Note/correction: We looked it up, and it turns out that the teddy bear in one of the Yellowjacket’s bedrooms just kind of looks like Laura Lee’s bear, Leonard. But Leonard’s other eye is missing, and his nose is quite askew.

[00:00:00] You can think what you want.
[00:00:13] Apenion is the wilderness between knowledge and ignorance.
[00:00:18] Hey everybody welcome to the podcast I'm Basie.
[00:00:29] And I'm Daphne and I'm Penny and I'm Jenny.
[00:00:33] And this episode we're testing each other's Yellowjackets knowledge with some trivia
[00:00:37] about the show.
[00:00:38] It's been a while since we've podcasted.
[00:00:41] We want to podcast, we want to keep this going because we love the show so much but it's
[00:00:45] just been so busy.
[00:00:47] And we've been intending to do this trivia episode and now it's been like three months
[00:00:52] since I've even thought about Yellowjackets and we're about to test our detailed knowledge
[00:00:56] of the show.
[00:00:57] It's almost cruel.
[00:00:58] I think it's actually making it more entertaining.
[00:01:03] I may get zero right I'm afraid.
[00:01:05] Anyway, and I bet some of the listeners are like what are you talking about?
[00:01:07] I watch it every day.
[00:01:08] You guys are not true fans but before we get started I want to welcome Jenny back to
[00:01:13] the podcast.
[00:01:14] Jenny's really called in a lot but you were on last time for our episode about the movie
[00:01:18] Alive and so welcome back.
[00:01:21] Yes, I'm excited to be here.
[00:01:23] Cool.
[00:01:24] And I'm going to know everything.
[00:01:26] Yeah, she's going to kill us all and then never come on again.
[00:01:29] Okay.
[00:01:30] I'll just take a little bit of this to take over.
[00:01:33] You're going to cannibalize.
[00:01:35] Jenny that movie is coming out next month.
[00:01:37] Oh yeah.
[00:01:38] We've been waiting for it.
[00:01:40] So we may have to reconvene.
[00:01:41] Oh the opposite.
[00:01:42] The opposite.
[00:01:43] The other.
[00:01:44] Oh yeah, we got to have a lot of that.
[00:01:46] What is it again?
[00:01:47] It's a new version of Alive.
[00:01:49] It's like a it's a mixed connection.
[00:01:51] It's been in a language.
[00:01:52] Yeah.
[00:01:53] Does it have any buzz about the quality?
[00:01:56] Well, the guy behind it had done something really good.
[00:02:03] So that's good.
[00:02:05] I know.
[00:02:06] It's vague but that's what I look for you know I always look who's behind stuff.
[00:02:12] Because there's this new karate kid movie coming out when I love karate kid.
[00:02:15] I know it's silly but I love it and it's got Ralph Macho in it and also Jackie Chan.
[00:02:21] And I love the show Cobra Kai if you guys haven't watched that.
[00:02:23] It's way better than it has any right to be.
[00:02:26] But I love it so much.
[00:02:27] The writer of this new movie has nothing to do with Cobra Kai and he's only worked on
[00:02:31] crappy stuff and I'm like, oh they're cash in.
[00:02:34] And so yeah, it's disappointing.
[00:02:37] Yeah, we'll see.
[00:02:39] So the movie is called Society of the Snow and the director is J.A.
[00:02:44] Bayana and he did the Fallen Kingdom dress world Fallen Kingdom.
[00:02:50] He did the impossible which is a movie that Pagan I covered over on Run for Your Lives.
[00:02:55] It's one of our favorites.
[00:02:57] He did some episodes of Penny Dreadful and he did this great movie from 2007 called The
[00:03:03] Orphanage.
[00:03:04] It's a wonderful movie if you haven't seen it.
[00:03:07] It's fantastic.
[00:03:09] I have high hopes for this.
[00:03:13] I think it's going to be good and yeah, we talked about it when we covered a live and
[00:03:18] I think we're going to want to reconvene and talk about this one.
[00:03:21] Cool.
[00:03:22] All right.
[00:03:23] So we're going to do some trivia as I said just for fun.
[00:03:27] You guys feel free to play along with us and see if you know the answers.
[00:03:31] What we did is Jenny, Daphne and I have each come up with six yellow jackets trivia questions.
[00:03:39] Then we ran them by Penny so she can make sure that they seemed good and that there were
[00:03:44] no repeats.
[00:03:45] And so Penny's going to be the quiz master and ask us the questions.
[00:03:50] And so we're going to have three rounds and we'll take turns answering the questions
[00:03:53] in pairs.
