[00:00:00] Mark Setabaya, the Independent.

[00:00:13] Grads all the new gig.

[00:00:17] Thank you.

[00:00:18] What do you got for?

[00:00:19] Do you have any response to the comments made earlier today by your former assistant coach

[00:00:22] Nathan Shelley?

[00:00:24] Yes, I do.

[00:00:26] Yeah.

[00:00:27] I thought it was hilarious.

[00:00:32] I mean, he came and got it, didn't he?

[00:00:36] No doubt about that.

[00:00:37] Hey, but that's not great for you.

[00:00:39] You know, he's the same way on the pitch.

[00:00:40] You know, we'll find a tidying it's a little weakness in the team and just want to attack

[00:00:44] that.

[00:00:45] I mean, he's a junkyard dog, man.

[00:00:48] Hands more.

[00:00:49] The real luck I have over there in West Ham.

[00:00:51] I wish him the best of luck.

[00:00:55] I guess I'm a little surprised that's all you can come up with, especially against me.

[00:01:01] You know, not one joke about me being a dumb American.

[00:01:04] Come on, man.

[00:01:05] Sitting there.

[00:01:06] I mean, I'm so dumb.

[00:01:09] Y'all supposed to say, how dumb are you?

[00:01:14] Garrett?

[00:01:15] Why?

[00:01:16] Well, I mean, it's just classic joke structure.

[00:01:19] Give it a shot.

[00:01:20] I mean, I'm so dumb.

[00:01:21] Lloyd?

[00:01:22] How dumb are you?

[00:01:25] OK.

[00:01:26] Well, I'm so dumb that the first time I heard y'all talking about Yorkshire putting up

[00:01:29] those fancy words y'all had for dog poop.

[00:01:31] Yeah.

[00:01:32] I mean, I'm so dumb.

[00:01:34] How dumb is this?

[00:01:36] Yeah.

[00:01:37] Well, you know, whenever I text someone over here about money, I still spell pounds LBS.

[00:01:43] Look, man, I'm not a great coach.

[00:01:47] Probably ain't.

[00:01:48] You know, I'm doing this sport now for three years and I still get a shuffle every time

[00:01:51] someone talks about a handball violation.

[00:01:55] And not one crack about my appearance, about this mustache?

[00:01:59] I look like Ned Flanders is doing cosplay as Ned Flanders.

[00:02:02] When I talk it sounds like Dr. Phil hasn't gone through puberty yet.

[00:02:10] I'm more corny than Kevin Costner's outfield.

[00:02:14] I lost you on that one.

[00:02:17] Yeah.

[00:02:18] I'm so gonna miss.

[00:02:19] Uh, field of dreams?

[00:02:21] No.

[00:02:22] I guess y'all don't really like baseball here so why would you like movies about it?

[00:02:27] Yeah.

[00:02:28] Well, how about this one?

[00:02:31] Regarding my panic attacks, I've had more psychotic episodes than Twin Peaks.

[00:02:35] I mean, I'm so crazy.

[00:02:39] Oh, crazy.

[00:02:40] There we go.

[00:02:42] There we go.

[00:03:13] Welcome to another episode of the Revisited Podcast.

[00:03:19] I'm Ben and I'm poopy.

[00:03:25] I'm Kristen.

[00:03:26] It's just poop.

[00:03:30] This is our revisited podcast of Ted Lasso.

[00:03:33] This week we are revisiting Ted Lasso season three episode one smells like mean spirit.

[00:03:41] We're already off the rails.

[00:03:42] Yeah, it's fine.

[00:03:43] Poo-peh.

[00:03:44] Look, if you've been listening to us this long, you know this happens.

[00:03:48] Yep.

[00:03:49] Um, Dave told me he goes, I don't really mind the fact that you go off the rails because I like both of you a lot.

[00:03:56] Thanks, thanks Dave.

[00:03:58] Thanks, Dave.

[00:03:59] Yeah.

[00:04:00] But I'm not sure everybody else thinks that well, that's fine.

[00:04:04] We've been doing this for like four years now.

[00:04:07] It's look, it's established.

[00:04:08] I'll put it to you this way.

[00:04:10] It's established already at this point.

[00:04:13] And the end, our listenership doesn't go down.

[00:04:18] So that's a good thing.

[00:04:21] The numbers don't go down, which is good.

[00:04:23] Good.

[00:04:24] We're not losing people on our tangents.

[00:04:26] But like I said, it, like you said, it's established at this point.

[00:04:30] Yeah.

[00:04:31] Um, I want to say before we start, you know, we mentioned last week.

[00:04:37] The future of like where we're going to go, like what the next show is.

[00:04:41] And the good place seems to pretty seems to be a pretty popular choice.

[00:04:45] I'm into it.

[00:04:46] A lot of people are kind of like yeah, like that's, that's a good place to go.

[00:04:50] We love that show.

[00:04:52] So, you know, that might, that might be the next place we go.

[00:04:59] And short, sweet, I think it's only like three seasons as well, isn't it?

[00:05:03] I think it's like three, three seasons and they're not full.

[00:05:06] See, they're like 12.

[00:05:08] Yeah, they're like tablassos.

[00:05:09] They're like lasso.

[00:05:10] So it should, it should move pretty quick.

[00:05:12] Should give you enough time to watch the wire for the first time.

[00:05:18] Before we go into that.

[00:05:20] Yes.

[00:05:21] If that's the next show.

[00:05:22] So I was having this conversation.

[00:05:24] So Tuesday night, I went to a devil's game in New Jersey.

[00:05:28] And I went with my friend, Chris, one of my, one of my friends from college.

[00:05:31] And I was explaining the whole situation about how we're probably going to do the good place first.

[00:05:36] And that gives me enough time to watch the wire so that I can rewatch the wire when we go into it.

[00:05:40] And he's like, he's like what other shows have you considered?

[00:05:43] I was like, well, I'm like, we've thrown some other ones out there like fringe and once upon a time and justified.

[00:05:48] Is it give you ever considered Chuck?

[00:05:50] And I'm like, I would love to watch Chuck.

[00:05:53] Love to rewatch Chuck.

[00:05:54] He's like, has Chris ever seen it?

[00:05:56] Like, I don't think she has.

[00:05:57] He's like, well, then good.

[00:05:59] He's like, if you have to watch the wire while you're doing the good place, then she has to watch Chuck while you're doing the wire.

[00:06:04] We already do swap Chris.

[00:06:06] Chris and barely has enough time to watch the show.

[00:06:14] She already watches.

[00:06:15] I know the Rick shows on tonight can't wait.

[00:06:18] But he does make a good point that if I have to watch a show for the first time so that we can revisit it,

[00:06:24] you should have to do it at some point too.

[00:06:27] You give me so many shows to watch without anything.

[00:06:33] True.

[00:06:34] Maybe we'll see Dave loves Chuck.

[00:06:36] Maybe you and Dave can do a special, special revisited.

[00:06:40] Chuck revisited.

[00:06:41] Yeah.

[00:06:42] I adore that show.

[00:06:44] That show.

[00:06:45] I would like to do West Wing.

[00:06:47] Oh, that's going to take a while.

[00:06:50] West Wing is so good because it was what?

[00:06:52] It was eight seasons.

[00:06:54] And they're full seasons.

[00:06:56] Like 22 episodes.

[00:06:57] No, there's like 200 episodes.

[00:06:59] Yeah, that's.

[00:07:00] Look how long it took us to get through lost.

[00:07:02] That's true.

[00:07:03] Yeah, we burned through Ted Lasso.

[00:07:06] Well, I mean, I was going to say because we love Ted Lasso but we also love lost.

[00:07:10] Yeah, well, we stayed on schedule.

[00:07:12] We did.

[00:07:13] And even got ahead of schedule a couple times which we're working on again too.

[00:07:17] Yes, spring breaks coming.

[00:07:19] Yeah, so it's pretty.

[00:07:20] We're going to be recording a number of episodes ahead of time which is great.

[00:07:23] Yeah.

[00:07:24] Yeah.

[00:07:25] So, especially considering next weekend is Easter weekend.

[00:07:29] Yeah.

[00:07:30] So we're still releasing on time but we're recording early.

[00:07:33] Uh-huh.

[00:07:34] Uh-huh.

[00:07:35] Uh, the following weekend I'm going to be in Philly all weekend for WrestleMania.

[00:07:38] So we're going to be recording for so many.

[00:07:41] Yeah.

[00:07:42] That's not the theme song and I'm so glad.

[00:07:45] Yeah.

[00:07:46] Well, all right.

[00:07:48] Let's.

[00:07:49] Let's talk Ted Lasso.

[00:07:50] Let's do that.

[00:07:51] Yeah.

[00:07:52] Season three episode one smells like means to be it.

[00:07:55] We're officially in a place now where it's kind of new to us again.

[00:08:00] Yeah.

[00:08:01] Because I haven't rewatched season three at all.

[00:08:04] Not once.

[00:08:05] Yep.

[00:08:06] You have an either.

[00:08:07] As I said before, the only episodes I've really rewatched in season three are the New Amsterdam

[00:08:12] episode and the finale.

[00:08:14] Yeah.

[00:08:15] Just just answer damn.

[00:08:17] I love answer damn.

[00:08:18] I love it so much.

[00:08:19] And I love the series finale.

[00:08:20] So like that's the episode I've rewatched a number of times the Amsterdam episode is the

[00:08:24] one you've rewatched a number of times.

[00:08:26] So we're at a point now where this is kind of a little fresh again.

[00:08:30] Yes.

[00:08:31] And it felt fresh.

[00:08:32] It felt fresh.

[00:08:33] It felt fresh.

[00:08:34] Yeah, because it didn't feel fresh actually.

[00:08:38] I want to say and you know, we've made no bones about this because you've done it for a couple

[00:08:43] episodes as well.

[00:08:45] This episode did not blow me away as a great episode.

[00:08:50] It's I enjoyed it.

[00:08:52] I thought it was a good episode.

[00:08:54] Yeah.

[00:08:55] Didn't feel great.

[00:08:56] Well, it starts off on kind of a somber note.

[00:09:00] And in years past, we've had a more upbeat note.

[00:09:04] So I think that that was maybe an issue with this episode.

[00:09:11] It's a very low rated episode for Ted Lasso.

[00:09:14] It's at I saw it on IMDB.

[00:09:16] It was 7.7.

[00:09:17] So that's just a higher than a lot of other shows.

[00:09:20] Right, but that's low for them.

[00:09:22] Yes.

[00:09:23] And I think a big reason why and I wrote this down is because first of all, we do spoilers.

[00:09:30] Look at the show notes.

[00:09:31] Blah blah blah blah.

[00:09:32] Thank you.

[00:09:33] I was going to do it when you were finished your point, but you did it anyway.

[00:09:37] Yeah.

[00:09:38] Sorry.

[00:09:40] It kind of feels like, and I'm going to use a how I met your mother term here.

[00:09:45] Revert ago where everybody's kind of back in their season one energy.

[00:09:52] Like Rupert's back in the mix of all of this.

[00:09:55] And it's got Rebecca reverting back to like she's still this evolved wonderful independent Rebecca.

[00:10:03] But that old trauma and that old abuse from Rupert is creeping back into her energy.

[00:10:13] Like her energy was so weird throughout the whole episode, right?

[00:10:18] It's a it's a power shift at Rupert has Rupert has taken the power back again.

[00:10:23] And and unfortunately shows in Rebecca.

[00:10:27] I mean, there's a whole conversation where Rebecca is talking about West him.

[00:10:30] And she keeps referring to the team as him.

[00:10:33] Right.

[00:10:34] And not and not them.

[00:10:35] And Ted keeps correcting her.

[00:10:37] No, Keely kept.

[00:10:38] Oh, Keely kept correcting her.

[00:10:40] Yeah.

[00:10:41] Maybe both of them did.

[00:10:42] I think they both did.

[00:10:43] I think Ted does at some point as well.

[00:10:45] But yeah, like there's the whole conversation where she keeps referring to the team as him.

[00:10:50] Right.

[00:10:51] Because she sees Rupert.

[00:10:52] She doesn't see West M United.

[00:10:54] She also sees she's also stressing out about the fact that everybody's projecting them to come in dead last.

[00:11:00] And you know, I mean, they're a newly.

[00:11:05] They're not relegated, right?

[00:11:06] They've they've been promoted.

[00:11:08] They've been promoted.

[00:11:09] They moved up.

[00:11:10] Yes, thank you.

[00:11:11] They're a newly promoted team.

[00:11:12] Of course, they're not going to be projected to do much because what is it?

[00:11:16] Yon said that like statistically most teams that get promoted get re relegated again.

[00:11:22] Right.

[00:11:23] So it's like, okay, well, we all know this.

[00:11:25] So why are we all freaking out about it?

[00:11:28] You know, you got that lasso magic in the locker room.

[00:11:31] Like just do your thing and let's not worry about it.

[00:11:35] Well, it would also be something different too.

[00:11:37] If this was a worry that was coming after the season had already started, the season hasn't even started yet.

[00:11:43] Right.

[00:11:44] Right.

[00:11:45] And Ted has consistently proven critics wrong.

[00:11:50] He's constantly surprised everybody.

