I didn't like it

[00:58:55] it was dumb too to make her bust up her hand before a big tournament

[00:58:57] well and that was interesting

[00:58:59] yeah it was

[00:59:01] it was dumb but I thought it was interesting

[00:59:03] and I gave a said we didn't get a definitive timeline

[00:59:05] I think we kind of speculated a little bit

[00:59:07] like well when is this tournament supposed to happen

[00:59:09] like was it you know when is it going to be

[00:59:11] the season or we're going to wait another season

[00:59:13] if it happens

[00:59:15] but Tori's like I'm going to break my hand

[00:59:17] and since Kim was like

[00:59:19] it'll heal before the tournament so it's what

[00:59:21] it's at least enough time for her to heal

[00:59:23] some broken bones I guess

[00:59:25] yeah that far out

[00:59:27] I mean sometimes injuries don't heal like they're supposed to either

[00:59:29] right right but my point is

[00:59:31] if she did break her bones

[00:59:33] it takes what six eight weeks

[00:59:35] for bones to

[00:59:37] typically heal so we know at least

[00:59:39] the tournament is probably beyond that point

[00:59:41] I was just more interested in learning like how far

[00:59:43] out is this tournament

[00:59:45] that's coming up

[00:59:47] that's a good question are the kids, what are they, seniors now?

[00:59:49] are they going to graduate?

[00:59:51] I feel like time's a bit of a construct

[00:59:53] with them in school right now

[00:59:55] we didn't see any school stuff at all

[00:59:57] but the way he felt about

[00:59:59] Tori, yeah totally

[01:00:01] everything you said and that's

[01:00:03] kind of how I felt

[01:00:05] about how Terry treated Daniel

[01:00:07] back in Karate Kid 3

[01:00:09] just terrorized this poor teenage kid

[01:00:11] and

[01:00:13] threatened to beat him up

[01:00:15] and had people come and beat him up

[01:00:17] and almost kill him and everything

[01:00:19] and so that's one reason

[01:00:21] why that scene in this episode

[01:00:23] where he beat him up was so glorious

[01:00:25] it's like you grow up

[01:00:27] and you beat up your abuser

[01:00:29] it's kind of a revenge fantasy

[01:00:31] yeah

[01:00:33] which makes it interesting

[01:00:35] I wonder if there is a next season

[01:00:37] if that could possibly happen between Tori and Kim

[01:00:41] there could be some kind of face off between the two of them

[01:00:43] next season they were fighting

[01:00:45] it was Tori and

[01:00:47] Sam

[01:00:49] and then Tori and Devin yeah

[01:00:51] versus her but they didn't really show all that much

[01:00:53] of it right I was kind of hoping for a little bit more

[01:00:55] no I think Devin comes in to relieve Sam

[01:00:57] so she can save Anthony

[01:00:59] and then you never see what happens

[01:01:01] in that fight

[01:01:03] right because then

[01:01:05] Kim killed him everything stopped

[01:01:07] Daniel walked in

[01:01:09] I don't think we saw her there

[01:01:11] and did we as everyone's kind of out in the parking lot

[01:01:13] and everyone's having their conversations

[01:01:15] and reunions and they arrest Terry Silver

[01:01:17] did we see since Kim anywhere

[01:01:19] I don't think we do

[01:01:21] so yeah I wonder what happened there

[01:01:23] when out the back

[01:01:25] the last time we see her

[01:01:27] the last time we see her

[01:01:29] I think is inside the dojo looking at disappointment

[01:01:31] with Terry Silver

[01:01:35] yeah she's like

[01:01:37] you want something done you gotta do it yourself

[01:01:41] okay I think it's Richard's turn

[01:01:45] you know the story

[01:01:47] the way it was written here I liked a lot of the switcheroo's

[01:01:49] that was going on you know

[01:01:51] we're so used to seeing the kids

[01:01:53] take the violence

[01:01:55] and go out and stir up some trouble and get into fights

[01:01:57] but this time it was the adults

[01:01:59] you know I'm blaming on the alcohol

[01:02:01] I guess but they were psyching themselves out

[01:02:03] they showed up ready to fight

[01:02:05] Johnny's like the bad boys right

[01:02:07] yeah

[01:02:09] but at the same time the kids this time

[01:02:11] they're taking the time to think of a way to

[01:02:13] get to Silver without fighting you know

[01:02:15] they are trying to find the evidence that they could use for prosecution

[01:02:17] and they were all talking

[01:02:19] like savvy about servers

[01:02:21] and how to post it on the air now

[01:02:23] I was lost at that point I didn't know

[01:02:25] I did what the hell they were talking about

[01:02:27] and then Silver you know he was in the

[01:02:29] just before he fought

[01:02:31] Daniel he was saying like

[01:02:33] there is no right or wrong

[01:02:35] only winners and losers

[01:02:37] Cobra Kai builds winners because we are willing to do

[01:02:39] whatever it takes and I'm like

[01:02:41] isn't that just what Miyagi-Do did

[01:02:43] yeah give him a little shout out for that

[01:02:45] they were doing whatever it took

[01:02:47] to take him down

[01:02:49] it was kind of fun to watch

[01:02:51] these little twists in the plot take place

[01:02:53] yeah

[01:02:55] the only thing you can

[01:02:57] you're right the adults are the ones getting into trouble

[01:02:59] and that's what happens when you're hyped up

[01:03:01] on whiskey and white cloth

[01:03:03] watch out for that white cloth man

[01:03:05] tastes like watermelon took a piss

[01:03:07] Riva can I tell you when he spit out

[01:03:09] white cloth and then took another sip

[01:03:11] I thought of you because I know you're a white-coll drinker

[01:03:13] I was like cool what's Riva going to think of this scene

[01:03:17] well

[01:03:19] I think

[01:03:21] I'm a little bit more partial I think

[01:03:23] to truly at least some flavors

[01:03:25] more than I know

[01:03:27] I do kind of agree with Johnny's assessment

[01:03:29] of white cloth

[01:03:31] who makes white cloth

[01:03:33] oh I don't know

[01:03:35] is it Budweiser

[01:03:37] it's like it's a big company

[01:03:39] it sounds badass though

[01:03:41] yeah

[01:03:43] what the hell is that I say

[01:03:45] anything with the word claw in it

[01:03:47] yeah

[01:03:51] okay who's turn is it now

[01:03:53] yours

[01:03:55] oh mine okay

[01:03:57] do you want callbacks and references

[01:03:59] or funny lines

[01:04:01] in situations

[01:04:03] both

[01:04:05] I gotta do one of the other

[01:04:07] alright there's probably a lot of callbacks

[01:04:09] oh no oh yeah

[01:04:11] alright I'll do callbacks so

[01:04:13] so Karnaman had the same question

[01:04:15] I did about the story of how Daniel

[01:04:17] exposed that Chosen was cheating

[01:04:19] in the market in Karate Kid 2

[01:04:21] so I went back and rewatched

[01:04:23] Daniel had just helped some old guy

[01:04:25] he dropped his carrots from his cart

[01:04:27] and Daniel's helping him pick him up

[01:04:29] and walk him to the market

[01:04:31] and the guy was selling his carrots

[01:04:33] to Chosen

[01:04:35] and Daniel fumbles and accidentally

[01:04:37] drops Chosen's weight and a piece of it

[01:04:39] and then he breaks it in half

[01:04:41] he's like what's this breaks in half

[01:04:43] to show Chosen was cheating

[01:04:45] but yeah if you're cheating with

[01:04:47] lighter weights

[01:04:49] with weights that are lighter than they look

[01:04:51] that would mean you're the seller not the buyer

[01:04:53] because a seller would want the weights to be lighter

[01:04:55] than they seem so they could put more weights on

[01:04:57] and make it seem like the carrots weigh more

[01:04:59] and they could charge more

[01:05:01] Chosen was the buyer in which case he would want the weights to be heavier