[00:03:54] So for example when Penny's asking questions that I came up with then Daphne and Jenny
[00:03:58] will be taking turns answering those because I already know the questions and the answer
[00:04:02] and we'll do three rounds like that.
[00:04:04] If someone gets a question wrong then the other person in the pair gets a chance to steal.
[00:04:09] It's one point each.
[00:04:10] If there's any gray area as there can be sometimes trivia then Penny you'll be the final
[00:04:14] judge on who gets the point.
[00:04:17] I feel like you're fair and unbiased.
[00:04:22] And I'll keep score and yeah, so that's basically what we're doing.
[00:04:26] Then there's a little bit of news, yellow jacket related news and that will be done.
[00:04:30] Awesome.
[00:04:31] As quiz master, I've decided to do Jenny's questions first since she is our guest.
[00:04:38] Oh, that makes sense.
[00:04:40] So Jenny you can hang because these are going to go to Jason and Daphne alternately.
[00:04:46] I'm going to start with Daphne.
[00:04:49] Daphne.
[00:04:50] Like we're on Squid Game.
[00:04:52] Daphne and I just finished covering Squid Game the challenge.
[00:04:57] Nobody is going to die.
[00:04:59] I feel like it could be quized on Squid Game the challenge and I'd be able to answer the question.
[00:05:03] It's better.
[00:05:04] We're on it.
[00:05:07] All right.
[00:05:09] Is coach missing his left leg or his right leg?
[00:05:15] Okay, I have to ask is it his like from his perspective of the girls?
[00:05:22] It would be from his perspective.
[00:05:25] All right.
[00:05:26] It's his right leg, I believe.
[00:05:28] Dang, you're correct.
[00:05:30] I was like, if she gets this wrong, I'm pretty sure I'll be good for the steal.
[00:05:37] All right.
[00:05:38] Jason, what is the name of Vance Shop?
[00:05:43] Oh, shit.
[00:05:45] I knew it was his right leg.
[00:05:47] I can't remember.
[00:05:50] I know it was something clever and it had to do with the 90s, I believe.
[00:05:56] And pop culture.
[00:05:57] I can't remember.
[00:05:58] I don't know.
[00:05:59] All right.
[00:06:00] Daphne for the steal.
[00:06:02] I don't remember.
[00:06:04] Well, Jenny, you want to reveal it?
[00:06:09] It's called while you were streaming.
[00:06:12] Oh, okay.
[00:06:13] Like while you were filming.
[00:06:14] Because remember in that episode where she tells them the whole plot of while you were sleeping?
[00:06:19] Yeah.
[00:06:20] I know.
[00:06:21] I knew it was some 90s movie, but honestly the only thing that popped in my head was be kind
[00:06:31] rewind.
[00:06:32] It's not like the big cut of it.
[00:06:36] It's been a long week.
[00:06:38] Oh yeah.
[00:06:39] All right, Daphne, maybe this one will be easier.
[00:06:41] I hope so.
[00:06:43] In whose bedroom does Leonard the Bear appear in episode 1?
[00:06:51] That would be Callie's bedroom, correct?
[00:06:54] I hope.
[00:06:55] No.
[00:06:56] No.
[00:06:57] Jason for the steal.
[00:06:58] Episode 1.
[00:06:59] Leonard the Bear.
[00:07:00] Oh no, what a grouse.
[00:07:01] Oh my gosh.
[00:07:02] I know what it is.
[00:07:03] If Jason can't get it, I'll go back to Daphne.
[00:07:08] Oh, is that a new role?
[00:07:10] Okay.
[00:07:11] Yeah, I'm making that a role right now.
[00:07:13] Is it Jackie's?
[00:07:15] It is Jackie's.
[00:07:16] That's a correct answer.
[00:07:19] One to one.
[00:07:20] One to one.
[00:07:21] All right, Jason.
[00:07:23] Who wears Laura Lee's dress to doom coming?
[00:07:27] Oh wow.
[00:07:29] Somebody wore Laura Lee's dress.
[00:07:32] That seems dark.
[00:07:35] I don't know so I'm just going to have to guess and I would guess Laughty.
[00:07:43] You got it.
[00:07:44] That's correct.
[00:07:45] Yay.
[00:07:46] They were close.
[00:07:48] So I think I thought Leonard the Bear belonged to Laura Lee.
[00:07:53] I know, but he shows he's in Jackie's room in that first episode.
[00:07:57] That's very weird.
[00:07:58] The camera pans.
[00:07:59] I know what he's like almost the first thing you see because the camera pans over her
[00:08:05] shelf and then to her bed where she's with her boyfriend on the shelf there's the bear.
[00:08:09] Which is weird.
[00:08:10] Oh, weird.
[00:08:11] That is so weird.