[00:11:52] Yeah.

[00:11:53] Why are you stressing about this now?

[00:11:55] And I think it's, I think it's Rebecca.

[00:11:58] I think the reason why Rebecca is stressing about it more has something to do with Rupert than anything else.

[00:12:02] 100%.

[00:12:03] But then the team is all up in their heads about it.

[00:12:07] And um, you know, that's not really doing anything.

[00:12:11] And even, and I love it that Roy had a plan.

[00:12:14] Roy was like, listen, the way that we do this is we just, we.

[00:12:18] We'd consistency.

[00:12:19] We'd do the two four four or the four to four.

[00:12:23] Four four to great.

[00:12:24] Yeah.

[00:12:25] The four four to format, you know?

[00:12:28] And and having having a brain from a having a coach's brain be from a player standpoint, I think at this moment for the team is really, really important.

[00:12:40] I think that watching, we're going to be watching Roy come into his own as a coach and as a pretty damn good coach.

[00:12:48] Well, because he, as much as Nate was blowing himself up, you know, Nate had seniority over Roy.

[00:12:58] Right.

[00:12:59] The whole time Roy, Nate was a coach before Roy was right when he man and was the bottom rung.

[00:13:04] Now he's stepping in and he even says like, I don't have the intelligence than Nate did.

[00:13:10] But here's what I think is going to work.

[00:13:13] Yeah.

[00:13:14] Yeah.

[00:13:15] And and I think almost it seems almost like Ted has learned from his last conversation with Nate as well.

[00:13:24] And the fact that he's like, yeah, you know what?

[00:13:26] I believe in you.

[00:13:27] I think that this is going to be great.

[00:13:29] You know, he's checking in with Roy.

[00:13:31] He's making sure Roy feels confident.

[00:13:33] And I think of that something that maybe Ted didn't do right off the bat in seasons past or maybe he did and just not towards Nate, I don't know.

[00:13:42] But you know, everybody's head is somewhere else in this episode like everybody's head is somewhere else.

[00:13:51] Roy just obviously broke up with Keely.

[00:13:54] Ted is still morning or grieving the departure of Henry.

[00:14:03] Yeah.

[00:14:04] Rebecca is a frickin disaster.

[00:14:07] Keely's in her own world now.

[00:14:09] Her own world that she's going to go down her own journey this season, which I hate.

[00:14:14] But that's okay.

[00:14:15] It is what it is.

[00:14:17] It's weird when the most level headed of the entire cast for this episode is Jamie talked.

[00:14:27] Well, but I mean even on that note too, like I want to say there's even a little bit of regression in Jamie in the beginning of this episode as well.

[00:14:35] Because his hair is so terrible.

[00:14:37] Well, not not that what he says like, terrible.

[00:14:40] But when he says to the team when the team is complaining after reading another review that they're going to be.

[00:14:46] You know, they're going to finish in last place.

[00:14:49] He's the one that steps up and says, Hey, like everything's going to be okay.

[00:14:52] You've got me like okay, that's a little bit of regression from Jamie.

[00:14:57] Not he's joking.

[00:15:00] Maybe.

[00:15:01] But even if it was he snaps out of it very quickly.

[00:15:04] He's the one person out of everybody on that team who gets Ted's point of the field trip before anybody else.

[00:15:12] Yeah, it's just poopy.

[00:15:14] Let it flow.

[00:15:15] Like yeah, it's.

[00:15:17] Yeah, you know, we're going to play this plate.

[00:15:19] This clip is going to get played a lot this episode and I apologize but my mom.

[00:15:23] It's just poop.

[00:15:25] It's just I just love I just love that whole thing too in the sewer when the point that was being made in the most disgusting place you can possibly make a point is,

[00:15:36] you know, if you do some confidence, get some from Jamie.

[00:15:38] I was like, Hell yeah, get some from J.

[00:15:40] We need some happiness borrow some from Danny and he's like, Yeah, right, man.

[00:15:45] Yeah, you know,

[00:15:46] And I want to say too, like I got I forget the character's name.

[00:15:51] The player from Italy when he talks about like the his love of expensive wine.

[00:15:56] Oh no, that's the French guy.

[00:15:57] The French guy.

[00:15:58] Yeah.

[00:15:59] And he corrects him and he says, You know, that's the common misconception.

[00:16:02] Not every great wine has to be an expensive wine.

[00:16:05] I'm like, fuck yes, it doesn't.

[00:16:07] Yeah, but you know what?

[00:16:08] That is also so true about the teams.

[00:16:11] The teams don't have to be the most fancy number one projected team to be amazing.

[00:16:17] You don't need this not you don't need this high tech stadium.

[00:16:22] You don't need to drive a fucking Bentley like Rupert gives Nate at the end of the episode.

[00:16:27] It's not about the cost.

[00:16:29] It's about the quality and that the team that's in the sewers right now.

[00:16:34] That's the best team in the Premier League right now.

[00:16:37] And not because they're the most talented or they're going to win the most games is because they are.

[00:16:42] They know each other, they trust each other.

[00:16:45] They've got a family like bond at this point.

[00:16:50] And that means that they're going to play well together.

[00:16:53] And not only that, but because of everything that's been said about them about finishing in last place in the league.

[00:16:59] They are going to work the hardest because they have the most approved.

[00:17:02] And you know who's not going to work the hardest?

[00:17:05] Nathan Chenle.

[00:17:06] What, Tam?

[00:17:08] The wonder bitch.

[00:17:10] Sorry.

[00:17:11] He is the worst, the worst.

[00:17:14] When he's walking into the facility and so he's like, good morning Coach Shelley.

[00:17:19] He doesn't even look in her direction like some kind of a wanker.

[00:17:23] And then in the next scene, the guy comes in and says good morning.

[00:17:26] He's a get out.

[00:17:27] Get out.

[00:17:28] He says get out.

[00:17:29] Yeah.

[00:17:30] Like that's it's here.

[00:17:32] So there's a there's a huge dynamic in Nate to Ted in this episode.

[00:17:39] And there's always been a huge dynamic.

[00:17:41] But now that we're kind of shifting into the conversation about Nate because we have to talk about it.

[00:17:45] There's no avoiding it.

[00:17:48] There are two different types of people in this episode as they always are.

[00:17:52] But it's very deliberate in that Nate is pretending to be somebody that he's not.

[00:17:59] And Ted is no one other than himself even like and that's completely clear from their press conferences.

[00:18:08] Yeah.

[00:18:09] Nate is he's reusing jokes that he used with Rupert because he sees that they work.

[00:18:15] But Ted is cracking and Nate is making jokes about AFC Richmond while during Ted's press conference.

[00:18:21] He's also making jokes about himself and AFC Richmond.

[00:18:25] Right.

[00:18:26] He's not cracking jokes at Nate or West Ham United.

[00:18:30] He does a little bit of cracking against Nate, but it's you know it's playful.

[00:18:35] But seeing the different roads taken how they're the low in the high road is so diametrically like.

[00:18:44] I don't know the word like it's just it's so clear as day.

[00:18:49] Well, it's just awesome because you see that Nate thinks that he's ready for this big coaching job.

[00:18:55] And we see him at his first press conference and he doesn't even know how to start it.

[00:19:00] He just expects people to start talking to him actually.

[00:19:04] When he starts that press conference, the words that he's saying are lyrics to a song from a musical.

[00:19:12] He's becoming Ted in that moment.

[00:19:15] Not really for Ted or at least evil Ted or at least like he's channeling Ted a little bit in that moment.

[00:19:23] And I don't think he's realizing he's doing it until he does it.

[00:19:27] Yeah.

[00:19:28] Because he kind of tampers off a little bit when he realizes what he's saying.

[00:19:33] Well, and everything that he does he looks over Rupert for validation first which is so gross.

[00:19:40] Well, that's because Nate needs to be validated.

[00:19:42] Right.

[00:19:43] But that's another thing like with the whole revertigo thing that I was talking about earlier.

[00:19:47] Like Nate is back to his like outward need to be validated and to be complemented and to be showered with love and attention.

[00:20:00] From Rupert from the one that he wants that love and attention from right now it's Rupert.

[00:20:06] It has been Ted in the past.

[00:20:08] But now he's looking at Rupert for that same validation.

[00:20:12] You also have Ted in the very beginning.

[00:20:16] You see that he's looking a lot like he looked in season one.

[00:20:20] He looks very depressed down.

[00:20:22] He's thinking about his family back home a lot.

[00:20:26] And he's kind of take, he's mentally checked out of what's going on in the team until Rebecca is like,

[00:20:33] I need you to wake up.

[00:20:35] And he wakes up.

[00:20:37] He finally goes back to being the Ted that we know and love.

[00:20:41] But it takes him almost the entire episode to get there.

[00:20:44] Yeah, because it's not until the field trip that he kind of finally realizes like, okay, like this is,

[00:20:50] I got to concentrate on the team.

[00:20:52] Yeah.

[00:20:53] Well, it's not even the field trip.

[00:20:55] I don't think it's until that press conference where he finally realizes he needs to, he needs to show a little bit of backbone.

[00:21:02] Maybe that is it.

[00:21:03] I mean, because like one of the best moments of that press conference too is kind of we see Rebecca snap out of it too.

[00:21:10] Yes.

[00:21:11] A little bit because she gets that text message from Keely.

[00:21:15] Yes.

[00:21:16] That says wait a let Ted be Ted.

[00:21:18] And she wasn't letting Ted be Ted.

[00:21:20] No, I think she kind of, I think she kind of realizes even she's been holding Ted back a little bit.

[00:21:26] Well, how often do we see her in the press room watching him do this almost never?

[00:21:32] Well, we haven't seen her do it. I think since season one.

[00:21:35] Right.

[00:21:36] So she is trying to control the narrative and she's messing everything up by doing that.

[00:21:43] Yeah.

[00:21:44] Her hands off approach is what is working with this team?

[00:21:49] Yeah.

[00:21:50] Yeah.

[00:21:51] So I mean, it was it was such a great moment because then we see her.

[00:21:55] She's very uncomfortable with the jokes that Ted's making until Keely helps her.

[00:22:00] Oh, no more knew.

[00:22:02] I love that too.

[00:22:04] And I like, I got even I got the same disappointment Ted did when they didn't get the field of dreams reference.

[00:22:12] Stone silent man.

[00:22:15] Like it's a classic movie.

[00:22:19] I'm sure Britain has seen that movie too.

[00:22:22] Like it is a classic movie.

[00:22:24] What does he say?

[00:22:25] I've got more more core than Kevin Koster's outfield or something like that.

[00:22:30] Something like that.

[00:22:31] Yeah.

[00:22:32] Yeah.

[00:22:33] My jokes are more corny than Kevin Koster's outfield or something like that.

[00:22:36] Yeah.

[00:22:37] Well, good for us for knowing good for us for knowing that quote.

[00:22:40] We're so smart.

[00:22:42] Look, I don't have a lot of quotes for the quote section this episode.

[00:22:45] It's just stupid.

[00:22:46] I mean, there are some and I have one or two but I don't have a lot.

[00:22:51] I got to keep better track of it as we go forward.

[00:22:53] I didn't really, I'll be honest.

[00:22:54] I didn't really keep track of the quotes this episode.

[00:22:56] I didn't really, yeah, I just watched it.

[00:22:58] You know what?

[00:22:59] It's this episode is is

[00:23:02] I think kind of like getting the pieces in place.

[00:23:05] Yeah, I can see that.

[00:23:08] I think I think one of the things is too that with seasons one and two,

[00:23:12] I really only had to watch them once while I was taking notes because I had seen

[00:23:17] the episodes already enough times.

[00:23:19] Right.

[00:23:20] I think now with season three, I have to go back to the approach of watching it twice before we record.

[00:23:25] Like I have to watch it once again as a viewer and then a second time to take my notes.

[00:23:30] Right.

[00:23:31] Because I like, I almost feel, I know I'm not.

[00:23:34] And like we're still got, we still have more to talk about.

[00:23:37] But I know that I like, I almost feel unprepared.

[00:23:41] I don't have nearly as many notes as I usually do.

[00:23:44] But that's okay because it's just, it's a, it's a, it is a setup premiere.

[00:23:50] We've had a bit of a break at least six weeks because Henry has been.

[00:23:55] He was there for six weeks.

[00:23:57] And that's what Roy said at the end of last season.

[00:24:00] He said for six weeks we're going to go here.

[00:24:02] So obviously they all had six weeks off.

[00:24:05] Yeah.

[00:24:06] So now they're all, yeah.

[00:24:07] Now they're all back.

[00:24:08] And I think it's just a kind of, okay, so where is everybody right now?

[00:24:14] Let's establish that because you have to establish that Roy and Keeley broke up.

[00:24:19] You have to establish that Keeley has this new life with these really awkward office people in her life.

[00:24:25] You have to establish that Rupert is screwing with Rebecca Ann Nate,

[00:24:32] which is bringing him lots of Emperor Palpatine joy.

[00:24:37] Right.

[00:24:38] Even to the, even to the circular window behind his desk.

[00:24:42] Yeah, it is so star wars.

[00:24:44] It is ridiculous.

[00:24:45] And he looks like the emperor.