[01:05:03] than they looked so he could put less on

[01:05:05] and then pay less money

[01:05:07] and Chosen's like yeah that's not one of my smarter plans

[01:05:10] but I was thinking

[01:05:12] you know maybe Chosen was selling end buying

[01:05:14] you know that's what you do in a market

[01:05:16] and there were a bunch of vegetables on a

[01:05:18] cart behind him too

[01:05:20] so maybe that's maybe it wasn't

[01:05:22] really an error but I don't know for sure

[01:05:25] that's funny they went back and looked at that

[01:05:27] yeah because I had thought about that

[01:05:29] even you know since then

[01:05:31] but uh it was fun to see him

[01:05:33] laughing about water under the bridge

[01:05:35] remember that time I exposed you

[01:05:37] and shamed you

[01:05:39] yeah we're all laughing

[01:05:41] yeah

[01:05:43] dancing so dancing

[01:05:45] socially has always been

[01:05:47] a part of Karate Kid in every movie

[01:05:50] there was the first one the Country Club dance

[01:05:53] with Johnny and

[01:05:55] Allie and the Halloween dance of course

[01:05:58] where Daniel went as a shower

[01:06:01] in Karate Kid 2 Daniel

[01:06:03] Koumiko's a dancer he teaches her traditional

[01:06:05] dance and these kind of

[01:06:07] romantic scenes and then she performs at the end

[01:06:09] and also they go dancing they do like swing dance

[01:06:11] at some point I think

[01:06:13] and then in 3 Daniel and Jessica go out

[01:06:15] dancing and that's when

[01:06:17] Terry Silver paid some guy

[01:06:19] to hit on her so Daniel

[01:06:21] would punch him out

[01:06:23] and turn her off

[01:06:25] and Ralph Maccio was a contestant

[01:06:27] on Dancing with the Stars one season

[01:06:29] so of course I watched that whole season

[01:06:31] he was he made it pretty far yeah he was good

[01:06:33] oh wow he must be a dancer

[01:06:35] he doesn't have too bad of a singing voice

[01:06:37] either when they're all jamming

[01:06:39] to I the Tiger he actually

[01:06:41] I think had pitch yeah

[01:06:43] dude talk about wanting to be at the club dancing with him

[01:06:45] I so wanted to be in that limo

[01:06:47] singing I the Tiger

[01:06:49] I know

[01:06:51] yup the Tiger

[01:06:53] well that's my next thing they're partying it up

[01:06:55] in the limo singing I the Tiger

[01:06:57] that song of course was made famous

[01:06:59] in which movie

[01:07:01] Rocky 3

[01:07:03] with Club of Lang you know

[01:07:05] and um originally

[01:07:07] they were going to use a different song

[01:07:09] in Rocky 3 it was

[01:07:11] You're the Best by Joe Esposito

[01:07:13] that was supposed to be in Rocky 3

[01:07:15] but Sylvester Stallone

[01:07:17] didn't like it so it ended up being I the Tiger

[01:07:19] then they instead used You're the Best

[01:07:21] at the end

[01:07:23] of Karate Kid in the tournament

[01:07:25] You're the best around

[01:07:27] nothing's gonna ever keep you down

[01:07:29] I think it would have been cool had they been singing that song

[01:07:31] in the limo

[01:07:33] I kinda wonder if they're not saving

[01:07:35] that for the end because

[01:07:37] I really was expecting that song

[01:07:39] at the end of last season when they had the All

[01:07:41] Valley tournament and they had like two episodes

[01:07:43] of tournament you know so they

[01:07:45] didn't play it then so that makes me wonder

[01:07:47] if they're not saving it for like the end of the series

[01:07:49] or something that would be the

[01:07:51] best thing yeah

[01:07:53] but it was it was good and it was good to

[01:07:55] know that that song was originally meant

[01:07:57] for Rocky

[01:07:59] but it was

[01:08:01] used in Karate Kid instead and then they used

[01:08:03] a song from Rocky

[01:08:05] in Karate Kid

[01:08:07] I'm still waiting for

[01:08:09] the Jason Rima

[01:08:11] I think you guys know this Richard I don't think you do

[01:08:13] but I have a friend who is actually friends

[01:08:15] with Machio

[01:08:19] and Zabka because he had them both

[01:08:21] in a music video for a song he wrote called Sweet

[01:08:23] the Leg

[01:08:25] he had actually

[01:08:27] Martin Cove like the entire cast

[01:08:29] with the exception of Pat Merida in the music

[01:08:31] video for this song Sweet the Leg

[01:08:33] which is all about Johnny

[01:08:35] you know losing the tournament

[01:08:37] it was like in the early

[01:08:39] 2000s or something yeah yeah like I think

[01:08:41] like 2003-2004

[01:08:43] and he's kept in touch with them

[01:08:45] but and every time I talk to him

[01:08:47] I'm like is any chance Sweet the Leg is going to make it and go over

[01:08:49] Kai he's like no they haven't they haven't asked me

[01:08:51] I'm just waiting to hear that song

[01:08:53] exactly

[01:08:55] yet

[01:08:57] this one's maybe a

[01:08:59] bit of a stretch but it's quick so Terry

[01:09:01] Silver and

[01:09:03] Kim Dian see

[01:09:05] they're at Terry's place they're looking at a camera

[01:09:07] you know a screen and they see the limo

[01:09:09] barreling into the property and she goes

[01:09:11] ouch

[01:09:13] and that just reminded me in Karate Kid when

[01:09:15] Daniel was

[01:09:17] pissed off at all the chores he had

[01:09:19] to do and Miyagi showed up

[01:09:21] and he goes I'm not learning anything and then he

[01:09:23] showed him no you're learning how to block and everything

[01:09:25] and did all the moves and then

[01:09:27] Daniel bowed but he looked down

[01:09:29] and Miyagi bopped him in the head and

[01:09:31] goes ouch always look

[01:09:33] I

[01:09:35] just had that same sort of

[01:09:37] thing to it

[01:09:41] so Mike and Johnny

[01:09:43] and chosen show up at Silver's place

[01:09:45] and one of those sensei comes out

[01:09:47] and Mike's all ha classic Silver

[01:09:49] I mean why get your hands dirty when you can pay

[01:09:51] someone to do it for you well that's what he did

[01:09:53] with Mike he paid him to do his work for him

[01:09:57] Daniel well

[01:09:59] Daniel stranded in the middle of nowhere

[01:10:01] and Stingray rolls up

[01:10:03] in the Cobra Kai mobile

[01:10:05] and Mr. Lou so come with me if you want

[01:10:07] to live we already mentioned that that's

[01:10:09] term in here but I kind of wondered if

[01:10:11] this next one where Amanda says

[01:10:13] Daniel get in the car the kids are in

[01:10:15] trouble and Daniel's like the kids what

[01:10:17] what kind of trouble it felt like maybe a

[01:10:19] nod to back to the future

[01:10:21] you know it's your kids Marty

[01:10:23] it's got to be a stretch

[01:10:25] kids are assholes

[01:10:27] just get in the car

[01:10:29] I will say in regards to last week

[01:10:31] I did not pick up on the my cousin

[01:10:33] Vinny nod

[01:10:35] yeah until you mentioned that

[01:10:37] that was a big oh yeah

[01:10:39] moment when I was listening last week

[01:10:41] that was a cool one

[01:10:43] so that's all the callbacks

[01:10:45] okay I'll do

[01:10:47] funny lines so

[01:10:49] did anybody else get right down

[01:10:52] all the funny lines they thought of

[01:10:54] I wrote down a couple

[01:10:56] you go ahead so I don't do them all

[01:10:58] I loved when Dimitri called him Sensei Targaryen

[01:11:02] I didn't even catch that one point

[01:11:04] he calls Terry Silver Sensei Targaryen

[01:11:10] this one I wrote down purely because

[01:11:12] I was like

[01:11:14] I'm not in the mood for all that

[01:11:16] heartfelt shit

[01:11:18] it's almost new that Richard was watching

[01:11:20] he's not a fan of the teen drama

[01:11:24] I remember that

[01:11:26] that was good too

[01:11:28] true to her character

[01:11:30] and it was nice to see them back together

[01:11:32] yeah I only have two more

[01:11:34] and then you can go through yours

[01:11:36] when Johnny pulls up in the limo

[01:11:38] and sees Carmen

[01:11:40] and he's like you never looked better

[01:11:42] I don't mean that literally we need to get you to a doctor

[01:11:46] so cute

[01:11:48] and then when Mike Barnes brings

[01:11:50] chosen out of the limo and he's like it's just a flesh wound

[01:11:52] he's like yeah but it's like all your flesh

[01:11:54] that was hilarious and a nice little like Monty Python

[01:11:56] I knew he was gonna say

[01:11:58] it's just a flesh wound

[01:12:00] but immediately thought of Monty Python

[01:12:02] and then we get that maybe you should have had a short island iced tea