[00:08:12] Isn't that weird?
[00:08:13] So weird.
[00:08:14] And I love that the dress detail is so creepy.
[00:08:17] Yes.
[00:08:18] Yeah, it is.
[00:08:19] All right.
[00:08:20] Man.
[00:08:21] I'm on Daphne.
[00:08:22] Okay.
[00:08:23] What is Taisa's son's name?
[00:08:28] Okay.
[00:08:31] Told you I was brain dead when we started this.
[00:08:38] Um.
[00:08:45] I think this is great.
[00:08:46] I'm picturing our listeners like in their car being there screaming it out.
[00:08:52] Okay.
[00:08:53] Um, I think it's Sammy.
[00:08:55] Ding ding ding.
[00:08:56] That is correct.
[00:08:57] I'm sound of fuck.
[00:08:59] I don't.
[00:09:00] Again, I've not been in this world.
[00:09:04] So it's not as top of mind.
[00:09:07] I would never have gotten the teddy bear right because I thought for sure it was Laura Lee.
[00:09:12] Yeah.
[00:09:13] I would of too.
[00:09:14] That's it's crazy.
[00:09:15] All right.
[00:09:16] Oh, this is I've got Jason sex question is perfect for Jason.
[00:09:20] Oh dear.
[00:09:21] Okay.
[00:09:22] Jason.
[00:09:23] What is Matt drinking when he first meets Kelly?
[00:09:32] Some kind of cocktail.
[00:09:33] I'm in a need more specific.
[00:09:36] Oh no, no, yeah, I'm just thinking it out.
[00:09:39] I know they're at the bar.
[00:09:42] Matt's perfectly innocent.
[00:09:45] She comes over to flirt with them just walking it through my head.
[00:09:48] He's mining his own business.
[00:09:50] Um, I don't really know.
[00:09:54] Uh, I'll say gin and tonic.
[00:09:56] I don't know.
[00:09:57] Nope, definitely for the steel.
[00:10:00] Um, whiskey and coke.
[00:10:05] Nope.
[00:10:06] I have no clue.
[00:10:09] So, do you want to reveal?
[00:10:11] Um, it's a fireball.
[00:10:13] Oh, because he's a dish and that's a dish.
[00:10:18] I love fireballs.
[00:10:20] Oh, boy.
[00:10:21] I wonder your friends.
[00:10:23] My friends are drinking those all the time.
[00:10:26] I don't drink so yeah, I know it's in a fireball.
[00:10:31] It's like cinnamon.
[00:10:33] It's really sweet.
[00:10:35] Oh, gross.
[00:10:36] Okay, sorry.
[00:10:38] Sorry.
[00:10:39] All right, that's the end of round one.
[00:10:41] Okay, two to two is the final score.
[00:10:43] Oh man.
[00:10:44] All right.
[00:10:45] One one.
[00:10:46] High score.
[00:10:47] Respectively considering.
[00:10:49] I feel the same.
[00:10:50] All right, we're going to do Daphne's questions next.
[00:10:54] And so that means Jenny and Jason and Daphne you can stand by for the occasional reveal.
[00:11:00] All right, so I'll start with Jenny.
[00:11:04] Who cuts their hand to spill blood as an offering during Shana's labor?
[00:11:10] Oh, shhh.
[00:11:16] Somebody.
[00:11:19] Technically correct but not.
[00:11:22] Oh, I don't think it's.
[00:11:26] Is it van?
[00:11:29] Nope.
[00:11:30] Jason can you steal that?
[00:11:31] I don't know but it sounds like something Lottie would do.
[00:11:35] Neither.
[00:11:36] Daphne want to reveal that would be Travis.
[00:11:41] We talked about it a lot on the podcast.
[00:11:44] Remember, yeah, we were like, I believe it was Travis.
[00:11:47] Yeah, yeah, he never.
[00:11:49] Yeah, he bought into this.
[00:11:50] Was that yeah, hallucinated or was it something that actually happened?
[00:11:54] It actually was real.
[00:11:56] Yeah, yeah.
[00:11:58] Although with the show it can be fun.
[00:12:01] It could be anything.
[00:12:02] Mike, remember a lot of that episode was not real but that part was.
[00:12:06] All right, Jason what band did Natalie and Kevin bond over?
[00:12:13] Oh God.
[00:12:14] I remember they were in the bedroom.
[00:12:18] And her dad was a total asshole.
[00:12:22] And they were talking about.
[00:12:26] It's got to be it.
[00:12:30] It's got to be it.
[00:12:31] Man, I can't remember if it was a band I liked or not.
[00:12:36] I don't know radio head.
[00:12:38] Nope.
[00:12:39] Jenny, can you steal it?