[00:24:47] Like he just looks sickly and dehydrated.

[00:24:50] Um, I love Anthony.

[00:24:53] I love Anthony head though.

[00:24:54] Like I hate the character Rupert but I love the actor that plays in the show.

[00:24:57] Well, he's so good at being awful.

[00:25:00] And he even said in interviews that he like he adored playing this part because it was just fun to be the villain of a show that.

[00:25:08] Like, was it?

[00:25:11] It's as wholesome as it is exactly right.

[00:25:14] Um, you have rebe, yeah, so you got that with Rebecca.

[00:25:18] Um, and then what else, what else are we setting up?

[00:25:21] Um, we're setting up the new coaching dynamic because we've got the three coaches now.

[00:25:27] Um, we got to see what the team is doing and see how the team is reacting to everybody.

[00:25:32] Are they still all friends?

[00:25:33] Are they still all as close as they were?

[00:25:35] And yeah, they are.

[00:25:36] I mean, they're, they're relatively unchanged team which is why it's going to be very exciting to see new blood coming in very soon.

[00:25:44] Next episode.

[00:25:45] Yeah.

[00:25:46] Yeah, yeah.

[00:25:47] Um, and then we have to see what's going on with Nate.

[00:25:50] How was Nate taking the new coaching gig?

[00:25:52] Cause the last time we saw him, he was in a bad wig being talked to by a rupor on the field on the pitch.

[00:25:59] A bad wig.

[00:26:00] Yeah, that was a wig wasn't it?

[00:26:03] Yeah.

[00:26:04] You could totally tell like look at that last shot.

[00:26:07] It is a bad wig.

[00:26:09] I don't think it is because I've seen him in the trivia.

[00:26:13] Is it?

[00:26:14] Okay.

[00:26:15] Cause he has since actually gone that gray.

[00:26:18] Well, yeah, I'm not having himself has actually gone that gray.

[00:26:22] I don't know why they gave him a wig but it's a wig.

[00:26:25] Um, you know what's funny is that the one person that's not unchanged and who has remained steady and the same.

[00:26:33] Jamie fucking tart.

[00:26:35] I was going to say Phoebe.

[00:26:36] Do you do?

[00:26:37] Do you do?

[00:26:38] Phoebe's even changed her voice is a little deeper.

[00:26:42] She's obviously gotten older.

[00:26:44] She's older.

[00:26:45] Yeah.

[00:26:46] You know, it's yeah, I mean you're right.

[00:26:49] There's a lot of things that this episode is setting up.

[00:26:52] Um, you know, and even going back to the very beginning of that opening shot of Ted and you can see him mentally.

[00:26:57] You're right.

[00:26:58] He's he's drained.

[00:26:59] He hate you can tell just by the look on his face and the way he looks physically.

[00:27:05] Like as a whole.

[00:27:08] He is so depressed in this fact that he is sending Henry home.

[00:27:13] He's got his depression hair.

[00:27:15] Yes, yeah.

[00:27:17] And they do a really, they do a really good job of hinting that of maybe it isn't wood.

[00:27:24] It seems to be because you see him read that text that says have a nice flight.

[00:27:30] You know, I love you and it's from Michelle.

[00:27:34] And then in the next moment.

[00:27:35] I'm using well, no.

[00:27:37] And then in the next moment, that's when he says your mom sent you a text.

[00:27:40] You don't realize at that moment that he's holding Henry's phone.

[00:27:43] Right, right, right.

[00:27:44] That's what I'm saying.

[00:27:45] It's confusing in the beginning.

[00:27:46] You're like, what?

[00:27:47] Yeah.

[00:27:48] It kind of makes you think that like, wait, is Ted home and he's flying back to the UK like or is he in the UK and he's flying home?

[00:27:54] Like, what is happening here?

[00:27:55] I don't know why I couldn't figure it out.

[00:27:56] Like, that was really weird.

[00:27:57] I could not figure out like where they were until it was like, hello, Mr. Lasso.

[00:28:02] And I'm like, okay, got it.

[00:28:03] You know where we are?

[00:28:04] It's fine.

[00:28:05] From Emma the flight attendant.

[00:28:06] Now, did you hear?

[00:28:09] And it's not really a spoiler because it's the name of an episode later.

[00:28:14] But did you hear over the intercom that they were talking about the flight to Amsterdam being delayed?

[00:28:20] Oh no, I wasn't paying attention to that.

[00:28:21] I love those just like a little thing that I noticed.

[00:28:23] And I was like, oh, there you go.

[00:28:26] That Amsterdam.

[00:28:28] We're still a couple weeks off of that.

[00:28:31] That's episode six of the season.

[00:28:32] So we've got a, and it is the, I think it is the highest rated episode of of the season minus the finale.

[00:28:42] The, no, mom city and the finale.

[00:28:45] Mom city's good too.

[00:28:46] Mom city and the finale are the two.

[00:28:49] I think there are two of the highest rated episodes of the series.

[00:28:53] I love Amsterdam.

[00:28:54] Anyways, I just noticed that they did have a small mention of Amsterdam, which I think is a big turning point in the season.

[00:29:03] And it's the episode of the series too.

[00:29:05] Yeah.

[00:29:06] So it's just the fact that they're like, Amsterdam's been delayed.

[00:29:09] It's like happiness has been delayed.

[00:29:12] Oh, that's a good analogy.

[00:29:16] Well, when you realize what Amsterdam is.

[00:29:19] Right.

[00:29:20] It's not an analogy right now.

[00:29:21] No, but it's a hint.

[00:29:23] It is a piece of foreshadowing, which I love.

[00:29:26] I'm teaching foreshadowing right now to my middle schoolers.

[00:29:29] So I love foreshadowing.

[00:29:31] But yeah, but yeah, like going back to the whole setup of the episode and how he just looks beaten and distraught.

[00:29:38] And they do it.

[00:29:39] They do a good job of for the first 30 seconds, not even the first 30 seconds, maybe the first 10 seconds of the episode.

[00:29:45] They really get you wondering where are we at?

[00:29:48] Right.

[00:29:49] Because it's a close up on Ted.

[00:29:51] He's seeing a text from Michelle that says, have a safe flight and I love you.

[00:29:54] It's like, oh, are they back together?

[00:29:57] Is he in the US right now?

[00:29:59] And he's flying back to the UK.

[00:30:01] And that's why he's depressed is like what is happening?

[00:30:05] And then, you know, it pans out and you see the entire world.

[00:30:10] Right.

[00:30:11] Not just the close up.

[00:30:13] And you realize, oh, this is Henry's phone.

[00:30:15] Henry's been there.

[00:30:16] Henry's going home.

[00:30:17] Right.

[00:30:18] This is why he is the way he is.

[00:30:19] But it also shows like how self-absorbed that Ted can be, which is not something that we get a lot from him.

[00:30:27] But when he starts to go down his depression pipe, he gets very, very focused inward on him.

[00:30:34] And that's why it's interesting that we start the episode with just him.

[00:30:39] And then we pan out and we see what the whole scope is.

[00:30:44] You know, he's sitting right next to Henry.

[00:30:48] And Henry's watching a video and he's so depressed about the fact that he has to say goodbye to Henry.

[00:30:53] He's not spending those last moments with Henry.

[00:30:56] And if you look at that scene, he's actually not next to Henry.

[00:30:59] There are seats in between them.

[00:31:01] Yeah.

[00:31:02] Right.

[00:31:03] And it's almost like, and it's almost like by doing that, Ted was starting the separation before Henry had to go home.

[00:31:11] And yeah.

[00:31:12] And that's, that's very interesting.

[00:31:15] That's because it's a very sad and depressing thing for us as viewers too to when we switch back to Ted, returning back to his flat, he's cleaning up everything that him and Henry had built over the past six weeks.

[00:31:31] The forts.

[00:31:32] The forts putting the cushions back on the couch, cleaning up the bowls of cereal they were eating.

[00:31:38] The only thing that stays is the Lego stadium, which I'll be honest with you.

[00:31:42] I want.

[00:31:43] Yeah.

[00:31:44] And I would not take that apart either.

[00:31:46] No, no, no, no, no.

[00:31:47] That would be somewhere in my office.

[00:31:49] I'd take that into my office and I'd be like, this is what my son sees.

[00:31:53] You know, this is how you are viewed through the eyes of a child.

[00:31:57] Look, I'll be honest.

[00:31:58] I'm in my forties.

[00:32:00] I still play with Legos.

[00:32:02] I have the Lego firehouse and it was such a point of pride that I bought that thing and put it together.

[00:32:07] And it was so heartbreaking to take it apart and put it in a bin.

[00:32:12] Yeah.

[00:32:13] And I'm to the point now where you know what, Ghostbusters is out again.

[00:32:16] Maybe I should break it out and put it back together.

[00:32:18] Yeah, do it.

[00:32:19] Well, Adam spent five days putting together the whole Hogwarts castle when he was little, when he was like five or six years old.

[00:32:26] And this little girl came over to our house and went upstairs to his room and smashed the thing to pieces.

[00:32:32] Why?

[00:32:33] Because she was crazy.

[00:32:35] And since then, any kid that comes over to the house and even starts to like go up the stairs, Adam still to this day is like, don't go in my room!

[00:32:46] And because he's scared, he's got, he's, he collects the Star Wars ships.

[00:32:51] So he's got a ton of ships that are built and on his, on his dresser.

[00:32:57] And he's just terrified that the same thing is going to happen again which I totally...

[00:33:02] Well, when I come over, Adam can show me all his Lego stuff and know that it's safe because I appreciate the sanctity of Lego.

[00:33:14] That's well everybody should.

[00:33:16] Takes a lot of work.

[00:33:17] And the challenge...

[00:33:18] And it's expensive.

[00:33:19] And the challenge for me putting the Ghostbusters Lego Firehouse back together again is when you first put it together, everything is in bags that are...

[00:33:27] Oh yeah, you have to find it!

[00:33:28] Now I have to find it in this huge game of Lego.

[00:33:32] So it's going to take me longer but I'm up for the challenge anyway.

[00:33:35] You guys are awesome.

[00:33:36] Back to I want the Lego AFC Richmond.

[00:33:40] If they, if they ever make it, I want it.

[00:33:43] That's so cool.

[00:33:44] Yeah.

[00:33:45] But I love the fact that he keeps that together and like...

[00:33:47] And I'm pretty sure it's not a spoiler.

[00:33:50] I think that stays throughout the entire season.

[00:33:53] Yes.

[00:33:54] I think that stays on his coffee table the entire time.

[00:33:56] It does because it comes up in mom city.

[00:34:00] I'm remembering that now.

[00:34:02] You know what I really love about what's different about Ted?

[00:34:05] Like, because he is, he's very depressed.

[00:34:07] You could tell that he could spiral at any moment.

[00:34:10] And what does he do?

[00:34:13] Calls Dr. Sharon.

[00:34:15] He calls Dr. Sharon.

[00:34:16] Okay, I'm glad you brought this up because I actually do...

[00:34:19] There is something about this that I really do love.

[00:34:23] And it's the fact that I love the fact that we're seeing Dr. Sharon again.

[00:34:26] We don't get a lot of her at all this season.

[00:34:29] Actually, I don't think we see her again until the finale if I remember correctly.

[00:34:33] Don't worry.

[00:34:34] We left her in a good spot.

[00:34:36] And I love the fact that even though Ted is beaten and he's depressed

[00:34:41] and he's going through all of this, we see that the lasso effect has changed somebody.

[00:34:46] Because Dr. Sharon has allowed herself to now be in a relationship.

[00:34:50] Yeah.

[00:34:51] Or even if it's not a relationship,

[00:34:53] even if it's just having fun with somebody.

[00:34:56] With a rugby player.

[00:34:58] She has allowed herself to open herself up to do this.

[00:35:02] Which we have to do.

[00:35:03] Yeah.

[00:35:04] Which we know from last season she never did before Ted.

[00:35:08] Right.

[00:35:09] Yeah, she has a life.

[00:35:10] She's allowed herself to have a life.

[00:35:12] And I like it that she made the very naked man wear headphones.

[00:35:17] Yeah.

[00:35:18] I picked up on that too.

[00:35:20] She's so ethical.

[00:35:21] I just love how ethical she is.

[00:35:23] Oh, you've gotten off?

[00:35:25] Not yet, I haven't.

[00:35:26] Not yet, I haven't.

[00:35:27] Door closes.

[00:35:28] Yeah, Dr. Sharon.

[00:35:29] That's...

[00:35:30] Yeah, Dr. Sharon.

[00:35:31] Yeah.

[00:35:32] Like, that's...

[00:35:33] I love that even in this moment of kind of despair and everything that we're seeing,

[00:35:37] we're still seeing the effect Ted has had on other people.

[00:35:41] Yes.

[00:35:42] Absolutely.

[00:35:43] And we're seeing it through Dr. Sharon, who's the one person that's helping him now.

[00:35:47] But she was his hardest nut to crack.

[00:35:52] Yeah.

[00:35:53] Harder than going.

[00:35:54] Harder than Jamie.

[00:35:55] Harder than all of them.

[00:35:57] If he could change the heart of Dr. Sharon, Ted Lasso can do anything.

[00:36:04] Yeah.