[01:12:04] that's all I have

[01:12:06] those long island iced teas

[01:12:08] yeah

[01:12:10] anybody else have any funny parts

[01:12:12] I thought it was pretty funny when Johnny

[01:12:14] was uh when they were arguing

[01:12:16] whether or not they should go to Silver's house

[01:12:18] and Johnny's like come on he kicked your ass

[01:12:20] he kicked my ass

[01:12:22] in my case it was a sucker punch

[01:12:24] he's still

[01:12:26] gotta qualify it

[01:12:28] gotta make sure it's still known

[01:12:30] when Mike came in

[01:12:32] and helped him with the last two guys

[01:12:34] and then they were all on the floor and Johnny's like I did

[01:12:36] that

[01:12:38] I did most of it

[01:12:40] he's like yeah he did

[01:12:42] I thought it was kind of

[01:12:44] it made me laugh out loud too right

[01:12:46] and the heat of the battle

[01:12:48] when all the kids were getting kind of

[01:12:50] squished you know and then Miguel yells out

[01:12:52] protect the egg

[01:12:54] luckily they were just taught

[01:12:56] an exercise that would fit perfectly

[01:12:58] I just struck me as a little bit corny

[01:13:00] I kinda like that though

[01:13:02] yeah this shows

[01:13:04] that

[01:13:06] the egg lesson in these episodes is basically the drum lesson

[01:13:08] from Karate Kid 2 it's like you know it's gonna come

[01:13:10] into play at some point

[01:13:12] yeah absolutely

[01:13:14] yeah it's great

[01:13:16] so did you have any more Arima

[01:13:18] funny ones

[01:13:20] nope

[01:13:22] so I had a few

[01:13:24] so Louis like

[01:13:26] you know cousin Louis

[01:13:28] hey Anoush we're going out we're gonna celebrate

[01:13:30] Johnny knocked up his girl

[01:13:32] and Louis brings

[01:13:34] shots and says

[01:13:36] to Johnny this stuff is strong

[01:13:38] it's almost like a kick to the face

[01:13:40] oh I missed that one

[01:13:42] casually reminds him of the worst moment of his life

[01:13:44] which confirmed later when Johnny tells Chosen

[01:13:46] my whole life was haunted by one stupid kick

[01:13:48] Chosen

[01:13:50] like doesn't want to drink ends up totally wasted

[01:13:54] which is funny and it channeled Miyagi a little bit too

[01:13:56] as Chosen does because we've seen

[01:13:58] Miyagi wasted a couple times

[01:14:00] Louis catches Anoush with his sister Vanessa

[01:14:02] who is Ralph Machio's real

[01:14:04] daughter in real life

[01:14:06] punches him the face and Daniel just like

[01:14:08] classic Louis

[01:14:10] yeah I know they didn't even try to break it up

[01:14:12] I know oh that Louis

[01:14:16] Chosen's bragging to the waitress

[01:14:18] about Daniel this man

[01:14:20] breaks six blocks of ice one strike

[01:14:22] you show

[01:14:24] and he goes I'm pretty sure they don't keep giant slabs

[01:14:26] of ice on hand

[01:14:28] Chosen's like what kind of bar is this

[01:14:32] no fun

[01:14:34] Mike wants to fight

[01:14:36] Terry and Johnny

[01:14:38] Johnny's like the bad boys right man

[01:14:40] Silver's been screwing us for too long

[01:14:42] and Daniel's like Chosen help me out here

[01:14:44] this is crazy he goes I know Silver's address

[01:14:48] you're out of your fucking minds

[01:14:50] then when Daniel calls

[01:14:52] Amanda I saw on her phone it said

[01:14:54] hubby-san on it

[01:14:56] yeah

[01:14:58] and then when Tori's

[01:15:00] the kids are at Cobra Kai

[01:15:02] Tori sees a camera on the wall

[01:15:04] and says to Robbie any idea how to

[01:15:06] disconnect one of these he goes yeah it jumps up and yanks it down

[01:15:08] steps on it

[01:15:10] and then I just thought the whole thing

[01:15:12] with Mitch was pretty great

[01:15:14] they're standing there

[01:15:16] Cobra Kai kids show up

[01:15:18] so they're facing off and Sam's like

[01:15:20] how did they even know we're here

[01:15:22] and Kyle's like Mitch come on

[01:15:24] get your ass over here where you belong

[01:15:26] and he unzips his jacket Cobra Kai shirt underneath

[01:15:28] I was like holy shit

[01:15:30] really because I thought that was one of the

[01:15:32] yeah I thought that was one of the most predictable things

[01:15:34] from these episodes

[01:15:36] no I had no clue but going back

[01:15:38] you see that he's

[01:15:40] so pissed off when they call him

[01:15:42] penis breath every time

[01:15:44] and also yeah we see him eating the Cobra Kai

[01:15:46] food at one point and one of the other kids

[01:15:48] but I just thought that was because he couldn't resist the food

[01:15:50] I didn't think he was a traitor

[01:15:52] and I like when he's like

[01:15:54] you know Bert's like penis breath how could you

[01:15:56] and he goes gee maybe because they don't call me penis breath

[01:15:58] and then just a couple seconds later

[01:16:00] Kyle is like alright penis breath shut up

[01:16:02] shut up penis breath

[01:16:04] and when all the kids were showing up

[01:16:06] to the Cobra Kai headquarters

[01:16:08] he was the one that was late

[01:16:10] kind of buying

[01:16:12] because he's the one that gave Cobra Kai the heads up

[01:16:14] that they were all going there

[01:16:16] and he showed up late and he was saying

[01:16:18] well it was middle of the night and he was wearing a Cobra Kai shirt

[01:16:20] and he was also

[01:16:22] the one questioning why

[01:16:24] they were there

[01:16:26] so that he could tell Cobra Kai

[01:16:28] oh yeah yeah yeah

[01:16:30] he was like well why are we here

[01:16:32] and he was the one that was trying to get the answer

[01:16:34] so he could tell Cobra Kai

[01:16:36] and what a bad timing

[01:16:38] I mean switches roll

[01:16:40] switches size right when they're defeated

[01:16:42] bad timing penis breath

[01:16:44] it's like

[01:16:46] alright

[01:16:48] let's move on to notes

[01:16:50] Ben

[01:16:52] we've covered a lot but I do have a couple

[01:16:56] the balls Robbie had walking into

[01:16:58] the belly of the beast

[01:17:00] I thought the same thing

[01:17:02] great

[01:17:04] I knew right away that's what he was doing

[01:17:06] but I mean like to give Tori

[01:17:08] and Nod like you know they're going to see that

[01:17:10] like that was a mistake on his part

[01:17:12] because that's what got her punished

[01:17:14] yeah

[01:17:16] and Kim saw their connection

[01:17:18] and then was later like there's weakness

[01:17:20] in you and all this

[01:17:22] chosen walking into the bar

[01:17:24] with the size of it

[01:17:26] I'm sorry there's one other sort of function

[01:17:28] of that scene

[01:17:30] and that was when Terry said

[01:17:32] just to show Robbie that he still had control

[01:17:34] even after what Robbie said