[00:12:42] No, I can't remember.
[00:12:43] The only thing that's coming to mind is violent madness but I don't think that's what it was.
[00:12:47] No, wasn't.
[00:12:48] That'd be a good one.
[00:12:49] Yeah, I think it was.
[00:12:51] Well since they were teens in the 90s.
[00:12:55] Nirvana.
[00:12:56] Nirvana.
[00:12:57] That just seems so obvious though.
[00:12:58] They feel cooler to me than that.
[00:13:00] Except then Nirvana was cool.
[00:13:02] Yeah, Nirvana was cool thing.
[00:13:04] It was mainstream cool.
[00:13:05] I don't think they were mainstream.
[00:13:07] Were you like for.
[00:13:09] I think they didn't come to school.
[00:13:12] I don't think they were mainstream cool in 95.
[00:13:15] I think the mainstreaming happened.
[00:13:17] Oh no, I guess.
[00:13:18] Yeah, it was in early 90s.
[00:13:20] Yeah.
[00:13:21] Yeah.
[00:13:22] If I knew about them in Southern Ontario in 1995 then they were definitely mainstream.
[00:13:28] All right.
[00:13:29] It's Jenny's turn.
[00:13:31] What did Jackie give Shawna to help her calm down before boarding the plane?
[00:13:39] Oh, some kind of.
[00:13:43] Something that grown up stuck in the 90s.
[00:13:48] What was it?
[00:13:50] What was the drug of choice of housewives in 1995?
[00:13:54] Um.
[00:14:00] Were they taking Zanax then?
[00:14:03] Is that your answer?
[00:14:04] Sure.
[00:14:05] Nope.
[00:14:06] Jason, can you steal it?
[00:14:08] I don't know.
[00:14:09] I'm going to guess.
[00:14:10] I have two guesses but I have to only pick one so I'll say Ambian.
[00:14:14] Nope.
[00:14:15] Okay, let me tell you my second question.
[00:14:18] Yes, even though it doesn't count.
[00:14:20] Was it like a quailuit or something?
[00:14:22] I guess that would be like the 70s, right?
[00:14:24] Yeah.
[00:14:25] Yeah.
[00:14:26] It was valium.
[00:14:27] Oh.
[00:14:28] I find this fascinating because like Jason does this relational memory thing where he's like
[00:14:36] like, okay, they were in the bedroom and they have talked to each other.
[00:14:39] It doesn't work though.
[00:14:40] And then Jenny, you were like something housewives took in the 90s.
[00:14:43] I was like, that's just not how my brain works.
[00:14:46] No.
[00:14:47] You're right, though.
[00:14:48] Yeah, clearly.
[00:14:49] Yeah, clearly my brain doesn't work that way either.
[00:14:51] That's close.
[00:14:52] You were both close.
[00:14:53] There's too many drugs that housewives took in the 90s.
[00:14:56] Seriously.
[00:14:57] All right.
[00:14:58] So it's Jason's turn.
[00:14:59] All right, Jason.
[00:15:00] What is the name of a keyless pet mouse?
[00:15:06] It's a charcoal.
[00:15:07] No, I'm just kidding.
[00:15:08] Oh god.
[00:15:09] I don't remember.
[00:15:10] Descicated mummy.
[00:15:11] Yeah.
[00:15:12] It's such a sad story.
[00:15:13] We still don't know if that mouse was ever alive but we think probably not.
[00:15:20] Right?
[00:15:21] I'll say Phil.
[00:15:22] I don't know.
[00:15:23] Number 451, Jason.
[00:15:24] Is it that Phil?
[00:15:25] Okay.
[00:15:26] Yeah.
[00:15:27] Jenny, can you steal it from Jason?
[00:15:30] Nuggett.
[00:15:31] Oh yeah.
[00:15:32] I knew that.
[00:15:33] I got one point.
[00:15:35] I was joking around with someone the other day about being on Wednesday's Ed McMahon on cast
[00:15:44] of the rings and I just keep saying you are correct.
[00:15:47] Like a big man.
[00:15:48] Okay.
[00:15:49] Nuggett is a great name for.
[00:15:52] It's the perfect name for a pet mouse on this show that has a dark sense of humor.
[00:15:58] Yeah, it really is.
[00:16:00] They could have named it like hotel right because it's like a mummified mouse.
[00:16:05] Oh yeah.
[00:16:07] All right, Jenny.
[00:16:09] Yes.
[00:16:10] John Cameron Mitchell has a cameo as who in the episode burial or burial depending on where you're from.
[00:16:21] Who's John Cameron Mitchell?
[00:16:23] He is an actor who had a cameo in that episode.
[00:16:27] Ah.