[00:36:05] Yeah.

[00:36:06] 100%.

[00:36:07] So I agreed that completely.

[00:36:11] I have to see, check in some of my notes because I have that in my notes too,

[00:36:18] sending Henry home and in the conversation with Dr. Sharon.

[00:36:21] How about the truth bomb at the end of the episode with Henry?

[00:36:24] Oh, who's Jake?

[00:36:27] Who is that?

[00:36:28] Mom's friend.

[00:36:29] Oh, we're going to have a...

[00:36:31] And then he said, did you notice that Ted said, oh snap!

[00:36:34] When he saw the gauntlet.

[00:36:35] When he saw the gauntlet.

[00:36:36] Oh, pick up on that.

[00:36:38] That's such a great little nod.

[00:36:42] I love it.

[00:36:44] I didn't pick up on that.

[00:36:46] No, I want to go back and rewatch that scene.

[00:36:48] Oh snap.

[00:36:49] Just need that.

[00:36:50] I want that had to have been done intentionally.

[00:36:53] Of course it was.

[00:36:54] Had to have been done intentionally.

[00:36:56] But getting back to the point of the mention of Jake, we have spoken about him and spoilers.

[00:37:05] Uh, we will have a lot to say about Jake.

[00:37:10] Mom's new friend Jake.

[00:37:13] Mom's new friend Jake.

[00:37:16] Mom's new friend Jake.

[00:37:18] We will have a lot to say about Jake this season.

[00:37:22] But going on that note too, we've talked a lot about in past episodes how the use of music is really well done

[00:37:31] and we'll use in the show.

[00:37:33] The closing song that happens is Ring the Alarm by BeyoncƩ.

[00:37:39] Which just the title of that song is so fitting for that moment for Ted.

[00:37:47] Like, I don't even know what the lyrics of that song are and if they fit in with what's happening but just the title of the song Ring the Alarm because that is happening.

[00:37:55] That is what is happening in Ted's mind in that moment right there.

[00:38:00] He's going to be ringing the alarm for the diamond dogs.

[00:38:04] Oh God.

[00:38:07] I can't wait to see more diamond dogs this is the season.

[00:38:10] Yeah, a lot more diamond dogs.

[00:38:12] Yeah, they're with new members.

[00:38:14] Yes.

[00:38:15] Or a new member of the time and dog because they lost one in Nate.

[00:38:21] Although, you know, given up on the diamond dogs by the end of the day, did they lose him now?

[00:38:25] His heart was not in it.

[00:38:29] So it was something that was kind of hinted at the end of season two with the finale.

[00:38:34] But we know now officially Ted and Keely have broken it off in this.

[00:38:40] I know you have big issues with that.

[00:38:42] I do.

[00:38:43] I think that it's okay to be successful and have a partner.

[00:38:48] And I agree with you.

[00:38:50] I agree with you completely.

[00:38:52] Because you have an issue with it.

[00:38:54] I know other people have had issues with it.

[00:38:56] I've actually learned to have my own issues with it because I ship Keely and Roy,

[00:39:00] so fucking hard in this is the relationship is fantastic.

[00:39:04] Yes.

[00:39:05] It's never I'm not if I was going to say hashtag relationship goals, but I'm not that person.

[00:39:11] But he was, but I did it anyway.

[00:39:14] It just do it anyways.

[00:39:15] So let's just get that out of the way.

[00:39:18] Let's just walk past that.

[00:39:20] Yeah.

[00:39:21] I also said ship, which isn't me either.

[00:39:24] What is happening to me?

[00:39:26] Because Roy and Keely make us do things that we don't want to do because they're so fucking cute.

[00:39:31] Yeah.

[00:39:32] I mean, we do see a little bit of it in the conversation with Keely and Rebecca where, you know, she says she doesn't have time for a lot of people in her life.

[00:39:44] She even overbooked.

[00:39:45] She even double booked Rebecca.

[00:39:48] I should double book Rebecca with a crisis.

[00:39:51] So like,

[00:39:52] which I love the fact that Keely's makeup leaves stains on people's shirts so much so that Higgins even shows he has his own.

[00:40:01] It's kind of like a badge of honor times.

[00:40:04] Yeah.

[00:40:05] It's kind of like a badge of honor you wear to have been someone that Keely cried on your shoulder.

[00:40:10] I like it that he's like and she puts this on her eyes.

[00:40:14] I love it.

[00:40:19] I love Higgins is a heartburn moment.

[00:40:22] Oh, where does your son put Richmond?

[00:40:27] Anytime he does that.

[00:40:30] Like it's I love that that's a little like a little nuance in Higgins that they just never got rid of and never goes away.

[00:40:39] Anytime he gets uncomfortable.

[00:40:41] It's like Kathy that Kathy comic act act act.

[00:40:45] Like that's what I that's what I assume that Higgins is doing is doing the Kathy act.

[00:40:49] Yeah, yeah, I guess that could be.

[00:40:52] I guess that could kind of be it but I mean we see like Keely is in a I mean as much as we dislike the whole element of.

[00:41:01] Well, it's kind of weird.

[00:41:03] And that's actually not like think about it.

[00:41:05] You you feel like Keely is really moving on into a great place but I don't feel like even she feels a little fish out of waterish similar to Nate in this episode.

[00:41:17] I didn't know what a CFO was.

[00:41:19] I know.

[00:41:21] That's how out of her depth she is.

[00:41:24] Yeah, I feel like she is very fish out of water.

[00:41:28] I mean, it's great for her to have this opportunity but she hasn't fully moved into it yet.

[00:41:37] And I don't think she does for a while or it.

[00:41:40] Yeah, she might have moved too fast into it.

[00:41:44] Yeah, into being that funded with the whole staff and everything but you know that's something that we can talk about when we start talking about her boss her finance her.

[00:41:56] When her when her boss comes into play.

[00:41:58] Yeah, yeah, her backer.

[00:42:00] She's your own boss but her backer.

[00:42:02] Yeah, but it's kind of it's interesting too because sometimes all the glitter and gold that you're offered isn't always worth the prize because we see that with Sam last season.

[00:42:12] Yeah, he was offered so much and given put it so much on a plate in front of him Sam knew enough to turn it down.

[00:42:20] Keely was offered the same plate and took it.

[00:42:24] So it's confidence probably because we know that Sam is sure of who he is.

[00:42:30] He is confident in his abilities as a person and as an athlete.

[00:42:34] Keely is somebody who has always second guest herself.

[00:42:37] And so to get this opportunity I think is something that she felt that she could do but nobody really prepared her for it.

[00:42:46] Yeah, yeah, I can see that but then again also at the same time.

[00:42:51] The third person who was also given a silver platter in front of them was Nate.

[00:42:56] And Nate took it and Nate also is not ready for what he was given.

[00:43:02] No, but the downside the downside to Nate is that so Sam was offered the silver platter and turn it down because of his confidence who he is as you mentioned.

[00:43:12] Keely is offered the silver platter but once she took it, she wasn't given anything else so she was kind of ill prepared.

[00:43:18] Nate was given the silver platter and now they're still piling stuff on that plate.

[00:43:23] Rupert's given him the Bentley.

[00:43:25] Well, he got the car because he did so well at the press conference.

[00:43:29] But again, it's still piling more on that silver platter.

[00:43:33] That so much that it's going to way.

[00:43:35] So much that it's going to weigh him down.

[00:43:38] Oh, 100%.

[00:43:41] And what weaker people don't realize is that that showering of gifts is going to come back and bite you.

[00:43:50] The people giving you these gifts expect a return on their investment.

[00:43:56] Nothing is free.

[00:43:57] Nothing is free with these types of people with Rupert types of people.

[00:44:03] And he watched Rebecca pay that price.

[00:44:06] So it's interesting that he's walking into this relationship for lack of a better word with Rupert knowing what he does because he's been there longer than Ted and beard were.

[00:44:19] Well, it's also interesting too because Nate is kind of two faced at this point.

[00:44:24] I know.

[00:44:25] Well, he is absolutely two faced in this point because we mentioned when he's going up the escalator and the woman says good morning to him.

[00:44:31] He completely ignores her when the gentleman comes in and says good morning.

[00:44:34] He tells them immediately get out.

[00:44:36] He's putting on this this front of being this all powerful person even when he talks to his own players.

[00:44:43] This is the dumb dumb line.

[00:44:45] That I.

[00:44:47] Yeah.

[00:44:48] That was a.

[00:44:50] I wanted to kick you in the face moment.

[00:44:53] I always want to kick him in the face always.

[00:44:56] But when he is in Rupert's presence, he completely regresses into a child again.

[00:45:03] Like he fumbles over his words.

[00:45:06] He he second guesses himself.

[00:45:09] He's very timid.

[00:45:10] He is not the person that he pretends to be in front of everybody else.

[00:45:15] Right because well, he knows he's not that person.

[00:45:18] He regresses in front of Rupert.

[00:45:20] Right.

[00:45:21] You know, because he's intimidated even so like and even like we see the first thing he does when he goes into the office is he gets on the computer because he needs the validation from everybody online.

[00:45:35] I love it when they I love it when after Ted's conference.

[00:45:41] And how it all swings away from him.

[00:45:44] Yep.

[00:45:45] All the attention is on Ted.

[00:45:46] All the positivity is on Ted because when they go low, you go high.

[00:45:51] Yeah.

[00:45:52] I tell that to everybody that will listen to me when they go low, you have to go high.

[00:45:56] You have to.

[00:45:57] Well, even the whole spitting thing comes back in the play this episode again too because Nate starts to have a panic attack.

[00:46:06] Oh, what?

[00:46:07] I know.

[00:46:08] Like he is in the same situation Ted is in and starts to have a panic attack like Ted.

[00:46:15] He is experiencing it's coming back to bite him in the ass.

[00:46:20] Yeah, well, couldn't couldn't be happening to a more deserved person.

[00:46:27] And it's just I love the fact that Ted, you know when he has his press conference and he just starts cracking on himself.

[00:46:35] Like, you know what?

[00:46:36] Like that's great.

[00:46:37] I wish him all the luck.

[00:46:38] But you know, like he left so much on the table.

[00:46:41] Yeah.

[00:46:42] And starts making all these jokes that Nate could have made and he has won the audience back.

[00:46:49] Yeah.

[00:46:50] He is one of the fans back.

[00:46:51] Yeah.

[00:46:52] I don't you know what?

[00:46:53] I mean, I don't even want to say I don't even think the he the fans.

[00:46:59] I was going to say I don't think the fans have returned on him, but even the wanker guy gave him the finger in the beginning of the episode.

[00:47:05] I think that that's just now just cheeky, you know, that's like maybe an inside joke with them at this.

[00:47:11] Maybe.

[00:47:12] You know, yeah, there was no May and there was no.

[00:47:16] I was literally just going to say that.

[00:47:19] You've got they didn't even go into the bar.

[00:47:21] I it would have been interesting to see how may feel is about all this right now.

[00:47:27] All the reports of them finishing last.

[00:47:31] Because I would have loved to have heard May's opinion and Jeremy Paul and bass.

[00:47:37] Yeah, are three amigos.

[00:47:41] I think it feels like are we getting a beard coach?

[00:47:44] No, just pass your apartment.

[00:47:49] Yeah, and well, I mean, that's just because of how distracted Ted was about everything.

[00:47:53] And you know what?

[00:47:54] Like you're right.

[00:47:55] Like everybody seems to have other things in their life happening.

[00:47:59] Beard's the only one that doesn't beard is still focused on the game because beard is right where he wants to be beard lives in the moment.

[00:48:08] He always has lived in the moment.

[00:48:10] And it's proving to be the strength of the team in the show right now because the fact that beard never changes is one of the best parts about the show is that he's that reliable friend.

[00:48:21] I know we're still a long way off.

[00:48:23] Yeah, I know what you're about to say.

[00:48:25] Man, when you finally get Beard's backstory.

[00:48:30] It all clicks into place.

[00:48:32] It is and it is one of the best moments of this season.

[00:48:37] Yeah, and I love it.

[00:48:39] It's only a couple minutes man like it's huge.

[00:48:42] It's such a huge moment.

[00:48:44] And beard has an awful lot of scary knowledge about to Venom.

[00:48:49] Okay, so I thought that that was slang for something.

[00:48:53] No, it's not to Venom.

[00:48:55] Well, it's to Venom.

[00:48:57] That's the thing.

[00:48:58] It's a thing.

[00:48:59] Okay, I did not know that.

[00:49:01] Yeah, it's it's a psychedelic.

[00:49:03] Well, okay, thank you.

[00:49:05] Yeah.

[00:49:06] That's why you should never lick a frog's eyeball.

[00:49:08] Well, that's exactly where to Venom comes in.

[00:49:10] Gross.

[00:49:12] It's a psychedelic.

[00:49:14] I don't know because I've done it.

[00:49:16] I just I had a lot of hippie friends grow enough.

[00:49:19] So I'm so glad I'm but they all did pay Odie.

[00:49:22] They didn't do they didn't do to Venom.

[00:49:25] But so like he.

[00:49:28] Beard has an awful lot of knowledge about to Venom and it's kind of scary.

[00:49:33] It's like I was like, no, it's going to be life changing but he can drive.