[01:17:36] he had them go through these exercises punch

[01:17:38] and stuff and then he said something about

[01:17:40] you know if another Cobra

[01:17:42] Miyagi student comes in here

[01:17:44] what are you going to do?

[01:17:46] show no mercy or what

[01:17:48] I got the words all fucked up

[01:17:50] but anyways just so he could show Robbie

[01:17:52] that they were all under his control

[01:17:54] so then that sort of reflected later

[01:17:56] after when he tries it later

[01:17:58] and it doesn't work

[01:18:00] and they're like no no dude

[01:18:02] I'm not saying the scene didn't have a meaning

[01:18:04] I'm just saying that

[01:18:06] mistake on Robbie's part

[01:18:08] it was a mistake on Robbie's part to give the nod to Tori

[01:18:10] because yeah that was kind of what got her in trouble

[01:18:12] I thought was a funny scene

[01:18:14] he's like what this is not a problem back home

[01:18:16] I don't understand

[01:18:18] I mean he's had these size

[01:18:20] since the first episode of the season

[01:18:22] so to finally see him get to be able

[01:18:24] to use them in the finale

[01:18:26] against Terry Silver was great

[01:18:28] he didn't poke anybody though

[01:18:30] he just blocked

[01:18:32] yeah exactly

[01:18:34] I mentioned you know Mitch being

[01:18:36] switching sides being cut to a traitor

[01:18:38] kind of being predictable but

[01:18:40] I don't know about the rest of you

[01:18:42] but the thing I found unpredictable to me

[01:18:44] was I legit thought Crease was killed

[01:18:48] yeah me too

[01:18:50] because I was so wrong

[01:18:52] and you guys were so right no one should ever trust Crease

[01:18:54] and like

[01:18:56] I was like yeah he's gonna be redeemed

[01:18:58] and then they had this heartfelt scene with him

[01:19:00] and his therapist so I'm like yep see

[01:19:02] she's encouraging him to turn over a new leaf

[01:19:04] but really he was taking that card

[01:19:06] faking cry to take the card out of her pocket

[01:19:08] pretty great

[01:19:10] I mean that episode kicked off with him getting shanked

[01:19:12] and I was like holy shit they just killed

[01:19:14] off Crease like okay

[01:19:16] I guess that's how they're gonna wrap up his story

[01:19:18] because it seemed already like

[01:19:20] they'd up the stakes

[01:19:22] or at least you know as we went through the

[01:19:24] episode but

[01:19:26] I also liked when

[01:19:28] the doctor says after he

[01:19:30] beats up everyone in the room except the doctor

[01:19:32] the doctor's like please I'm begging you and he's all

[01:19:34] for what Mercy?

[01:19:36] Well that was another note I have too

[01:19:38] is like as big of a guy Crease is

[01:19:40] and that doctor's not that big

[01:19:42] is he really fitting into those clothes to walk

[01:19:44] out of the prison?

[01:19:46] Those clothes would be a little small on him

[01:19:50] He just hulked out

[01:19:52] pretty much

[01:19:54] just three more quick ones

[01:19:56] I have the moment the ultrasound fell

[01:19:58] out the sonogram fell out

[01:20:00] and I heard I know the song

[01:20:02] it's running wild by a band called Airborne

[01:20:04] the moment that lick started I was like

[01:20:06] okay we're gonna get some badass Johnny right here

[01:20:10] Seeing Sam

[01:20:12] actually perform a takedown on Kim Dae-yeon

[01:20:14] was pretty badass on Sam's part

[01:20:18] and then the only other note I have too

[01:20:20] and this could be a little bit of a callback

[01:20:22] maybe not it depends on how you look at it

[01:20:24] when Johnny was fighting all those other guys

[01:20:26] and he threw the dude into the wall

[01:20:28] and the TV fell on him

[01:20:30] it made me think back to season one

[01:20:32] that was Johnny's job

[01:20:34] was mounting TVs

[01:20:36] he was like a handyman

[01:20:38] when he got fired from that job

[01:20:40] that lady pissed because

[01:20:42] he was putting the TV on the wrong wall

[01:20:44] it wasn't feng shui

[01:20:46] or whatever it was

[01:20:48] so when the TV fell on the dude I was like

[01:20:50] oh that's pretty funny because that's what he used to do

[01:20:52] Did Johnny install that TV?

[01:20:56] but that's all I have

[01:20:58] Cool

[01:21:00] The only note that I have

[01:21:02] that we haven't already talked about is

[01:21:04] all of this bragging about

[01:21:06] how state of the art Cobra Kai is

[01:21:08] but Terry Silver has really shitty wifi

[01:21:16] That's where he skimped

[01:21:18] That's true, that file

[01:21:20] couldn't have been more than just like

[01:21:22] 100 mags at most

[01:21:24] I don't know maybe a little bit more than that

[01:21:26] Gigabyte

[01:21:28] That's fun

[01:21:30] Just long enough in that fight

[01:21:32] My note is Miguel says all the right things

[01:21:34] I just realized this as we're going through all this

[01:21:36] He was on it man

[01:21:38] Sam was all out of sorts

[01:21:40] blaming Tori for everything

[01:21:42] Maybe dad didn't have to shut down the meow

[01:21:44] It's all based on a lie

[01:21:46] and then Miguel was there to help her put it in perspective

[01:21:48] which led Sam to actually

[01:21:50] go to Tori's house

[01:21:52] and kind of have them make a connection there

[01:21:54] seeing how her life is

[01:21:56] and everything

[01:21:58] and then at the end Miguel saying all the right things

[01:22:00] afterwards you know

[01:22:02] I know

[01:22:04] Man that dude is on it

[01:22:06] That's what happens when you have a nice team of writers behind you

[01:22:12] Wish I had that team following me

[01:22:14] Can I have that in real life please

[01:22:16] can someone please rewrite my life

[01:22:18] a little bit and give me those words

[01:22:20] Yeah he was saying all the nice things

[01:22:22] I love that when he's like

[01:22:24] I don't want to break up

[01:22:26] and he's like well you said you weren't okay

[01:22:28] and that just seemed more important

[01:22:30] and I'm like aww

[01:22:32] That's what you do when you love Sam Boy

[01:22:34] You love me? I love you too

[01:22:36] Good boy Miguel

[01:22:38] Nowadays they just stare at each other

[01:22:40] and be like uh

[01:22:42] They can't take their eyes off your phone

[01:22:44] Yeah they'd get out there from the text

[01:22:46] It was funny because we were wondering

[01:22:48] what was going to happen next

[01:22:50] because you were like yeah last week's episode

[01:22:52] I was like oh more teen drama but then

[01:22:54] Tori shows up and says Sam actually won the tournament

[01:22:56] and I was like back in again

[01:22:58] and then the first thing we see is

[01:23:00] it's a fight!