[00:16:28] Well, I don't remember what happened burial except that it buried the baby.
[00:16:44] Oh, I don't know was he Paul the boyfriend?
[00:16:50] No.
[00:16:51] No.
[00:16:52] Jason for the steal.
[00:16:56] Yeah, what happens?
[00:16:58] I would think there wouldn't be any cameos in the wilderness timeline unless it was Paul.
[00:17:07] Because there's no one else.
[00:17:10] And I have no idea what was happening in the other timeline in that episode because burial is all
[00:17:18] about the baby and that's what stands out the most.
[00:17:22] But it would have been Shawna related because she was in the other.
[00:17:28] I don't know, was it the guy who was from Lottie's group?
[00:17:34] I don't know his name but that was telling Shawna what tasks she had to do.
[00:17:39] Nope.
[00:17:40] Okay.
[00:17:41] Well, he was dancing around and all fun because he was colligula in Misty's dream.
[00:17:48] Oh, right, right, right.
[00:17:50] I just looked him up and I was like, ah, that's the guy.
[00:17:55] Okay.
[00:17:56] Final question of this round goes to Jason.
[00:17:59] What is the name of the medication that Lottie takes?
[00:18:07] And these questions are hard.
[00:18:09] They are hard.
[00:18:10] And I know it was a medication that was typically given to schizophrenic, I believe.
[00:18:17] But I don't remember the name.
[00:18:20] I know the drug that she gives to everyone else, that's phenobarbital.
[00:18:24] But the medication...
[00:18:27] Oh, I think it was a fake name too because I remember we looked it up actually.
[00:18:32] I just said it was a drug typically given for schizophrenics but now I think I remember it was a fake name and I'm not sure which one is right.
[00:18:39] But either way, I've talked long enough to realize that I have no clue.
[00:18:44] All right, Jenny, do you want to steal it?
[00:18:47] Can you steal it?
[00:18:48] Wow.
[00:18:49] The only thing I can think of is lithium.
[00:18:51] Nope.
[00:18:52] Loxapine.
[00:18:53] I think that's a real drug because I remember looking it up but they misspelled it.
[00:18:58] I think they spelled it differently.
[00:19:00] Yeah, that's right.
[00:19:01] There was something about it.
[00:19:02] Yeah.
[00:19:03] All right.
[00:19:04] Where do we stand now on the score?
[00:19:07] I don't think that's moved the needle a lot.
[00:19:11] I'm at two Jennings at one and Daphne's at two.
[00:19:17] Okay.
[00:19:18] Oh, boy.
[00:19:19] We're ready for round three.
[00:19:21] These are Jason's questions.
[00:19:23] So Jason, stand by.
[00:19:24] I can't get any more points.
[00:19:26] You can't get any more points.
[00:19:28] So your best hope now is that Daphne doesn't get any of these.
[00:19:33] And Jenny doesn't get any.
[00:19:35] And Jenny doesn't get more than one.
[00:19:39] All right.
[00:19:40] I'm going to start with Daphne.
[00:19:42] Why hope that doesn't happen?
[00:19:45] Somebody should be.
[00:19:46] All right.
[00:19:47] Daphne, what town and state are the yellow jackets based in?
[00:19:54] Oh, boy.
[00:20:01] I know that the school is whiskey yuck.
[00:20:05] And I think it's in New Jersey.
[00:20:08] You are correct.
[00:20:10] Big go.
[00:20:11] Also.
[00:20:12] So Daphne pulls into the lead, I believe.
[00:20:19] Oh, I think this one's going to be easy though.
[00:20:23] Jenny, what college did Shawna get accepted into?
[00:20:28] Brown.
[00:20:29] That is correct.
[00:20:32] I know that T-E-A-S-T-A-N-T-E.
[00:20:35] When the girls decide to burn Jackie's corpse on a pyre,
[00:20:39] Who is the one to set it on fire?
[00:20:45] Hmm.
[00:20:46] I know they had trouble with trying to decide who should do it.
[00:20:51] I feel like Tiesa did it.
[00:20:58] Because no one else could.
[00:21:01] Nope. Jenny, can you steal it?
[00:21:04] I think it was Shawna. It was Shawna. It was Shawna. Okay.
[00:21:09] But you know, it's funny because I was like, is either the Shawna or Tysa?
[00:21:12] Yeah, that's what I would have guessed too. So I know that there were other instances where
[00:21:16] Tysa had to step in and do things because others couldn't so.
[00:21:21] Yeah, that sort of shook. All right. Um, Jenny,
[00:21:26] what song is playing when Shawna and Adam have sex in the back of his truck after their mini golf date?
[00:21:35] Oh.