[00:49:39] He's going 20 20 minutes where you know, you can't do anything.

[00:49:47] We talked a little bit about the field trip.

[00:49:50] But we didn't.

[00:49:52] Really go into too much detail about it and it's you know,

[00:49:56] it's this field trip that Ted takes the team on to go down to the to a paddle

[00:50:00] into the sewer system and look, I mean,

[00:50:03] the point that he is trying to make is legitimate and I'm glad

[00:50:08] that the team picks up on it.

[00:50:10] But it is a point of contention because there are pictures that are revealed.

[00:50:15] And it's what causes Nate to kind of make the crack on Ted like,

[00:50:19] well, it's appropriate because he's such a shitty coach.

[00:50:23] You know and it I feel like even Rebecca was a little right in getting

[00:50:29] a little mad about it.

[00:50:31] Yeah.

[00:50:32] You don't think so?

[00:50:33] No.

[00:50:34] You think she should have just trusted you think she should have just trusted

[00:50:37] Ted's.

[00:50:38] I think that at this point after all this time,

[00:50:40] trust that Ted knows what he's doing.

[00:50:43] You know, so they came out of the sewer.

[00:50:45] You could say yeah, they went on a field trip looking for Ninja Turtles.

[00:50:48] Like who cares?

[00:50:50] You know what it's it's funny too that even the team,

[00:50:54] even though they they're second guessing what they're doing,

[00:50:58] they still do it.

[00:51:00] Because they have to trust in that.

[00:51:02] And it was first down that hole.

[00:51:03] Oh Sam.

[00:51:04] Sam.

[00:51:05] Yeah.

[00:51:06] Sam was the first one down.

[00:51:08] I find it a little odd that Ted took Henry on that tour.

[00:51:12] But remember, it was because of the movie it.

[00:51:15] Oh, I missed that part.

[00:51:18] He accidentally watched the movie it on the way over because he was watching

[00:51:22] someone else's screen.

[00:51:23] That's right.

[00:51:24] So he was scared out of his mind of the sewers so they confronted his fear.

[00:51:29] That's right.

[00:51:31] Which in a way that's actually kind of what he's doing with the team.

[00:51:34] He's confronting their fears that they are a shit team.

[00:51:38] Yeah.

[00:51:39] And giving them the point that shit just flows downstream.

[00:51:43] It floats away.

[00:51:44] Just poop it.

[00:51:46] Um, I love the fact that Henry jokes with him when he calls him and tells him he landed

[00:51:52] and he watched a movie called The Exorcist.

[00:51:54] That was amazing.

[00:51:57] That was amazing.

[00:51:59] Ted legitimately gets a little freaked out there for a minute until Henry tells him

[00:52:04] he was just joking.

[00:52:05] Anybody that has seen The Exorcist knows that that's an immediate cause for issue.

[00:52:11] Well, because not only that but in Ted's mind like, okay, he took him down into the sewers

[00:52:16] to confront his fear about it.

[00:52:18] What's he going to do to confront his fear about the exorcist?

[00:52:22] Oh, go go to Georgetown and walk down the stairs.

[00:52:25] I don't know.

[00:52:26] I don't know.

[00:52:27] Eat pea soup and realize you don't have to vomit it up.

[00:52:30] Like I don't know your head won't spin around and so look Henry your head only goes so far.

[00:52:34] Yep.

[00:52:35] I'll be exorcist.

[00:52:37] Ooh.

[00:52:38] Um, grab crawl in the exorcist is something else.

[00:52:41] That movie is just exceptional.

[00:52:45] Um, I think.

[00:52:48] I got everything.

[00:52:49] I think I got everything to one of my own.

[00:52:53] I'll just bring this up because it's just one of my favorite moments of the episode is right

[00:52:59] before they go on the field trip in Ted's town, I'm all to go to the bus.

[00:53:02] He's like, all right, everybody run except Roy and the whole team runs and Roy is just doing

[00:53:07] like this, this terminator.

[00:53:08] Terminator walk.

[00:53:09] Yes.

[00:53:10] The terminator walk.

[00:53:11] I just love that.

[00:53:12] What am I going to do?

[00:53:13] We said last one, last one to the bus is something.

[00:53:20] And then he says now everybody run except Roy.

[00:53:23] Yeah.

[00:53:24] And the whole team takes off and Roy is just doing the terminator walk behind even the

[00:53:32] music changes in it.

[00:53:33] Yeah.

[00:53:34] It's a kind of like that menacing walk.

[00:53:36] Roy.

[00:53:37] I love it.

[00:53:38] Wessel.

[00:53:39] Wessel.

[00:53:40] Um, so yeah, I think that's everything I have to.

[00:53:44] Um, I do have one thing for spoilers.

[00:53:47] I don't know.

[00:53:48] Sorry, I have one more thing.

[00:53:50] Okay.

[00:53:51] So I don't know if Dave talks about it in his feedback because I didn't read it.

[00:53:56] But he did make the comment last night and goes, this is how great this show is.

[00:54:00] Is that you have these really flushed out characters right down to the team bus driver who used

[00:54:07] to be an occult, used to be the leader of a cult.

[00:54:10] And now he lives.

[00:54:12] He lives at the practice facility and smokes toad venom in the bus.

[00:54:20] Yeah.

[00:54:21] Every character, we talked about this from episode one.

[00:54:26] Every character has a story.

[00:54:28] Every character has a story.

[00:54:30] Every character is part of this entire journey.

[00:54:33] Yeah.

[00:54:34] Nobody is filler.

[00:54:35] Everybody is has their moments.

[00:54:37] Everybody is somehow part of this entire tale, which is wonderful.

[00:54:42] It's great.

[00:54:43] Yeah.

[00:54:44] Um, so nothing else for you for non-spoileries.

[00:54:48] Okay.

[00:54:49] So then with that being said, I don't see this being very long, but if you want to avoid spoilers,

[00:54:53] uh, check the show notes to find out when we're going to come back in.

[00:54:57] I only have one thing for spoilers.

[00:54:59] I don't know if you have anything at all.

[00:55:01] I have kind of not really.

[00:55:04] So we talked in for the season two finale.

[00:55:06] Alex was the one that kind of brought this point to our attention in how the season book ends

[00:55:11] with a close up on Nate starts with the close up one Nate and the premiere and then it ends

[00:55:16] with the close up on Nate in the finale.

[00:55:19] This season is going to do the same thing.

[00:55:21] It starts with the close up on Ted being depressed and disheveled, and it ends with the close

[00:55:28] up on Ted home and happy home and happy.

[00:55:32] Yeah.

[00:55:33] I love it.

[00:55:34] That's beautiful.

[00:55:35] It's a great book end.

[00:55:36] They're doing that.

[00:55:37] It makes me almost want to go back to season one and see what they did and see it.

[00:55:41] I think the book ending of season one is the spitting in the face.

[00:55:49] Sort of because I think that happens in the premiere, but it's also the last scene of season

[00:55:54] one.

[00:55:55] We'll have to look.

[00:55:56] Yeah, but I have to go back.

[00:55:57] But season three is going to be book ended with the close up on Ted.

[00:56:02] Um, that is awesome in a completely different state of mind.

[00:56:06] Right.

[00:56:07] I think that's what we said home and happy with Henry.

[00:56:10] I mean, he's with Henry in both instances too.

[00:56:13] Oh, that's true.

[00:56:14] He is.

[00:56:15] He's with Henry in both cases because he's with him in the airport in the premiere and in the

[00:56:19] and he's with him at the soccer game.

[00:56:21] He's the coach of the set next to him.

[00:56:22] I wouldn't say that he's with Henry in the beginning, but in the end he is with Henry coaching

[00:56:27] him.

[00:56:28] Yeah, he's coaching he's coaching his soccer team.

[00:56:30] Yep.

[00:56:31] At home.

[00:56:32] And he gets a call of soccer.

[00:56:34] Yes.

[00:56:35] It's true.

[00:56:36] Um, no threat crime this episode.

[00:56:40] I know, I know, I know, I know, but I just, I was sad.

[00:56:45] And there's a new, a new threat crime, the independent.

[00:56:49] I'm trying to see when we get.

[00:56:52] I think we get him next episode.

[00:56:54] I think he is next episode.

[00:56:55] I think he comes back.

[00:56:57] Um, I think next episode is the episode where we're going to find out that he uh,

[00:57:03] he's got to write a book.

[00:57:05] I can't wait.

[00:57:06] I fucking love Trent crime this season.

[00:57:09] I do too.

[00:57:10] He's my favorite part about this season.

[00:57:12] He really is.

[00:57:13] I, he, his, his character is so interesting.

[00:57:17] Interesting.

[00:57:18] Important to the story in this season two because like he, he's important to Colin.

[00:57:25] This season, he's important to Ted.

[00:57:27] He's important to beard.

[00:57:28] He, the shit that happens with him in Roy this season is like, I can't wait to get into

[00:57:36] the trend.

[00:57:37] I agree.

[00:57:38] I agree.

[00:57:39] And you know what?

[00:57:40] He really proves to be important in the previous seasons as well.

[00:57:44] Yeah.

[00:57:45] I mean he's the, he's the reason why he, he's the reason why he like Nate is where he is.

[00:57:51] I think, you know, he did that huge piece on Ted and his anxiety.

[00:57:56] But he gave that, he gave that nod to Ted like, hey, this is going to be out in the news.

[00:58:01] You need to know this and he lets him get ahead of it.

[00:58:04] Yeah.

[00:58:05] You know, and then in the first season he writes that, that article about Ted saying like,

[00:58:11] he is absolutely the wrong person for this job, but I can't help but root for him.

[00:58:15] And he is the one reporter out of everybody that actually takes the time to get to know Ted.

[00:58:21] Yes.

[00:58:23] Which is, which is going to come back because that is what his objective is in the third and the season.

[00:58:30] Yeah.

[00:58:31] And you're right.

[00:58:32] Something special.

[00:58:33] And he does come in next episode.

[00:58:35] Yes.

[00:58:36] I can't wait.

[00:58:37] So I only have one other thing.

[00:58:39] And that's Henry is proving to be Ted's reason.

[00:58:48] I don't know if reason is the right word, but that he remains open minded about Nate.

[00:58:53] Because at the very end of this episode, he's like, just because he's not on the team anymore,

[00:59:00] doesn't mean that you can't still be friends and Ted has to remember that he's a father.

[00:59:05] You know, and that when he's up in those press conferences, Henry's watching.

[00:59:10] When he's on the on the sidelines of the pitch during the games, Henry's watching.

[00:59:16] He knows that Henry is always watching him.

[00:59:19] So I think that that Henry proves to be a catalyst for Ted going on this healing journey when it comes to Nate,

[00:59:29] that at the end, he is accepting of Nate coming back to the team.

[00:59:32] And a lot of that has to do with the fact that Henry keeps him humble, keeps him honest, keeps him from going down the hate spiral that beard obviously has gone down.

[00:59:45] Well, not only that too, but let's not forget there is a point this season.

[00:59:49] And I do remember this there is a point this season where when Henry comes to visit and I think it's the episode where they go to the game,

[00:59:56] they go to a West Ham United game.

[00:59:58] Yeah. And it's cheer him on and they're wearing West Ham clothing.

[01:00:02] Yeah. It's Ted Henry and beard go to a West Ham game.

[01:00:06] Are you sure beard went?

[01:00:07] I think beer. I think beard is with him.

[01:00:09] Beard hates Nate. Are you sure?

[01:00:12] Um, maybe I don't know.

[01:00:15] There's no way you could get beard in that stadium.

[01:00:19] No, because I think beard goes to scout.

[01:00:23] I think we're going to have to see.

[01:00:25] Yeah. Again, there's a lot about the season that I don't remember.

[01:00:28] I know for sure, Ted and Henry go to a West Ham United game.

[01:00:33] Well, if beard goes, he better stay in AFC Richmond.

[01:00:36] I thought I thought beard was there. Maybe I'm wrong.

[01:00:40] I just don't see it with the hate that he has for Nate, but he does.

[01:00:44] But as much as he hates Nate, he loves Ted the same amount.

[01:00:52] Um, you know what I mean?

[01:00:54] Oh, no beard is there.

[01:00:55] Crazy.

[01:00:56] I'm looking at it now.

[01:00:58] I see beard is in AFC Richmond colors and the other two are in West Ham, right?

[01:01:04] I mean, Henry is wearing West Ham.

[01:01:08] Ted is just wearing a jacket.

[01:01:11] Ted's like, I'm Switzerland in this moment.

[01:01:16] Looking at, I'm looking at the scene now he is.

[01:01:20] Henry is wearing West Ham so he is supporting Nate beard is stoic as usual wearing AFC Richmond colors.

[01:01:28] Sunglasses and hat and all.

[01:01:31] And Ted is wearing his puff jacket with like khaki pants.

[01:01:39] So he is not showing colors of either side, but you have to figure there are people there that know who he is.

[01:01:46] Which is probably why he didn't wear either.

[01:01:49] True.

[01:01:50] Beards like beard don't care.

[01:01:53] Yeah, no beard don't care.

[01:01:55] Anyways, I just thought if it weren't for Henry, I think that Nate's journey wouldn't have taken him back to AFC Richmond.