[01:23:02] Sam's like punching at her

[01:23:04] and then out of everything that Tori told her

[01:23:06] which we know was you know what

[01:23:08] Chris didn't beat up

[01:23:10] Stingray it was Terry and then he framed

[01:23:12] all she could take from that was

[01:23:14] she's been working with Chris this whole time

[01:23:16] God you're annoying sometimes

[01:23:18] Yeah Sam definitely has her moments

[01:23:20] and it was interesting this time to see

[01:23:22] the girls fighting

[01:23:24] where it's always like the boys

[01:23:26] especially like Robbie and Miguel and these two

[01:23:28] they're on good terms and they're the ones

[01:23:30] that run out try to like break them up

[01:23:32] and calm them down

[01:23:34] so I thought that was a nice little turn

[01:23:36] than what we've seen in

[01:23:38] previous seasons

[01:23:40] Alright

[01:23:42] Kenny and Robbie

[01:23:44] even after Kobra Kai's disgraced

[01:23:46] and Kenny throws away his Kobra Kai shirt

[01:23:48] he's still like

[01:23:50] Robbie's like okay how about now

[01:23:52] listen K, no just not right now

[01:23:54] I'm like man you need to give up on this kid

[01:23:56] I don't know maybe

[01:23:58] he just needs a little more time

[01:24:00] Bye

[01:24:02] Bye

[01:24:04] I like that Hawk pointed out that

[01:24:06] Kyler is still pulling the same old bully act

[01:24:08] as always just kind of like how we were saying

[01:24:10] about Kyler like he's the one guy that never changes

[01:24:12] He's shown no growth

[01:24:14] He was even doing that to the cops

[01:24:16] I was the one, oh it's spelled K-Y-L-E-R

[01:24:20] I kind of admire it

[01:24:22] It's funny that he's just

[01:24:24] consistent douche

[01:24:26] Someone's gotta be

[01:24:28] Yeah

[01:24:30] Yeah I had a note about what

[01:24:32] was next but I think we've already talked about that

[01:24:34] I think Kim Dian is going to be the

[01:24:36] villain and maybe

[01:24:38] Sakae, Taikae will be the final

[01:24:40] final thing

[01:24:42] Who do you think from the current

[01:24:44] Cobra Kai could come over

[01:24:46] and join them

[01:24:48] if they fight in the Sakae, Taikae

[01:24:50] Do you think Kenny could come over

[01:24:52] or do you think Kyler could come over

[01:24:54] Kyler definitely, you mean be on the bad guy side?

[01:24:56] No I mean be actually switch sides to the good side

[01:24:58] Oh everybody's on the good side now

[01:25:00] Tori is, everybody is except for those two

[01:25:02] But I mean like do you think Kenny

[01:25:04] could be redeemed now and be brought over

[01:25:06] to the team

[01:25:08] I can see him coming over

[01:25:10] This guy makes up with Robbie, sure

[01:25:12] He's a great kid when we first met him

[01:25:14] Yeah he was a sweet kid

[01:25:16] I could definitely see Devin

[01:25:18] coming over

[01:25:20] I still think that Kreese

[01:25:22] by the end of this will

[01:25:24] turn over a new leaf

[01:25:26] but now I'm a little

[01:25:28] shakier in that prediction

[01:25:30] No he's getting pretty old

[01:25:32] I mean I feel like

[01:25:34] they should probably just do one more season

[01:25:36] and give it a good wrap up

[01:25:38] Right

[01:25:40] But that made me

[01:25:42] laugh last episode of the podcast

[01:25:44] too when you guys were talking about how they had

[01:25:46] the younger Kreese in the jail

[01:25:48] fight and you were like

[01:25:50] well it makes sense because of what they were doing

[01:25:52] with the story and I was like no it's basically

[01:25:54] because Martin Cove can't move like that anymore

[01:25:56] Can't do those moves

[01:25:58] No that's what we were saying

[01:26:00] We were saying younger Kreese

[01:26:02] when they were fighting

[01:26:04] with the guy who started

[01:26:06] the Cobra Kai teachings

[01:26:08] because

[01:26:10] in Okinawa or wherever it was

[01:26:12] because we knew that

[01:26:14] Martin Cove's were like son too right

[01:26:16] Oh is it? I didn't know that

[01:26:18] but it's only four years after that

[01:26:20] that we meet them in Karate Kid

[01:26:22] I have to look, I think that's actually his son

[01:26:26] It do look a little bit alike

[01:26:28] He's more charismatic than his dad

[01:26:32] likeable

[01:26:34] Just kidding Martin if you're listening to this

[01:26:36] Okay, anything else?