[00:21:40] Um,
[00:21:44] I think I can hear it, but I don't know what's called.
[00:21:49] Hmm, Jason, if she correctly sings it, what do you think? Yeah.
[00:21:54] I think that would be fine with the song, but you have to sing the whole song.
[00:21:58] The whole song.
[00:21:59] Enough to identify it.
[00:22:01] It's okay. I'll pass it to Daphne.
[00:22:10] I wouldn't have gotten this one.
[00:22:11] I don't think I know. I think the only song that's coming to mind is
[00:22:17] song two by Blair, but that's not it.
[00:22:20] Yeah, that's not it. Jason, when I reveal
[00:22:24] I forgot the name of it, but it's that baby. I'm ready to go
[00:22:29] public. Oh god. I should know that.
[00:22:34] I wouldn't have done that one. There's so many songs like yeah, yeah, the soundtrack is amazing. Yeah. Yeah. All right.
[00:22:42] It's Daphne's turn in season two episode five, Misty and Walter play two truths in a lie, except everything Walter says ends up being true.
[00:22:51] At least that's what he says name any of the three things he said
[00:22:58] that he has a ton of money because he
[00:23:03] got hurt in a construction accident.
[00:23:10] That wasn't one of the truths. I think he told her that and like earlier.
[00:23:15] Oh, all right. Jenny, can you steal it?
[00:23:20] He was a goat soap maker.
[00:23:25] He looked at a goat farm and made goats up.
[00:23:27] That's really, really close.
[00:23:31] What do you think, Jason?
[00:23:33] You're the judge.
[00:23:36] I'm going to give it to you because that's way closer than I would have gotten. He sold goat cheese.
[00:23:42] Oh, okay. Well, he had to make milk first.
[00:23:45] Yeah. So it's just, it's just really, really close.
[00:23:49] The other two were there's a non-zero chance that Barry Manolo is his biological father
[00:23:54] and he has $175,000 stock in Taco Bell and has never been into one.
[00:24:00] Oh, my God. I don't even remember any of those.
[00:24:04] I remember the Barry Manolo one.
[00:24:06] I think I was just really focused on them getting to the retreat.
[00:24:10] Yeah.
[00:24:11] Yeah. All right. So it's Jenny's turn.
[00:24:15] Final question.
[00:24:16] What product does Lottie's intentional communities sell at the local farmers market?
[00:24:22] Honey.
[00:24:23] That is correct.
[00:24:25] She has, she won, she has four, right?
[00:24:28] Yeah, I think Jenny just won.
[00:24:30] She has five.
[00:24:31] She has five.
[00:24:33] Jenny came in and installed work.
[00:24:35] Congratulations.
[00:24:36] We got you like he's Jenny job.
[00:24:39] We don't have a prize.
[00:24:43] I just have to take over the whole network.
[00:24:47] You get a mouse.
[00:24:51] A little dried up.
[00:24:52] A crusty old dead mouse.
[00:24:56] Those were hard questions.
[00:24:57] It was funny because Penny asked me for my answers to my questions.
[00:25:03] I was like, I don't remember.
[00:25:05] When I came over with my questions, I was like,
[00:25:07] I don't know if I didn't know the answers to all these.
[00:25:10] But it was fun to look them up.
[00:25:12] But yeah, I really mean it.
[00:25:14] Like at the top, what I said at the top, this is rough
[00:25:17] because we haven't thought about the show in such a long time.
[00:25:19] I'm sure if we were broadcasting on it,
[00:25:21] we would have all done better.
[00:25:23] But it was fun and listeners, if you enjoy that
[00:25:26] and you got more answers right, feel free to write it in a cloak.
[00:25:29] That's fine.
[00:25:29] Or if you feel our answers are,
[00:25:32] maybe you thought we got it wrong.
[00:25:34] Yeah, let us know.
[00:25:35] Maybe we thought the wrong things.
[00:25:39] But that was so Jenny won with five.
[00:25:41] Daphne came in second with three and I got two.
[00:25:47] And I enjoyed being Quizmaster much more than being a quiz e.
[00:25:52] Penny being a quiz master is a ton of fun.
[00:25:55] And it takes all the pressure off.
[00:25:57] It's awesome.
[00:25:59] I love doing trivia.
[00:26:00] You did a good job.
[00:26:01] I think we should come back and do this after season three.
[00:26:04] Oh yeah.
[00:26:05] And see season three trivia.
[00:26:07] Yeah.
[00:26:22] So let's move on to some news.
[00:26:28] I tried to find any news about yellow jacket season three,
[00:26:32] but there really isn't much.