[01:02:08] I agree and it's almost like Henry kind of predicted that it was going to happen.

[01:02:13] Yeah, he said, excuse me, why is he up in the stands?

[01:02:16] He still needs to be a part of this team.

[01:02:20] Yeah.

[01:02:21] Well, it's that whole like any time a child tells you something, you know, most of the time it's true.

[01:02:29] Yeah.

[01:02:30] You know, when it comes to stuff like that, when it comes to like, you know, who ate the ice cream?

[01:02:35] They usually lie.

[01:02:36] But when it comes to stuff like that, like when it pertains to life, especially adult situations, kids tell you how they see it.

[01:02:44] And that's how Henry sees it.

[01:02:46] Nate is still a part of Ted's life.

[01:02:50] And you know, like you said, like you can still be friends, can't you?

[01:02:55] So before we leave spoiler territory, we forgot to play this last week.

[01:03:02] I was just saying don't forget this time.

[01:03:04] Nope, I remember this time, I made a note of it.

[01:03:08] Greg left us a voice mail last week for spoilers about inverting the Pyramid of success, which was the season two finale.

[01:03:15] So before we leave spoiler territory, we're going to play this now to see what Greg had the same at that.

[01:03:20] So let's play that.

[01:03:21] Good evening.

[01:03:23] This is Greg.

[01:03:24] All right.

[01:03:25] So we are on inverting the pyramid.

[01:03:28] Is that what this one's called?

[01:03:30] So this one's for spoilers.

[01:03:33] I just wanted to talk a little bit and respond to, you know, Kristen's viewpoint of.

[01:03:43] The view point of just being the major messed up of the show in the writing of the story with regard to breaking up Roy and Keeley.

[01:03:56] I think you could look at it from the point of view of you can still have Roy and Keeley together and being great and, you know, everything.

[01:04:09] I think, Keeley, and using the, what was it with the concept of, you know, a woman's place is only, or a woman's point in the plot is only two further a man's own personal growth.

[01:04:25] Like, you can look at it from that point of view.

[01:04:29] I also think that if what they wanted to do was address a different version of mental health and or mental illness or mental anxiety or frustration or whatever by going through Roy's.

[01:04:52] His, his arc right is his mental health arc.

[01:04:57] What I've, what I've noticed a lot in this rewatch is that you've got several different archetypes of mental health or lack thereof from, you know, post divorce Rebecca and revenge to post divorced head and anxiety.

[01:05:18] We've got Roy who, you know, goes from a very shut down and open or rather started shut down and emotionally closed off man to, you know, by the end of the, of the series.

[01:05:36] He's just like he's advancing, right? He's wearing colors.

[01:05:42] He's, you know, Jamie going from a very confident cock to a very confident, decent person.

[01:05:53] I think good teammates. I think he really, you know, obviously, you know, from beginning of the series to the end of the series, he makes amazing huge strides.

[01:06:02] You know, Sam is becoming better and better. And it's, it's just I think that this is the story they wanted to tell. They wanted to tell a story of, you know, how Roy got his mojo back.

[01:06:17] And I think they planted the seeds for it, not just in the Miss Bowen episode. But in this one where, you know, he's she just looks so powerful, so strong.

[01:06:31] Like I didn't even need to be there. She would just be better off without me and that self doubt coming in and while maybe they could have gone about a better way.

[01:06:45] You know, I, this is the story that I wanted to tell him. I can appreciate their story for it. Anyway, all right. I'll onto not squirre there stuff in a bit. All right.

[01:06:56] Like.

[01:06:58] I was almost ready for him to say, I was always waiting for him to say Jamie was this, you know, this cock and now he's a better cock.

[01:07:09] You're muted.

[01:07:11] Now he's just poop it.

[01:07:13] Now he's just poop it.

[01:07:16] But thanks for that Greg.

[01:07:18] He does work color. He does work color. He wears a tight eye shirt.

[01:07:22] Remember?

[01:07:23] Oh, that's right.

[01:07:24] We can bring him.

[01:07:26] Yeah, he wears the tight eye shirt.

[01:07:27] And I think that's in like the third to last episode.

[01:07:34] Remember because Chris is like, what?

[01:07:37] Oh, I know we talked about that.

[01:07:39] I think we talked about that in spoilers.

[01:07:41] Oh, I just want to watch all of Trent Crim right now.

[01:07:47] I said during the Game of Thrones rewatch podcast when I did it.

[01:07:51] I was like, I'm going to say that I wanted somebody to take all of Arya's scenes and just like edit them all together for me so that I could just see Arya's like journey.

[01:08:00] I'd like someone to do the same for me for Trent Crim.

[01:08:03] We're back out of spoilers now.

[01:08:07] So welcome back to everybody before we do quotes on everything.

[01:08:10] You just mentioned Game of Thrones.

[01:08:12] Going back to my conversation with my with my buddy Chris when he was talking about like different shows to talk is like, have you guys considered doing Game of Thrones?

[01:08:19] I was like, no, no, no.

[01:08:21] I think Kristen cannot rewatch Game of Thrones ever again.

[01:08:25] Nope. He's like, oh, he's like, why not? It's a great show.

[01:08:28] I'm like the last season.

[01:08:29] I think ruined it.

[01:08:30] Ruin the entire show for her.

[01:08:32] Yep.

[01:08:33] I think she loves House of the Dragon.

[01:08:35] Yeah.

[01:08:36] Which there are trailers for the new season.

[01:08:38] Still haven't seen him.

[01:08:40] I don't think you will either will you?

[01:08:42] Probably not.

[01:08:43] Yeah, because you podcast on it.

[01:08:45] Yeah.

[01:08:46] It's nice, but apparently there are two trailers and they're in a black trailer.

[01:08:51] Yep.

[01:08:52] Exactly. I haven't watched them yet either.

[01:08:54] So you know, I know the story.

[01:08:58] I know how it ends.

[01:08:59] I just like, do I really want to do this?

[01:09:03] Do we really want to do this?

[01:09:05] Really?

[01:09:06] Because there's no happy ending.

[01:09:08] I mean, if you've watched Game of Thrones, you kind of know that there's no happy ending.

[01:09:15] So I don't know.

[01:09:16] We'll see.

[01:09:17] Yeah, because you kind of you already know the backstory.

[01:09:21] Yep.

[01:09:22] Of what House of the Dragon is about when you go into Game of Thrones.

[01:09:25] There is no surprise.

[01:09:28] So quotes for this episode.

[01:09:32] I just poop it.

[01:09:33] It's just poop it.

[01:09:35] Um, remember, it's just poop.

[01:09:40] Um, I only have two.

[01:09:43] Um, one of them is that the guys outside of the sewer, when he's like, is that Roy Kent?

[01:09:49] I don't know.

[01:09:50] Roy Kent, is that you get fucked?

[01:09:54] That's him.

[01:09:57] And the other quote I have is literally four words and I felt it so hard when she said it.

[01:10:06] When Kayleigh says fuck you Joe Rogan.

[01:10:09] Oh, yes.

[01:10:10] 100%.

[01:10:11] When she says that, I was like, oh, yes.

[01:10:15] What there was also another really cool quote that I can't remember.

[01:10:20] I should have written it down, but it's like doubt is cured by action for something like that.

[01:10:27] Um, let me see.

[01:10:28] Do you know what I'm talking about?

[01:10:30] I remember.

[01:10:31] Yeah, I remember what you're talking about.

[01:10:32] Let me see if I can find.

[01:10:35] See, I don't know if it's not going to fucking.

[01:10:38] There we go.

[01:10:40] Nope, that doesn't work.

[01:10:43] I'm using a different browser and it works weird.

[01:10:49] Um, I don't know how to find on page with this anymore.

[01:10:54] So I don't know exactly what the, uh, what the quote is.

[01:10:58] I don't know if it's not going to work.

[01:11:01] I don't know if it's going to work.

[01:11:04] But it was something like that.

[01:11:06] It was like the way to alleviate doubt is through action.

[01:11:09] It was something like that.

[01:11:10] And I just thought that that was like.

[01:11:13] Something I could like put on my board.

[01:11:16] You know, there we go.

[01:11:18] Um, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, Dr. Sharon says it.

[01:11:21] Well, as the man once said, doubt can only be removed by action.

[01:11:24] Yes, doubt can only be removed by action.

[01:11:26] I mean, I think that's a really good mantra for anybody who is unsure.

[01:11:34] Well, I mean, it almost goes, it kind of plays into the whole action speak louder than words.

[01:11:39] Kind of thing.

[01:11:41] You know, uh, any other quotes from you on your end?

[01:11:47] No.

[01:11:48] Okay.

[01:11:49] Uh, so then with that being said, we're going to dive into the feedback section of the podcast in which we have a couple.

[01:11:55] Um, we have another one from Greg that we're going to play first.

[01:12:00] Because this one goes back to the signal.

[01:12:03] This is one he has been trying to send us for weeks now.

[01:12:06] And apparently it just never came through for some reason.

[01:12:08] He sent it one time a couple weeks ago and it was nothing but empty.

[01:12:12] There was nothing there.

[01:12:13] It was just minutes of silence.

[01:12:16] Um, let's hope that's not the case this time because I haven't played it so I don't know.

[01:12:21] However, this is the final we've been playing a lot of backlog from Greg over the past couple weeks.

[01:12:28] So much so that last week we joked that he was our guest host for the episode.

[01:12:32] He was our guest host.

[01:12:34] Um, this is the last one.

[01:12:36] He does leave one for this episode as well, but he has caught up after we play this one from the signal which is good.

[01:12:42] Uh, so we'll play that first before we get into the feedback from this episode and see what he has to say.

[01:12:47] I think this is this has to do with the differences of coaching style between Roy and Nate.

[01:12:52] I'm not okay.

[01:12:53] So let's play it now.

[01:12:55] Hello.

[01:12:57] Revisited.

[01:12:58] This is Greg.

[01:12:59] Apparently my last voicemail or one of my was compilou blank.

[01:13:04] And so not sharing my thoughts with you.

[01:13:07] Uh, I don't know.

[01:13:09] A little irritating that I got that word anyway.

[01:13:13] Uh, what I was discussing specifically was Nate's coaching style, i.e. being a prick versus Roy's coaching style.

[01:13:25] We've addressed the fact that Roy is a former football player.

[01:13:31] He knows the physics beyond it.

[01:13:34] How many times has a, uh, a sweltering baseball hitter gone through a period of man like,

[01:13:42] I mean, he's just not off my mechanics are aren't aren't right.

[01:13:46] Whatever the case is but the so the coach who has played the game.

[01:13:52] Uh, he can say hey, calm.

[01:13:55] Keep your linear head back too far back.

[01:13:58] Keep your head down and just fucking with it.

[01:14:02] That's great.

[01:14:03] That is absolutely necessary for like a strength and conditioning coach, a hitting coach or.

[01:14:11] A physics coach.

[01:14:14] But that's not what made it.

[01:14:17] Nate who has seen, uh, coaches from all levels grown up with the game.

[01:14:25] He sees he assumes that these are professionals.

[01:14:29] He's made comments on it several times.

[01:14:32] Hey, let's just show Danny how big is god damn paycheck is.

[01:14:35] Oh, what, what position does your mother play for the club?

[01:14:38] They are, they are, they're supposed to be professionals and for the basics of a sport which is, you know, a ball is coming kick it in a direction.

[01:14:49] They should be able to accomplish that.

[01:14:51] And so he addresses each failure of say, for example, Colin as a how are you unable to accomplish the very bassist portion of your job?

[01:15:04] If I was, if I did, if as a coach, I didn't know the game.

[01:15:09] I said, I may be fired very quickly but Ted brings something else to the table.

[01:15:17] But Nate is he's, you know, he sees all of these things and he is treating these professionals in a negative way.

[01:15:29] Negative feedback and some people respond to it.

[01:15:32] But he is giving them feedback as professionals.

[01:15:36] Hey, that was a good cross but they doesn't mean anything if you didn't kick it in the goal.

[01:15:42] Again, not necessarily defensive Nate because I'm not a big really, really big on negative feedback coaching or parenting or whatever.

[01:15:51] But, you know, it is what it is.

[01:15:55] You are what emulate what you see and what you experience and that is what Nate has seen his entire life.

[01:16:01] It's all been negative reinforcement.

[01:16:05] We saw it beginning in that episode of the signal when he, I wait no, that was the other one.

[01:16:12] At the beginning of, I think Ted space, we saw it where, you know, hey, look at everything in the paper and then his dad's like, oh, you know, being humble is not thinking less of yourself but thinking about yourself less.

[01:16:29] Well, that's negative reinforcement of his behavior.

[01:16:33] Hey, don't do that. Colin, don't do that.

[01:16:37] Don't, don't miss the kick or whatever.

[01:16:40] Anyway, I kept it almost as long this time. Hopefully it's not you.

[01:16:46] Kristen, would you like to comment?

[01:16:54] Okay.

[01:16:57] I mean yes, but I don't want to shit all over Greg.

[01:17:04] I just think that.

[01:17:07] Okay, so well, all right.

[01:17:12] So go ahead.

[01:17:14] No, please, I'm doing a great job so far.