[01:26:38] Nope

[01:26:40] Alright, good. We'll take a little break

[01:26:42] There is more to come, stay with us

[01:26:44] What I know is that's me

[01:26:46] You look like a happy bird

[01:26:48] No fun at your life

[01:26:50] Watch out here

[01:26:52] You spin me right round

[01:26:54] Bid the baby right round round round

[01:27:00] You spin me right round

[01:27:02] Baby right round

[01:27:04] Like a red and baby right round

[01:27:06] Alright, we're back. It's time for some news

[01:27:13] A couple things this week

[01:27:15] First from Screen Rant

[01:27:17] So I know everyone wants to know about Season 6

[01:27:21] Still no official word

[01:27:25] I'm not too worried though

[01:27:27] I think we probably will

[01:27:29] But they are reporting

[01:27:31] Well, maybe speculating a little bit

[01:27:33] And also reporting

[01:27:35] Because Screen Rant is saying that

[01:27:37] If Cobra Kai is renewed for Season 6

[01:27:41] That it most likely will be delayed

[01:27:43] And that is because the show's co-creators

[01:27:45] Josh Held, John Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg

[01:27:47] Are involved in several other projects

[01:27:49] Such as a Ferris Bueller's Day Off spin-off movie

[01:27:55] And I guess this is more uncharacteristic for them

[01:27:58] That they're so busy

[01:28:00] That this creative team has kind of taken them away

[01:28:02] From the focus of Cobra Kai

[01:28:04] So there's concern I guess

[01:28:06] And maybe potential that it could be delayed

[01:28:08] A little longer

[01:28:10] Also about getting the actors

[01:28:12] If there is a delay

[01:28:14] And concern about getting all of the actors back together

[01:28:17] You know, scheduling conflicts

[01:28:19] Everybody's doing other things

[01:28:20] Getting other jobs, whatever

[01:28:22] However, there was a little interview

[01:28:27] With Ralph Maccio

[01:28:30] Where he talked about it

[01:28:32] And he said

[01:28:34] It hasn't officially been picked up

[01:28:36] I need to say that because that is the truth

[01:28:38] But we're feeling pretty good

[01:28:40] That we'll get to continue the show

[01:28:42] And we'll see what it needs to

[01:28:44] These guys, John and Josh and Hayden

[01:28:46] Who write the show are just so great

[01:28:48] At having their finger on the pulse of what the fans want

[01:28:50] They're the fans themselves

[01:28:52] There's more meat on the bones there

[01:28:54] But it's got to be entertaining and organic

[01:28:56] And I think there's plenty of places to go every season

[01:28:58] Whether you bring in Tamlin, Tamida as Kumako

[01:29:01] Elizabeth Shueh in Season 3

[01:29:03] You also have Thomas Ian Griffith

[01:29:05] What a great job he's doing

[01:29:07] Cridicate 3 was never ever my favorite

[01:29:09] Of those three movies

[01:29:10] Great fruit and storytelling and refined versions of characters

[01:29:14] So that was his thoughts on Season 6

[01:29:17] But nothing official

[01:29:19] I think they have some other series too

[01:29:23] That they're doing right now

[01:29:25] Not just the movie, but another series

[01:29:27] Yeah, there could be more

[01:29:28] I didn't list all of it

[01:29:29] But yeah, they just made it kind of sound like

[01:29:31] They're all kind of busy

[01:29:33] Where I think they've mostly been focused on

[01:29:35] Cobra Kai

[01:29:36] That's probably allowed them to churn out

[01:29:38] The seasons

[01:29:40] Yeah, I'm okay with it

[01:29:42] I mean, if it can come back

[01:29:44] And they can get the people that they need back

[01:29:46] I wouldn't be too mad

[01:29:48] If they took a little bit longer of a break this time

[01:29:51] And re-charge the old batteries and stuff

[01:29:54] Yeah

[01:29:55] There was quite a big pause there

[01:29:57] After the pandemic too between seasons

[01:30:00] Well, Season 4 was like nine months ago

[01:30:03] Right?

[01:30:05] Something like that

[01:30:06] That was in December

[01:30:07] And then we got this back in like

[01:30:09] So it's actually shorter than usual

[01:30:11] This in between, yes

[01:30:14] But before that I think there was a little bit of a

[01:30:16] There was a bit of a morbid gap

[01:30:18] A couple years maybe

[01:30:19] That's true, Rich, sorry

[01:30:20] You're right

[01:30:21] Apparently, looking at it now

[01:30:23] Apparently John Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg

[01:30:26] Are working on the next installment

[01:30:28] Of the American Pie movies

[01:30:30] Oh wow

[01:30:31] Yeah

[01:30:33] I'm intrigued with this

[01:30:34] Ferris Bealer's Day Off, spin-off

[01:30:36] I am too

[01:30:37] That was a great movie

[01:30:39] You know what it is, right?

[01:30:40] It's the valet drivers that took Cameron's dad's car

[01:30:46] And we're gonna see what they did with it

[01:30:48] So I'm like, I don't really care per se

[01:30:51] About those characters

[01:30:52] But I'm interested to see what these writers

[01:30:54] Is that what it is?

[01:30:55] We're gonna see what the joy ride was?

[01:30:56] I think so, yeah

[01:30:57] That's what I read too, yeah

[01:31:00] That intrigues me

[01:31:02] Why not?

[01:31:04] I wonder if they'll just like, you know

[01:31:06] See, sort of use movie magic to have

[01:31:09] Matthew Broderick in the background sometimes

[01:31:11] Or something

[01:31:12] Right, dancing on the float

[01:31:13] Or something

[01:31:14] They'll get stopped by a parade

[01:31:15] Yeah, exactly

[01:31:18] Anything else?

[01:31:19] Yeah, just another quick one

[01:31:21] So this will make everyone happy

[01:31:23] I'm sure you especially, Jason

[01:31:25] You've probably already had it on pre-order

[01:31:27] But actor Ralph Maccio

[01:31:29] Is releasing a new book called Waxing on the Karate Kid and Me

[01:31:34] On October the 18th

[01:31:37] So it's awesome, yeah

[01:31:39] Yeah, I bet it'll be great

[01:31:40] So it's his first memoir

[01:31:44] He does talk a little bit about it

[01:31:46] You know, kind of talking about

[01:31:47] I guess it's talking about

[01:31:49] The Karate Kid legacy of life

[01:31:51] Keeping it alive for more than 35 years

[01:31:53] It goes into his life before, during

[01:31:55] And after the making of

[01:31:57] The iconic film including how that legacy

[01:32:00] Has continued with Cobra Kai

[01:32:04] The book will be Ralph Maccio's

[01:32:06] Celebratory reflection on the legacy of the Karate Kid

[01:32:08] In film, pop culture and his own life

[01:32:10] It will be a comprehensive look at a film

[01:32:12] That shaped him as much as it influenced the world

[01:32:15] Maccio will share an insider's perspective

[01:32:17] Of the untold story behind a starring role

[01:32:19] The innocence of the early days

[01:32:21] The audition process

[01:32:22] The filmmaking experience

[01:32:23] As well as take readers through the birth

[01:32:25] Of some of the film's most iconic moments

[01:32:29] Cool

[01:32:30] I just looked it up too when he narrates the audio book

[01:32:33] Yeah, that's cool

[01:32:34] Yeah

[01:32:35] I mean, yeah, I'll probably listen to it

[01:32:37] Yeah

[01:32:38] And I didn't write this down

[01:32:40] But I saw it while I was just looking up news

[01:32:42] I did see that so far

[01:32:45] Hillary Swank has not been asked

[01:32:48] To be on Cobra Kai now

[01:32:50] Of course you can't really say

[01:32:52] One way or another if someone asked you

[01:32:54] But that was her official

[01:32:56] I haven't been asked to be on Cobra Kai

[01:32:58] Well, there might also be a good reason for that

[01:33:00] Because there was some Hillary Swank news

[01:33:02] That just broke today

[01:33:03] Yeah, she's pregnant with twins

[01:33:05] Yep

[01:33:06] For the first time

[01:33:07] She's 48

[01:33:08] Yep

[01:33:09] Yeah, 48

[01:33:10] And pregnant with twins

[01:33:11] Her first babies

[01:33:14] So, yeah

[01:33:15] That could be a good reason why she went into it

[01:33:20] I don't know

[01:33:21] So

[01:33:22] He's retired

[01:33:24] From karate

[01:33:25] Yeah

[01:33:26] She could play a parent of a kid in the Senpai

[01:33:28] In the tournament

[01:33:29] She doesn't have to fight

[01:33:31] She could, you know

[01:33:34] I would not care

[01:33:36] If they decided not to bring her back

[01:33:38] I know that Nathan Eshelman isn't happy

[01:33:40] About me saying that

[01:33:41] Because he likes the next karate kid

[01:33:43] But actually I need to go back and rewatch it again

[01:33:45] See if...