[00:26:34] As everyone knows last May,
[00:26:36] the yellow jacket season three riders room shut down after only one day
[00:26:40] because of the rider strike,
[00:26:42] the rider's guild of America strike started.
[00:26:44] But thankfully, the strike was ended in late September
[00:26:47] with agreeable terms from what it seems like for everyone.
[00:26:51] And the riders seemed happy, which I'm thrilled by.
[00:26:55] And yellow jackets was reportedly one of the first shows to go back to work after that.
[00:26:59] They got the riders from started it like the strike ended,
[00:27:02] I think September 27th and they were going like four or five days later in the riders room.
[00:27:08] So that's good.
[00:27:10] There's no word on when season three will premiere.
[00:27:14] So I was just trying to find out what the history of the show is.
[00:27:17] And the only thing I could find out for sure was season two,
[00:27:22] it took about 14 months from when they first started riding season two to win
[00:27:27] season two episode one premiered.
[00:27:29] So if that holds then season three would come out probably about a year from now next December, 2024.
[00:27:38] So that's a long time, but hopefully it's no later than that.
[00:27:43] Maybe it'll be earlier.
[00:27:44] I don't remember if we talked about this on the podcast,
[00:27:48] but Ashley Lyle mentions on what was then Twitter that there was going to be a bonus episode.
[00:27:55] Did we talk about that?
[00:27:57] I think we mentioned it.
[00:28:00] And it's supposed to bridge the events of season two and three.
[00:28:04] And there's been no news about that for months that I can find anyway.
[00:28:09] I don't want to give too much away, but there's speculation that Jason Ritter,
[00:28:14] you know, Melanie Linsky's husband might be in it since he was supposed to be in season two.
[00:28:19] And he reportedly did film scenes for season two, but they never showed up so that maybe they
[00:28:24] took all that stuff out and put it in the bonus episode that maybe we'll still get.
[00:28:31] I don't even want to say what people think it's about in case some people don't like spoilers,
[00:28:35] but it sounds pretty interesting if it does happen.
[00:28:39] Go look that up if you're curious.
[00:28:42] Then next, there was a really intriguing trailer for Ella Pernell's next show.
[00:28:48] You know, Jackie dropped a couple days ago.
[00:28:51] It's Fallout, which is based on the famous top-selling triple A Fallout series of video games.
[00:28:58] Like the game, it's a post-apocalyptic drama.
[00:29:01] It's developed by Lisa Joanne Jonathan Nolan who did Westworld, which that Westworld started out
[00:29:07] super strong and then wasn't so great as it went along. But I'm still pretty hopeful.
[00:29:13] They know how to put together a really lavishly done. And this looks like it has a lot of money
[00:29:18] in it from this trailer. Big budget. Ella Pernell plays the main character, Lucy, a quote young vault
[00:29:27] so I think it's like post-Nuclear War. I actually haven't played the games, but people come out
[00:29:33] of their vault after the war and there's mutants and lawlessness and chaos.
[00:29:38] The show also has Walton Goggins who was really good as Boyd Crowder and justified.
[00:29:43] I love him. Right just gemstones I never saw, but he's great.
[00:29:47] He's really good in righteous gemstones. Oh my god Jason,
[00:29:51] righteous gemstones is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life.
[00:29:54] Yeah, it's ridiculous. It is so good.
[00:29:57] He plays a mutant guns slinger in this. I can't wait. Oh that's amazing. Kyle McLaughlin is in it
[00:30:04] who was Dale Cooper and Twin Peaks back in the day. And the first Paula Tray these.
[00:30:10] Oh I love him. And best yet Michael Emerson, who in my opinion anyway who played
[00:30:15] the most. Oh from Lost? Yeah. So it's got a great cast. It looks awesome. The trailer made it look
[00:30:20] really stylish and fun. Like they do in the game they have all this post-apocalyptic stuff plus
[00:30:26] high tech plus like old timey music and aesthetics and stuff all mixed together and then there
[00:30:32] was some humor in it but a lot of violence too which makes sense for Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan
[00:30:36] there. They had violence in Westworld too. It was putting it out. It's gonna premiere April 24th
[00:30:42] on Amazon Prime. And maybe we'll do a podcast on it. I don't know yet. Podcasts of my you know
[00:30:50] seems like it'd be a good one to do. So that's that El Pernil front and center in that trailer.
