The Walking Dead is an emotionally rich, character-driven series about love and loss, and found family, and the lengths we'd go through to protect the people we care about. That's what's kept us coming back all these years. (And also we like zombies.)
I’m Jason Cabassi. My cohost Karen and I started podcasting about The Walking Dead back in 2010. Along the way, I’ve appeared on the show a couple of times as a walker, hosted hundreds of Q&A panels with TWD actors at conventions across the U.S., and eventually teamed up with the witty and insightful Lucy Hinnie. Together—with some incredible guests—we’ve covered The Last of Us and every Walking Dead spinoff, from Fear to Dead City.
Right now, we’re enjoying a rewatch of the original series—with the full story in mind—and diving into the moments that still hit hard. Past guests on the podcast include Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Robert Kirkman, Angela Kang, Greg Nicotero, and many more.
But honestly? The most fun and fulfilling part of all this has been interacting with you guys and making it a conversation. So write in, send a voice message, and be part of it!

We're Podcastica, and we've been doing episode-by-episode deep dives into great TV for over a decade now. We're fans, and we aim to enhance your experience of these shows.
There’s so much weight to this episode, in different ways. It’s absolutely landmark episode of The Walking Dead. And I didn’t remember how much it was just Negan applying constant pressure to Rick, until he breaks. Yes, it’s hard to watch, and I don’t blame anyone who thought it was too much. And al...
Welp, it’s time. Here’s Negan! Such a polarizing character, and y’all know I have my gripes. But I absolutely can’t deny he brought a huge shot of adrenaline to this show. He’s a character I often find incredibly fun to watch, and also, in some ways, frustratingly problematic. I’m very glad to have ...
As Amber Lovo says in her feedback this week, this ep really sets up the pieces for the big gut punch coming. And the tragic part is, you could argue our people are right out there helping the Saviors set up those pieces. Enjoying the rewatch? You can show support and get ad-free episodes and a bunc...
Oh Denise, sacrificed to the cynical Walking Dead Gods who seem to hate it when people have character building moments in life. This was a good episode, but depressing. But as always, Lucy and I find things to laugh about. We’re going to need that superpower for awhile here, aren't we….? Mentions: “...
Reposted from Star Wars TV ‘Cast, which you can find at ttps://podcastica.com/podcast/star-wars-tv-cast. — Feels like coming home as Rich, Chris, and Jason are back together to talk over the new Mando movie! We found so much to love (and yes, a few nits to pick) about it, and it was a pleasure to ta...
I remember this episode really stood out the first time, and it still does, and I think you agreed because we got a lot of feedback. So it’s you, me, Lucy, and guest Robin Springer all here in the same boat for this one. Enjoy! Enjoying the rewatch? You can show support and get ad-free episodes and ...
Ugh, it’s this one. The feeling of what it was like for us to watch this episode is well-captured by the look on most characters’ faces throughout. They’re clearly not happy with what they’re being asked to do. And neither are we. The show takes a turn here, in some ways into darker territory than e...
Come step into a larger world with Lucy, Jason, and special guest Rachel as we head to Hilltop, watch Maggie wrap douchey Gregory around her finger, hear Rick deliver an iconic line (“What?”), and ponder whether Jesus is actually a psycho. Show support and get ad-free episodes and a bunch of other c...
What a breath of fresh air this episode is after the intensity and trauma of the season so far. The lightness and warmth of it are such a welcome relief. And what a milestone it is to see Rick and Michonne finally get together. The first time around it felt abrupt to some, but this rewatch has made ...
Has there ever been a scene in TWD as badass as Rick and crew and all the Alexandrians hacking and slashing their way through a horde of invading zeds?! I mean, amazing episode, and I’m happy to share it with special guest Veronica, who ranks it as her very favorite. PS I’m personally pouring one ou...
700 episodes in and we’re still having a blast talking about The Walking Dead! Crazy. We’re happy to be joined by Chris Fairhurst of The Talking Dead podcast to take a look back at 15+ years of watching and podcasting about this show. And then Lucy and I talk out this episode, where the zeds finally...
Glenn emerges from under the infamous dumpster in this otherwise (we thought) not-super-exciting episode. Thankfully though, the church tower fell at the end and crushed part of the wall. Phew!