[01:33:47] Yeah, it's hard to conceive

[01:33:48] Of how they would work her in

[01:33:49] Yeah, since she didn't know Daniel

[01:33:51] At all

[01:33:52] Right

[01:33:53] As long as sometime during the tournament

[01:33:55] We don't see

[01:33:57] With Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan

[01:33:59] Yeah

[01:34:02] Jaden Smith

[01:34:03] Jackie Chan

[01:34:04] I wouldn't mind to see Jackie Chan

[01:34:06] As a sensei in the tournament

[01:34:07] Jackie Chan

[01:34:08] I all respect

[01:34:11] We get a blooper reel at the end of the movie

[01:34:13] With all his bad stunts

[01:34:16] And breaking a leg or something

[01:34:19] Alright, let's get in some listener feedback

[01:34:21] Ben, we didn't have a whole lot

[01:34:23] We had some calls though

[01:34:24] Ben

[01:34:25] Sure

[01:34:26] First one comes from Nathan Eshelman

[01:34:28] As you mentioned

[01:34:29] Feels like the show is gearing up

[01:34:30] For an epic final season

[01:34:32] If that's the case

[01:34:33] Are there many more cameos

[01:34:35] Or callbacks to the karate kid films

[01:34:36] You would like to see that they haven't shown yet

[01:34:38] They've been pretty thorough

[01:34:40] But I'm still holding out hope

[01:34:42] For a Hillary Swank appearance

[01:34:44] Even if the next karate kid

[01:34:46] Wasn't everyone's cup of key

[01:34:47] It's still a part of the Miyagi legacy

[01:34:50] Maybe she could have some news about Miyagi

[01:34:52] Or some information about Miyagi

[01:34:54] Or something like that

[01:34:55] Maybe

[01:34:56] No one knows

[01:34:58] Kelly Burgess says

[01:34:59] I really loved these last couple episodes

[01:35:01] The season as a whole

[01:35:02] Kind of felt like they were losing their touch

[01:35:04] For a bit

[01:35:05] But then I feel like they nailed the finale

[01:35:07] I was actually worried about several characters in it

[01:35:09] Didn't think I could fear for Johnny's life

[01:35:11] Like that

[01:35:13] Yep

[01:35:14] There's no

[01:35:15] No person who could get

[01:35:17] Severely beaten the way Johnny did

[01:35:19] And be walking around

[01:35:21] They were just punching him in the face

[01:35:23] Yeah

[01:35:24] He's like a piece of iron

[01:35:25] It takes a lot of karate punches

[01:35:27] To take someone down in this show

[01:35:29] Yep

[01:35:31] Alright, let's hear what Mike Karuso

[01:35:33] Who

[01:35:34] He recorded all his messages

[01:35:36] As he binged

[01:35:37] And sent them all in early on

[01:35:39] And we've been playing them as we go

[01:35:40] I think that was really cool and fun

[01:35:41] That is awesome

[01:35:42] So here's his last one

[01:35:43] Brilliant

[01:35:44] Hey Jason Rieman Richard

[01:35:46] It's Mike from Cincinnati again

[01:35:48] And I just finished season 5 of Cobra Kai

[01:35:51] Very sad

[01:35:52] But I really really enjoyed it

[01:35:54] I enjoyed the last couple of episodes

[01:35:56] And again for me

[01:35:58] One of the things

[01:36:00] There's a lot I could talk about

[01:36:01] I'm just going to talk about

[01:36:02] One of the things that I really stood out

[01:36:04] Was again the pairings

[01:36:06] Or the groupings

[01:36:07] Of characters from the

[01:36:09] Three major movies

[01:36:12] You had an episode 9

[01:36:13] You've got Daniel, Johnny

[01:36:15] And chosen all group together

[01:36:17] Getting drunk

[01:36:18] Going out with some of their honeys

[01:36:20] And having a good time

[01:36:21] And you even had that moment there

[01:36:23] Where you had Johnny

[01:36:25] And chosen kind of

[01:36:26] Hang back and have like

[01:36:27] A little heart to heart

[01:36:28] So you've got like the main fighting

[01:36:30] Villains from the first two movies

[01:36:32] Like pairing up again

[01:36:34] Like I think we had that in a previous episode too

[01:36:37] And then you know

[01:36:39] You've got an episode 10

[01:36:40] You've got the Mike Barnes Confrontation

[01:36:42] And for a minute there

[01:36:43] You've got Johnny chosen

[01:36:45] Versus Mike Barnes

[01:36:47] So like the three fighting villains

[01:36:49] From the three major films

[01:36:51] Or like the three primary fighting antagonists

[01:36:54] Fighting

[01:36:56] You know that's kind of cool I think

[01:36:58] And then you've got you know

[01:37:00] The three of them all grouping together

[01:37:02] Johnny chosen and Mike Barnes

[01:37:04] To go and confront Terry Silver

[01:37:06] So like the three fighting antagonists

[01:37:09] From the three movies going to

[01:37:11] Confront the primary antagonist

[01:37:14] I would say from the third movie

[01:37:17] And then you know of course

[01:37:19] At the end you've got chosen

[01:37:21] Fighting Terry Silver directly

[01:37:23] You know out there in the swimming pool

[01:37:26] So like the only thing you're really missing there

[01:37:29] Is like Chris throwing Chris in the mix

[01:37:31] And Mike parents him up with everybody

[01:37:33] So that was just really cool

[01:37:34] So yeah so that's like the end of the season

[01:37:36] Is there going to be a season six

[01:37:39] I mean they tied up a lot of loose threads

[01:37:41] There at the end but like the two that stand out

[01:37:44] Are Chris obviously right there at the end

[01:37:47] And the global tournament

[01:37:49] It kind of feels like you know

[01:37:51] They could go on another season

[01:37:53] But I don't know like man that really felt final

[01:37:56] So I'll be curious to see if they announce

[01:37:58] Season six it's Sunday after

[01:38:00] The Friday release of season five

[01:38:02] Right now as I record this

[01:38:04] So I'd be curious to see if maybe this week

[01:38:06] While it's like in the headlines

[01:38:08] That they announce season six

[01:38:10] So sorry this one was a little on the longer side

[01:38:12] But I'm going to miss Cobra Kai

[01:38:14] I can't not wait to listen to what you guys

[01:38:16] Had to say about the finale

[01:38:18] And look forward to the next season

[01:38:20] Bye guys

[01:38:22] Truth gonna miss Cobra Kai

[01:38:24] Yeah maybe they could just do

[01:38:26] Like a two hour movie to wrap it up

[01:38:28] Without being an option

[01:38:30] You know wrap that up

[01:38:32] I'd be fine with that a lot of series

[01:38:35] And things are doing stuff like that today

[01:38:37] Wrapping it up with a movie

[01:38:39] Well that's that one because I mean

[01:38:41] That is my legit worry is that if it is

[01:38:43] The tournament this international tournament

[01:38:45] How do you stretch that to ten episodes

[01:38:47] So doing a shorter season

[01:38:49] Or a movie would actually probably be a good idea

[01:38:52] Yeah and how would they drum up

[01:38:54] Enough drama I guess for another season

[01:38:56] Because it feels like they've wrapped up a lot

[01:38:58] Who else besides Chris and this new sensei

[01:39:01] Can they make a whole season out of that

[01:39:04] Unless this tournament is like

[01:39:07] A multi event multi day kind of thing

[01:39:10] Like the Olympics of karate

[01:39:13] Like how do you stretch it out

[01:39:16] Maybe they'll find out it's like you said

[01:39:19] A death match and like half the kids

[01:39:22] Will get killed and then they'll have to go on

[01:39:25] A mission to

[01:39:27] Get a body bag

[01:39:28] Especially considering the point you made before

[01:39:31] That Terry Silver basically made the all valley

[01:39:35] Worthless

[01:39:37] Kinda

[01:39:39] Alright here's a call from Steve Brown

[01:39:43] It's a bit longer than normal which is pretty interesting

[01:39:46] Let's hear what he's got to say

[01:39:48] Hello CKC this is Steve and this is going to be

[01:39:51] Four episodes nine and ten I hope I get him in in time

[01:39:54] Oh literally picking up right where we left off

[01:39:57] But there's Salmon Tori and wow

[01:40:01] Our kid is a human right?