[01:17:17] I think there's, I can see the point that Greg is trying to make but I think there's a line that Nate crosses in the way that he does things.

[01:17:26] There's a difference between negative reinforcement and constructive criticism and Nate leans way heavier on the, on the negative reinforcement.

[01:17:35] I think a good had we listened to this voicemail a couple weeks ago when he first tried to send it.

[01:17:43] I think maybe we would have leaned more towards Greg's way of thinking now, but it, but this episode.

[01:17:50] Sorry.

[01:17:51] However, sorry Greg.

[01:17:53] However, from what we see of Nate's coaching style in this episode now that he is the head coach of West Ham United with the whole dumb dumb line thing.

[01:18:02] No, there's

[01:18:05] what he does is wrong. His coaching style is wrong.

[01:18:09] I think and I think that we've known that from the very beginning.

[01:18:12] And that's a great speech that he first gives when he's roasting everybody during that one half time.

[01:18:19] But we get a really good idea of what Nate can be like if you take his leash off and I'm sorry to be crass with that analogy or that metaphor, but I mean it's

[01:18:33] when he was getting promoted to coach, he told off Rebecca like no fear told off Rebecca called her fucking shrew.

[01:18:41] Yeah.

[01:18:42] And then we see him with he says show him how big his paycheck is and then we see him say, what position does your mother play?

[01:18:50] You know, I mean, we see exactly who he is and the kind of coach he would be and the kind of person that he is underneath his loving insecurity.

[01:19:00] I'm so sorry. I don't know. Fuck you, dude. You're dick.

[01:19:04] Well, not only that, but like it's one thing to treat the team that way, but when he starts coming in saying like you'd be a form not to use my play to

[01:19:13] get in front of Ted and beard and Roy. No, you have crossed a line at that point.

[01:19:19] Right. 100%. I just I don't

[01:19:25] I don't really see that aspect or I don't see Nate from the perspective that Greg is seeing him, but Greg is a lot more forgiving than I am.

[01:19:39] He has proved that over the course of all of his voicemails that he is a very forgiving person and I just I have no patience for assholes.

[01:19:51] Yeah, which makes me wonder how you and I have podcasted so long because you're not an asshole.

[01:20:01] My way of being tongue in cheek and making fun of myself. I know you and my husband are very alike and that.

[01:20:08] But I mean, even like the whole going to the roast thing like when he does that in the locker room, like that was a moment that was taken very tongue in cheek.

[01:20:17] I mean, I was saying it was true, but they kind of took it as a roast. They were laughing about it and everything.

[01:20:22] It's completely different when it is drilled into you constantly as a form of negative reinforcement.

[01:20:30] You can only do that so much before it becomes tedious and it becomes looked at as in it's downgrading you as a person and as a player.

[01:20:43] The things that he is doing to people like Colin and to Jamie and all these other people.

[01:20:48] It's one thing to do them as a player, but eventually when it's all you're getting, it's going to kill your self-esteem.

[01:20:57] It's doing more damage than harm.

[01:21:00] Colin has to tell himself he's not a piece of shit over and over and over again. Do you know that something's going wrong?

[01:21:07] Look at Nate himself.

[01:21:09] Right.

[01:21:10] All the negative comments and the negative reinforcement he got from Jamie and Colin and Maccadu and his dad and his dad, all his life is become look at the person he has become because of that.

[01:21:23] Right.

[01:21:25] So maybe he's not a person.

[01:21:27] So maybe reinforcement is not is no.

[01:21:30] So maybe he thinks that Ted abandoned him because Ted was not negative to him and so he felt ignored by when it is look, I look I'm going to relate this to my own personal life again too.

[01:21:44] I came from a household where when I lived with my estranged father, I came from a household where the only way to get attention was to yell right that's the kind of household I came from and it took me so long to break that.

[01:22:02] Because it was doing more damage than harm, not just within my own home and within my family but to myself, to my friendships to everything.

[01:22:11] It was doing more damage than good and it takes you a while to break that and the only way to break that is to get away from it.

[01:22:22] And my life is so much better now because of it and that's kind of very similar to how Nate is Nate has grown up with nothing, nothing but negative reinforcement and even whether it's his personal life or his career he has been surrounded by negative reinforcement and look at the person it has made him become right.

[01:22:42] So I see where Greg is coming from but there's a point where it crosses a line and Nate has crossed that line right yeah.

[01:22:53] Well, yeah Nate is a boat without a rudder

[01:22:59] and a sail or a sail. Right. He's directionless right now.

[01:23:04] Well, he's not directionless, he got picked up by a big mean evil ship.

[01:23:10] He's being towed in the wrong direction. Yes, look at us we're amazing.

[01:23:16] Analogies but no, but I appreciate again, you know, Greg making the point so Greg I appreciate that.

[01:23:26] So I think we just see it a little differently.

[01:23:28] Why don't we totally disagree with you? We love the fact that you put yourself out there for us. Thanks dude.

[01:23:37] Let's continue on though with the feedback from this episode, the feedback for this episode in which we have two more voice mails and two pieces from social media and email where do you want to start first?

[01:23:49] Let's do the email from Dave.

[01:23:51] Okay.

[01:23:53] I'm going to read it. Go ahead.

[01:23:57] Hello, Ben, Kristen and Aurora. Oh, my cat. Yeah, he loves he loves Aurora.

[01:24:05] Great start to the season. There is a lot happening here. First a quick jump back to your coverage of season two episode 10.

[01:24:11] The funkelpop of Jeremy Paul and Baz has to be has to include each of them holding a boot from the pub.

[01:24:19] And then we have the next episode of the season three.

[01:24:20] Rebecca is way too invested in what the experts are predicting for her club. Trust the process, trust Ted.

[01:24:26] Rupert is really leaning into the villain persona with the go T and the palpaton throne room vibes. Did he have the go T in season two?

[01:24:35] Nate is a class A despicable douchebag.

[01:24:39] Jamie is emerging as a leader. It's just poop.

[01:24:43] Ted is enjoying the crisp air up on the high road. He is such a good dude.

[01:24:48] Roy and Keeley's breakup was not only a terrible idea on paper, but it was so badly written into the actual show such a shit idea and shit execution.

[01:24:57] Thank you. Agreed. Can't wait to hear your breakdown of the episode. Cheers Dave.

[01:25:02] Yeah.

[01:25:03] God. Did he put the meow at the end or did you know? I did it.

[01:25:08] Yeah.

[01:25:11] Yeah, so you know, I, I, oh, sorry, my allergies, my nose is itchy. I'm trying to prevent not sneezing.

[01:25:20] Aurora.

[01:25:22] Don't well, she can't hear you. You have headphones on.

[01:25:28] And don't get her started in the way. She's been she's been relatively quiet this entire episode.

[01:25:34] No, I'm looking forward to where we're going now.

[01:25:39] And I agree the Jeremy, Baz and Paul Funko pops, which need to happen.

[01:25:46] They need to exist all on a bar so that they're all together in one piece.

[01:25:52] Well, you know what's funny too is like they do make fun copops that are kind of like that.

[01:25:56] They come like pieces. They're individuals, but you put them together and they form a scene.

[01:26:01] So you want to see Jeremy, Baz and Paul with the bar and May.

[01:26:06] Yes.

[01:26:07] Behind the bar.

[01:26:08] I have a game of thrones one that's huge Funko pop and it's of Daenerys and Drogon.

[01:26:15] And it's big and it's awesome.

[01:26:18] I have a, I have a set up. It's on a shelf in my living room.

[01:26:23] It's six pieces so they were six individual Funko pops that I had the Bob.

[01:26:28] And when you put them together, it's the Avengers sitting at the table eating Shorma.

[01:26:33] Love it from the end of the first Avengers movie.

[01:26:37] But it's great.

[01:26:38] It has to be like this covering up the years.

[01:26:41] Right. He has to be covering up his beard.

[01:26:43] But it's all of the Avengers sitting around the table eating Shorma.

[01:26:47] It's fantastic. It's one of my favorite Funko box.

[01:26:50] Like I said, it was six different pieces that they kind of released individually like overtime,

[01:26:56] like at the buy one, then like a month or two later they released the next one.

[01:27:00] So it was a, it was a time to finish it but it's great now that it's done.

[01:27:05] Yeah.

[01:27:06] I want to see the same thing with Jeremy Baz Paul and May.

[01:27:09] Yes.

[01:27:10] Funko get on this.

[01:27:11] Yes, please.

[01:27:12] It would be great.

[01:27:14] Or even you know what?

[01:27:16] Or even another one.

[01:27:17] Do like an AFC Richmond team photo scene with all the different players when you put them all together.

[01:27:24] You saw the picture I said you're right.

[01:27:26] I turned it into a actual work of art because it is.

[01:27:33] Last feeling melancholy or Makadou gives Sam a haircut.

[01:27:39] That'd be another fun one too.

[01:27:41] Yeah.

[01:27:42] Because then you need like Jan Mas and Colin and everybody.

[01:27:46] Yeah.

[01:27:47] Do you want to keep going with the social media or do you want to play a voice mail?

[01:27:52] Yeah.

[01:27:53] I definitely want to keep going with the social media or something like that.

[01:27:57] We'll do Lindsay.

[01:27:59] Okay.

[01:28:00] Okay.

[01:28:02] So this is from Lindsay Schlicht.

[01:28:05] Hate to see Rebecca backpedaling and getting all wrapped up in Rupper's crap again.

[01:28:09] It almost feels like season one Rebecca.

[01:28:12] Lindsay it's like we're one mind sometimes.

[01:28:16] I can't remember how this goes but I hope it ends soon.

[01:28:18] by a twat-like rupert. It's okay to say that we're talking about a British show.

[01:28:25] I see Nate's as wonderful as ever, ignoring greetings from people and telling that guy to get out of

[01:28:30] his office, such a sad little snake. I wonder if they saw any irony in this little panic attack

[01:28:35] during the press meeting and what he did to Ted? Probably not. It's so hard for me to understand

[01:28:40] why spitting makes him feel powerful. It's so disturbing. I absolutely love that Ted's kind nature

[01:28:47] still won out in the end of this nasty situation. The way Jamie says, PoupƩ has to be my most favorite

[01:28:53] phrase of any show ever. I've been waiting months for this scene. My friends and I say PoupƩ all

[01:29:00] the time. I absolutely adore the weirdo accent Phil Dunster cave Jamie. And his hair is so bad.

[01:29:09] You have never been a fan of Jamie's hair? No, well this one's real bad. I mean it's parted

[01:29:14] down the middle and it's got brand new frosted highlights in it. I mean he really leaned into it

[01:29:24] Well, it's also funny too because we knew this but Greg sent us the link to an article about how

[01:29:30] like with with the PoupƩ thing a lot of this not just on this episode but constantly throughout

[01:29:36] the season. Phil Dunster's main objective was to try and get Brett Goldstein to break.

[01:29:42] So he would do a lot of these different things like he says originally in the script it was just PoupƩ

[01:29:48] but he changed it to PoupƩ because he wanted to throw the accent on and it was for to try and get

[01:29:55] Brett Goldstein to break. Right right right right that's what I would do. There was a video

[01:30:01] that I posted on Instagram. I shared it was it was Phil Goldstein and Phil Dunster together

[01:30:07] reminiscing about that about how Phil would constantly try and make a break and apparently there

[01:30:12] was a dance that Phil Dunster used to do and it was just a head dance because he asks Jamie to do

[01:30:20] it at the end of the video and the moment he starts doing it Brett just loses it and then

[01:30:25] Brett attempts to try it and fails miserably which makes Phil start laughing. I love both of them so

[01:30:34] much I can't wait till Amsterdam. Okay I know but thank you Lindsay for that as well.

[01:30:41] Thank you for always having my same opinion.

[01:30:47] Nice to be free to say that. I love a really good echo chamber.