[00:30:57] It was really when I first heard her voice I was like I know that voice
[00:31:02] and then last uh I just wanted to because there isn't much yellow jackets news but talk a little
[00:31:08] bit about what's going on in podcasting us since the last time I did at Yellow Jackets WTF episode
[00:31:14] I started two other podcasts on shows both of which I think fans of yellow jackets might be into
[00:31:20] because they're kind of dark and they're funny and intelligent well produced. Well acted one
[00:31:26] podcast is welcome to the White Lotus where my wife Jenny and our friend Randy and I podcasted
[00:31:31] on every episode of HBO's The White Lotus seasons one and two and we can't wait for season three
[00:31:36] to get back at it. And um I just love that show if you don't know it's about wealthy guests
[00:31:41] that go to this upscale resort and the staff at that resort and how they interact. And there's a lot
[00:31:46] of like psychosocial dysfunction and secrets and surprises and incredible casts for both seasons.
[00:31:55] If you like White Lotus I would recommend checking that out for sure if you haven't seen it yet
[00:31:59] I would recommend checking out the show if you like yellow jackets. And then more recently
[00:32:03] I started Squid Gamecast with my friend David and Daphne rotates in on that one with our friends
[00:32:09] Veronica and Karen and uh we definitely in Jonathan and I also covered the all new Squid Game
[00:32:16] inspired reality show Squid Game The Challenge which is if we had a trivia about that we would
[00:32:22] totally get away. We would ace that Jason. We would ace it. But if you if you actually haven't seen
[00:32:29] Squid Game it's a Korean South Korean thriller slash drama that's pretty nuts um I don't want to
[00:32:36] give a lot of away but it follows a bunch of people who are in deep financial trouble and they
[00:32:40] agree to play this mysterious survival game for a chance to win a huge cash prize. And it gets really
[00:32:45] disturbing I want to warn you like there's some really graphic gun violence in it but it's also
[00:32:52] really smart it's not just shock value there's social commentary it's really intelligent it's funny
[00:32:59] it's so well made um it works on a bunch of different layers for me it's worthwhile but it is
[00:33:04] very disturbing so if you you know it's not for the faint of heart um it's also the most popular
[00:33:10] show ever to be on Netflix. So anyway um Squid Gamecast that's what we've been into lately and welcome
[00:33:17] to the White Lotus and we'll try to keep doing you know Yellowjack its episodes once every month or
[00:33:23] so until season three comes back I'm sure before season three starts we'll do like some recaps
[00:33:28] and talk about what we're hoping for theories about what will happen and stuff like that you know
[00:33:34] because and I did a little bit of um studying up today clearly not enough but for the trivia
[00:33:42] and it reminded me of like the coach seemingly burning down the cabin at the end
[00:33:47] and I'm like oh my god I can't wait for season three to find out the aftermath of all of that.
[00:33:54] Yeah I've been intentionally not rewatching or like reading up a lot about Yellowjack its because
[00:34:00] I want to miss it when season three starts. I want to be like I want maximum excitement
[00:34:08] that makes sense yeah I kind of feel the same way like I'll do a rewatch probably before
[00:34:13] it comes back but not until we know what the date is that it's coming back so
[00:34:19] yeah so for now if we do more episodes this podcast we can like cover that new alive show like
[00:34:25] you guys said if it's any good and I kind of think it'd be fun to do the ice storm because
[00:34:30] Elijah Wood is in that and yeah I love that movie um I'd love to cover it yeah yeah we should do that.
[00:34:40] All right that is our show thanks so much for listening everybody.
[00:34:53] It was fun. If you want to write in or send us a voice message about it you can find all our contact information
[00:34:59] at podcastka.com. While you're there be sure to check out our other shows. Yeah as I mentioned we now
[00:35:06] have podcasts about the White Lotus and Squid Game but Jenny you just started your first podcast
[00:35:12] to get show on it tell us a little bit about it. Yeah do Penny and Daphne know about this?
[00:35:17] I don't think so I don't know. I feel like I heard about you doing one but so it's it's it's
[00:35:26] Randy's brainchild and so it's an improvised podcast so Randy and I and Randy's friend Rob
[00:35:36] we're all improvisers in our own communities sort of and some are more experienced in others
[00:35:42] and so it's an improvised apocalypse story so it sort of plays on apocalypse tropes
[00:35:48] I'm so it's called welcome to the apocalypse and we play characters who are on a journey
[00:35:54] to get to wherever and then there'll be guests popping in to like play along with us for you know
[00:36:01] a prep so whatever and yeah so it's fun it's uh it's a bit of a bit of a bit of a departure I think
[00:36:08] for the podcast club but it's very much in the within the wheelhouse of anyway Rick Grimes plays
[00:36:16] a cameo on our first so anyway so yeah so we just recorded that and the fun thing is I was recording
[00:36:23] it last weekend from the woods because I had to take Grimeschild's scout tree winter camping
[00:36:29] and uh so that was very exciting because we were at atmospheric atmospheric yeah
[00:36:33] so that's it for now happy holidays everybody that is it that is our show