[01:40:03] This one's called survivors I hope we get a survivor song somewhere in this episode

[01:40:06] Would Terry Silver even know that they're at the hospital

[01:40:09] To even have this conversation

[01:40:12] Oh this is just dumb

[01:40:14] That's right he blew up Johnny's car

[01:40:17] I totally forgot about that

[01:40:19] Did Dimitri just call Chris sensei Targaryen

[01:40:23] Because of his white hair that's great

[01:40:26] Okay Robbie trying to appeal to the good in them

[01:40:29] It's not going to work though

[01:40:31] I don't think Tori said the no mercy sir thing

[01:40:34] Chozen's cut size in his coat

[01:40:36] I love it you can pick him up when you leave though

[01:40:38] Stingray leading a Dungeons and Dragons party

[01:40:41] I think that's what he's doing

[01:40:43] Yep I was right

[01:40:44] Oh Stingray just said the name of their dojo

[01:40:46] Miyagi Fang

[01:40:47] I was wondering that from Karate Kid too

[01:40:49] With the whole weights thing because it didn't seem like it was correct

[01:40:52] Wow Johnny being introspective

[01:40:54] And Chozen too

[01:40:56] Wow it's alright Chozen I'm a bachelor too

[01:40:58] It's okay

[01:40:59] This is just wrong Tori don't do this

[01:41:01] Don't break your hand for them

[01:41:03] If you all realize that if Stingray admits to you that he lied on the stand

[01:41:05] That's like a felony

[01:41:07] I'm really kind of surprised that Terry thinks that this guy

[01:41:10] Is going to be able to stay quiet

[01:41:12] I mean he has stayed quiet but still it just surprised me

[01:41:15] Oh man well I'm choking up over this cho- with Chozen and Kumiko

[01:41:18] Aw

[01:41:19] Oh his date is the female karate instructor from Koma Kai's

[01:41:22] No it's not

[01:41:23] Oh no what is this

[01:41:25] The guy and gluey sister

[01:41:27] Oh and Chozen with the drunken dial to the X

[01:41:31] To the girl he likes

[01:41:33] No idea what Uber Black is

[01:41:35] But I'm sure the women going home by themselves

[01:41:38] That's not gonna be good

[01:41:39] Survivor song

[01:41:41] I have a tiger

[01:41:42] Oh I just know this is gonna go bad

[01:41:44] I'm glad I get to go right into episode 10

[01:41:46] Of course they leave us hanging on the crash

[01:41:48] By bringing us to Kreese

[01:41:49] Which I'm okay with but dang

[01:41:51] He just shivs

[01:41:53] Kreese

[01:41:54] This got me some sort of plan to escape right

[01:41:56] Oh my barn's driving the limo

[01:41:59] They keep reminding us that his nickname was the bad boy of karate

[01:42:02] I know I'm going long but this feels like this is heading towards an ending

[01:42:06] Like an ending ending

[01:42:07] I don't think you guys thought this well

[01:42:09] He's got a whole crew behind him

[01:42:11] And now you're faced with what

[01:42:13] Four on two, eight on two, whatever it is

[01:42:16] Love Sam

[01:42:17] Well she's with us for at least what we're about to do tonight

[01:42:20] I got sucked in

[01:42:21] It's probably not the end

[01:42:23] The whole I'm waking wrong

[01:42:24] And there's a camera behind them as they're working at the computer

[01:42:27] And now Johnny is fighting at Silver's house

[01:42:30] And stingray to the rescue

[01:42:33] Wow

[01:42:34] Dang so we do have a big karate dojo fight

[01:42:38] At Kruppakai

[01:42:39] A fight between Chosen and Silver

[01:42:41] This is gonna be good

[01:42:42] Oh no

[01:42:43] Sword against size

[01:42:45] Was that the death strike on Chosen?

[01:42:48] This fight is just massive

[01:42:50] And it's gonna come down to white clip

[01:42:52] Dimitri Load up to YouTube

[01:42:54] I love the protect the egg

[01:42:57] Exercise training comes back

[01:43:00] Oh stingray becoming the warrior

[01:43:02] The video is uploaded

[01:43:04] And Silver is making his speech

[01:43:06] And I have no idea where this is going

[01:43:08] And gosh man

[01:43:10] Great writing

[01:43:11] Oh and Johnny sees the picture of the baby

[01:43:14] And now he's going off

[01:43:16] Oh and it's Mike Barnes the rescue

[01:43:18] Oh dang Daniel against Silver

[01:43:20] Oh and Daniel using the quick silver method against him

[01:43:25] And using the crane to beat him

[01:43:27] Okay and now the aftermath really feels like an ending

[01:43:30] Okay we need to get you to a doctor

[01:43:33] I love it

[01:43:34] What and Chosen is alive

[01:43:37] Wow

[01:43:38] Okay so Crease's attack was a tip to escape

[01:43:42] Alright on to next season

[01:43:45] That's so funny you just deep figured it out

[01:43:48] He's a good play by playman

[01:43:51] He's the killer guy

[01:43:53] The live steavings are always classic

[01:43:56] So we have one more caller

[01:44:00] And he didn't say his name but here's his call

[01:44:03] Hi guys

[01:44:05] This song is for Cobra Kai season 5

[01:44:09] Let's go

[01:44:12] It up season 4

[01:44:36] Silver won

[01:44:40] Cobra Kai beat Wally

[01:44:45] Oh and Silver got his wish

[01:44:51] What's next?

[01:44:53] He'll conquer the world

[01:44:55] Cobra Kai is going global

[01:44:59] Here be dojo

[01:45:01] Sucks now

[01:45:04] Miyagi-do is done for today

[01:45:08] Terry Silver's going to jail

[01:45:12] And no one else

[01:45:17] Crease broke out of jail

[01:45:19] And now he's a running fugitive

[01:45:25] Awesome thanks guys that's all I got man

[01:45:28] And episode 10 was awesome

[01:45:31] It was my favorite episode of the series guys

[01:45:35] See ya love you guys bye

[01:45:39] Wow that was so good

[01:45:44] That was something else man

[01:45:47] There was some thought put into that

[01:45:49] And I appreciate it

[01:45:51] I always appreciate it

[01:45:53] Everyone should always sing their comments

[01:45:55] From now on

[01:45:57] We could have opera episode

[01:46:00] Cobra Kai the musical

[01:46:03] Thanks everybody

[01:46:12] Alright that is our show

[01:46:22] Thanks for having me

[01:46:23] Glad that the show is still cranking out

[01:46:27] Some great entertainment

[01:46:29] And it hasn't really I didn't

[01:46:31] I thought this season was

[01:46:33] Was really good overall

[01:46:34] Right?

[01:46:35] Yeah overall

[01:46:36] I thought it was worth 100% on rotten tomatoes

[01:46:39] Right

[01:46:42] So that's it for the season

[01:46:43] I mean I presume if the show comes back

[01:47:10] Maybe She-Hulk you might find interesting

[01:47:12] Covering that right now

[01:47:14] That's been a fun show

[01:47:15] I don't know what else

[01:47:17] I mean I like all the shows

[01:47:19] From Handmaid's Tale to Cobra Kai

[01:47:21] I don't know if you were gearing more towards

[01:47:23] Lighter Fair like Cobra Kai and She-Hulk

[01:47:26] Or go on the opposite spectrum

[01:47:28] We did Ashford's Evil Ted a while back

[01:47:30] That was the closest thing to Cobra Kai

[01:47:32] As far as just being so fun

[01:47:35] Kind of adult

[01:47:37] Are you gonna cover the Ferris Bueller

[01:47:39] Spent off when it comes out?

[01:47:40] Oh maybe we'll do that

[01:47:41] Yeah it's just gonna be a movie

[01:47:42] So that might be fun

[01:47:43] Do a quick episode on that

[01:47:45] Yeah yeah yeah

[01:47:46] That's a good idea

[01:47:47] Well thanks everybody

[01:47:48] That is it

[01:47:49] That is our show

[01:47:50] Thanks for listening

[01:47:52] It's White Claw Time

[01:47:57] Okay bye