[01:30:51] Nice of you to say that right after we got the voice mail from Greg about the signal. Yeah Greg

[01:30:55] uh but

[01:30:57] love you. Speaking of Greg we do have a voice mail from him for this episode. So he will be

[01:31:05] officially caught up. Yeah yeah for this week so he'll be caught up now at this point after this

[01:31:11] so let's play it now. Good morning this is Greg and I am trying to squeeze this in right before

[01:31:17] the deadline well maybe an hour before the deadline. Anyway smells like mean spirit that is

[01:31:25] an appropriate title specifically because of one of my points. All right so I know you guys are

[01:31:34] gonna cover a ton of awesome stuff and I'm just gonna talk about some of the things that I really

[01:31:40] enjoyed this is where I got my discussion of rhyming salutations where Rebecca asked no rhyming

[01:31:47] salutations and then also kind of ties back into that Henry A. M. N. Big Ben and Jamie Bingo

[01:31:56] El Ringo I really enjoyed those. Specific to London the couple of times I've been in London I've

[01:32:01] gone on some pretty cool tours including a London bridge like Jack the Ripper tour and there's

[01:32:07] so much history in London and in the UK that some of those historical tours are just phenomenal and

[01:32:14] they are all applicable and they are there's so much history there that there's just

[01:32:21] bigs for great storytelling and allegories to present day items sorry scenarios so speaking

[01:32:30] of present day scenarios I noticed in this episode we were a little bit more blatant about the

[01:32:37] political leanings of the show Henry refers to the political landscape and so from I think last

[01:32:47] episode when Keeley told or said fuck you Pierce Morgan today there's this episode she says fuck

[01:32:55] you Joe Rogan it's another callback that thought was cool so this version of Rebecca is hard

[01:33:03] to watch a little bit until she's often towards the end and let's Ted be Ted but

[01:33:09] but she's like angry Rebecca now so first first Rebecca was hurt and depressed and just trying

[01:33:15] to screw everybody Rebecca last season she was pretty good and then this season or at least

[01:33:22] this version of her is very angry so the you guys mentioned it in no way is in a funeral I think

[01:33:33] but the editing between the two confessions so I don't remember when that wet-up said that was

[01:33:38] but it was the kind of confession between Rebecca and Ted flashed him back and forth and did the same

[01:33:43] thing in the interview with Nate and down in the sewer with Ivor you know I have a question what the

[01:33:52] fuck are we doing here oh that was really neat another 90s reference what's the frequency Roy Kentiff

[01:34:02] and then later on I like Kenneth he's really you know plugged in so that was cool all right now Kate

[01:34:11] is calling for me and so I'm gonna cover my my callbacks we talked about the fuck you Joe Rogan

[01:34:20] beard preventing Ted from speaking to the players to let the other players do it I think this

[01:34:25] is the second or third time it's happened doc Sharon said that when Ted was uncomfortable he

[01:34:32] breaks out into like jokes or references specific to a 40-year-old bit of middle America and in here

[01:34:38] we got in his interview at the end field of dreams twin peaks doctor Phil so it was like I was like

[01:34:47] okay yeah cool and then the last one I've got is that for Nate Ted bought his suit and then

[01:34:55] rupert bought his car because he didn't have things appropriate to be able to do the job that he

[01:35:00] was there to do and on one final note as a father who literally put his son on a plane to go back

[01:35:10] to his home yesterday I felt Ted in the opening of the scene the breaking down of everything that you

[01:35:21] are that you were able to spend time with them doing it's hard and you do start to analyze your

[01:35:30] your life and what's going on and why things are the way they are so all right anyway okay look

[01:35:38] but hi Kate that's a good call to on Ted buying the suit and rupert buying the car I have that written

[01:35:48] down I thought that was amazing that shows how unprepared Nate is for everything for everything

[01:35:54] that he has done he has never been ready he's not because he hasn't earned it he hasn't you don't

[01:36:01] go from kit man to head coach in a year yeah yeah that's it's a it's a it's a big jump we talked

[01:36:09] about that a lot when that happened but just this is just further proof of it right yeah and

[01:36:17] that's too much car for him like remember when Sam told Colin that that was too much car for Sam

[01:36:24] Sam he's like I'm gonna drive my Tesla I like my Tesla smaller car but this is the car that I

[01:36:30] like that's the car for Sam right Colin has no business being in the car that he's in these are

[01:36:38] running for Rory but these are the people but Colin and Nate are very they're people that aren't

[01:36:45] maybe emotionally mature enough for the money that they've come into for the privilege that

[01:36:51] they've come into you know and getting that car getting the suit was a much better step from Ted

[01:36:59] that's hey you need a nice suit man it's time that you stop borrowing suits from your dad you

[01:37:05] need your own suit which I look as a male myself I complete every man should have it it doesn't have

[01:37:12] to be a thousand dollar suit but every man should own a suit of some kind even if it's a $50

[01:37:21] suit from Coles like right every man should own a suit right but because you never know when

[01:37:28] you're gonna need it Rupert gave him and really really expensive car that he really has no

[01:37:36] business driving is a it is a beautiful Bentley okay but yes well and that's also the big difference

[01:37:45] between Nate and Colin too is that Colin earned the Ferrari that's too much for him Nate didn't

[01:37:50] even earn that Bentley it was given to him it was given to him because Rupert couldn't stand to have

[01:37:56] Nate's car in his premiere parking lot wasn't because of Nate it was just what the optics were

[01:38:07] now do you think Rupert knew that was Nate's car when he was getting ready to have a towed

[01:38:14] or do you think that was all no he didn't he had no idea he just saw an i-score

[01:38:19] i saw him decided they get rid of it I mean that if if that's not Rupert in a nutshell I don't know

[01:38:25] what is yeah that's true okay fair enough so but thank you Greg we're gonna get to that damn village

[01:38:37] at some point I can't I think Greg even said in the chat well I think you want to come I think

[01:38:43] yeah I think he said can I tag along for that trip no yes the last piece of feedback we have comes

[01:38:50] from Alex hopefully Steve will return next week he's been on a extended vacation he went on a

[01:38:57] cruise around New Zealand and I was like oh I was so jealous of his trip because you got to meet

[01:39:02] on win too well and it's summer where he was yeah I saw pictures of like the food he was eating and

[01:39:10] ever I'm like oh god so but Steve we miss your feet back so it's time to come back I missed my

[01:39:17] life steving it's time to come home but our five of pieces of feedback comes from Alex so let's play

[01:39:24] that now hey all Alex Kruger here leaving feedback for Ted Lasso season three premier smells like

[01:39:30] mean spirit much like Ted almost all of my sports education came from playing their video games

[01:39:36] I wasn't very athletic as a child and really I was apathetic to team sports but in high school

[01:39:40] I started playing football video games and learning the ins and outs same with baseball and basketball

[01:39:46] it might seem still silly but to those that didn't have a natural teacher or path to understanding the

[01:39:50] game video game tutelage is a legitimate educational tool tool to those that want to know more I really

[01:39:57] hated the friction Rebecca put between her and Ted this week she even called him coach Lasso at one

[01:40:02] point during her dressing down of him and I wasn't a fan of her asking Ted to take the low road

[01:40:07] but having said that when she stated that Richard Rupert was laughing at her I felt that I really did

[01:40:13] and it let me feel okay that Rebecca was kind of just going through something I remember on first

[01:40:18] watch being very unsure the direction season three was going to go after I watched this episode

[01:40:23] now before we get into the evil empire I just want to say if Darryl Dixon thought Lori Grimes

[01:40:28] was olive oil just wait till he sees Rupert's new assistant there were many obvious examples of Nate

[01:40:34] being an absolutely insufferable jerk at West Ham but one that might fly into the radar is

[01:40:39] Nate walks directly on the West Ham crest when entering the building that's a huge no no it's a

[01:40:45] very old school sports superstition but one that plenty of folks follow like not touching a conference

[01:40:49] championship trophy before the championship matches speaking of Nate nothing like a good sith

[01:40:54] analogy to show us who the big bad is this season Rupert is Palpatine and Nate is so clearly

[01:40:59] Vader let's discuss old Darth syphilis and his death star type office or the fact that he is seemingly

[01:41:05] treating Nate the same way he does his partners building them up giving them expensive gifts and heaps

[01:41:10] of praise but also making them feel small and not on his level like when he purposely as Nate's

[01:41:15] beater car toad while Nate is in his office remarking it must belong to the cleaners he knew it was

[01:41:21] Nate's car he most likely had them wait to tow until Nate was precisely in his office

[01:41:26] he even wanted Nate to feed the hate as he entered his press conference and wanted to trash Richmond

[01:41:32] on a lighter note i loved how Jamie further cemented his status as a leader on the team by trying to

[01:41:36] keep everyone spirits up when you think back to the old one kit one team and giving Danny the final

[01:41:42] kick of last season he really is stepping into a role he will undoubtedly fill excellently

[01:41:46] and i like that it's not like he's trying to be the captain he's just trying to lead the men around him

[01:41:52] it's what makes the arrival of nope you know what i'm gonna save that for next week

[01:41:57] and lastly as a divorced parent there's nothing scarier than facing the fact that your child

[01:42:02] has a new parental figure in their life will this person have the same values will they push ideals

[01:42:07] and agendas that are contrary to your own on the kids will they be abusive in any way physically

[01:42:12] mentally or or worse even before Ted knows just who this new bow is the fact that he's an ocean

[01:42:19] away has to be terrifying i'm glad he still has his sessions with dr. Sharon because going through

[01:42:24] this part of a divorce absolutely sucks that's it for me this week looking forward to next week

[01:42:30] keep up the great work and as always we're the good guys michael i didn't know that about walking

[01:42:38] across the crest i didn't either but it makes sense it makes total sense that Nate is the one

[01:42:44] to do it without any disregard to to doing it i love the the the mention of olive oil when it comes

[01:42:55] to uh ruper's assistant and making the compares and and i'm really disappointed because they're

[01:43:03] remaking pop i in a live action and i don't think it needs to be done who's gonna play pop i

[01:43:08] they don't know yet probably Chris Pratt they choose him for everything these i don't know but

[01:43:13] robin Williams played pop by perfectly we don't need another prop i hey i'm with you homie

[01:43:18] yeah we don't need another prop i um we don't need a harry potter tv series but whatever what do i

[01:43:25] know there's a lot of stuff we don't need uh but i do need more ghost busters which i'm excited

[01:43:29] i'm actually going to see today um i need dune to be on streaming dune two you're gonna you're

[01:43:36] gonna be waiting a little while i just i want to watch them both back to back and i know the

[01:43:42] theaters aren't gonna do it there's too many other movies coming out for that stupid they should have

[01:43:48] done it at the beginning of the year like grown-ups like grown-ups okay um i do want to say though

[01:44:03] that Alex is actually going to be joining us next week yay i'm very excited so uh no feedback

[01:44:09] from Alex next week because he's gonna be a guest on the episode but we're gonna get Steve back

[01:44:13] right i hope so so Steve if you're listening we need you to fill the void we need your feedback back

[01:44:19] um watch he probably won't even be caught up with the podcast by the time he gets to this

[01:44:25] oh hear it like after we've already recorded it uh but i also do want to say too for those of

[01:44:29] you listening as soon as this episode releases and for people that leave feedback um

[01:44:35] the deadline for feedback is gonna be shorter next week because next week is Easter Sunday so

[01:44:41] whereas christinae usually record on Sundays we're not recording on Easter Sunday or recording a

[01:44:46] couple days yeah we're recording on friday before so usually we accept feedback up until Sunday morning

[01:44:53] right before we record um this week it's gonna be before friday so friday morning is gonna be the

[01:44:59] deadline for feedback and i'll post on social media a couple days earlier than i usually do

[01:45:04] to give people that extra time um but as always if you do want to leave feedback easiest ways

[01:45:12] to do that just go to the website revisitedpod.com there you'll find links on where to subscribe

[01:45:16] listen all that fun stuff or you can just email us directly feedback at revisitedpod.com

[01:45:23] and recommendations for the week anything you want to throw out there?

[01:45:28] no no yeah i don't have time for anything right now bad batch i mean bad batch is still great

[01:45:35] yeah i agree it's it's so good i'm so good and i'm yeah i'm so disappointed at sending

[01:45:44] me too i yeah um there's a lot i want to say about it but i'm not going to you know what i mean

[01:45:54] i yeah yeah i i i haven't watched it yet but i'm very interested there's a new series that just

[01:46:00] dropped on Netflix called three-body problem nope nope thanks so Benny often wise show

[01:46:07] i know i'm not fucking touching that with a 10-foot pole oh because of gamuthro and sorry

[01:46:12] fuck you guys sorry fair use my language absolutely not 110% fair enough um the other thing i'll say that

[01:46:22] i haven't watched yet but i'm really interested um the the roadhouse remake with Jake general

[01:46:28] good i think it looks pretty good and from what i hear it's actually a lot better than people expected

[01:46:35] it to be you know people don't give Jake jell and ho enough credit well people went into it with

[01:46:40] low expectations because it is a remake of a beloved 80s movie yeah and i look i'll i'm with a lot

[01:46:49] of people that a lot of remakes are unneeded uh but i saw the trailer for this one and i was like

[01:46:56] you know what i think it actually looks pretty i think it looks like it has potential

[01:47:01] and there are a number of people that are saying ripped he got jacked for this movie yeah he did

[01:47:09] he needs to go to a superhero movie right now while he's still in this condition well would have

[01:47:13] to be dc because he's already done marvel yeah stupid and he's stupid marvel he's just stupid i like

[01:47:21] him as a lecturer shut up no he was mysterious or mysterious mysterious yeah i like him as mysterious

[01:47:29] i think that was a really clever take on that character as a comic book fan and who knows the

[01:47:35] legitimacy of misterio i thought that was a great take on the character i didn't like it

[01:47:41] fair enough fair enough uh any final notes before we wrap no look i'm good uh i am as well so then

[01:47:52] in that case uh with that being said thank you as always for being a part of this community for

[01:47:56] listening subscribing all that you guys do next week's episode uh ted lasso season three episode

[01:48:03] two i don't want to go to Chelsea uh with i don't want to go to in parentheses um

[01:48:10] we get a break from Nate next episode and i think it's needed well because we also get some new

[01:48:17] blood to Richmond and we're gonna need the time we can't have both of them at the same time

[01:48:25] we're gonna need the time for the new blood to Richmond yep um but yeah so we get a break from Nate

[01:48:30] we get some new blood to aFC Richmond and we get the return of trend which were so exciting
